Our maintenance service was an awesome experience. The process to book a maintenance technician was effortless and all online. There was no having to wait for someone to answer the phone and take down the details. By the end of putting the request in, the last screen was asking our availability and then Scheduled the request immediately. This was a total peace of mind, Our maintenance technician ,Keith W. ,was prompt n on time. He called 15 mins before arrival time, and stayed long enough to make sure the repair was up to par.He was very knowledgeable, thorough and super friendly. He explained what had gone wrong and how to avoid it happening again, but reassured us the company is always available to help. He definitely got us all fixed up and back up and running! First key homes definitely has a great team of workers! It’s been awesome renting this home for my family! Thanks Again!

Our kitchen faucet broke loose from the counter. Terrance came by to fix, he said at first it just needed to be tightened then he said the bracket was broken and we needed a new one. He had one right in the truck! He replaced it and and was done in under half an hour. He even showed me how much troubleshoot the new new model - I prefer to call first key after I have tried the simple fixes first. I was really pleased with his service. Extremely helpful, on time, called ahead, friendly and courteous.

I had the pleasure of working with Michelle Brower when my heater unexpectedly went out, and I couldn’t be more impressed with her quick and efficient, friendly service. From the moment she arrived, she got straight to work and diagnosed the issue in no time. She not only fixed the problem fast, but explained everything along the way so I understood what was going on. My home was warm again in a jiffy, and she made the whole process feel seamless. If you’re ever in need of heater help, Michelle is the one to call—professional, speedy, and super knowledgeable! Highly recommend.

We are going into our 3rd year of renting with FirstKey. This is the first time we have rented in over 25 years.There are a couple of people I would like to acknowledge for assisting us when we have needed it. My property manager for assisting me very quickly in a time sensitive matter and Michelle in the maintenance department for always taking great care of us.

I am truly grateful for the swift action from Rasheedah Brown. She provided the best maintenance request and resolved the issues I was having with the sewage pipe that bused under my retail. I had made several calls to get this resolved. She provide me with the best maintenance team. They came 9am done by 4:45. then team 2 came in pulled the sewage water carpet from my bedroom. I do not remember all of the guys names but thank you.

Everado with First Key Homes contacted me before his arrival to make sure someone was home and to discuss my work order. Not only was he on time for my scheduled appointment, he was very thorough. My heater has not been working this winter season , but Everardo made sure my family and I are able to stay warm. He made sure all parts worked and listened to every concern I had and made sure to find the solution. He went and picked up the part and installed it right away. I would recommend him for any problems that may arise.

Michelle is an absolute gem! When the recent cold snap froze my pipes solid, I was expecting a chaotic and stressful fix. But then Michelle showed up and handled it like the pro she is. She quickly thawed the pipes, explained everything with patience, and even gave me great advice on preventing this from happening again.But here’s the real cherry on top—she took time out of her busy repair job to love on my chihuahua, Dale. Now, Dale doesn’t just like everyone, but he was absolutely smitten with Michelle. She had him wagging his tail and following her around like she was the hero of the day (which she was!).Michelle’s not just an amazing plumbing tech—she’s an all-around wonderful human. First Key Homes is lucky to have her! If frozen pipes come my way again, I’ll be hoping for another visit from Michelle (and so will Dale!).

I have lived at our property for over 4 years and have always had such a hard time with maintenance requests and getting the run around when issues arise. This review is solely based on my most recent maintenance experience which was with Everardo. He was quick, efficient and kept me in the loop on everything he was doing to fix our AC both inside and outside of the home. This was by far the best maintenance experience we have had since moving in. He fixed our issue, continued to troubleshoot to make sure no additional things needed to be done, said his goodbyes and waited by the unit outside for over 20 minutes to make sure there were no additional that would come up after he left. He was very professional and informative on what to check for if this were to happen to me in the future.

The process of getting approved was very straightforward, everything is done electronically, but they have physical offices in the areas were the properties are, we had an issue with the house we were approved for on the first day of the lease, but Karla Gonzalez, our property manager went above and beyond for us. She solved the issue very professionally and very fast, once she started taking care of us, she made us feel at ease during the whole process, me and my family are really grateful to have her as our property manager. I have rented from some of the largest property investment companies in the US over the last 15 years and I can say that, hands down, FirstKey Homes is unique – in a very good way. I moved into one of their homes in DFW in June of this year (on a Friday afternoon) and when we arrived with a loaded truck, the a/c wasn’t working. Not ideal with it already being 95 degrees outside. So, I called FirstKey to report the issue. They were very concerned and had someone out to the house the next morning, a Saturday. They had to order a part, which came in the following Tuesday, they came back out that evening to install it and had me up and running with cool air. A few months later another part failed. I called and they had someone come out that same day. Luckily they had the needed part on hand, installed it and had me back up and running within 30 minutes. If you live in Texas, you know that it’s no joke to have no central a/c in summer time. A few weeks ago I noticed that part of my fence that separates my backyard from the neighbors had been removed. The neighbor had full access to a portion of my yard and a portion of the exterior of my house that I couldn’t access. I opened a ticket and within a week, FirstKey had contractors out here building a new fence. I can’t tell you how many places I’ve rented where the fence is literally almost on the ground and the property management company refused to repair or replace it. Then about a week ago my garbage disposal started leaking. Called it in and they had someone come out the next day – replaced the disposal within a few minutes and leak resolved. I simply cannot say enough good things about my experience with FirstKey so far. I am so grateful for their attentiveness, professionalism, and commitment to me as a tenant. I plan to stay here, happily, for a long time. Specifically, I am thankful for all the help Shayla, Jordan, Andy, Rica, James A., and Brittany provided on the fence issue. And thank you to David and James B. for keeping my a/c running!

Ali Alshemarx was awesome, my water valve in my bathroom for the bathtub was no good and would not turn off my water, he came as soon as he could at 2am to come out and fix it, I truly appreciate his thoughtfulness for coming at 2am to get my issue resolved as I could not turn off my water at the water meter so my tub was just running continuously. He saved the day!

My move-in day was the worst experience I have ever had! When I arrived at the residence there wasnt a lock box for me to gain access into the home. First of all I find that reaching an actual human being with FirstKey is futile. Sending an email when there is this sort of emergency is pointless. Thank God that the moving company I hired had a mixup with their schedule and was not there waiting for me to open the door! I was unable to move in and could not have someone tell me what I should do in this case. Sadly I have yet to hear from anyone!l***UPDATE***I was contacted by Ms Kacevic regarding my move in issues and she helped me immensely! I know have faith in FirstKey that they truly care about their tenants.

This is our 2nd visit from First Key for service on the AC. The first visit we had 2 techs (one in training) and after they had been here for over an hour they determined that the summer heat had melted wires and caused the system to “blow”. The proceeded to change the thermostat out and rewire some things on the unit in the attic, they had been here for a few hours at that point. When they left on that Friday they said the house would be cooler in 2-3 hours.Saturday morning we woke up to a freezing master bedroom (where the thermostat is located) and the rest of the house lukewarm. We were hosting an event that day, so having a warm house simply wouldn’t work. We went out and purchased a window unit and scheduled for First Key to return and let us know why our AC still wasn’t functioning as it had when we moved in.Today, we got a visit from Claudio! I explained what was going on and he immediately knew where to go and what to do. The unit outside had ice on it which lead him to the same unit in the attic the other guys had spent over 2 hours on. The filter he showed me proves the other guys never took a look at it. They never looked for ice on the outside unit and never checked the bigger vent inside the house. If you ever have AC issues in a First Key home - REQUEST CLAUDIO.

Upon moving from the Lake highlands area to the Mesquite area has been an adventure to say the least. We have had nothing but problem after problem with this property. Were met with its the tenants responsibility for repairs. We dont own this house. The city of Mesquite came out in March or April for an inspection of the property. Surprising enough this house didnt pass. We were given a red ticket. Now fast forward were at the end of October and the issues are just now being resolved. I must say Everado a technician came out today and addressed the issues for the citations received. I thanked him for his work ethics and professionalism shown today. He explained everything he did today.

He was proactive in getting an understanding of my maintenance concern to ensure once he arrived he was able to rectify all of my issues. I would like to take the time to leave a review of renting with first key for the past three years. There have been some times where I did not feel as if I was being valued as a resident, however I can truthfully admit this is not from the management staff at all. Upon talking to representatives at the call center and talking to employees on a more local level, contacting the call center is horrible and they seem to not care at all, which is where the issues arise. I’ve had my issues resolved sooner and more professionally once they were escalated above the call center. I wish I would have been taking names every time but I wasn’t. For instance I had a house fire the first key employee came out to my home, helped my children and I get situated in a hotel the same day and also moved very quickly with helping my family into another home quickly. Being displaced was emotional and overwhelming and the call center said I was denied for the new home and she got it corrected the same day, we were in a new home within a week. Fast forward after the fire I was being charged rent and late fees and being reported negatively to the rent score people for the old home, after moving into the new property because someone dropped the ball and was reporting me as not paying on the home that I was displaced from. After multiple calls to the call center, they were constantly promising for months, that someone would call me back and correct this issue. There were multiple emails to the lady that was reporting me negatively but once my local management team got involved everything was corrected within days. It’s unfortunate that the call center are the ones dropping the ball, I just wanted to give credit to the ones actually making sure business is getting handled and to the ones that do care about us as residents. All of the bad reviews, I just felt the need to state that they are not all that bad. I appreciate being a valued resident.

Our AC completely stopped working in our home we are currently renting. We live in Texas so you can imagine right now the house got hot quick. We were worried it wasn’t going to get fixed until the end of the week but next day James came and went straight to fixing our AC. They charge you $100 a month for a pool maintenance fee and the pool doesn’t get maintained. I’ve been in this house since 9/17 and out of that time the pool was “clear” for about 3 months. It still had algae in certain parts of the pool. Fast forward to now and pool is back green with algae.UPDATE:They got in contact with me and explain what was going on with the pool. They were helpful and refunded my pool Maintenace fee for the past 3 months. Im glad they took the time to get in touch with me and explain the situation.

The technician A/C technician Claudio found all the problems and now it works better than it did did when it was working.Claudio excellently troubleshooted the issue with our A/C and knew exactly what parts were needed and fixed the A/C quickly and efficiently. He swiftly took care of everything and I don’t think anyone could have done it faster or better since there were literally 3 critical parts that had gotten fried by water, and I saw the proof I watched the whole process. 10/10 give this man a raise please.

He did a great job completing a temp repair to ensure I had water until the permanent fix could be completed. He followed through the next morning as promised along with Keith White to complete the permanent repairs. They both were very friendly, knowledgeable and hardworking. Working with both of them restored my faith and confidence in First Key as I was a very unhappy and uncertain about the process as I had a very difficult time trying to get through the emergency hotline while being passed back and forth through the contact center.
