Woodhollow Apartments is a decent place to live. Its an older building with one maintenance person, but Stacy in the leasing office is always available to help. -

Woodhollow apartments very close to Sam Houston State University (SHSU). This is one of the best choice for SHSU students. I am living here since May 2024. -

Weve been here for 6 months and its been a pleasant experience. The issues weve had have been addressed in a timely manner and the staffing is always helpful. Stacy is an excellent manager and is reliable. My children have enjoyed the pool, safety and the quietness-just far enough away from campus to not have all the hustle and bustle. -

I haven’t lived here long but so far it’s been amazing! Stacy is a great manager and was very helpful in the process of signing. She’s always answered all of my questions in a very timely manner. The apartment itself is on the older side but everything works perfectly well and rent is more than reasonable! Woodhollow was recommended to me by a friend and I recommend woodhollow to anybody looking to move soon. -

I’ve lived here for almost six years in total and I’m giving it a five star because of Taryn and Stacy. Taryn no longer works here but Stacy is a wonderful property manager. I get maintenance requests done pretty quickly, everything is clean in the office, and the pool is very accessible. -

I have lived at Woodhollow for 6 years now from 2018-2024, and overall I would have to say most of the time it is a positive experience. For this to be an honest review I will discuss the good and the bad!Firstly, this apartment was built in the 1970’s and potentially earlier. It is 50+ years old, and although it still looks very decent, you will notice the age in various things in each unit. The appliances with the exception of the dishwashers are fairly modern, and when I moved in to each unit I’ve lived in, they were well-maintained. Dependent on your unit, the carpets may have some wear and tear, but after some asking the management did everything they could in terms of replacing carpet in my unit that was damaged by former tenants who owned pets, and that was appreciated considering one of the closets did smell of cat pee. The apartments are pet friendly, and there are pet poop pick-up stations on property, which I find very nice however I do not own pets. Woodhollow makes sure pet owners are responsible for their pet poop and pet behavior. The current property manager, Stacy, is very much on top of things. I do not feel as though I am inconveniencing her when I have a request, which I cannot say that was true for the previous management, and she is very insightful and knowledgeable about various apartment issues such as pests and pest control. Her emails are timely and informative and she keeps tenants abreast of any updates to the property as well as updates regarding Entergy work being done in our area. The maintenance person, Mr. Chris, is extremely funny and personable and is there every day maintaining the property. He is very knowledgeable and has gone above and beyond for me several times when I needed maintenance, particularly about A/C units during the horrible, hot, Texas summers. Speaking of Texas summers, unfortunately because we live in The Piney Woods, there are roaches (From time to time! This is not a constant, at least in my building…knock on wood…) For the most part, and especially with Stacy as new property manager, I feel as though Woodhollow has been taking these issues more seriously and calling pest control when possible. However, be prepared that you will see bugs in Huntsville no matter which apartment you live in. You will rarely hear your neighbors, and unless you live by the pool or the morning public school bus pick up spot, you won’t hear too much traffic. One thing I have noticed is that when my neighbors cook foods, I do tend to be able to smell it - I am lucky my neighbors are all fantastic cooks, though! As for the negatives, I have had several bad experiences with the laundry machines. Unfortunately, if you are using the laundry room, I highly recommend downloading the app. If you have any issues with CSC, they are impossible to get a hold of and I’m unsure if the property management is able to get a hold of them. You are likely better off using the washateria down the road if you are unable to get a washer dryer in your unit. I wish there was a different laundry company that they could contract with. There are, as this is an old apartment, some mold issues as well. Another issue I have is that the pool has been perpetually cloudy, and no amount of pool cleaner seems to fix the issue. Other tenants have swam in it, but I don’t want to risk it. It wasn’t always like that, and I have indeed swam in the pool in previous years, but until I can see the bottom of the pool I don’t think I will be swimming. It’s a shame, as that is the amenity I feel really makes the apartment complex shine!Overall, for an apartment built in the 1970’s on the cheaper side of rent for the area, I believe I receive a fair deal for what I pay for. As stated, the new property manager is good to work with and timely and understanding, the maintenance supervisor is great, and although the units are old I definitely love my little apartment - I’m very content to call Woodhollow home. -

Ive lived here for a little over a year and it is honestly the best complex i have ever been in. Super quiet, family-oriented, secure as well as clean. Never once have I had an issue with maintenance or Stacy the manager. Super friendly individuals and they actually care and incredibly respectful. -

Woodhollow is the best apartment complex, I have lived here since 2022. Maintenance is quick to fix stuff and the office manager is amazing. Even though it’s not far from the college it’s a very quiet complex. -

There are a lot of negative reviews… but I wanna be the one to leave a nice one! I moved here over the summer (2022) & have been living here for over 6 months now. I have had literally zero issues. I live in a one bedroom. Of course it is an older building I mean you should know what you’re getting yourself into signing a lease for a 50+ year old apartment. And honestly for how old it is there are very little issues in comparison. I’ve only had to put in 2 maintenance requests and the maintenance man (who is so awesome and friendly by the way) came bright and early the next morning on both occasions. He always says hello to my cat when he comes in too. I hear very little noise from neighbors other than the occasional sounds of running water/ knocks on the wall. Honestly I can’t ever hear anyone talking to each-other unless they’re outside. The only time I’ve ever had to deal with the leasing manager was when I signed my lease. Other than that it’s only been simple contacts about packages/billing issues and such. Honestly the only “problems” I have had are very much worth it for the price I’m paying. A one bedroom in my home town would have me paying double for the same/lesser quality of living. I’d say if you plan on leasing here you’re gonna love it as long as you’re respectful to your neighbors and okay with the character that comes from a 1970s apartment. It has charm and I love it here. Would probably live here for a very long time if I planned on staying in Huntsville. -

Ive lived at Woodhollow for over 10 years now and really dont have any plans of moving. When I first walked through my apartment, I knew it was for me. The locations great, the people are great, and the rent is definitely on the cheaper side which is a blessing these days. Of course there are some maintenance needs every now and then being older apartments, but heck Ive been around brand new apartments that have had issues right off the bat (where friends lived), and I can assure you their management and maintenance team didnt care as much as mine do. I can call day or night if something needs to be taken care of and theyll see to it. Theyve been extremely helpful with even everyday needs when necessary. But one of the best things is that its one of the quietest apartments in town. Rarely any issues; most people keep well to themselves or are simply friendly. Definitely not a party apartment, but even if someone throws a party, they tend to be respectful to the neighbors. Its good place. If you treat it right, itll treat you right. -

I lived at Woodhollow for 2 years and I had an amazing experience! Maintenance and management are absolutely amazing and, based on what I’ve heard about other apartments in the area, made me very happy to have the people that were in those positions there! Any issue I had to contact management about was immediately addressed and Chris (the maintenance man) was an absolute pleasure to know would be there to help me out! I cannot praise Chris enough for being such a great person and so willing and eager to help whenever I needed him! Aundrea (management) was amazing as well! From the very beginning of my time here she was always contacting me whenever there was something I needed to know (bug spraying etc.)and always got back to me ASAP when I called or emailed after hours! Like with Chris, Aundrea was great to me and was always helpful, even when it came to moving out. I talked to her about leaving early due to graduating and she put me on a list and updated me throughout the entire process (only took a few days, apartments in high demand). The apartments are older, however with management and maintenance so on point, anything that you need fixed gets fixed ASAP! The walls are thick so noise from neighbors are almost non existent! The pool area is nice and the community is quiet, I really cannot harp on this place enough! -

I have lived here for almost 3 years now. The apartments are older, so there are some inconveniences (not many or the best placed electrical outlets, I have had some maintenance issues over the years) BUT on the upside, the staff is helpful and the price s affordable which makes up for it. Chris is very quick to get to any submitted work orders, and if he cant immediately address any issues he makes time to come by when I am home and get my feedback to make sure that he fully addresses any concerns. Aundrea has always been kind and helpful, from when I moved in (my credit wasnt good at the time, but she was understanding and allowed me a chance regardless) to the present. They remembered my name right away, and Aundrea loves when I visit the office with my dog and even gives her treats sometimes. The community at Woodhollow is pretty quiet and calm, and has provided a good environment with a convenient location as an older student. -

I absolutely love Woodhollow. It may not be as modern as other apartments in the area; however, you cant beat the price. Its very affordable and is a quiet community. Ive noticed that I never hear my next door neighbors through the walls which shows the complex was built very well. The staff has always been friendly and helpful towards me. I will definitely continue living here while Im in Huntsville! -

I have lived here for about 3 years and I love it. I have never had a problem with Andrea, she is always helpful and nice! Chris the maintenance guy always takes care of whatever I have needed, and does it correctly. I was living in a smaller apartment and I wanted to move into a larger one, Andrea immediately put me on a waiting list and in no time I was moving into the new place. When I fierst moved in I will say the bugs were terrible, but Andea did everything she could sending the pest control all the time, making sure I was taken care of. It wasnt her fault there was bugs, it was the person that lives there before me. I now have not seen one bug, and even in my previous apartment never saw bugs. I am always cordial with Andrea because she takes care of whatever I need. I dont bash this place, its been great :) -
