Our only interactions with the company thus far have been with Stephanie and signing the lease agreement. Stephanie was helpful to us in getting us information on a property we were interested in. We also had a special consideration that we probably wouldnt be able to stay the full duration of the lease and were able to problem-solve ideas on how we could work it.

We needed a place for our kid to stay since UNT only provides dorms to freshmen. We were a bit late starting our search and found a few potential units with Places to Be. The random draw of life gave us Rick Guzman to work with. He has been an excellent agent for us. Hes been very responsive and timely to my calls and took care of my requests, even if they happened to be simple questions hed already answered or I had the paperwork for. I peppered him with calls for about a month and hes always been pleasant. We decided on a unit in the Belle Frank apts, its a tad pricier than most places but is also newer and has in-unit washer/dryer. I cant say anything for their other properties but I think we and our kid will be pretty happy with their 2 year stay at Belle Frank. My experience with the office staff has been great but Rick will probably remain my go-to man.

Apartment reviews can be brutal, but Ive had a positive experience living in a Place To Be apartment for the last two years. The few times I had maintenance issues (broken sink, flooded washer, broken closet door), someone was there either that day or the next business day. They will start pressuring you to re-sign for the next year after three months on a lease, which is irritating for a college student who may not know what theyre having for dinner that night let alone what theyre doing nine months from now, but overall, Ive had very few complaints. A lot of their properties are within walking distance of campus, which can save you having to buy a $275 parking pass.

Place To Be Properties is the fantastic!Vanessa Ochoa is so, so helpful! I needed to move into a place as soon as possible and she managed to find me the perfect place even with the time crunch. (She even got new ceiling fans put into my apartment before I moved in as a surprise!) The best part is that the kindness and willingness to accommodate doesnt stop when you sign the lease. She is always prompt in responding to any questions or concerns I have. The rest of the staff is great too, always so friendly.The apartment itself is beautiful. They are very good at keeping the apartments nice. The apartment was a little dinged up from the last tenant, but they shampooed the carpets and installed new flooring to make the place good as new before I moved in. They have even done a couple of updates since I moved in, updating light fixtures and stuff like that.I love living here and highly recommend it. If you ask for Vanessa Ochoa shell do all she can to get you into the perfect place!

Place to Be properties has been totally awesome. I am renting with them again next year especially because of my experiences with Vanessa Ochoa. Vanessa has been incredibly kind, caring, and helpful, and has made my first experience renting very stress-free and relaxed.Every single maintenance issue I have had has been dealt with very quickly and without any hassle whatsoever. The maintenance staff is phenomenal. They fix everything and arrive quickly every time. One particular example: Last Friday night, I came home from work to find my AC not working. At 12 Oclock Midnight, I called the emergency maintenance number. 15 MINUTES LATER the maintenance man arrived and fixed the AC. The maintenance staff has been kind and respectful every single time they have had to fix something, no matter how large or small the issue is.The house I stayed in was incredibly clean, absolutely no bug problems whatsoever. I highly recommend 940 Springcreek Drive.

Love this apartment complex! They are so friendly and always very welcoming to new tenants. I love my apartment and plan on living here for a few years at the least. Stephanie is so sweet and makes you feel at home. If you have any bug problems or maintenance they get someone out there ASAP. Best apartment I have ever lived in.

Place to be properties is really a place to be. There is no doubt about that based on my personal experience. I am currently renting one of their apartment called Cole Place. The apartment is very clean and it is only a few minutes drive from my school. It has everything that makes me comfortable. Their customer service is also excellent. They did help me a lot when I was moving in. They made things easier for me when I needed a place and transaction was smooth even though I was in a different state. I was moving in and I couldnt arrived in the office during working hours to collect my keys but Vanessa was there for me. She waited for me all evening to be able to hand over the keys to me around 9:30 pm. I was really impressed about her service. If not because of her, I didnt know where I would have slept that night.

This place has ups and downs, as every apartment complex does. In the beginning, I worked with some very kind staff who were attentive and answered all of my questions with a smile. However, I also worked with some very rude staff who tried to pressure me into a big decision, as though taking one minute to think before selecting a unit was too much of his time.Overall, I enjoyed living here. I lived in the Prairie Oaks 1br. I loved the location and could walk to all of my classes and work. It is an older building and has some charms from that. Tons of cabinet space (as you probably noticed in the virtual tour), it has a doorbell, an older thermostat and an older deadbolt system (cute and effective). They also have updated appliances. I have had no issues here. Ive never made a maintenance call so I cant speak to that, but thats probably a good thing.There are some things I wish I knew before moving in, but I would not consider these drawbacks. There is no light in the living room, so I just bought some lamps. There is also no microwave. The closet is small but there was enough room for me to put in a temporary rod to hang the rest of my clothes and the space has been sufficient for me. I also tend to run out of hot water, especially if I take more than one shower a day. Its definitely a no frills kind of location, but thats exactly what I was looking for.

I have been renting from Place To Be Properties for almost a year now, and overall my experience has been really great. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, professional, and care about their residents. Any maintenance request Ive ordered is always completed within 1 business day and I havent experienced any major problems with my unit.However, as my roommate and I were about to resign our current lease, we found out it had already been leased to someone else and we had to find a different apartment *sigh* I have to say, it was partly our fault because we mentioned very early on that we would be graduating and were not interested in resigning... still frustrating -_- For any current residents that are unsure whether or not youll be resigning: Its best to say you are so if you change your mind, you can give notice 90 days in advance to avoid any issues like this from happening.Anyway, in the end we decided to sign with a different unit in another building with Place To Be because we couldnt find anything reasonably priced after looking at over 15 apartment complexes in Denton. I called one of the leasing agents VERY last minute (out of desperation lol) and was connected to Vanessa Ochoa--SUPER sweet! She was able to meet with us within 5 minutes of making the call and was genuinely apologetic when she found out about our situation. She really went above and beyond to get us an apartment we really liked and walked us through the entire process thoroughly. We ended up signing a new lease within 45 minutes that same day! Highly recommend Vanessa!

Its easy enough to find a place that looks like itll be okay to live at, but it can be difficult to find landlords who will care about you as a human being. Place to Be has responded to every single request of mine in a timely manner and far exceeded my expectations.I have treated them with respect and they have treated me with it in return. Most recently I requested an upgrade to my heaters that they had no obligation to do. I came home and was so pleased that they filled my request in under 48 hours. I very happy to have resigned my lease and continue with Place to Be. You dont find many landlords like this and I highly recommend then to anyone!

Place to Be is great! Seriously. Ive lived at my apartment, Cole Place for the past 2 years now and am about to renew my lease one more year. I just called to get some information on my renewal and was so pleased at how Tamela (leasing manager, i think) treated me that it made me come and write a review. Im about to get a $50 gift card and a free carpet cleaning, which I think is pretty darn awesome! So when I moved in I was very pleased with my apartment! It was cute, clean, and just perfect for me. Since Ive been here maintenance has been great, but Ive never really had big problems. The biggest thing I can remember was a small leak from my roof coming from my upstairs neighbors but I called and they came like literally 15 mins later and fixed it. Anytime that I call the office the girls are really nice and sweet! Which I like because Im really big into customer service. I dont ever feel uncomfortable going up to the office to pay my rent or get information, I actually like going up there..especially for the cookies! But anywho, yeah I would definitely recommend Place to Be! Great apartments, and great people! -

Great apartment, new carpet, fresh paint. tamela could not have been more helpful. maintenance was always prompt in fixing the things that needed to be fixed. parking was never an issue. good neighborhood nice neighbors i felt safe. they were good in making sure people did not park in resident parking. clean laundry room all washers and dryers worked fine. i would definitely recommend place to be to anybody looking for a place to live.

Lived here for about a year so far. Professional, courteous office staff. My hot water heater had to be replaced, and maintenance took it out, just leaving it outside my door and left the new one sitting in my living room. After a call to maintenance at 10 PM, they sent someone over who completed the hot water heater installation at midnight. It was either the building owner or the maintenance on-call person who stayed up until about 2 AM with me just to make sure it was done and I was happy. They sent someone over to clean the floors and carpet, and took some money off my rent for that month because of the headache. A bad situation turned into a really good one. The location is also nice because its very close to UNT, and the rent is cheaper than a separate apartment that I had. Maintenance isnt always the best, but what can I expect when they maintain so many apartments in Denton? I was a little upset I was not allowed to go month to month on my lease however. Feels like its catered specifically towards students with resignings required in January/February for the following year. Overall, Id recommend their apartments.

I moved in to Cole Place around the beginning of May last year, which is owned by Place to Be Properties. When the went over all of the preliminary stuff with me, I just assumed this place would be like any old apartment complex. I happy to report that I was wrong. There have been a couple of times during my(still current) stay at this complex where I have run into financial problems. Its just something that everyone runs into here and there. These people seem to get that. Every time I told them that things just didnt work out well and I didnt have enough on me to cover the entire bill, instead of scolding me and telling me to basically pack my belongings, they immediately, and seemingly without a second thought, wanted to work with me. We figured out a date that would work, and everything was golden. Thats one thing I am really appreciative about how the management works. I wouldnt recommend being late all the time. Everyone has their limits. But if you run into a bind at some point or another, they do their best to try to work out something that fits your timeline and budget. The include electricity in my rent, so while my total rent differs slightly each month, its very convenient to just pay both bills at once and be done with it. They are very courteous about giving you a heads up anytime their is property wide maintenance or pest control, which they seem to maintain on a regular basis. Their maintenance people are also rather nice and rather professional. If you have something wrong, you just give them a call and theyll be over to fix it in no time. I had an issue with my heater not long ago. I placed a call around late afternoon. While it was too late for them to come out that same day, I was one of the first people they took care of that following morning. The gentleman told me not only exactly what was wrong, but also gave me information about heat control in the apartment as well. Though my lease ends in May, I will more than likely try to stay with Place to Be Properties. Just a different apartment with a buddy of mine. For those of you that are on the lookout for an apartment, I can assure you that Place to Be Properties is in fact the place to be. Plus, having a washer and dryer provided for you in your unit is rather nice as well. I would recommend Place to Be ten times out of ten.

There was an ant problem when we first moved in but they acted fast to take care or it. Any problem or concern I had it was always taken care of and I have been treated very kindly by their staff in office and in maintenance.

My roommate and I needed to find an apartment in Denton, but we didnt really know where to start. We were students at UNT, and we needed something cheap, but reliable. After going to a few complexes, we didnt really have anything that we liked, and the ones we did like were already taken, or too expensive.We went out on a whim and saw an advertisement for Place to Be Properties, and despite the fact that they werent on our radar, we gave them a call.We met up with Vanessa, and she was extremely helpful. The time span between giving them a call, and signing the apartment lease was maybe at most, 30 minutes.She showed us rates of all of their complexes. When we saw one we liked, she took us over and let us visit the apartment. We loved it, and went back to the office and signed the papers then and there.I highly recommend Place to Be Properties. They are inexpensive, and they are quality apartments. If you need an apartment, just go to Place to Be. They will help you, and walk you through every step.

Ive been renting my apartment (specifically Greenlee Heights) with PTB Properties for almost 2 years now and Ive mostly been satisfied with my experience. They have been attentive to my needs, especially when it comes to maintenance. They are quick to report crime and let other residents know. I even won a TV from them during a raffle last year for resigning my lease. Unfortunately, Im finishing up my degree and moving elsewhere so I wont be resigning again this year. Id recommend them to others though. I used to live in student housing at other apartment complexes and it was horrible. PTB seems to take their clients more seriously and I think it really just depends on what apartment complex youre staying at for different experiences.

I lived at A Central Place for 3 years and I couldn’t have enjoyed it more. Maintence was always quick and very nice. Exterminators came regularly and I only ever saw 3 DEAD roaches in my whole 3 years of living there- very impressed. I was a student and campus is right across the street, and it’s a nice walk to the square. I loved living at A Central Place and I couldn’t recommend it more!!

I have had a really awesome experience with Place To Be Properties. I had been searching for an affordable pet friendly, one bed room, close to campus apartment, and had really come up short. I called Places to Be and was immediately set up with an appointment that same day. I had previously rented with Scott Brown, and it was an ABSOLUTE nightmare. So I was a little intimidated of trying another major leasing agency is Denton. My leasing agent is Vanessa Ochoa. She is great! She is so kind, professional, and conversational and made the process extremely easy for me. I put a deposit down the same day. I love my apartment, it is absolutely adorable :,). It has big windows, hard wood floors, excellent air conditioning. Its perfect. Will definitely rent through Place To Be as long as Im in Denton!!

I see nothing bit horrible reviews on A Place To Be Properties. I live in Sycamore Square and every time we need anything AT ALL,THEYRE THERE WITHIN HOURS!! Sure, weve had to wait for specific parts at times, but thats with almost anywhere,apartments or not. Its not like every rental/leasing agent has theyre own Ace Hardware or HomeDepot! Maintenance is so great. I put in my work orders and they come pretty quick afterwards. I live at shady place property and I’ve loved it so far. I only have had one problem since living here and it was because I was almost charged a late fee on the 1st of the month because I made my money order out to the wrong company- even though late charges are advertised to be assessed on the 4th of every month. Other than that I’m very pleased with my stay.

I lived at Some Such Place- which is just across the street from UNT- so that was nice. I never had bug problems either. If I could have changed one thing it would have been the air conditioning controls. I only sort of figured out how to manage the temperature. If you struggle to pay rent, the late fees accrue faster than other apartments I lived at. In the end, it was a good place for me.

Ive been with Place To Be Properties since 2003. I have not noticed a single thing wrong just yet with their management, staff and maintenance crews. Whenever I had to call for maintenance, they usually had someone show up within several hours or at least the following day. Some repairs just take longer and its understandable if several trips are required to get everything resolved. With so many properties to manage, you seriously cant except to call in and get it done as you wish: right away. Emergencies have had their utmost priorities though (such as water leaks or A/C units not working in the summer). I know because Ive had to call into the emergency lines several times and someone was always there to come and fix right away (I cant stand it when A/Cs break during the hot summers in Texas).Staff is very professional, courteous and gets the job done. Those ladies at the offices know how to deal with every situation, whether youre American or International, they have done it all. I have known Tamela at PTB for many years, and it amazes me how much work she can get done without losing her cool when things are sometimes difficult to handle.I just renewed my contract with them again the past week and all I can say is, its worth it to give PTB a try. I may have been lucky with my choices of apartment properties to live in, but the 3 Ive used for the last 12 years have served me well and I only have great things to say about Place To Be Properties. If you live/study/work in Denton or even Cooke County, I encourage you to pay visit to the PTB on Carroll Blvd and just see what they have to offer you.PTB! Employees are always very friendly and helpful! I love my apartment! There are always emails sent out with information that residents may need to know. However, I have had several instances where employees gave me misinformation. All in all, Place to Be is great!

Its also the only place Ive lived that didnt give me trouble about returning my deposit at the end of the lease. They just gave it back in full.

The rent is decently cheap and they just made it free to pay your rent online so that its really simple for anyone to get it paid, even if its too cold to go outside.

They offer lots of deals that help out when moving in, slashing prices for first months rent and application fees. They offer complimentary pest control every 3-4 months which I am very grateful for. They take a while getting back to you sometimes over different maintenance issues and property concerns but for the most part, they’re great and totally recommended.
