The neighborhood is awesome. Ive always frequented it, but Ive never lived here until recently. The apartments here are pretty standard but have all the updates one might expect. They arent extravagant, but theyre nice and I dont have any complaints. Bonus...I like having an assigned parking spot! Im giving it a five-star because I have no reason not to!

I’ve lived in a lot of apartments. Manchester State Thomas truly has the BEST management, leasing, and maintenance staff. They have gone above and beyond to ensure a smooth move-in & living situation. Very proactive, responsive, and kind. We needed a couple very MINOR repairs. The team took care of it same day, checked in with us after, and sent us cookies.Special S/O to Riley, Shayne, and Kelly. And I know we had one or two others help us out & I just didn’t catch their name!Not to mention our townhome is beautiful and a very functional floorplan.

I have worked with Manchester State Thomas many years as an apartment agent . Recently , had a client lease with Chase Gillis . I’ve toured with Chase many times and he is always professional , courteous , and efficient . Chase is an asset to the community . The new renovations look great and love the townhomes with attached garages ! The area is awesome !

Lets start talking about the location, the Manchester at State Thomas location is unbeaten. The staff is also something to remember, they are always helpful and friendly, especially Lucy and Kelly. Our apartment is on the third floor and has the best city view. We are delighted to live in Manchester at state Thomas and we can encourage you who are reading that you should apply.

We have LOVED living here so far. The maintenance staff goes above and beyond to assist, and are driving around on golf carts daily working on the property. Our A/C has not been working in this awful heat wave, but the team quickly was by and even worked with our work schedules to return when we could be present. The buildings are a bit older, but have great charm and when asked, the team will work to fix any problem you may have. Great neighborhood!

Manchester State Thomas is a wonderful community!The office staff are true, kind-hearted, genuine people who care about the residents and the property completely. Love Kelly, Chase, and Matt! They have always been a great help with any questions or concerns I have, whether they be big or small. The office team really will go the extra mile to make sure you love it here!The maintenance team is always on it in with keeping the property up to standards. They are quick & timely with any service requests places and always come in with a smile on their face, happy to help!The community itself is full of lively, friendly people in one of the best Uptown neighborhoods. There’s so much to see and do nearby whether you walk or drive, it’s truly convenient!I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else, truthfully! This place has felt more like a home to me than some of the other apartments I have lived at here in Dallas.So, if you’re looking for somewhere to call your future apartment home, than look no further! Manchester State Thomas is truly an amazing community!

We have enjoyed living here so far. The townhouses are very unique and feel like homes versus apartments that you see all throughout Dallas. The neighborhood cant be beat. It is so easy to walk around and there are some great restaurants and coffee shops nearby, a dog park, a top notch nail spa, and so much more. It really reminds us of one of those quaint neighborhoods in Boston.Kelly has been incredible in helping us get settled. She was with us from the start and made sure things were taken care of when we moved in, even going as far as to expedite some maintenance requests. She truly works to make this feel like a community as well and we very grateful for her kindness and work attitude. I highly recommend asking for her when you are looking at places. The reason for one star knock is because maintenance requests can be slow and the front office is not great about giving updates. Some of the front office staff members in particular can sometimes be difficult to interact with and tend to give attitude when simple questions are asked or requests are made, which is frustrating and not really addressed. We have had e-mails and calls ignored by them at times. That said, just stay on top of calling and e-mailing for updates.

Lived here for 13 months! The location cannot be beat (near Griggs Park and local bars/coffee shops), and they are so pet-friendly. The spaciousness of the units made a great home for my dog while I lived there. Amenities both in my unit and apartment-wide added to my good experience. The on-site staff is wonderful as well; you almost never saw a time where a few weeks passed without some resident event being thrown.I must say, however, that it is clear the holding company (Greystar) is squeezing every bit they can out of this apartment complex. The parent company is definitely cheaping out on the A/C units. Even setting the thermostat to 80 deg. in my single floor unit couldnt keep my electric bill below $200 during the summer! The A/C exhaust, in many units, feeds out to a covered balcony, where the hot air circulates and gets fed right back in. I know this is a tough issue to fix, but I hope that Greystar would give the Manchester staff the resources to solve the A/C issues many of the residents deal with. My A/C was installed last August, and I began having issues with it again about a month before I moved out, barely even a year later. Manchesters maintenance crew is hard working and I never had any bad experiences with them. Its sad that Greystar would rather let them take the blame from upset residents, rather than investing in higher quality A/C units or altering unit design to fix the root cause.That being said, I really did not want to leave this community (Again, Greystar increased rent anywhere from 17-25% for renewing residents this year, so I had no choice). I wish Manchesters on-site staff nothing but the best, and I hope to return some time. If your wallet can take it, I highly recommend living at Manchester!

Love Manchester! We have lived here for a year and just recently transferred into a larger apartment for another year and we couldn’t be happier! The staff is so nice, Tony and Chase were such a help with our transfer also. They host monthly events which is great since we moved from out of state. There is SO much to do around this area. Lots of restaurants and bars. It’s never boring! def recommend!

Charming neighborhood. Nice neighbors. Staff is friendly and always willing to chat with me. I appreciate that the property manager makes an extra effort to assist me with any concerns. Its clear they care, even when they cant meet every need, but they try to go above and beyond. I had to break my lease early for personal reasons or I would have stayed happily. My only criticisms were maintenance didnt come back to complete a few work orders and I had to harass the office about it. Otherwise, they are good and take care of business most times.

Manchester State Thomas has been a wonderful place to live. The office staff is very responsive to residents; the maintenance crew is respectful and friendly; there are tons of great amenities; the neighborhood is very walkable with some of the best restaurants and small businesses; there are parks, trails, and loads of entertainment nearby; the residents all seem to care about getting to know their neighbors, so it feels like a community. I would truly recommend MST to anyone looking to rent in the area.

My husband and I really enjoy living at Manchester. It is a very dog friendly area and so close to many good restaurants and parks. It is a great place to live. The office staff- Kelly and Chase are great! They really care about the residents. Highly recommend.

Great place to live! Management has been great with communication and events. Neighbors are friendly. So close to everything and overall a beautiful community. So happy we were able to find MST. Would recommend to anyone looking to live in Uptown.

Best uptown apartments and townhomes! We downsized from a 3 bedroom house and all our stuff fit. My husband loves that we can still have an oversized 2 car garage that hes used to and still be walking distance to everything. Really happy we made the decision to live here. Not much more you could ask for!

Manchester State Thomas was a great place to live! My husband and I lived in the city flats for 2 years with absolutely no issues. Great apartments in a great neighborhood! Favorite apartment for sure (and we’ve lived in many!!) I highly recommend living here.

I contacted them a few weeks ago I wanted to know if they accept the section 8 housing voucher. I got super excited when they emailed me back and said they do. I found out when I did a Google search of apartments that accept section 8 housing Uptown. YP(Yellow Pages ) showed the listing. Im not sure my voucher will be enough to cover the rent.I wouldnt know the amount of my voucher until I put in a notice to vacate where I live currently. This is a old property but really pricey! I did call,but I didnt mention my voucher. The guy told me the one bedroom available was $1799. I was like yikes! I was hoping for more like $1200. This is not the amount I would pay. My voucher just has to meet what they are asking for. Many older properties are accepting Section 42 LIHTC (Low Income Housing Tax Credits) or Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher! I love Uptown. There is so much to do and see. I will have to continue my search. I did find something in Cityplace. I fell in love with Manchester. It would have been just perfect for me. I no longer have a car. I love the M Line Trolley. No sure what rating to give.

Ive been here for almost 3 years and have enjoyed our time and found the office and maintenance team to be responsive to any issues. The location is great for access to downtown, or being able to walk to a number of bars / restaurants and Whole Foods.

The Manchester State Thomas is a part of the quieter STATE THOMAS area. The State Thomas area overall has a neighborhood feel much like the Manchester...more laid back and quiet. It really is great to walk around the neighborhood on a sunny day, and enjoy the people, dog walkers, joggers and going to some of the local shops.This is a very pretty area. The streets have mature trees and a lot of charming looking townhomes. Some of the mini blocks look like a little bit like the Brownstones area in Boston. There are also a few sidewalk shops and cafes sprinkled around as well (Thomas Avenue, etc.). It feels very relaxed here.The townhome apartments were built in 2002. They tend to have a lot of space to work with, but have varying amounts of finish out inside. Some of the townhomes are pretty snazzy (with hardwoods, granite, etc.), while some of them are pretty basic (white appliances, carpet, etc.). The ones that are more basic are lower priced, typically, so it all balances out.These feel more like a HOME and have more space. They have more space in kitchens, in closets, etc.Keep in mind that these ARE built in 2002. And, these are townhomes. That means that there might be some occasional repair issues.Most of the floorplans are a townhome style, and have an attached garage. Very nice for Uptown...and very rare! The smallest of this is a 1 bedroom with a tiny study, and a single attached garage. These go very quickly and are harder to catch. Then, they are two bedrooms, and even a FEW very large three bedrooms.There is also a small building that is connected to the leasing office. This small building has one and two bedroom apartments available in a mid rise style (with secured, air conditioned hallways, etc.). IT also includes a parking garage. One of the perks of this location is that you have quick access to the gym.Features: Here are some of the features that are great at the Manchester State Thomas:* Good sized kitchens - Wow, typically decent sized and sometimes HUGE kitchens here. If you like to cook and entertain with food, youve got it here.* DIRECTLY attached garages - huge, HUGE for Uptown. This rarely exists, and is sooooo nice. The 2 bedroom townhomes have TWO car attached garages too.* Patios/Balconies INCLUDED - Many of the townhomes have patios and balconies. But, several of the one bedroom options do NOT.* Newer appliances - The majority of apartments and the townhomes have newer stainless steel appliances. Some of them are not fully renovated, and still have more basic appliances.* Granite Countertops - Same as appliances.* Hardwoods - Many of the floorplans are available with hardwood floors.* FIREPLACE - This is super rare in Uptown, and nice to have in the winter.* Nice size Closets - These closets are awesome!The Manchester State Thomas has some AREAS to IMPROVE:* Washer/dryer NOT included - Nope, not included! Must rent your washer/dryer...* Carpet interiors - Several of the floorplans have basic carpet.* No walk in showers - Most of the floor plans do NOT have walk in showers. These have the more apartment style tub/shower combination.* No Gas - even though these are townhomes, they do not have gas cooking ranges.One thing about rent increases: Most places in Dallas will do a rent increase after your first year. The Manchester does too. You can simply negotiate with them and make the increase smaller.
