I’ve lived here for a year and I got lucky to have friendly neighbors. We’ve built a little community, celebrate birthdays in the deck area, and lookout for each other. I can also see that management is doing their best to make upgrades little by little, create community events and fun giveaways!

Lived here for several years and on the whole enjoyed it.Pros- excellent location for a really good price (youre like 9 mins from the downtown). The price is hard to beat in this area.- some of the 2nd and 3rd floor 1BR apartments have an epic view of the city skyline- quiet (esp if youre on the top floor and away from Menchaca Rd)- youre generally far away from any homeless encampments, although they may wander near (better than them being like right next door like some apartments in Austin)- the private balconies are awesome. All these newer apartment complexes have balconies where you can see right thru the bars, which is annoying. Some of these balconies are really private.Cons- Management has changed hands like 5+ times in my time living here and is never great. But for what its worth, the current management is better than average and generally responsive to concerns. Its like dealing with the cops, most apartment managers like to put on a tough guy act, which is kinda annoying and itd be nice if they didnt do this, but you just have to be respectful and deal with it.- upstairs noise is sometimes an issue depending on which apartment you rent and if they have hardwood floors above you (some units do, some dont. You should probably ask if youre sensitive to noise. Or get a top floor apartment. Shared wall noise is minimal).Misc:- have seen reviews about car break-ins. Didnt have nor see any in my years of living here, although this may vary depending on where you park and what youre leaving visible.

Moving in was easy and the price is very reasonable given the location.Since moving in maintenance has been great. They have gotten everything fixed within 24 hours.Definitely happy to be here

I’ve lived at the Tides for the past several years and have had an amazing experience. Themost recent and current property management and ownership completely renovated the entire complex within the past year. The interiors were upgraded with modern countertops, cabinets, flooring and in-unit washer and dryer systems. The on-site property managers are the nicest and most helpful PMs that this complex has had since I’ve lived here. The units are also reasonably priced given the recent upgrades and location.

Recently did a tour of the Gallery apartments and I have to say, the wonderful staff (Carl) was the highlight of the tour. I even felt safe from the moment I walked in (great COVID measures). Apartments are an older building, recently renovated but they are in an awesome location (close to Radio Coffee), seem clean and the little resident gardens are adorable. Theres a nice outdoor space for relaxing as well. The price seems reasonable for the area too. All in all great tour - Thanks so much Carl for making me feel at home!

Love living here! Toured a few places around town before moving in last fall and this place was the clear winner. The apartment is fresh and clean, I love the kitchen layout with the high top bar. My roommate and I were also sold with all the communal amenities like the 2 pools, gym, outdoor patios, grills and cabana to hang out and meet friends at, which was key for us being new to the city. Work orders get taken care of very quick too!

My partner and I moved across the country and into this apartment complex in December of 2019. Beforehand, we came to search for places and The Gallery was our last stop before we caught our flight back home. Carl was professional and so kind; we got there right as the office was about to close, but he still took his time showing us all of our options. We left feeling pretty excited. He was wonderful at communication during the process and followed-up a lot.We moved here the week of Christmas and although we were excited about our new adventure - there were many issues. I wont go into detail, as I hope this was a one-off, but the condition of the unit was not acceptable for more than one reason. Although it took a while for the repairs to be completed and it took even longer to get answers from upper management; finally almost 2 months in, we are starting to feel like this is HOME and have formed a relationship with the maintenance and office team.NOTE:It is important that you set your expectations as a resident in a professional and tactful manner. Document and take photos of everything and FILL OUT the conditions form within 48 hours to cover your own butt, legally.All-in-all despite the issues, this is in a perfect location if you need to be close to the downtown area, but do not want to pay for a high-rise apartment or deal with a slum-lord. Traffic isnt atrocious like much of Austin and you dont have to go on I35 unless you want to (Why would you want to?!)Anyway, The Gallery has a long way to go in order to get a 5-star rating, but the team that they have in place at this location seems to be the team that will be able to pull it off.

I’ve lived at the Gallery for 5 years. The location is phenomenal, right off 71 with the #3 bus route right out front. The apartments are kinda tiny (i’m in a 2/2) but with 2 full baths you really can’t complain! The maintenance crew is also stellar! 💯 They are always on time and communicative about maintenance requests. They fixed my broken AC in 24 hours, and in Texas summer that means A LOT.

Ive lived here 4 years and absolutely love our new apartment manager. She actually cares and strives to do her best to make any situation right. All my needs and maintence request are taken care of quickly. Since she has taken over I feel 100% happy about where I live. Ariana thanks for making this property better! Shout out to Jon he is the best maintenance man! If you wanna live somewhere with great location, a peaceful neighborhood, and a property manager that cares, Then come live here!

I have lived here for almost 2 years. My wife and I love it. Ariana, in the office, and John, who does maintenance, are great. Ariana treats us like family with personal text messages when we have a package, or updates to our maintenance requests. John is very helpful and quick with maintenance requests, and has even helped me out with when my truck was broken down. Great people, cool property, and fantastic location.

I lived here when the property was updated and renamed The Gallery (not Woodgate). The new management turned the property around and its now a great place to live. In my experience, it was the best deal based on price, location, and quality in the 04. The management company is also reasonable and not out to get you like many others I have dealt with.

Im so sad to be leaving The Gallery after almost three years of living here! The only reason Im not staying is due to moving out of Austin -- I would never have left otherwise. The long-term residents, John (the maintenance man), and Ariana (front office) made the complex really feel like home. Ive never before lived in a place where the neighbors were so open and happy to chat!My apartment was so clean it felt new when I moved in, had updated cabinets, flooring, countertops, etc. and if I ever had any issues (which was rare!), John was on top of getting things fixed.Ariana really does go out of her way to keep this feeling like an actual community and home, and not just a place to sleep at night.There are so many different people who live in The Gallery, with so many different stories, that I wholeheartedly recommend this complex for anyone moving to Austin and wanting to get a feel of what the city is really all about. Youll feel right at home!

The people are nice. Never loud. The pool is relaxing. Its in a great location not far from downtown. Not 5 stars because the laundry machine is kinda far from the apartment. Free parking for visitors though!

Staff goes above and beyond to attend to requests and issues, are pleasant when things are brought to their attention and my maintenance requests have been addressed well in my first 2 months. New carpets, kitchen backsplash, bathroom tiles, and counters which are nice!

Although I ultimately didnt end up renting here, I do want to say that Carl was awesome to work with and incredibly professional. Carl was great with follow ups, answering my endless amount of questions, and providing me with the information I needed in order to make my decision. Definitely would recommend anyone to this complex if they are looking in South Lamar.

My son lives here he loves being close to downtown Austin and close to south Austin as well. Great community with all the amenities he likes. Plus its close to his favorite restaurants on south Lamar. Plus its easy to hop on a local scooter and hit downtown to venture around.
