I have lived here for 3.5 years and have had nothing but good experiences. Each time I’ve had to put in a maintenance request, it is resolved either the same day or within 1-2 days of the request. The landscape is well maintained with plenty of communication when a project is underway (tree trimming, repavement, annual fire inspections, etc). The Residents portal is easy to use, my neighbors are friendly and it’s generally a quiet place to live. The complex is surrounded by woods which make you feel like you’re far away in a very peaceful setting. Kudos to Riley, Justin and Dago who are problem solvers and are more than willing to help in a quick manner when needed. I love living here !

I lived at Highlands for 2 years, and every moment was fantastic! The property is well-kept, the maintenance team is quick and awesome, and I loved living here. It’s quiet despite being close to just about everything you may need, and I can say I am sad to be leaving. Shout out to the leasing office team, especially Niko, Justin, and Rylee! Thank you for a wonderful experience!

I lived at this complex for almost 6 years. The management staff has always been helpful and accommodating. Rylee has been with the company since before I moved in and was always absolutely wonderful to work with. He truly cares about the people that live in this community and has patience with any and all situations that have come his way. I will miss his friendly waves each time we passed by each other! Justin was also very helpful and friendly and I am glad he was there to get things done! It makes your living situation so much better as a renter when the office staff is efficient and kind. I also wanted to say the maintenance team was always speedy. Anytime I had an issue, it was resolved in a timely manner and they are also super friendly! I hear horror stories constantly in apartments about maintenance, but that has never been the case in my time living at the Highlands. The buildings are older, so there are going to be issues. That is just part of choosing a more established apartment. The important thing is if the people in the office and those out fixing items care and do their job. These guys do, its why I brought many friends to them over the years. I am excited to have purchased my house but am also thankful that for over half a decade, I had a great place to call home. Five stars all around!!!!

Wow! The staff here is caring beyond belief. You simply wont find a better property manager! Love the new workout facility, rentable clubhouse, and the pool open till 10pm. Great landscaping, and updated interiors in a nice neighboorhood too. A definite must see for consideration!! Thank you!

Office staff is very friendly and super informative. They always go the extra mile to make us residents feel at home and put a lot of thought into resident events. Maintenance staff is also the greatest out of any apartment complex i have lived at. They respond to service request and emergencies very quickly and their work is very efficient. One of my favorite things is how quiet and peaceful the property is. It is a very safe community for me and my family and not to mention the landscaping, clean grounds and all the nice surrounding forest around the property that makes highlands secluded and gives it its own place not surrounded by many other complexes but is still close and even within walking distance from heb and many other stores and restaurants. Amenities are great as well. The gym and clubhouse have both been recently renovated and are really nice. I just had my daughters birthday party at the clubhouse after it was done and all the family loved it and had a good time. I have lived here almost 6 years and do not plan to leave any time soon.

Well, it’s been a whole year since I first moved here and made my initial review and I can’t say enough good things about this place! I will be renewing my lease for another year and am super happy to be doing so! Angel, in the leasing office, might actually be an angel and Rylee has been so helpful in my renewal process. The staff here is AMAZING. The nature surrounding the area makes you feel out of the city while still being so close to everything you need. Neighbors are quiet and considerate. The pools are so beautiful and fun. The gym has everything I need to workout. There is always ample parking. The maintenance crew are friendly and quick to respond to any requests. I always feel safe as a woman living here. And last, but certainly not least, I cant state enough how the nature surrounding the area makes you feel at peace. We have little birds that sometimes nest around the buildings due to the fact that the complex is on a nature preserve and it absolutely makes my morning everyday to see them there. I have followed two little bird families thus far in my building and it always brings some light into my day. In opposition to an earlier review I saw, the staff is always good about cleaning up the areas around the nests of these beautiful little birds. If you aren’t heartless, I promise they will brighten your day.Seriously though guys…good people, beautiful place, and a peaceful atmosphere. Couldn’t say enough good things about this place.

I really enjoy living here at the Highlands Hill Country Apartments. Any issues I’ve had regarding maintenance was handled very quickly and with great friendly people. The office staff are always there to assist you with any questions. Highlands Hill Country is a great place to live.

I have been apartment hunting in Austin for over two months now. Sunset Valley seemed to be out of my price range but I stopped in the office on my lunch break. I am so glad I did because Lacy was able to find a reasonably priced unit that looked absolutely stunning during our tour. I will even have a move in special because every dollar counts with these Austin rent rates. I am beyond excited to become a resident and use the trail system and gym. I was beginning to think I would have to settle for a less than desirable complex in a not so great part of town. Im relocating due to maintenance negligence at my current complex and just seeing the maintenance teams presence around the whole complex brought a smile to my heart. Living at this complex will be money well spent and I look forward to a long and fruitful residency with Highlands

Had a late night issue with our AC unit during some very cold weather, so we put in for emergency maintenance request. Within a few minutes dago fixed the issue very quickly, and restored our heating. He, and the rest of the staff here always very helpful, and request are dealt with fast and with professionalism.

Since day 1 when I moved in by myself back in 2017, the leasing staff at Highlands Hill Country have been pleasant and accommodating! It is really hard to find a complex with professional and friendly staff nowadays. The maintenance crew took care of our few requests in a timely manner and worked hard to keep the grounds around the buildings maintained.The greenery and the trails in the area are a huge bonus for living there by the way!I lived in the smallest one bedroom and my fiancé and dog moved in half a year later and it worked for us during our time there...our apartment faced the pool and the noise wasn’t much of a bother.We had very little requests for maintenance which tells you the buildings are pretty sturdy. You can hear people walking upstairs but it’s not any different than other complexes.We only moved because we out grew the space and were not a fan of some of the other layouts...mostly a personal preference.Another personal preference - the interior features were a little outdated however, the complex was working on improvements this past year and I am sure those changes are in the works!The only real con are the fees but you can see that money is going back into the complex...so maybe they’re worth paying. (:It’s totally worth living here. The neighbors are so friendly, staff is friendly, maintenance works hard, the grounds are beautiful, dog park is HUGE, two pools, and their prices are competitive.You’ll end up renewing your lease, I swear! (:

Ive been living at Highlands for over a year and it has been good. I havent had any complaints about the property, its nice and quiet. The staff is absolutely amazing and are willing to do anything to make sure you are happy with your apartment. I had some roommate issues and they were there for me to solve the issue without hesitation, I would definitely recommend highlands to any family or friend who is looking for an apartment.

I lived here for over two years and overall it was a positive experience. Other reviews tend to harp on management but I can definitely say management has changed since then. They went through at least two changes though in the two years I lived there so by the time you read this review it could be completely different people. I moved out in January 2018. The actual apartments are spacious and clean. The amenities are high quality stainless steel for that fancy look. The apartments themselves really are a wonder for the price. The biggest negative to the apartments is the parking. If you leave your parking spot after 7pm you’re gonna have a hard time finding a decent spot again. Having to load tons of groceries from your car all across the parking lot to your apartment grew to be too big of a pain after a few months and I begrudgingly paid for a reserved parking spot for my last 9 months of living here. The spot cost me $30 a month but I would say it’s probably needed if you’re a night owl or tend to go out frequently. Beyond that, beware of the dog park and even the general outside area if you have a pet as there are fleas a plenty here. My dog got fleas at least twice in those two years. Worse, some dog owners allow their dogs to poo on the rocks leading into the entrance of your apartment rather than the grass. If that’s their dogs preference fine but a lot of owners here don’t pick up after their dogs but thankfully the lawn care crew and staff are good at cleaning up but it shouldn’t be their job to do so. Overall I would say move here as it is some of the highest quality living in southwest Austin but be sure to get a parking spot if you’re somewhat social.

I am a current resident about to move due to relocation and I really enjoyed living at these apartments. I was lucky enough to live near office/pool/and mail boxes. I also used the laundry facilities each week and everyone respected each others clothes (no stealing of clothes or moving of clothes). There were a couple times one of the dryers broke down and I unfortunately had to pay twice but thats inevitable to happen at any laundry facility so I wasnt upset. Love the layout of apartment and the garden tub. Maintenance responded quickly and were friendly! I also liked the vast communication emailed out with reminders and monthly newsletters. I signed lease with ease last year and the few times I go into office, I am helped with a smile. LOVE the Parcel Pending lockers. Totally worth paying for. Never had to worry about not receiving a package-got a text and an email each time I was delivered a package. If I could change one thing, it would be cabinets. The material was prone to staining. When I moved in, there were water/grease stains all in cabinets. I used drawer/shelf liners so I would often forget. Overall, I would live at the apartments again.

My husband and I love living here! We live in building 6, overlooking the forest area. Its so green and open. Occasionally we can hear our neighbors next to us banging around, but otherwise its really quiet. Maintenance is also quick to come and fix whatever issue we have. Residents arent always good at picking up after their pets, but management has sent out 2 emails in the time we have been here (9 months) telling people to pick up after their pets. The dog park is really nice and my dog loves going to run around there and meet other dogs. Our appliances are in great shape. Management has been friendly whenever I have had to interact with them. We had an issue with being charged for an extra person on our water bill and they were quick to resolve it for us. We live on the third floor so it can get a bit hot at times. Also, if you come home late, parking is limited, but honestly its not that bad to have to walk from one building over. I never feel unsafe here. Its truly a great place to live! Weve loved it since we moved in and still do. I know that is partially due to the location of our building and Im sure it can get noisier closer to the pools, but I just dont have many complaints! Our last apartment was a disaster so its nice to live in a place that is really good quality and makes us feel comfortable.

Neighbors all over the complex are quiet and friendly. Walking the grounds is like hiking in nature. Planning on living here for a long, long time!

Ive been living at Highlands close to 7 months now, and I just LOVE living here. The location is close to HEB and the Sunset Valley/Arbor Trails shopping centers which is a plus for me. The floor plan is exactly what my boyfriend and I were looking for, and the space is just so cozy. Theres a small trail that is nice to go on a walk, but also 2 pools and sitting areas to enjoy on a nice day. Anytime weve needed the maintenance team, theyve been quick to answer our request. The office team has also been SO easy to work with. Super welcoming and helpful. We had to move during the Texas Freeze, and the Assistant Manager, Rylee, was a Rockstar in getting us moved in and situated. We have typical neighborly noise here and there, but overall very happy here.

I lived here for nearly a year and a half. It was a great place to live. Wonderful amenities, great office staff, maintenance was fast and helpful, my dog loved the dog park there. The neighbors were polite, but private. I loved the set up of my apartment, very much. When I moved out they gave me all of my deposit back. I had a wonderful experience here!!

Ive only lived in these apartments for about a month, but so far so good. I havent had any troubles at all. My neighbors are great, the grounds are nice, and the staff has been very nice. The maintenance guys are great. I have had a few minor things happen in the apartment, and they came the same day and fixed them. The only thing that I dont particularly like is the people at the pool drinking alcohol and blaring their own music. When I am out swimming laps or taking my little sister swimming, that isnt particularly something that I want her subjected to. Just because some people live that lifestyle doesnt mean everybody else wants to be around it. Anyhow, that isnt something that I blame on management, just those tenants in particular. I also dont care for the VERY limited parking, especially by my building, but it isnt the worst in the world so its not a huge ordeal for me to park a little further away. I really do like this place, though. I feel safe when Im out walking my dogs alone, and that is something that is very important to me. As time goes on, I may or may not edit this.

The staff is great, the community is beautiful and clean, and its quiet and peaceful here. Between the amenities, the location, the community, the staff, and neighbors, its a great price. Its actually less expensive here than some other places around here that arent as beautiful.

This is BY FAR the best apartment complex I have lived in in Austin. The apartments are clean and have open floor plans, grounds are kept impeccable, and the staff is unbelievably amazing. I have never lived in an apartment where the staff has been this friendly and helpful and actually wants to help you. Special shout-out goes to the maintenance crew, especially Nick Flores. He went above and beyond and refused to leave until I was 150% happy with fixing my AC, and that wasnt even the main reason I put in a maintenance request but a While youre here, would you mind looking at this? issue. He knows his stuff, was fast, and was thorough. Thank you to him ALL of the HHC staff! Thank you for making this a home and not just a place to lay my head down!

Highland Hills provides a peaceful oasis in such a fun, hectic city. I enjoy living in a place with a lot of trees and green space. Everything is well kept on the property grounds and the amenities are nice I.e. the pools and fitness center. I got lucky as I choose a handful of places to visit in one day and out of the 5 properties I had to choose from Highland Hills was by far the best option.

Ive had the best experience living at Highlands Hill Country! The location is prime (very close to Mopac and 290, shopping centers with HEB, Whole Foods, Costco), the complex is quiet and beautiful (very green and full of nature) and the service is exceptional! Maintenance requests are always fulfilled very promptly and management is always willing to help and great to get along with. Thank you to the property management and especially to Justin & Rylee who have made my experience here stellar from the first day I toured!

The Highlands is the best apartment complex Ive lived in, and I have lived in so many. I ended up staying here for over three years because of the clean, beautiful space, efficient maintenance, and friendly and professional team. In particular, Rylee has been available for any questions or needs from day one. I was sad to leave The Highlands due to a move across the country, but I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to rent in the Southwest Austin area.

I moved into my first apartment at Highlands Fall 2017. It’s almost Fall 2019 now and this place is only improving. The staff (leasing agents and maintenance men, lawn people, miscellaneous contractors) are always quite friendly. The community itself is aesthetically beautiful with a nice combination of trees, wildlife, well kept buildings and porches, and the residents who live here are respectful for being a random hodgepodge of human beings (you know how some humans can be).I used to live on a first floor, two bedroom apartment. My porch view was beautiful (thank you trees and nature scenery) the rooms itself were spacious with plenty of counter space in the kitchen, a lovely living room area, and the bedrooms themselves were positioned on opposite ends allowing privacy for each roommate. Did I mention I didn’t really have to deal with noisy upstairs people? Thank youuu.Now I live on the third floor at the very top. Again, thank you trees and beautiful natural scenery! The one bedroom apartments are just as spacious, the bedroom itself is a comfortable size, and there’s a nice divide between the living room and the dining room (which I personally turned into a yoga/art studio). When I say spacious, I realized that I have to TRY and fill the entire space.Pricing wise? Yeah, saving money is wonderful and 1k May seem like a lot. Factoring in a private residential area with gate access, 2 well kept pools, a 24hr private access gym (that was just upgraded) the coolest parcel pending system ever (enter a code and a surprise lockbox just pops open I cannot get over how much I love that), wonderful CLEAN AND RESPECTFUL residents, polite and friendly staff, a great location in South Austin....1k isn’t terrible (it could be better highlands, but I won’t critique too much :)I’m really glad I resigned my lease with Highlands for the second year, they’ve been quite kind to me.I hope this helps whoever needs an honest view!Thank you!!!

Had a bad leak from a hose being worn down, regular wear and tear stuff. They sent down a maintenance guy, who came on a Saturday within 20 minutes and had us taken care of. Had a great experience with Dago the maintenance supervisor and grateful he came down and made such a mess an easy fix. Buildings obviously are a lot of upkeep but Highlands Hill Country has a solid crew on top of it👌🏼

I’ve lived at Highlands since 2019 and apart from the parking, I love it here. Kena has always been very helpful and is a wonderful property manager, but I really want to sing Rylee’s praises. The first time I met him I remember thinking about how approachable he was and is. People who work in leasing offices tend to put on a customer service smile/personality to be professional, but Rylee is just being himself. He truly cares about his job, myself, and the other residents.When I lost my phone a couple of weeks ago, Rylee went out of his way to help me find it. When I lost my keys and called maintenance to help, Rylee showed up with a new set of keys for me, and even though it was the very end of his day, he had a huge smile on his face.I have basically debilitating anxiety and it’s so hard for me to speak to people in general, let alone ask for help, but I’ve never been nervous about going to Rylee because he really does care. I recently re-signed my lease and Rylee is a huge part of why I decided to stay here.I don’t know if anyone with the power to do this will ever read this review, but if you do, please give that man a raise. He is more than deserving.

This is a property from Berkshire Communities. They have multiple properties in Austin and in the past 7 years I have been in two different complexes managed by them. Berkshire Soco and Highland Hills Country.The most important thing for me renting a property is response times. Management is ALWAYS o point with work orders. They have maintenence guys on site at all times so issues are resolved within hours. HOURS!Office staff are always very courteous and attentive. Because of them, I am still a tenant here, and plan to be until I decide to buy.Highly recommend.

Warning if you are planning on moving here I would wait till they are done repainting and working on the apartments, AND THEY JUST STARTED.IF you have children or dogs this will be unpleasant to live in. This is going over 3 weeks for just one building and they are still not done. ALSO you will not be allowed to use your patio for the time they are working on it. This is such an inconvenience and would not want anyone to move into this till it is done so you can actually enjoy the place. This place is awesome but for right now I would ask which apt. Buildings are done with work on them.

My daughter had the best personal attention by Rylee Nagar, Asst. Property Manager. She was a resident for several years and over time had special needs to be attended to. Each time she sought out Rylee because of his prompt and compassionate attention to each request. I also was the recipient of his responsive and caring concern. The move out process was handled smoothly and with flexibility. Rylee attended to all of our needs in a timely and very helpful manner. I would definitely recommend working with him. This complex is very spacious and the pricing at the time we were there - affordable especially given Austins pricing. My daughter would love to live here again if she comes back to Austin.

Extremely surprised this property has 2.3 stars and it might be because it was managed in the past by someone else. I moved here 4 years ago from Berkshire Soco, on South Congress. Same management company.Ive been with Berkshire Properties for a total of 8 years and they have ALWAYS been on point with all maintenance requests. I think is because they have 24/7 on site maintenance (or so it seems). I had my air-conditioning out one summer night in 2016 around 11pm. There was a maintenance guy by midnight at my home. And thats EXACTLY what you are looking for in an apartment complex. Fast maintenance response times.I just signed another year and half with them. I have yet changed a single light bulb at my place. They do EVERYTHING. Change of air filters? Call them. A cabinet door dont close porperly? Call them. Water heater too hot? Call tthe. They are Fast and efficient. 5 stars!

Honestly, I LOVE living here. Moved in not to long ago and everything has been a breeze. The office staff are so helpful and genuinely kind. They always answer any questions and sooth any concerns I may have - and I often have a lot. Im so glad I moved here.

Had a great experience with one of the new maintenance members, Adam. Really down to earth guy, fixed a leak Lickety split and also had a great conversation with me. They must have a good screening process down there cause they definitely have a solid group a guys helping out 👍🏼

Great community in a convenient location. Property is beautiful and well kept. This is a great spot for dogs with their dog park and access to walking/ hiking trails.Management is attentive and helpful.

Had hot water heater out and Adam came out same-day (within several hours, actually!) to fix it. Between rain and the season, I was surprised to have the non-emergency maintenance request resolved so quickly and really appreciated the extra effort. Thank you!

Ive lived here for 3 years and have had no issues with management. When the upstairs neighbor unplugged their washer and didnt turn off the water, which flooded our apartment, it was taken care of immediately.
