The visitor center is a must stop shop prior to going and looking at community. Community liaison Venus was very helpful, she explained all types of information for the community and all builders. Answered lots of questions I had and gave me a very educational virtual outlook on their 50 inch Tablet monitor. Highly recommended when coming to the Highlands prior to start your home search. Thank you visitor center.

As a Houston Realtor and proud resident of THE HIGHLANDS neighborhood in Porter, Texas, I cant say enough about the incredible amenities this community offers. I recently took a video tour showcasing the highlights, and Im thrilled to share my experience! The golf cart tour around THE HIGHLANDS is a fantastic way to explore the beautifully landscaped grounds and see everything the neighborhood has to offer. One of the standout amenities is the state-of-the-art pickleball courts, perfect for staying active and enjoying the outdoors.Living in THE HIGHLANDS in Porter, Texas, truly feels like a dream. The community is welcoming, they even have a visitor center and a lifestyle coordinator! The amenities are top-notch, and the lifestyle is unparalleled. If youre considering a move, dont miss out on this gem. Watch a glimpse of my video to see for yourself what makes THE HIGHLANDS so special!#THEHIGHLANDS #PorterTexas #GolfCartTour #PickleballCourts #LuxuryLiving #CommunityAmenities #HoustonRealtor #Realtor #RealtorHouston

This review is from a prospective Southern Californian moving to Houston in Sept 2024.Coming from the 99 toll way, The Highlands grand entrance with a waterfall into a pond is impressive! Driving along mature trees and coming to the main artery in front of Mirror Lake is magnificent and will give you the wow factor. We first went to the Welcome Center. The black woman greeted and treated us professionally and offering us drinks! Impressive since were used to just getting a Hey from Southern California! She explained very clearly without rushing. The visit to the Welcome Center gives you an overall idea and layout of the entire master planned community at its present state as well as what is coming (the pool, water park etc is being constructed at this time). She was so professional that even after a week we came back to California, she called and made sure all of our questions and concerns were addressed! Im old school, and I remember a time that kind of customer service was a gold standard! Now its a rarity. If you like the forested north of Houston, you should consider The Highlands. The luxurious amenities such as golf, trails, waterpark, pool, tennis, new school, etc are top notch and creates a resort living. The roads are wide (as compared to other new master planned communities).Because the community is perhaps catered to higher middle class, it doesnt have the same diversity as Meridiana, Sunterra, and others. This community has elegance and has the look and feel of luxury. And I wish there is a gated section! considering the sections along the mirror lake are $750K + and above $1M+. I dont understand that there are new gated communities in the suburbs of Houston that are at $350K+?!!! I would be willing to pay extra HOAs for a manned or electronic gated section. The future pool and other amenities should also be considered. Weve been to other new communities in Houston that their pool is way too small for the number of residents in those communities. Resulting in over crowding, lack of parking at facilities etc...Once the pool and waterpark are finished and operational, Im sure there will be lifeguards employed (just based from my observations from other new communities). The issue to that is during weekdays, they close these facilities because there are NO lifeguards on duty. Just be aware that these are the pros and cons (not to developer) but HOA policies. If you plan to commute a lot, the Highlands is situated strategically near 99 and sandwich between 45fwy and 69fwy and major places to go are within 30mins.Not sure if this is a policy of the developer or HOA but I wish ALL the builders would keep a buffer zone or easement in the backyard to preserve the trees instead of mowing them all. The Woodlands Hills has this 7 feet easement in their backyard and thats the reason why their community looks more forested. After all, the theme of this master planned community is preserving nature and trails. Hence, the 4 stars.Overall, the Highlands is in our top 3 master planned communities.

There is a street of model homes offered by most of the builders in the community. I find that feature to be really valuable in showing the upscale options each builder brings to the table.

Beautiful, forested community that blends the best of nature and the comforts of home. The trails and signage make you feel like youre in a National Park.
