    Ive been with Scott Brown for almost 4 years now . And Ive never once had an issue like others are talking about . I dont work for them nor do I have family with them . I pay my rent on time and if Im ever going to be late which is very rare . I let them know ..all my maintenance issues have been fixed . Kyle makes sure of it . All the maintenance men Al and Clint , Paul and others have been so kind to me . Yes some of these houses are older you have to understand that when you rent one . They need TLC the foundation comes with an older house its wonky in some spots .you have to make it work . Do your homework when you rent an older home. I love my home I love my neighbors I love my back yard . My little house is like a cottage vibe . Kyle is an awesome and outstanding manager and the staff is amazing too

    I lived at Centennial Apartments (1126 Avenue A) for two years back in 2020, and it was a great experience! Everything was always clean and well-maintained, and I never had any issues. The neighbors were very friendly, and the application process was simple. I stayed with my friends in three different apartments, and we all loved it. It’s also super close to UNT—just a 10-minute walk to the Union, where you can catch buses to anywhere on campus.

    I moved my son in to a SBP in July 2023 so he could attend UNT. So far, its been a good experience. All of the leasing agents and managers I met and corresponded with were knowledgeable and professional. The online application process, maintenance requests, and bill pay are convenient and easy to use. The apartment and property are well maintained. I had a few minor items that should have been redone before moving in, such as fresh paint to remove remanents of the previous tenants and some other minor wear and tear. But, the things that really matter, such as central air, up-to-date appliances, in unit washer dryer, secure doors and windows, and plenty of lighting, are functioning as expected.

    I have been a resident for 4 years and have had a very good experience with the Scott Brown Group. The management team has been wonderful: Nena Coker is very professional as well as kind and empathetic, and Kyle Mullins knowledgeable and efficient. The maintenance team is awesome! My AC went out and within an hour, they came to take care of it. Very happy with my experience as a resident and do recommend!

    I have lived at an address managed by Scott Brown for a little over a year. I have heard many people complain about the customer service, or lack thereof. My experience has been very different. I have received excellent customer service from everyone. The maintenance staff is always quick to respond to requests I submit and are always knowledgeable about the issues. I want to give a shout out to Evan who is usually the person who responds to my requests. He is always respectful and always asks if there is anything else I need done. Thank you so much for the outstanding customer service always!

    Ive lived a lot of places in Denton over the last 10 years renting, and I usually would never expect to have a quality renting experience with such a large company. So far, I am very pleased with their efficiency, communication, and attention to all details of my move and maintenance requests. I like that the maintenance guy texts me when he arrives at my place, tells me what he is there to fix (peace of mind hes got the right issue), and lets me know when things are done or asks for some follow up information. My place has had some electrical issues which were annoying, but I dont feel like the company is putting off repairs. Jocelyn in the office is also very responsive via email. Like I said, pleasant surprise given how many other apartments are run by basically slum lords!

    Ive lived at one of their complexs since March 2022, I love this company. Everyone is super nice and always willing to help. Best part, I never have to wait more than two days to have someone fixed in my apartment. Ive told all my friends about this company as their prices are also very affordable for singles and college students! 10/10 recommend!

    I have been a tenant of Scott Brown Properties for 4 or 5 yrs now, I have read all the negative reviews on them, In my experience with them , they have been wonderful. My family and I moved in an desperate time of need and they were the only ones willing to help us! Like Ive previously stated , they have been great, when we have an issue they send someone the same day or the following business day! The contractors and/or the employees are always very courteous. Nena@scottbrownproperties is my property manager and she is always very pleasant, professional and, courteous of our specific needs!!!! They are a great place to rent from!!!!

    I cant say enough good things about my experience with Scott Brown properties. I am so impressed! Finding a place was easy, the process seamless, and the staff professional and responsive. Every work order has been completed in record time, and Tammy in the office is a doll. She went above and beyond to ensure I got into my space quickly and comfortably with last minute changes to my move in date. She truly cares about the customer, and you can tell she loves her job.     Jonathan (the maintenance guy) is “the real deal”! He gladly fixed everything on my to-do list within hours. Besides the general maintenance, he replaced a ceiling fan and a kitchen faucet. He definitely has some skills.

    We live at one of the Scott Brown Properties and I have to say that I am impressed up and down from the staff across the board. Recently, we had a small issue and I called to put in a maintenance request. Jason came out and was super professional, well spoken, and just over-all nice, friendly, and cool. Shortly after, Samantha called to follow up and make sure everything was good. She was friendly and very easy to talk to. I thought the follow up call was a very nice touch to show that they care. It made my day. Both of them are tremendous assets to an already great company. Based on my experience, I would recommend to others to go with Scott Brown Properties and I plan on being with them too. Thank you Jason and Samantha and the rest of the Scott Brown Properties team for everything yall do on a daily basis. 5 stars for sure 👍

    I am pleased with my overall experience at Scott Brown, especially because of how they wonderfully they worked with me at the end of my first lease with them (which I will explain later). I moved into a 2 bed/2 bath in August 2017 and unfortunately in my roommates room there was a pet odor, and so she was unable to sleep in her room for the first couple weeks of living here. After multiple carpet cleanings and phone calls, the owner decided to rip out the carpet and replace it with wood flooring which was wonderful! After that we had a couple issues such as flooding in my roommates bathroom but that was due to the apartment above us having a pipe that burst, and also maintenance tended to be a bit on the slower side, but the workers were always courteous. Also sometimes there tended to be a lack of communication between different departments. So because of the above mentioned issues I give it 4 stars instead of 5.I was absolutely, incredibly grateful however at the end for the way in which Crystal and Nena went above and beyond to help me! My lease was ending early August 2018, and I was moving into another one of their properties afterwards. However my roommate began having huge financial issues which prevented her from paying me rent in April, May and June of 2018 and so being a student I had exhausted my tax refund and all my resources into paying her half of the rent in addition to my own. I then went in and spoke to them at the end of June to see whether or not theyd be able to take my payment as a partial payment and give us grace till she could come up with her half of the payment, because I knew that I absolutely could not pay her half of the rent in July as well as my own due to my resources being depleted completely. After discussing the situation they decided to let us out of our lease in the middle of July instead of August, which saved me from having to pay the full amount of Julys rent and also the first week of August at the old place, and also worked with me to bump up my move in date to my new property as well to around the same time as my move out of the old place. I am therefore EXTREMELY thankful to them for this, because I dont think that anyone else would have done this for me, because usually when you sign a lease regardless of whether or not your roommate or even you fall upon hard times, you have to pay the full amount, for the entire period stated on the lease and are not allowed to get out early. So I am overall VERY pleased with the level of care, understanding and professionalism shown by them! :-)

    Honestly, best landlord we have had. Went through 4 different property managers in a college town and Scott Brown was surprisingly pleasant. They always sent maintenance over quickly, treated us like humans when we were late one day for rent, and gave us our full deposit back on our home. I recommend 100%. Very good experience with them.

    Well Ive been with Scott brown for going on 5 years now and the house we are in now was needing some things taken care of, well nothing would get done right away but come to find out the person who was in charge of relaying the message to the maintenance wasnt doing their job and no longer works there and when we let the right people know it was taken care of right away. The guys that came out where great and got the job done super fast. Ill keep doing business with SBP as long as they keep up the great customer service.

    UPDATE JULY 6TH ...I had an issue with my dryer not staying on and made a maintenance request yesterday and today AL is here he always does such a good job he took apart my whole dryer and cleaned it out and then replaced the breaker now its up and running he also noticed that my front door wasnt sealed so hes putting a new one on now ..UPDATE AS OF APRIL 2023 ...had a major gas leak last week and Kyle the property manager and Al and another plumber were ON IT ..Kyle the property manager has always been nothing but kind to me and Al is so cool and nice so respectful i just had spinal surgery and he was so concerned every time I came to the door and made sure I didnt fall ..they work so very hard al had to get under the dang house which is a super tight squeeze and so gross and dirty under there to fix the issue and another plumber was with him helping him who was just as nice and professional and worked so hard too ...THANKS GUYS FOR ALL YOUR HARD WORK !!!!! ....Heres an update since Ive moved in on Sept 2022 so my house here is VERY old. Most houses here in Denton are ..And when I moved in here I didnt have much to chose from because everything was getting snatched up quickly ..However Ive had to have alot of things repaired but let me tell you they are ALWAYS on top of fixing things even when Im a pain in the butt and get inpatient lol. When my ac wasnt working correctly they were at my house after hours within 20 min at 11pm at nite ..Nena is so awesome she handles the rent and whenever I have had any issue shes so nice and resolves it with me on the phone .Al the maintenance guy and Jonathan are so friendly and work so hard ...every place you read reviews nobody is ever going to have top notch comments ..idk I like renting from them . Hopefully Im allowed to renew to something a bit more newer when my lease comes upUPDATE 8/1/2024 had a huge project that needed repaired ..I rent an older house and it need some love and the wood on the side of the house needed gutted and replaced .sure enough Kyle approves the project and has the most amazing maintenance man I call him Mr Paul ..and his helpers come over he knows his stuff and takes great pride in it too . He wants to make sure everything is done PROPERLY ..Kyle the manager even had landscapers come out and trim all the million trees I have and rake up all the leaves .. and didnt charge me a dime ..hes an awesome guy cant say enough great things ..

    I was so scared to even try to rent here, but really needed an apartment so I called and left a message with someone named Crystal and she helped me get into an apartment. She was professional and explained that the employees were cleaned out and replaced last year, so I gave them a chance. So far everything has gone great, and the apartment is super nice. I hope current people who know the new employees write reviews to help the company recover from the old reputation.

The maintenance guy name Nathan and the older guy was very good at the job and they kept me informed when I was not home at work they were in my home and when they were done ,that gave me a great piece of mind I appreciate them for doing that,

    Crystal was absolutely wonderful and my experience with Scott Brown Properties was prompt and pleasant. I will be leasing from them for a very long time! The maintenance crew is also great; they came out and fixed my microwave the same day I put in the order!

    Maintenance workers are sent quickly and they have a 24/7 emergency line available. Not sure what the name of the maintenance worker is but he is a very kind man and over delivers on repairs which I greatly appreciate. I believe he is employed solely by Scott Brown and works on their properties. Will update with his name soon.For pests, I believe they hire third party exterminators and you’re better off trying to deal with pests yourself. For roaches/insects buy pure boric acid powder and a puff sprayer and spray all around edges of house lightly. Also buy high quality poison and place dots of poison on aluminum foil patches around the house in areas you suspect the pests frequent. This worked decently for me after having to deal with the pests myself even after two exterminator visits.Overall the apartment I got on Fallmeadow Court was a good deal ($995 for ~1000 sq ft), but living there takes some labor if you want a good experience. I dealt with rats and roaches by myself and took a few months to get rid of them and live comfortably. Still have some appearances of roaches from time but not enough to ruin my experience here. Electric outlets in home are outdated and have no ground at, you will need to buy adapters to plug in any 3 pronged plugs. They are $1 for 2 at Walmart but they are inconvenient to use sometimes. Make sure to screw them in using the outlet cover screw or else they will unplug easily. If you are trying to save money they have some decent apartments which are a good size for the price. Just make sure you do your research and tour the apartment/house and check for any issues that would be inconvenient if you live there for a year. Also remember that if you have pests during first month of move in it’s the landlord’s legal obligation to get rid of them and you should not stop calling until they solve the issue.

    I would rate a big FIVE star. Crystal Edwards replied me very quickly and answered my questions. Within an hour, I could book my desired apartment without any troubles because of her. She is perfectly wonderful, friendly, fast and generous and I recommend everyone to contact her for Apartment inquiries. This is the best place I have ever lived in. Management is perfect.

    So far, so good! My SO and I went to check out an apartment. The very friendly Ms. Paige showed up on time and walked us through the apartment (which looked pretty good!) She filled us in on any questions we had about leasing, rent, deposits, and any restrictions on pet ownership. At the leasing office, we were greeted by another friendly lady- Ms. Jocelyn- who walked us through the application process with a smile.Cant say much else- still too early to tell- but at the very least, the customer service is exceptional.

Never had to wait too long for maintenance, always gotten an answer when I had a question about my lease, and they have been really cool about everything during the COVID-19 pandemic.     The entire office staff is very helpful and on-point with their information. Parker, in particular, was extremely personable and reliable. He did an excellent job of keeping me informed and at-ease during my moving period, which is generally a stressful time. He was also willing to speak with the owner of the property, personally, in order to ensure that my medium-sized dog would be approved, AND he placed me in a property with a dog park very close by!! Best renting experience Ive had in 10 years of being a Dentonite :)

    Ricky, with the maintenance team, came to my home on June 25, 2019 to make repairs. He was extremely knowledgeable, very patient with my questions and made sure everything was taken care of. Anything that he needed to be submitted for an additional maintenance request, he explained everything accurately and correctly to the team so the additional repairs could be made efficiently. TROY came and did additional repairs today, 7/18/19, in my home. He was very courteous, kind and knowledgeable and made the repairs quickly. I would highly recommend BOTH RICKY AND TROY, with the maintenance team at Scott Brown Properties!

    I lived at University Manor for 3 years while attending UNT. The property was right next to campus, so I could walk or skate to class every day. The staff was awesome. Maintenance was always prompt and helpful. The offices were always polite and respectful. They made it very possible for me to pay for my own living space and go to school. For that, I am incredibly grateful.

    I am a new renter, and my daughter worked with Chrystal to find the perfect apartment for my needs & preferred location. I have to agree with the others who say that Chrystal goes above & beyond; she has great resources to work with, and will do whatever she can to ensure a tenants needs & wants are met in a complete & timely manner. A couple of weeks after moving in, I noticed a security issue & contacted Jocelyn in maintenance. She & her new maintenance crew took care of the issue right away, and I could not thank them enough. Due to being disabled, security & comfort are primary concerns of mine, & I sincerely appreciate their efficiency & promptness in getting things resolved. The maintenance team, especially Clint, are always well-mannered and go out of their way also to ensure that any & all repairs are completed to your satisfaction. Thank you, Scott, Chrystal, Jocelyn, Clint and everyone else on the team. I plan on being here for quite some time, & it is a pleasure to know that everything is being taken care of by such reliable, kind & friendly people.

    I was relocating to texas from NY and having a super hard time with finding a lease. I called and spoke to Crystal about finding a 1 bedroom 1 bathroom with my SO and my dog. She was so helpful and I now have a nice apartment for myself and my SO and puppy! There were tons of properties to choose from , most reasonably priced and really nice. The reviews I read online and articles are written from a prior staff that is no longer there and the current staff is warm, welcoming and awesome. Give them a try.

    Honestly since Ive read some of these other reviews, I dont know if Im just lucky or what. But everything so far has been good. Ive had a few things wrong that I needed maintenance for and every time they have been able to come the same day or the next day. Renting was pretty smooth despite some issues I had and Jason and the other staff were super helpful in solving the problems. I can see where some people come from saying the staff is rude and doesnt care cause sometimes it seems like that when Ive called the office or come in some of the staff kind of acts like theyre too busy to talk to you. But its not like these are luxury apartments do you really expect 5 star treatment? For the price of the apartments everything has been great so far for me.

    Scott Brown came into me and my family’s life at what I feel was the lowest point. Everything was done quickly so me and my family would have a home just in time for Christmas in 2016 and we’ve been here ever since. Nena is so amazing, compassionate, understanding and flexible if you just communicate with her she’ll do everything she can to help you. Jocelyn and Al (my fav maintenance guy) always come through for me no matter what I need and it’s always done quickly and beyond my expectation, and Kyle is awesome too!     They are very professional and responsive. I spoke to Scott Brown initially and he was friendly and transparent about the whole process of setting up an account with them. He connected me to Kyle Mullens. Kyle Mullens is very responsive, professional, and accurate on tasks to perform. I have been busy with my work and personal life, and I was worried that I wasnt keeping up with the process, mainly things that I would have to do or figure out, but at the end, I came to understand that Kyle already finished everything for me. I really just had to locate the keys for him, and he has done rest of the work to rent out the place really quick and neatly.     I am currently renting from Scott Brown and have always had the pleasure of dealing with David. He has always been quick to respond to my voicemails and getting me in touch with maintenance when I have an issue. In November when I had a hot water heater issue, he made sure they came out that day to help. If I wasnt graduating in the summer I would love to continue renting from Scott Brown Properties.

    First time i went to this place i thought it was gonna be like any other office environment where the clerk is always busy and you have to wait to get helped... i was wrong.My reason for visiting was to ask about an apartment for school purpose. I came in close to closing time but the wonderful front desk (Genesis) was really nice and helped me. Despite the fact that their were other people in their and the phone ringing she multi-tasked very well and informed me well on the apartment i was looking for. At about 5-10 minutes to closing time i decide to fill my application and (Crystal) was extremely helpful and patient even after it was 5:30 PM which was the current closing time. She helped me fill out my application and along with Genesis, they both processed all my information and got my apartment secured. A guy named Scott is pretty cool too.Recap, if you go to Scott Brown Properties say Hello to (Genesis, Crystal & Scott), they are great people.

    I am very impressed with Samantha in maintenance. When my girlfriends apartment lost hot water she was great with communicating about what was going on. She even came in on Saturday night and sent her a text letting her know that it was being addressed. Not to many people would care that much about their job to work on a day that she doesnt normally work.     Just finished up working with Troy with Scott Brown Maintenance. He is a great guy and fixed all the issues we had. He helped get our fence back up and replaced one of our locks. He even went out of his way to fix a bar (for lack of better terms) on our walkway. A really nice guy and is great at his job.

    I have lived at my apts. Since 2011. Like living here simply because not a large complex. Jocelyn responds to my maintenance request on the first day I send one in. Recently Clint put new Ceiling fan light in my bedroom looks really nice and my Kitchen counter tops were refurbished also. When needed got Kitchen Appliances replaced also. Very Important to keep our Complex looking nice Thank you both for all yal do.

    We moved in back in June of 2020. We had some issues with the A/C right after we moved in. I contacted them and they had an A/C tech out the next day. The tech told them the whole a/c system needed to be replaced. So within a few days, we had a brand new system put in!! Samantha was great. I called just a month ago and spoke to Kyle and let him know we needed a bigger home, and he was on the hunt asap. Also we all know 2020 was rought, and Nena who does the payments is a lifesaver. When things got tight, I called her and she was so understanding and helpful! She even was able to drop our late fees! Nena was empathic to our situation, and never made us feel like we were wanted criminals!Thank you so much Nena for bring so understanding!! Yall rock!!!

    Met with Crystal for a showing at a duplex in Irving. The unit was bright, sunny, and clean with vaulted ceilings. I had been looking at houses of which many were unprepared (in my opinion) for showing. So, this was a pleasant surprise, in addition, Crystals personality helped seal the deal.     Scott Brown Properties management and maintenance of property has consistently been friendly, fast and generous. As a student on a budget, SBP has worked with me on several occasions to make sure I got maintenance service and rent at a reasonable rate...not many property managements would do that. I highly recommend them.I think some tenants should experience NYC landlord policies to get some perspective on how good we have it here in Denton.My rent in NYC was $1700/month for a 5th floor walkup, no WD, no DW and no parking. SBP has affordable housing right off campus and I have recommended them to several people without complaints.

    The Scott Brown Team is the best. My daughter moved into one of their units by TWU. The unit is perfect for her senior year. From the very beginning dealing with Kori Maslakow on inquiring about a property, to looking at the unit with Kyle West, to the ease of getting all of the paperwork completed and finally the quickness of move in day (the front office staff were efficient and courteous) they made move in day a success. And to top it off both Kori and Kyle went above and beyond to help us with paperwork needed in a very timely and efficient manner.     This is my last month at scott brown properties, and I had great experiences. Here is what I would like to share;1. fast responsewhenever I had problems, their responses are quick. They response and fixed within allowable business days.2. Price calculation.As you know, many other properties receive a whole month pay when you move in/out. This properties dont scam you. If you move out July 29th? you will not pay the rest of the rent (e.g., 30th, 31st). If you move in June 29th? You do not have to pay 1st to 28th rent.Again, I have lived many student apartment, but I realized that many properties such as gateway at denton apt. try to get money from you, so you have to pay full month. For example, when I moved in gateway, their official moving in date was almost at the end of the month, and I paid full month rent, which was un-fair policy for residents.3. Variety housing/price options.You know it.Some people complain about quality of apt, but I will not do it because I believe that it is depending on level of price. At least, I think that they set the price depending on appropriate level of quality.Good luck of your housing!
