They were extremely professional in setting up the appointment. Mathew, the technician, showed up exactly on time. He couldn’t have been more capable or concerned with the issues I was having with my solar panels. He bent over backwards to make sure my panels got up and running, which included an hour and a half in the phone with the manufacturer. I’m impressed.If you’ve never dealt with solar panel installers - watch out. So many are going to rip you off and not provide what you need. Use Solar Smart Living - they were A+

Solar Smart Living turned out to be a great company. I was a little sceptical because it was hard to contact them at first but when the technician came to service my solar system he was amazing. So professional and knowledgeable. He really knows his stuff. He showed me all about the system and how to tell if its working properly and some safety info that was very helpful. I was told that the computer at smart living had gone down and kick me out from the online monitoring and I was charged for it. It wasnt my internet for equipment that was defective.

I found myself constantly having to reach out for updates, which was frustrating. This was not due to Ofelia, but rather other representatives who were less responsive. The installers truly know what they are doing they are experts. They were flexible on the installation for example, I didt want any pipes or conduits showing in the front of my house so they found another better way to route the cabling. I wish I had reached out to Solar Smart Living 9 months ago. New Mexico Solar Group screwed me by taking my loan money and going out of business with it. I was left with a disconnected solar system, not getting extras I paid for, and several broken promises. I hope to one day break even. It’s a good thing my Sales Person Jesus and project Manager Carlene went to work for Solar Smart Living and with their help, the process of getting my panels completely running started. It was a long and terrible process to get things going but finally their foreman Javier finally saved the day. Javier was very responsive and he and his crew helped me as much as possible pass inspections and to get my panels at 100%.

I wish there was some coordination.

I met with several companies that install solar panels in El Paso in person and on the phone. This company had a person physically walk on and inspect the roof to be able to give me a complete assessment and plan for the system very quickly. The communication was very good. They dealt with EP electric efficiently. My system was installed in a day. I was away at the time and to check to make sure the install had happened because there was absolutely no mess of any kind anywhere. More importantly the install passed the inspection the next day. I am now waiting for the meter to be installed. I was a given the timeline for that so I know when will be connected. The price per KW was no different than other vendors. I was able to get the system I wanted in terms of KW. It was nice to work with a local company that has boots on the ground here. Highly recommend Solar Smart Living to anyone in this area.

So, today I received a courtesy visit from your representative, Ivan Gonzalez. What a great thing for a company to offer, specially after the heavy winds weve experienced these past days. Ivan was super helpful and courteous, he performed a diagnostic on my installed system and detected a few faults in the main panel (fault lights due to the constant vibration from heavy winds), quickly corrected those by resetting the system. As an engineer with >30 years of experience, I know that I am a tough sell. Several solar companies were going door to door to solicit business in our area, so I explored their proposals while also investigating other solar companies serving El Paso. In short, Solar Smart Living (SSL) secured my contract and they blew the competition out of the water!SSL had the best components, their own experienced employees in all areas (sales, engineering, installation, and accounting), actual leadership engagement, great service, fast response times, on-time delivery and a great PRICE! Other companies couldnt compare in any of these categories. The others seemed more interested in selling financing deals than quality systems. Most companies contract out the installation, do not provide full local service, and use one or more components that are not satisfactory.My experience with SSL, was outstanding from start to finish. Mike Allen in the sales department took the lead providing the initial presentation and excellent service throughout the project. Mike was far more versed in solar than the representatives from the other contenders. Due to the technical nature of some of my questions, when Mike couldn’t answer me, he lined up Javier in SSL Engineering to answer me. (NOTE - with all of the other solar companies I was never able to talk to an actual person in their engineering department or their leadership.) The owner of SSL, Larry Perea answered my questions about his business history and practices, and even texted me when he was out of town.The fourth quarter is SSLs busiest season as customers want their systems installed by year end to take advantage of the tax incentive. When I signed the contract, SSL said the system would be installed by year end and they even beat their mid-December install target date by several days.Throughout the project SSL took care of everything effectively: design, approval with EP Electric, permits, installation, inspection, meter updates with EP Electric and commissioning. Tony, Austin, and the installation crew were great and on time. Tony is a journeyman electrician whos been with SSL for 8 years. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. Austin lead the roof installation and was equally professional. I was able to consult real time with Javier in engineering when some panels needed to be repositioned due to stack penetrations. The repositioning didn’t cause the installation crew to skip a beat. What a great thing to have experienced full-time crews!After installation, the El Paso inspector was out within a few days. It was another week to wait on EP Electric meters and then they turned on the system. The final step was for the SSL tech to activate the online system-monitoring account with a cool mobile app, and then I paid the final installment with Rosa who was delightful. All in all a great experience and a great deal with a fantastic local company. We are fortunate to have this level of solar company in El Paso!

Im going to post our current electric bill. I don’t really even have to say much after that!! If you are thinking about it… do it!! (This was one week of solar that got installed end of Dec!)On a side note…. I talked with several companies and this was the one we were very confident with. Our rep Edgar is so patient and awesome. He didn’t get irritated every time I told him I need more time to research. He was very willing to ensure I understood everything.We bought a new home build in sept. Solar smart living found problems with my roof that I would not have known if we didn’t get solar! Our builders fixed it under warranty. But we are beyond grateful that they didn’t ignore it and just add panels despite issues with the roof! They are very trustworthy.Solar smart living has been a pleasure to work with. You have to remember these solar companies come and go bankrupt. Make sure u go with a company that is in it for the long haul to protect your warranties

This company is great when it comes to service but falls short when equipment fails. In my 3 years of having solar panels. I have had the equipment fail twice on me. This has caused me to lose money because my system didnt generate enough solar power due to equipment t failure. I was advised that the system would be monitored by SML and they would catch issues likes this. Both times I caught this issues and this was a month into having the issues. I have yet to been notified by SML that my systems is not performing as it should. I have to catch it and notify them. The one thing I will say. They do come out and fix it immediately but due to equipment failure. I am the one at a loss here. I wish they would look more into my loss as a customer due to their parts of faulty equipment. There is more to correct than just the faulty equipment.Aside from my complaint. This company is great and by far has exceed the horror stories I have heard about other companies. I have recommended them to other people and so far the systems have worked so I am not sure if maybe I have just had a few issues on my system alone but hopefully not everyone has had these types of problems.Update. I have had the system now for almost 5 years and the customer service is still top notch. I had to call a few times about certain small issues but these issues did not cause me to lose any money or electricity. They did a great job and equipment is still functioning as it should. I think I might go off the grid here soon and I will have this company do the install.

After preparing the estimate based off my electric bill, he showed me it was too low to benefit from solar, thanks to the minimum $30 bill due to El Paso electric. Of all the companies I spoke with, Solar Smart Living was the only one that wasnt pushing me to buy something I didnt need. For this reason I highly recommend Jaime and Solar Smart Living.

Not only did he answer his phone when I called the first time, he was so kind and helpful in troubleshooting our current solar system, spending time with my wife and I as we asked questions and ran through our entire setup. I had a 10Kw system on my roof installed last year. They did a fantastic job!! They took care of everything including the electric company permits. My summer monthly bill is 1/4 what it used to be Our winter bills are about 6 bucks. Also they keep their promise about referrals. I highly recommend them. And ask for the panels with the built in AC plug, that way you still have power in a power outage.

Here it is 5 plus years later and Im still learning from their knowledge pool if solar energy experts.Kudos to the entire team!!******Solar Smart Living, LLC out of Sunland Park, NM, recently installed a Solar Energy System on my residence. I have to say the total experience was outstanding; from the initial contact (and I contacted several solar installers) I was totally impressed with the company. I dealt directly with the Owner on the initial contact and was never pressured into a sale. At the initial meeting to discuss the system proposed, I was given ample opportunity to research the panels, inverter and equipment recommended as well as the current usage and power generation specification documentation provided by Solar Smart Living, LLC. After review of the proposal I did have a couple of technical questions which were promptly, professionally, and completely answered to include providing reference material (web-site information and literature) to verify the answer for myself. Once I made the decision to go with Solar Smart Living, LLC they handled all of the necessary paperwork and notification with the city of El Paso and the El Paso Electric through the entire process. On installation day six workers showed up and truly worked as a team to expeditiously and professionally install the system. The entire installation took approximately 7 hours and being a busy-body I was periodically with them up on my roof and on the side of my house where the electricity comes in from the city; during this time I was taking pictures of the installation process and asking questions of the different team members. It was refreshing to see that all of them could answer my questions without hesitation and satisfied my quest for knowledge of what they were doing or about a specific piece of equipment they were installing. After the installation, the El Paso City inspection and the El Paso Electric field inspection, which both passed without any need for adjustments, I was immediately able to turn the system on with the guidance of the Solar Smart Livings owner. By that same afternoon Solar Smart Living, LLCs main office sent me an e-mail with the needed Solar Edge registration information so I could login to their web-site and immediately start monitoring my systems performance. As of today the system is performing as promised and I have already seen it feeding electricity back into the El Paso Electric Companys grid which is a very good feeling. Overall from the initial contact to the post installation and equipment start-up Solar Smart Living, LLC, was very attentive to the ongoing process and immediately answered any and all questions I had during the entire process. I am totally impressed!!!

This is the company you must use!When Solar Smart Living installed solar panels to heat our pool 9 years ago we didnt have enough roof space to install photovoltaic panels for electricity.Technology has advanced since then and we have now installed solar panels that supply 99% of our estimated usage of electricity.The process was extremely easy with Solar Smart Living taking care of all the neccessary paper work. The panels were installed on our tile roof without any problems.Solar Smart Living is a local company and promptly takes care of any issues, should they arise. SSL was very professional in all their interactions with me. They were able to provide detailed estimates beforehand and completed all the work in a timely and expert manner. They kept to their original cost estimate. My 4.4KW system has been in operation for 2.5 years and the electric savings are around what they projected.While installing the system I gave some misinformation to one of the electricians. When I recognized my mistake many months later (when I couldnt get my exterior Christmas lights to work), they came out and re-did the wiring at no extra cost.The whole system looks very nice on the roof as well.

Just had Solar Smart Living install a Level 2 ChargePoint Home Flex charging station for my Electric Vehicle. I am beyond impressed. As a test, I drove my EV approximately 90 miles before charging at the L2 Station. I was able up to the maximum charge in under 3 hours. On a dedicated circuit, I was able to charge about 30 miles per hour of charging for all of about $2 USD at nominal utility rates. This *sure* beats paying gas prizes. Dont think I will ever buy another gas vehicle again.
