    We’ve known Charles from Modern Air at Katy for almost 12 years. He has installed a total of four complete systems/units, including in our present house and old house inside the loop. I also have had my parents utilize his services. We have been with him for this long because he is excellent in his trade and GENUINE in his character. Charles is extremely trustworthy, easy to contact, promptly responsive, and very reliable. He will take care of your home. We are fortunate he has helped us out thus far.

    I cannot recommend Charles enough! During the most recent hurricane, our A/C broke down, and with a newborn at home, it was crucial to get it fixed quickly. While many companies were unavailable, Charles went out of his way to come help us.He arrived promptly and was incredibly professional. Not only did he quickly diagnose the problem, but he also explained everything in a way that made sense and with a fair price.     Charles came to our rescue in the middle of the night when we realized our AC wasn’t cooling our house (pregnant with two littles, I desperately needed someone to come but had no responses from several larger companies I had called). He was SO responsive, professional, and quick. He was very kind and got our house cooling in no time. From the time I called, he had it fixed within the hour. I definitely would recommend!

    What a remarkable experience from beginning to end. The communication was amazing and straightforward. They didn’t try to oversell me on anything and showed me my current set up with explanations on possible solutions.     Our AC unit broke with water leaking through the ceiling. Charles and his team showed up immediately and contained the leak. With access to parts inventory, he fixed the unit in 24hrs. We are so grateful!

    After dealing with other companies, we called Modern Air of Katy as a hail Mary on a Sunday afternoon at 4PM because our AC issues had gotten increasingly worse and it was nearly 90 degrees in our house. My expectations were exceeded. Charles came over within about 1.5 hours to diagnose the problem and quickly set about a plan to rectify and give us a bridge solution until we could make the permanent fix. By Tuesday he and his hardworking team Chris and his wife were able to change out our totally shot evaporator coil in ~ 3 hours. I know it was at least 110 degrees up in the attic but they worked quickly and diligently to make the repair. Our AC is back up and running. Charles was professional, communicative, knowledgeable and fair. He gave us a competitive bid and is a gem after wed gone through 3 other companies quoting us more and providing poor service. We will go back to Charles the moment we need help again! I never leave reviews like this but the reason I called Modern Air of Katy was due to the amazing reviews for Charles, so am hoping to add to that chorus of grateful customers.

    We had a nightmare of a night when our AC stopped working. We woke up in the middle of the night unable to sleep with the house showing a temperature of over 80°. I went and did a Google search and found Modern Air Of Katy and called and spoke to Charles. Charles was very helpful over the phone and made sure that I was a priority and was at my house within 30 minutes of the call. He went into my attic and realized what the issue was went and got the part same day and returned to fix the problem. During His time looking at our AC unit, he even called the product line and realized that the part that was broken which was a motor blower, and was under warranty which even saved us some money. If you ever have any issues with your AC or heating, I highly suggest Charles and those that work for Modern Air Of Katy . Thank you once again for your great work and Customer Service we are very pleased.

I had gone with those “big name” places before and both times they tried to sell me on a completely new unit even though my current one isn’t old. Charles didn’t use any sales tactics instead he was sincere and gave the honest truth. For me, it was just one part that needed to be replaced so I appreciate the fact that he saved me thousands. I have other work I want done in the future and Modern Air has a customer for life.

    I had an HVAC unit stop working, and after some basic troubleshooting, I called Modern Air. Charles came out, and instantly saw what the issue was. He was able to go out and get the needed capacitor, swapped it out in my unit and got me back up and running for a great price.     Where do I begin. Finding a new AC or heater repair company is like finding a new hairdresser or a auto repair company. Its terrifying. Years ago, I took a wild chance on Modern Air. First of all because it was a family-owned business and theres something I liked about that. I remember the first time that Charles from Modern Air came to my home because I had an air conditioning issue with my unit outside. He came over to me showing me a little fuse and said see this little piece right here? Many people that can service your AC will tell you that you need a new unit or something major but this little piece cost $10 to replace. I knew I found my company.I have to call Modern Air at least once a year whether its my old heater unit or my AC unit. They are extremely honest and although I am told ( and know) that my unit is ancient, they managed to keep it ticking for a few more years. .I live in the Westbury area and they will come all the way over to service my home from Katy. They show up on weekends if its an emergency. Honestly Ive never had to wait for days unless it was the part that was needed that out of stock at the moment.The issue is usually is taken care of within 2 days. I will leave you with this last sentence:When you find somebody that you can trust, you stick with them. You can trust Modern Air. 😊

    Mr. Guthrie was attentive to our needs and happy to respond to our questions regarding our A/C unit short cycling and failing. He diagnosed the root issue (burnt out evaporator coil fan motor due to refrigerant leak) and topped of our coolant and applied sealant.He came out on a weekend when we had trouble even having anyone pick up our calls. Were happy he answered and help us out. Good thorough service at a reasonable price. We heartily recommend Modern Air of Katy.

    My contractor recommended Charles and Modern Air of Katy last year and I signed up for their annual maintenance program. Charles was extremely efficient, informative and effective- so when my AC died last month I called Charles immediately. He showed up the next morning, clearly explained my options for replacement and completed the work the next day — which involved working in 100+ degree temps and having to navigate tight /challenging spaces to get the unit in place. Everything was cleaned and returned to perfect condition when they finished. He voluntarily came back the next day to check on things and when the temps weren’t exactly as expected he spent almost the whole next day working to make it perfect. I can’t recommend more highly!

    The team came in within a couple hours of my call and replaced my compressor, which was over 15 years old. During installation, Charles spent some time looking at some other little issues we brought up, such as inconsistent duct work upstairs and a flaky thermostat setting. They worked late and completed the job without issues, even being courteous enough to wear slip on covers to their shoes while going in and out. Ill be using these guys from now on.

    For those of you who need A/C & Heating service stop looking around, Charles is the man! I could not have asked for any better...My story goes: upon annual inspection both a/c & furnace needed replacement. Got few quotes with the usual rip off man.. 15k, 13k, 12k.. I was so frustrated. Ok these units are expensive piece of equipments but cannot be a rip off. In the end found Charles, got a 4k savings for a brand new Rheem a/c & furnace. Charles went above and beyond my very best expectations. Super customer oriented, very clean when accessing my house, leave no mess, very professional in explaining what he was doing and why, always on time, very transparent in explaining the fees and what was labor vs parts. And even after he walked away he was so nice in calling me the day after to check everything was running smooth. Seriously if you need a/c services call Charles, sit down and relax, your are in safe hands..dont expect cheap (my old boss used to say cheap is not the best) but do expect a great service (honestly speaking overall the best experience with someone. servicing my house), value for money and overall such a very good person.
