    Weve been using General AC for a couple years now and Im very pleased with their service. The techs are very polite & knowledgeable. Last year we were facing an expensive repair or replacement of the whole system. The owner met with us at my request to help us decide which road was the best for our situation. I also appreciate they employ several female technicians. Weve always had the same (female) tech service our equipment. I like that she knows the history of our unit. Its like having a regular doctor or hair stylist - you dont want to have to start from scratch with someone new every time. So glad we tried General AC - I sleep better at night knowing they have our backs!Update - this year we did replace the entire heat & AC system. The work was complete in less than 2 days. Looking forward to many years of problem free, stress free operation!

    These guys are the best and totally professional. Kept me informed every step of the way and made sure the clean up was impeccable. This was a big job and I have had friends and family use General Air and they have been extremely happy with the work. Tim is fair and wont replace anything if it does not need it. He tells it like it is. I have been using them for 11 years now and always excellent outcome.

    They seemed to know what they were doing. They were quick, courteous, and cleaned up afterwards. They went to great effort to make sure that the compressor was placed properly. They went to great effort to make sure that the air conditioner unit would drain properly. They removed any garbage created by removal of the old unit.

    Excellent Customer and Repair service. I am working with them for last 25 plus years and helped me whenever I had any issue. That is what I call Gold Star Customer Service.Last month I had problems when inside the house temperature remains between 91 and 93 even though Thermostat is set to 77-78. Tim Bruce came and found a small leak in the Air Handler (Inside unit) coil, which was not fixable so he added more Freon hoping it will last for few more months. Unfortunately, it lasted only for two weeks. At that time, we decided to replace the Inside unit, Air Handler, because the unit was 14 years old and out of Warranty. So we replaced the old unit. During installation, technicians covered carpets all over the walk ways. After installation then even vacuum the area and made sure that everything was clean. During installation then needed to cut the part of the wall, which they fixed it back. Yes, I approved that. Anyhow, I am very happy with them for their courteous service.I would highly recommend them. Thanks

    TRYING to search for the BEST A/C Company? Look no more.Once you go with General Air Conditioner, you will be a forever customer. I just left another company after 15 Years because my A/C went out and they re-scheduled my appointment 3 times. I called General Air conditioning, talked to the front desk, Crystal, very professional, very friendly, knows what CUSTOMER SERVICE is, she answered all my questions and stated they install Trane A/C Units only, that is exactly what I wanted. Experts to replace my current Trane.She contacted the owner, Tim Bruce and he came to my house the same day and did what he needed to do to make sure I had A/C in this Texas Weather. VERY COMPETITIVE PRICING. TRUSTWORTHY, not a sales man, he only cares about what you need, not about the money he wants to make. The very next day, Tim dropped off the A/C and told me his crew were on the way. Josh, Vic, and Nick were her in the next 30 minutes. They installed a new 2-speed Trane. I did not need a furnace, Tim stated I had another 4 or 5 years, it was still in great shape. The last company stated I needed a NEW SYSTEM, they are obviously out for themselves, not a 15 Year Customer. They tried charging me over $24, 000.00 for a new system. Tim just shook his head.When the crew got here, the first thing Vic was concerned about was the HEAT in our house, she offered a FAN to me, to keep me cool, in my home office. The last company apologized to me and stated they had a skeleton crew, General Air Conditioning is a SMALLER BUSINESS and they OPENED a slot for me. They CARE.Josh, Vic, and Nick are very dedicated, as HOT as it was outside, they did what they needed to do, installing my new unit away from a bush where my current Trane was to have enough room to work and they installed a brand new breaker box for my new Trane. Everything was cleaned up, looks neat and now I am breathing CRISP cold air. THANK YOU, General Air Conditioning!     We have been with General for 13 years. They installed two new systemsā€¦A/C and furnace. The system has worked very well. We have only had a few issues and General has been very responsive to correct the issues. We have the MX contract and they verify heat is ready for winter and A/C is ready for the heat. Our capacitor went out this time and they fixed it the same day. While repairing the capacitorā€¦they found our fan seal was defective. They replaced it as well. A/C was back up on line in two hours.Great service and quality work.

    Wouldnā€™t have anyone else service our unit. Makayla was great today (8/25/23) and my summer check up was done in a timely manner. I have also had Clara and Tim come on different occasions. They are even available around the holidays, last year our heater went out the day before Christmas. General come out and had our home ready for Christmas morning. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!

    Based on previous experiences with General Air Conditioning, I signed up for a maintenance plan with them when I moved into my new house recently. As always, it was easy to schedule an appointment and they were very transparent about their pricing. The technician arrived on time and was professional and pleasant. He did a great job inspecting both of my HVAC units and explaining what he did during the visit and what work should be considered in the future. General AC has maintained, installed, and repaired systems at three different homes for me over the past few years and Ive never had a negative experience. Highly recommended.

    Iā€™m quite impressed by the two technicians (Carla last year and Mikayla today) who were sent to service my HVAC unit for regular maintenance. They were both very courteous, knowledgeable, and thorough. Mikayla discovered the outdoor compressor for AC was not working, which could have caused an emergency situation when itā€™s 105Ā°. Not only did she see a problem just waiting to occur at an in opportune time, but she showed me, and it was obvious. I have peace of mind knowing the faulty capacitor has been replaced. Kudos to GAC owner for hiring young women. Like my daddy always told me growing up, thereā€™s nothing a guy can do that a girl canā€™t do, but even better!

    This was my first time using General. I had them complete a winter service for a property I had just bought. Unfortunately, a scheduling glitch occurred that day, but Crystal quickly took care of it and got a technician right over. The technician was Christopher, who was professional and knowledgeable about his trade. He took time to explain the services completed and showed me features of the system. Look forward to keeping it cool with General A/C in the future.

    During the recent summer months my house was not cooling enough and it was still kinda warm inside. So I called one of the big companies you hear on the tv/radio and they gave me a very large estimate. The next day I was referred to and called General Air for a second estimate. They came out very quickly and inspected the house and gave me an estimate for the exact same things the other guys were going to do, but the total cost would about 30% less than the big guys on tv!! I ended up paying them for the maintenance to be performed and they rapidly fixed the problem. They were so awesome, showed me the problem and explained everything in great detail. They went above and beyond and even fixed things that were not part of the regular maintenance for free and got things back to normal. Fast forward to February 2023, I get a call from Crystal with General Air Conditioning and she informs me that with the service I purchased in the summer, I also received a free future maintenance of my AC system and it was going to expire if not used/performed by the end of February 2023. I thanked her for the courtesy call and explained that I had I had no idea about that so I was glad she took the time to call me and let me know! She pretty much did not have to bother to call me at all and could just let the offer go to waste and saved their company time and money. So for that I am very thankful and it just goes to show how much of an honest and great company they are!! Their technician Chris came out and he was anything short than amazing! After the maintenance was performed he showed me and thoroughly explained everything that was performed on the maintenance. He also helped repair/prevent what could have been costly repairs that could have occurred in the future. Overall I am so glad that I called General Air Conditioning as they have definitely gained my trust and future business!! Definitely 10 out of 10 and I would not go with any other company.

    Victoria and Josh were great. The temperatures were in the high 90s to low 100s all week and they pushed everyday to get our new ac up and running as quickly as possible.     Michaela did an excellent job servicing my AC unit. She conducts herself very professionally and possesses a great deal of knowledge about ACs. She explained everything she was doing. She asked all the right questions to figure out the problem. She noticed things like my lights flickering when the AC turns on ā€” which indicates a problem. She was able to provide estimates on the work that needed to get done. (Other repair places make you talk to the manager about costs.)

The technician that we deal with most often is Clara who is a great professional and a joy to deal with. Just prior to the 10-year warranty expiration our compressor went out.     Eleven years ago, I took pot luck on finding an A/C contractor who could fix my 42 year old central A/C unit. The contractor said he could not fix the problem, and I had to purchase and install a new system.I kept looking and found General Air Conditioning. Their skilled craftsmen came to the house and fixed the problem (and several others after that).Eleven years later, my A/C quit working, and General Air Conditioning could not fix the problem because the 53 year old system needed replacement.     General Air Conditioning HVAC company is owned and operated by Tim Bruce; who leads a team of experienced and professional male and female service technicians. I have always been pleased with their excellent service which is why I have shared his business information on the Facebook group page for my HOA and via the NextDoor app.We first met Tim Bruce in 2015, when we interviewed him and several other TRANE Certified HVAC companies to upgrade our builder installed Carrier HVAC system; which never evenly heated or cooled our home, during the almost 10 years that we had it. Throughout the past 8 years, we have always renewed our annual maintenance plan with Gen Air; which has saved us a lot money because: It includes our Spring & Autumn seasonal maintenance checkups; which helps to keep our TRANE HVAC System working at its best.

    Maintenance was performed on a Trane system by General AC, Inc. Clara and her associate did an excellent job on the system. The gas pressure was a little high and was adjusted. The filter was changed and the primary drain line was flushed out among other routine services. Clara was very knowledgeable about the unit and answered in detail the many questions posed by my wife and I. It was well worth the annual charge for the two visits to keep the variable speed unit operating at peak efficiency.

    Excellent service. The owner provided me with the specifications for different options for a new HVAC. The pricing structure was flexible; I did not have to buy a bundled product. As I already had a wireless thermometer, a whole house and HVAC surge protectors I was saved the cost of buying these items. The company pulled the required permit, and the employees were a pleasure to work with. I appreciate their attention to detail. I look forward to doing business with them again.

    We have had our new unit just over a year. Our electricity bill has decreased and we are setting our unit temperature cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter compared to our old unit.     On July 5th I called at 7am because my a/c had gone out overnight and the other guys (friends of Bugs and Daffy One hour AC) could not get to me. Tim answered the phone and scheduled me for 3pm. At 12:30 he calls back and says his tech got done early at another job and could come now, points for early arrival. The tech that showed up at 1pm worked and worked to discover the problem to no avail, by 7pm it was obvious he was in way over his head, in comes the owner Tim, both stay at my home until 10pm to make sure my ac is operational for the night. They could not solve the multiple problems so created bypasses and said they would be back tomorrow. I advised I could not be there before 5, no problems for them...bonus points. They were there promptly, worked until 8pm to get it all done and repaired correctly. They were courteous and it was interesting to watch as Tim taught his tech as he went on. This is a professional and courteous outfit, and they also care about the customer experience and will sacrifice for the customer and you rarely see that anymore. I would give more stars if I could. Thanks Tim and Nathan for a job well done and all the effort you put forth to make sure I was happy.

    Tech Christopher showed up on time and proceeded to inspect the heating unit. Once he was done he took the time to explain everything he had done and offered a few suggestions. I truly appreciate General Air techs respect for my house/property. Booties are worn when they enter the house and clean up before leaving. I was extremely impressed with their attention to detail with their work and resourcefulness.The home builder had made only one drain for 2 units. While not the fault of General Air Conditioning, this would make future servicing difficult. Victoria created a valve system which would allow easier service for both units.The new Trane units are phenomenal! So quiet both inside and outside. CPS Energy has an available credit, all the paperwork was filled out and taken care of by Sara. There are available Federal Credits, those you have your accountant file.The entire staff was very knowledgeable, hard working, and extremely courteous. I appreciate all their efforts at making everything just right, the replacement of both my units was a pleasant experience.The staff was punctual, keep the work area clean, no damage to our property, and they finished on time. I would definitely have them do maintenance, repair, or another installation.Update: After trying another provider for my ac maintenance and not too impressed with their level of service.I signed back with General Air Conditioning. They were able to see me bright and early the next day. On time, Christopher serviced my two units.Checked the indoor air handlers and outdoor condensers. Gave the condenser coils a wash, with a cleaner and water from the hose.Took it a step further and cleaned the organic materials that accumulated at the bottom.He asked if the house was harder to cool. With the extreme summer we had, Id assume it was par for the course.However, due to his readings of my units. While I was within range of refrigerant 9 lbs +/- 3 lbs, they were on the low side at 6ish lbs.He recommended options, wait until next winter check or fill the freon. He also mentioned the potential of saving money.If the unit is at optimal level of freon, it works at its best. That coupled with the fact we live in Texas. Where it is boiling 13 months out of the year. We.want.optimal!Sure glad he presented me with the actual numbers. Told Christopher to fillem up!He presented the after figures and it was great. The house felt so, so much cooler and back to normal.Im so glad I came back and had my units serviced by Christopher.

    Clara and Vic did a great job. A brace had to be moved to get to the blower. It was installed in a position that will make cleaning the blower next time easier. Seeing the before and after pictures shows how good a job was done. While there, Clara noticed the base for the filters was not working and ordered it on the spot. Within 2 or 3 hours she returned with the part and made sure everything was working. I would not use anyone else for my AC.

I was in the market for a new HVAC and read the reviews about General Air Conditioning in the Trane website and decided to give them a call. I was expecting a high pressure commission salesman to call on me but I was visited by the owner, Tim Bruce, instead. He was very professional and took the time to measure the house and determine our AC needs. He then went over his recommendations and various HVAC system options including financing. He did not pressure us on anything and left the proposals for us to decide.After some research we decided to go with General Air Conditioning. Tim came back out and together we decided on the system and options to go with it and set up an installation date. Tim and his crew arrived on the date we agreed on and he went to work.     We wanted to replace our 14 year old AC, Heating system, Thermostat, and Duct Work, while they were running well. We are the original owners and have always had lots of dust even though we would vacuum once to twice per week and use three air purifiers. I suspected the excessive amount of dust was coming through the vents/ducts. The old ducts layed on top for the insulation and had lots bends where the air was restricted. There were also openings in the duct, which allowed for dust and less efficiency.I began studying everything I could get my hands on from you tube to product web sites, off and on for the past two years. There was only two products that I wanted to consider and one was Trane.Since my units were running, I had the luxury of getting many bids over a three week period. If my units had to be replaced, I might have to settle quickly on a product, company, and price I would regret. I understand that Trane units are becoming difficult to come by.Tim Bruce, the owner of General Air Conditioning, came to our home to assess the project. He wasnt going to cut any corners or try to get me to settle for shortcuts. I believe that you will hire General Air Conditioning, if you compare them with other companies.A three person team came to our home to perform the work. They were Vic (the team leader), Chris, and Jacob. I could not have asked for a better hard working crew. Let me also mention Lillian, she works in the office. She is most professional. I actually cancelled a company that I had scheduled to get a quote from, because of the office person. They are an overall reflection of the company. During the process Tim came by to check on things and at completion to do a quality assessment. I dont know of many owners that are so involved and readily available.All of my duct work is now hanging beautifully without large bends. I have all now boxes and grills that are properly sealed.     We were blessed with our AC breaking down in late February, so we had the time to do some serious comparison shopping. Even better, the Home and Garden show was scheduled in town soon after it broke!! Thatā€™s where we met Tim, General Air Conditioningā€™s president, and scheduled them (and others) for a visit. We were called and they scheduled Todd to come and see us. When we first started getting quotes, we were planning to just replace our 14 year-old 3-ton (12 SEER) that came with the house when it was built. Although we had already talked with several other companies, Todd took the time and walked us through all our options. His initial inspection found some shortcomings in our existing HVAC that others did not. He identified that we had a large duct too close to the end of our plenum, which he explained is not optimal. Being a wary consumer, a quick hunt on the internet confirmed his claim. Already leaning towards a better unit, Toddā€™s no-pressure presentation helped us make a decision we are happy about for our forever home. After extensive digging into the internet and comparing notes, the variable-speed XV20i (21 SEER) and TAM9 air handler were relatively easy choices. Sure, weā€™re paying more than we originally planned, but for a much better system. The quiet comfort and lower utility bills during retirement will be much appreciated, as will the lengthy warranty of the parts for our new Trane system. General Air Conditionings quotes were printed (individually) on the spot and provided every bit of information needed to make an informed decision. The work crew were awesome! ā€œVā€ (Victoria), David and Danny were always on the move. They were very friendly, gracious and careful in our home, then cleaned up afterwards. They took the time to explain our new unit, how to use and program the thermostat, and what to expect during the next yearā€™s included maintenance.     The A/C unit i had put in 2 years ago all has been a fantastic investment! The Return on Investment: I used to have to buy 200 gallons of propane 3 to 4 times a winter. Last year I filled it only once in March. Iā€™m still heating on the same tank and have plenty left for this winter. Each tank cost around $500. Thatā€™s about $1500 - $2000 savings per year.     I have used this company twice since originally contacting them in 2016 to get an estimate for a new HVAC system for a home I had just moved into. My AC was not functioning well and two other companies had recommended replacing the entire system. Instead of trying to sell me a new system, the owner pointed put that my AC unit had been replaced recently. He then, at no charge, performed extensive trouble shooting to identify an intermittent problem, involving the expansion valve. He then was able to get the OEM to pay for the part and I only paid for the labor. The techs are proficient and courteous. I will continue to use this company in the future and would recommend them to anyone.

    I recently had a top of the line Trane heat pump, air handler, and complete duct system installed by General Air Conditioning. My due diligence included 4 vendor proposals, social media reviews, and BBB reviews. Todd, the comfort specialist from General Air Conditioning, was the only salesperson out of the 4 vendors that actively listen to what concerns I had with my current system and than proceeded to craft a solution to address my needs. Todd calculated a manual j load test to support and justify the HVAC system required and necessary duct work. The other vendors merely looked at the old system and then proposed a like replacement (no justification for the system proposed). The installation team, Victoria, Jacob, and Gilbert are all knowledgeable, courteous, and professional in demeanor. The lead technician, Victoria, was excellent in her work and in managing all aspects of the HVAC and duct installation. I highly recommend General Air Conditioning to anyone considering HVAC repairs or installation. Finally, if my service experience will be as good as my installation experience, my substantial investment in the complete system will have more than paid off.

This system reduces bacteria, viruses, mold, etc.The crew left and I was so excited, I went back up into the attic to look at the unit again. Itā€™s like Christmas! They ran new ducts which is not easy this time of year, didnā€™t cut any corners to finish fast. They took their time to do it right. My attic looks totally different, I should have taken before photos.There is no better feeling than having something done right.
