    Darryl Penn from Burnside A/C & Heating was hard-working, so friendly, and very professional. He worked incredibly hard for us, spending hours in the attic inspecting our system when it was 100 degrees outside, all the while making sure everything was fixed in a timely manner. He has made me and my family customers for life. Because of my experience with Darryl, I know that Burnside is a company I can trust.     I had Burnside Air Conditioning and Heating out today to install a mini-split AC system in my new office shed. Ronnie and his crew were right on time and knew exactly what to do. They ran into a problem while installing a condensation French drain in the yard but never gave up despite the heat and humidity outside. The system works great and Ronnie and the crew were first class.

    UPDATE:Still 5 stars! Had a furnace board failure in our older downstairs unit. Eric came out and diagnosed the issue within 2 hours of our call. Parts came in promptly and Eric came back to install. He was polite and very personable. Made sure he tested everything and he debriefed us and answered all our questions. A+___________ORIGINAL:Ronnie and Robert did a fantastic job on our recent A/C and Furnace installation. Showed up as scheduled and completed the job in estimated time, despite being a brutally hot day. They were extremely knowledgeable, answered our questions, and conducted themselves very professionally. Clean install. It looks great! Even our dog loved these guys! Highly recommend.

    Twas the night before Thanksgiving and the blower motor died and the furnace for the main area of the home was no more. I called another company and then burnside, and Quay the dispatcher was super helpful. Her phoneside manner was great. She was able to get a tech out to help me even though it was getting late in the afternoon and most people were already in vacation mode. Jason came out and did a thorough diagnosis of the furnace confirming the blower motor was dead, but caught something the warranty companys tech who initially came out missed. That miss could have harmed our family - a cracked heat exchanger that could leak carbon monoxide into the air. Jason immediately hopped on the phone and called back to HQ to see if there was a comfort consultant available to talk replacement options. Within an hour Trevor was at my door. Everyone was great, and Trevor came in and sized up exactly what I needed - no more no less. Within 4 days, the crew came out and installed two new ACs and two new furnaces. The crew was quick, efficient, and clean. They finished the job in about 6 hours. From beginning to end, I was impressed by the customer service, their attentiveness, and down to earth friendliness. Id highly recommend this local family owned business.

    This company is hands down the best HVAC company I have ever had the pleasure of using. They not only were able to fix my system but they did so after exploring the whole system, exposing all the issues and laying out exactly what I would need. Not only that they have amazing prices, and a membership that is super affordable to help maintain the systems for twice a year. My techs not only took their time to help me, but explain the issues to me in a way I could understand.My techs were Darrly, Kade and Dean. I just am floored at how they helped me after all the other places were trying to take me for a ride; I cant say it enough. They are the BEST!

    We returned to Burnside heating and air conditioning after several years of using another business due to having built a house and going with the company the builder used. We started to become dissatisfied with that company and returned to Burnside. The technician, HB, was wonderful— very knowledgeable and personable. He was very careful to put shoe coverings on to come in the house. We are glad to be back with Burnside and will be using them for our every six month maintenance visits from now on! They have always been an honest company and conscientious.

    Brad came to my home today to do my semiannual air conditioning service. I am an old guy and have had hundreds of service people in my home but never one like Brad.He began by asking what concerns I had and answered all of them one at a time. He did not rush make me feel like I was taking too much of his time or was in a hurry. WOW.After he was finished he came and explained to me what he had done to address everyone of my concerns.Brad is credit to Burnside A/C. He was very personable and really cares about the customer.     Our 15 year old AC system broke during the 105 degree heat that has persisted in August 2023. Due to EPA regulations the old refrigerant is being phased out and will become unavailable in a few years making servicing such an old AC super expensive... So we decided to have Burnside install the new Central Air and Heat Pump. The Burnside crew did a fantastic job performing the installation in a day. The new AC system is running great and keeping temps in the house a steady 72 degrees in the blistering heat during the day. I would highly recommend Burnside for any new AC system install. Thanks!

    Wow! From the dispatch to our technician coming out, our experience with Burnside AC & Heating was nothing short of spectacular.My wife and I experienced our AC go out late in the evening. After calling at 9pm, the overnight team notified me that they’d reach back out in the morning with a schedule at 8am.. Sure enough at 8a they called and got us in for the same day. Granted this was initiated late Saturday night and tech came out Sunday late morning!Our technician Cody was very thorough & honest in his assessment without any attempt at upselling or fluff.     Our 21 year old air-conditioner/heating system had exceeded its usefulness and had undergone extensive repair every year through a Reliant Energy insurance plan which allowed us to delay the seemingly unaffordable these days: purchasing a new Central HVAC system.But with the last episode of our A/C breaking down Fri June 23, 2023 and my wife in the hospital for a medical emergency just three days later (Mon, June 26), I called Dean the day she would be discharged (Tue) and asked him what options we had to save some money on a new unit and he discussed the pros of saving money with a new Rheem that was actually last year’s model but was new and excellent in every other way and he asked me if I would be interested in saving a bit of money? Of course I said yes. He assured me I was getting one of the industry’s best units. He was right.On Tuesday my wife was discharged and Dean sent us a quote – VERY AFFORDABLE – thank you angels looking over us again -- we were in a motel that night and I accepted his offer on Wed. I asked if he could come sooner than later and at first I thought it would be five days out (Mon) or seven days out (Wed the following week) -- instead, he had a cancellation the next day (Thu) and asked if I would I be interested. YES I said! Thank you Jesus and angels for again looking over our family.It gets better. His crew came over Thu and were absolutely amazing – their names are Jeremy and Kyle – and they have worked together for 10 years so that tells you something right there. My wife and I tried to make them feel welcome and hydrated in the miserable heat outside and inside – the attic might have been 160 degrees with very little wind to move the roof turbines. It had to be exhausting and we prayed over them. Jeremy and Kyle: I we can’t thank you enough. Thank you so, so much! We were in awe of your sacrifice to our situation.The units components were brand spanking new and quite impressive -- the compressor was almost as tall as I am -- and neighbors would not be used to seeing such a large unit beside their yard so I kiddingly said “the neighbors are going to be jealous and Jeremy replied, not for long because this things is so quiet they won’t even know you have it!”. I chuckled. He wasn’t kidding. If you walk by our house you will never hear it. Throughout the day of installation we prayed for the well-being of the entire crew including a third young man there to help them. I felt all along they were sacrificial. Dominic, the manager and Dean himself showed up later. Dean is such a site for sore eyes.They completed the job perfectly that day (Thu) and were very careful every step of the way and I can’t express my gratitude enough for their professionalism, service, kindness and excellence. The handoff, package of materials, registration and training were all taken care of beautifully. We got more than we paid for in my opinion but shhhh please don’t tell Dean I said that. :- ). I think his company’s mission in McKinney is to bless his employees and his customers – I don’t think this would happen with any other company. I hug him and the crew endlessly in my mind because they deserve every bit of my gratitude and that of my wife.Oh, did I tell you 5 wks after installation the air conditioning has been working great, perfectly and is delicious? It is! We haven’t enjoyed A/C like this in years! And our first bill for the entire month of July was half what it has been every year with that old A/C. So Dean got me out of my penny-wise pound-foolish mode! Thank you Dean! Thank You Jeremy, Kyle, Dominic, and the helper. Addendum: I wrote this a few weeks ago and only now am submitting it. Dean also sent me a hand-written personal thank you card in the U.S. mail hoping my wife would feel better and that we would get many years of enjoyment from our new A/C. I don’t know if he does this for everyone but it surely made me feel special and well up with tears and I was grateful for that as well. Praise The Lord! I SUPER HIGHLY RECOMMEND BURNSIDE FOR YOUR NEXT CENTRAL HVAC.

    Bradly Burnside was our service technician. He was excellent. He provided our regular gold star service. He way a joy to work with and talk with. I watched him thoroughly clean our outside unit and he explained why and how to do it. While checking the inside unit, he identified an issue with the drainage, fixed the problem, and proposed a preventative solution that we asked him to install so that we wouldnt have this problem in the future. Also, I mentioned that my wife suffers from allergies and asthma and asked if anything additional could be done to help her. He proposed adding an air purifier to our HVAC system. We asked him to install this as well. His explanations were thorough. This was a fantastic experience!

    Darryl Penn the A/C Tech with Burnside was very polite and was all about customer service . The first he asked was what problems I was having with the system . I told him the problems I knew about and he went back got his tools and started to work on the system. After about 1 and 1/2 hours he completed his cleaning and inspection of the whole system went over what needed to be done to the system now and his recommendation s on what I could do to make the system better and have better indoor air quality. Darryl did not push any repairs on me and explained everything fully so I understood why they would benefit my family and the HVAC system. I felt so good about the service and didn’t feel like I was being taken advantage of. Darryl is a direct reflection of what Burnside A/C and Heating stand for customer service and satisfaction along with doing a great job at a reasonable price! I decided to replace the unit this summer, Burnside came out and gave me a NO pressure presentation offering me 3 options to replace my unit.     Within an hour of my phone call to Burnside, technician Jason Sherrod was dispatched to my home and he promptly began working on a plugged air conditioning condensate line that was dripping water into our foyer. He cleared the line and made changes to the system to help prevent a recurrence including installation of an inline condensate cleaning system and installation of vent stacks on the condensate p trap. He also verified that the condensate drain for my second A/C system was clear and installed an inline cleaning system on this system as well. When all work was completed, Jason gave me a detailed summary of the repairs.I am a member of the Burnside Gold Star program which resulted in a quick response of my request for assistance plus a 50% discount on the drain unplugging charge. My experiences with Burnside have all been positive since I began using them two years ago.

    Hamza, a Burnside Service-tech, performed maintenance on our A/C system this morning. He knew what he was doing and was efficient with time spent, not neglecting thorough system review and tests. He found a component that was below spec and I had him replace it, preventing a potential system failure in the future. I have had the same top notch service from other Burnside Service-techs previously, they have good knowledgeable people working for them.Update: August 2024Our a/c started operating poorly, so I called Burnside and they sent a technician (Coleman) out on a Sunday who identified the reason for the problem we were experiencing. The following day, a knowledgeable sales associate (Abe) reviewed options with us to solve the problem. Within a few days, we selected a new high efficiency furnace/blower to be installed to stop the coil from freezing up. Technicians Bryce and Hector came out and installed the new air handler in our attic. It was over 100º on the day they changed out our old unit. In spite of the heat, they went right to work. Bryce and Hector completed the job professionally. Our experience underscores how Burnside a/c has caring, knowledgeable, and hard-working staff. I’m in their Gold Star program which I find convenient and worthwhile for preventive maintenance.Four years ago: Came home from vacation late at night and air conditioning wasnt working. My home is only three years old an I hadnt had a need to contact a service company so I was starting from scratch. Found Burnside online and decided to see if they could get someone out ASAP since it had been 84 degrees in the house all night long. They scheduled me for 12 to 3 the same day but Arturo arrived a blessed hour early when the temperature was approaching 90. He had my unit running again in another hour and a half. I wish I hadnt gotten hit with the expense, but air conditioners need maintenance occasionally and getting them fixed fast is critical. I give Arturo and Burnside my highest recommendation.4/30/24 Same day service got my air conditioning back on. Nick was great with an explanation and courteous service!

    Unfortunately, last week our Air Conditioning went out. We have a home warranty that referred us to another company that did a very poor job explaining the situation and basically only told us that our issue was not covered under warranty before leaving us with a very expensive quote. Needing AC, we asked the that company if they would at least be able to fix the job that day, and he said that the earliest they could squeeze us in would be later in the following week, leaving us without AC for over a week...I then decided to call Burnside (late on a Friday afternoon) and explained the situation to them. Debbie, the lady who took my call was extremely kind and understanding and managed to get a technician, Dominick out to our property about 2 hours later. Because we had already burned a $75 diagnostic service call fee on the previous company, they even agreed to waive their own service fee, which they didnt need to do, but went a long way in our eyes. When Dominick inspected our unit, unfortunately, he did not have great news for us and it was still a costly repair that would take at least 2 hours to complete. We asked him if he would be able to complete the service that day, somewhat expecting him not to be able to since it was now about 6PM on Friday. Without a second thought, Dominick happily stayed at our property and fixed the unit that very evening. Plus, he managed to get us a healthy discount by recommending their Gold level service plan, which also includes inspections on the unit twice a year. At about 8PM, he completed the job and we had A/C that night!Thank you Burnside, for your extremely prompt, friendly, and professional service. You went above and beyond to service our needs and while we hope not to need another repair anytime soon, we will happily use your services should a problem arise in the future.

    My McKinney house in the “Historic District” that we purchased in 2018, is a beautifully built 1914 pier and beam home with clapboard siding and original hardwood floors. The interior walls, ceiling, and the roof decking are all 3/4” solid wood half-lap. I finally found the right company that was able to get my 5 ton Lennox condenser and Lennox furnace (both new 2017) functioning like they should be! Burnside A/C first sent Jason to evaluate my entire hvac system because I have repeatedly had trouble with it since I’ve owned the house. He explained exactly what I needed to alter in my return ductwork to be able to fully utilize my existing system. Burnside A/C then sent out Bryce Turgasen and his crew Hector and Sean, who installed a new plenum box, added more return air that more than doubled its capacity. They definitely knew what they were doing, they discussed with me every option about where they could place the new R/A grill. They listened to me and let me show them exactly where I would like it to be, BEFORE they cut a new 16”x16” hole in my ceiling. On top of that; Bryce saw that I was putting a new smart thermostat on the wall and fortunately, he stopped me from wiring it incorrectly! My system is now using 2 stage cooling and 2 stage heating, neither of which it was doing before they came.Thank you, thank you, thank you,Jeff Dryer.

    Each and every experience I have had with Burnside has been tops in my book. After my AC went out, I quickly called and was offered an appointment within twenty-four hours. My technician, Colemon Lynch, arrived on time and quickly analyzed the issue and explained in simple terms what needed to occur. He stayed until after dark to make sure I had a cool house. He also explained the reason (room farthest from unit and air flow duct 2 inches more narrow than the others. Told me how to register the air filtration system and surge protectors that he installed.Exceptional experience, plus he wore his mask the entire time and wore foot coverings. I see why the company ratings are near a 5. They’ve earned it and so did Benny.

    I recently had my HVAC unit breakdown and due to it using the older R-22 refrigerant I needed to replace my entire unit. I called around to a couple of places but most companies wanted to charge me to send someone out for an estimate. Dave at Burnside explained what my options were after I told him what was wrong with my unit and offered to send someone out that day for a free estimate. Their technician, Abe, showed up on time and was very professional. He gave me four different quotes on the spot, explained their differences and let me review them to make my decision. I decided to go with Burnside based on their professionalism and price. When they came to do the install they were prompt and clean and got the work done well. Everything was explained about how my new system worked, plus how to get the rebates that I was entitled. After the work was done I received a follow up call to make sure things were done right and that I had no issues. I had to email in to get some paperwork for one of my rebates and that was responded to promptly as well. I couldnt be happier with the service, price and performance of my unit.

    Sep 2020 review - the gold star review crew came out again and did a very good job as far as I could tell with cleaning the outside unit and the other maintenance. I knew beforehand something was wrong as the system wasn’t cooling as quickly as usual and the technician found a leak in the evaporator coil. We scheduled the repair and the new crew came out to do the replacement. I have no doubt in the end the repair was done well but I’m only giving four stars because the cleanup at the end was subpar. We had a lot of insulation blow out into the inside of the house over the next day or so. And there was a lot of debris left in the garage with sharp metal filaments that I had to sweep up. To Burnside’s credit when I expressed my concerns they sent out a quality team to check everything. However, my wife and I spent at least three hours total cleaning up after the repair. I’d use them again for maintenance and repair for the honesty and reputation but there’s clear room to improve on their cleanup procedures.2019 review - Casey was very professional and friendly. He performed the winter review of our system as part of the Gold Star program, checked some areas I had questions about and made some recommendations.
