The Altruistic team completed a through review of our homes outdated HVAC system, and gave us recommendations but also presented options that could be tailored to our current budget. On installation day of our new furnace and air handler, I received a text message with the names and photos of our install team so I knew who to expect at the door. Bryan and Alberto were friendly, courteous, and efficient--and answered all of my questions with care. I was very pleased with the quality of their work and would definitely work with them again. We look forward to a continuing maintenance service with Altruistic AC.

We’ve had an Altruistic membership for a couple years with regular check ups and some minor fixes to our HVAC. But wow did they come in clutch this week when our AC gave out. Overnight on Sunday our AC stopped cooling; by Monday at 8:30am they had come to the house and diagnosed the problem; by 10am on Tuesday we had a quote and selected our new system. Everyone who came out was kind and courteous and we never felt pressured to spend money we didn’t need to. Daniel and the whole team went above and beyond to make this process and painless as possible. Oh, and our dog loves Altruistic too!

Im very happy with the work that theyve done and with their clear and careful explanations. On the plumbing side, Cade also came out and handled a job involving a gas line. He was similarly helpful. Altruistic seems to have a knack for finding good people to work for them!

This was the most thorough tune-up Ive had from an HVAC company. Usually they just come out and tell me they cleaned the drain lines and that my refrigerant is lower than it should be, etc... Jorge came out and opened up all the panels off of the units and took pictures and cleaned the outside units with a hose and found things that werent up to code and found mold in the plenum and corrosion where the refrigerant was leaking inside the unit. He basically solved problems that weve had at least 4-5 other companies overlook. He showed us all the pictures of all the issues and explained them very in depth. Highly appreciated and recommended.

His company Altruistic AC checked everything, and noticed a gas line connection that was subpar.He checked everything detail, and answered my many questions. He found what needed replacing and what was just fine.So Kelvin explained other things like where carbon monoxide alarms should be placed. Kudos to Kelvin C. for completing our second scheduled HVAC maintenance on 12/19/2024 and the preparations for the next day visit for some of the recommended replacements. Alberto and Bryan arrived the following morning (12/20/2024) to replace the old ductwork in the attic with new flexible ducts for both units along with a new blower capacitor for the oldest unit. They were able to complete that work in about two hours.

The best part is he does not try to over sell me on support services or products that I do not need. This is the second time we have used this company, and this time we signed up for an annual contract. They checked the capacitor in the outside unit and found it was at half its capacity. With summer coming in, we decided to replace the part now rather than risk issues on really hot days.

We have a maintenance plan with Altruistic for our HVAC condo unit. The technician, Jorge, was on time and very professional, knowledgeable and responsive. He performed the required PM for the heating system, both in the apartment and on the roof. He took photos of all the critical parts and explained all of his observations. He didn’t find any problems, but he pointed out two things to keep an eye on for next year. Glad to have Altruistic on board if any problems come up during the year.

This is a top-notch business! I called Altruistic because my thermostat was giving me an error message and the A/C wasn’t working. The level of service was fantastic from start to finish. I got a text message with a photo and bio of the service technician shortly before arrival. The problem turned to be a minor one, a clogged drain pipe. Rondel and Michael took care of it quickly and they were so courteous and respectful of our home and family. They even cleaned our condenser unit without charging for it, which was something we knew was overdue but hadn’t gotten around to doing. Pricing was very reasonable, which was a huge relief. I’ve found my A/C people!

We moved into a new home over the summer, and were told by the seller we had a brand new heat pump installed. When we got our first cold snap of the year, however, the heater did not work at all. I called Altruistic to come take a look, and they let me know that not only was it not a heat pump, but the heating element wasnt even installed!Within a week, they had managed to find the heating element, come back to my house, and get everything up and running. The technician, Rondel, was really awesome, fast, and very friendly!! The repairs and the parts were also very reasonably priced. I cant recommend them enough!

Great company to work with. Very responsive, came for emergencies and very detailed in repairs. Great experience all around.Update: 1 day after I posted this, I saw a bunch of cracks in the ceiling in our main room and the hallway leading up to the furnace. When your technician walked across our attic to inspect, I heard a cracking noise and didnt think much of it. Then this crack in our ceiling appeared. This roof was just painted 3 months ago. he did not walk on the support beams and our support is too old (house built 1969) to support his weight.

On a recommendation, we called Altruistic for specs on a new HVAC system and ended up using them for the new product, the install, including vent installation and repairs, and blowing additional insulation into our attic. From start to finish everyone was friendly, knowledgeable, professional, and efficient, and the work was excellent.We called them yesterday afternoon about a drip coming from a ceiling vent and they fit us in this morning. Two of the guys from the original install came today. They quickly found and fixed the problem (nothing to do with the install; pre-dates our time in the house) and conducted the 6-month system maintenance while they were here. They were in and out in about 90 minutes and showed us pictures and discussed the details of everything they did along the way. We would highly recommend Altruistic and will continue using them ourselves!

Weve used Altruistic a few times, the first time when our AC went out in the middle of summer. Because of the unit, it required the part to be special ordered. The Altruistic team found a part quickly and first said it would be a few days before the part arrived. They later found out that they could get it delivered to San Antonio within the day and they would drive down to pick it up. Within 24 hours they were able to resolve my issue. The last visit we had was a similar issue except and this time I called very early in the morning and left a voicemail, within 2 hours they called me back and despite having no availability for the day they offered to come out later in the evening. This time they had the part available and were able to fix my AC within 12 hours of me calling. A fantastic group of people and very dedicated.

We just bought a house built in 1996 with the original HVAC. Altruistic serviced it, and then a couple days later, it stopped working. They came back out and fixed it, taking care of the charges for the second call for us. We know we’ll need to replace the unit within a few years, and we’ll be using Altruistic when we do. We’ve used them since Les was out on his own, before hiring other people and building his own company. He’s wonderful and honest.

I couldn’t recommend them enough. I signed up for the membership which includes 2 maintenance visits a year and 10% off any other repairs or services needed. Within 10 minutes they had called me to set up an appointment which they had availability for that same morning! In less than an hour they were here and evaluating the assessment - Luis was great, very professional and quick!

Our A/C went out on Saturday night while I was 38 weeks pregnant- Altruistic squeezed us into their Sunday schedule and had it running by lunch time. They gave us maintenance tips to elongate the live of our system instead of trying to sell us a new unit like other companies can do. These guys are the best service company I have dealt with...called them at 10:30p on a Saturday night for a water leak in the pan of the handler, they called back within 5 minutes and came the next day at exactly the time they gave me (9a on Sunday morning). They not only fixed the problem and taught me what to look out for in the future, they changed a light bulb in the attic (they found it on their own and suggested it) and even broomed and cleaned the floor where I had previously covered with towels, trash bags and plastic containers (to prevent damage to the floor in the event that the ceiling gave in). They FOLDED the towels! This was the best service experience I have ever had with anyone...I will be giving them all of my AC business going forward

Crew was good and punctual and spent a real long time to tell me that everything was okay. I pointed out some leakage from one of my AC units but I was told that he could not figure out what the problem is. My take is he did not take enough time to look into the problem or was not qualified to do it. I had hoped theyd do more to find/fix the problem.UPDATE - 7/8/2019Right after my earlier feedback, Ben from Altruistic called and offered to immediately send a team to further look into the issue. Les from Altruistic came diagnosed the issue, applied the fix which he thought should fix the leak but since a lot of the drain line is covered, if the issue persists, itll need further action. I am revising my original review to 5 stars because they came out and fixed this promptly and without any other charges. I will happily recommend Altruistic to anyone in future. Thanks.
