After interviewing several contractors we hired MIF for our 1972 houses bed-bath renovation. Very impressed! The entire crew was easy to communicate with, willing to listen and happy to work out creative solutions to renovation surprises that crop up when working on an older house. The custom built elements are done to a high standard. Also very timely and professional. Most importantly my wife and I both felt safe with everyone that came to our house including the sub-trades, especially since rebuilding one whole half of our house while we are living in it is such an invasive process. Israel is accommodating to our needs and wishes and full of good ideas. We are having him and the crew back to do the kitchen-living room half of the house next! A special thanks to his lovely wife Martha for her commitment to the business as well!

After getting quotes for maintenance , repair, painting work for our home from several local contractors, I contacted MIF Contractors and could not be more pleased with Israel, Giovani and the crews and the work they did for us. We asked MIF to repaint the exterior of our 8 yr. old home, do some major patio repairs, wood fence replacement, interior painting and rough and finish carpentry and they were terrific! Easy to communicate with, on time, on budget, clean, responsive, and they did fantastic work for us with great finished results. Israel and his team did a complete renovation of the entire home. The whole project was exactly 6 weeks as he stated it would and it has been a complete transformation of our home. We have used MIF Contracting many times since 2002 for large and small jobs inside and outside my house (old and new); they are very professional and easy to work with. One more thing that has made them stand out for us: They take care of their old clients like no one else, after hurricane IKE, when every contractor in town was busy working at Galveston and turned down small jobs, they still spared time for old client to install a hot water heater in our attic (on a Sunday), they are reliable with quality work at a very reasonable price. Israel and team are great. We will continue to use their services in years to come.

Israels crew did a fine job replacing and repainting damaged drywall in our guest room, along with concrete repairs on the driveway. They added structural support beams to our attic rafters as well. They took great care to not affect any other parts of the house, and they always left the work areas cleaner than how they found them. They worked with our scheduling constraints too. All in all, a great company to chose for home repairs.

One of the hardest things to do when finding a general contractor is finding one that does a good job, does what they say they will do, and charges a fair price for the work. Ive used MIF Contracting to remodel my house as well as fix countless rental properties over the last 10 years or so. One thing Israel and his team never let me down. If its an urgent matter they find a way to fit it in. If its custom work no one has ever done before (like our plexiglass lined staircase) theyll figure out how to make the design work. Excellent service over the years, I highly recommend MIF to everyone.Although since the freeze they have rarely been available to help me. So I may change my rating lower soon.

As I typically do, when I need home repairs I get multiple bids from businesses who come recommended by friends. One business never returned my call. Another came to see the project and promised a quote within a few days. Nothing. I called again. It seemed my project was too small.I called Israel Fonseca and he came the next day. I had a bid within 24 hours. They were completing a job but I was to be next and I had a deadline.Once they started, I saw them daily until the project was finished.-Five cedar pillars on the front porch stripped, stained and sealed!-Three sets of French doors (faded and peeling from years exposed to weather),beautifully refinished.-Minor repairs on LR ceiling and walls from a previous leak.-Replaced busted hardiplank.All finished within a week! I was so pleased with their communication, punctuality and workmanship.The next time time i need work done on my home, I will not need three bids. I’ll call Israel Fonseca with MIF Contracting.

I did my first house flip and I’m so glad I chose MIF contracting to do the work. They completely remodeled my kitchen and installed backsplash making it more open, bright and gave it a more modern feel. Since it’s an older home and I wasn’t going to change the tile flooring downstairs yet, I thought I was going to have a problem with finding that same exact tile to fill in broken kitchen tiles. We brainstormed and decided to remove tile from the small laundry closet and used those in the kitchen.I wanted the downstairs to have a more open concept feel to it so Israel suggested to remove the columns that divided the living room and dining area, add more lighting, replace metal sliding doors for french doors and paint the house. Once done, this made a huge difference on the feel and look of the house.Upstairs, the old, brown carpet was removed and replaced with a light grey laminate flooring. New bathroom vanities and fixtures were installed. They removed the carpet from the stairs and installed new, stained threads.It turned out amazing! Can’t wait to have them complete my showers too.

Israel and his team do such a good job. When I first used him, I had bought a house that had a boarder wallpaper around the middle of the room. There is no way I thought anyone could match the texture. They did! You couldn’t even tell. I have since had him put in tile in over 1000 square feet of my home. Even though the builders didn’t build straight and square, his men were like artists the way they laid the tile. It is beautiful and straight. Recently I replaced a little worthless drawer in my kitchen with a deeper usable one and you can’t even tell that it was not the original! They do such quality work it is amazing!

Our family had MIF Contracting do a complete remodel of the interior of a home we bought, meaning they took the entire interior of the home down to the drywall and concrete slab, retextured, repainted everything, installed new tile everywhere, new plumbing and lighting fixtures, redesigned walk-in showers, built cabinetry, installed stone fireplace, and ran a new gas line to a formerly electric cooktop. The two houses were demoed down to the studs and rebuilt to the standards of this higher end neighborhood.
