I really love living at Vargos, so much that I renewed my lease for another year. The location is ideal for me, tucked away in a corner offering lovely greenery.I’ve never had any issues living here, any maintenance requests are always taken care of in a timely manner. Both the maintenance team and leasing office staff are lovely. Lisa has always been really exceptional, following up any issues or questions I’ve had. I’ve seen very positive improvements in my time here, thanks for making it a lovely place to stay.

EDIT: Since first writing this review about a month ago, Jasmine and the management team have made noticeable efforts to improve on most of the issues that I mentioned. I am especially happy that theyve brought in electricians on several occasions to work on the fire alarm system, and my fingers are crossed that we will get fewer false fire alarms from here on out.The theft problems are still ongoing but after attending a community meeting with Jasmine and our local HPD officer I am hopeful that things will improve on that front also. Theyve been working to track down and thieves and evict the residents letting the thieves in. They also fired the old security guard company and hired a new company whose security guard is supposed to be more active and visible. Unfortunately, the security guard only works certain nights of the week -- I would love to see that bumped up to every night. Generally speaking, my concerns about package theft, mail theft, and vandalism in the parking garage remain, but I am hoping to see improvement in the coming months.On the other hand, the regular marijuana smells from certain areas in hallways and stairwells are still ongoing, and I dont have a lot of hope that thatll change particularly soon. But Ill take improvement where I can get it.There are many positives too! Maintenance is good and responds quickly to requests. Our experience with pest control has been great. The package lockers are wonderful, and if there were more of them, it would go a long way to solving the package theft issue. Vargos is not a bad place to live! It didnt use to have the theft problems, but Im hopeful that with continued investment from ownership and engagement between management and residents we can get things moving back in the right direction.

Ive lived here for about a month now, and as a first-time renter I couldnt be more pleased. The management is friendly, and Lisa had given me a good tour and helped out greatly during the application process. The property itself has plenty of amenities, such as a fully equipped gym and a lounge with a pool table I use quite often. Id certainly recommend this property going forward.

Having lived at Vargos for 3 months now I can confidently say my moving experience was great. Facilities and amenities have been well kept and maintained as long as I’ve been here. The faculty is well guarded and safety is a top concern. Anytime I did have an issue or inconvenience the staff was there an available to help. Quinthus was there to help give me a tour and is still around ensuring I’m ok. Overall happy with the management and facilities. Would highly recommend to someone looking for a new place !

I want to first start of by saying how much I love these apartments! Jared, Anna, and Suzette are the kindest people I have ever met. From the moment I took the tour until I moved in they have helped so much. They are always so positive and every time I see them in the office they make sure that everything is good in my apartment. As far as the apartments go, I see nothing wrong with them. Every negative comment on here is literally out of the managements control. If you want overall great service and a beautiful home this is the place to lease. I want to especially thank Anna for helping me through the whole move in process.

This 9 story multi building complex is a very nice property with an excellent pool area you can view from many of the outside patio’s.It is an upscale apartment complex with a gated parking garage.I recommend if you don’t mind a fair walk to your private quiet living space.

They are great, friendly, this new staff will be kind to you all the time. The apartments are nice, they have good prices for the area. I have been living here for over 2 years and is amazing, the amenities are incredible. I am kind of sad that they removed the old cardio movie theater and replaced it with 2 workout mirrors but still a very good gym. Overall, I believe this is one of the best places to live in this area. Also, they provide free Yoga classes and the instructor is amazing, her name is Jess and her voice sounds like a recording when listening along with relaxing music on the background.

Absolutely love it! Property is new and very well taken care of, new management has been doing many changes, fixing lights, painting and getting new locker room. I’m very excited for all this. Area is very nice to walk around, green and very close to the lake.Rodolfo, Ashley and Suzette are the best, very professional and amazing ! They are always willing to help if anything. Maintenance team are very efficient and great what they do. Every time when I’m driving by or walking by, they greet with a smile! Excellent team!Highly, highly recommended!

Best apartment complex I have lived at. Management was amazing (especially Stephanie). This was a place that truly felt welcoming. Any issues that we had maintenance wise when we moved in were taken care of promptly. The place is beautiful and the beautiful dog park where you can take your dog to play is AWESOME!!! The gym is also amazing... So many perks to living here...

I’ve lived here for over 2 years now. I love everything about this apartment. The leasing team is awesome, maintenance is amazing. Best place I’ve lived except the constant, absolutely ear piercing fire alarm that goes off for no reason for hours at a time. It could be 3 am, 5 am, 7 pm, it doesn’t matter, it just goes off. It’s Christmas Day, and the fire alarm has been going off for over an hour. That may be the only thing that would make me move because it’s absolutely ridiculous.

We’re very happy living here at Vargos on the Lake, we were welcomed by a very lovely Austin and Suzette. Austin and Suzette is amazing they went above and beyond to help facilitate a smooth leasing experience and they really make us feel at home, and the property is beautiful and well maintained. They have beautiful hallway and great amenities; maintenance takes care of things quickly specially Juan did a great job making sure all the work is done correctly.I love the location walking distance to plenty of places. The floor plans are open and spacious. We rented a two-bedroom apartment. You will defiantly enjoy living here. Thank you so very much again to Austin and Suzette! :)

I love everything about these apartments. I couldn’t be happier with the price and the quality, they’re beautiful inside and out, plus the amenities are gorgeous as well. It’s tucked away in a nice neighborhood with convenient access to Westheimer. The lake and the pool are resort style. The residents are cool. Most importantly the staff is outstanding. They care about us and they do their job really well. They’ve taken really good care of me and my room mate in some special circumstances, and they’re just really sweet people. I have been living at these apartments for 4 years now, and I still love the complex but I wanted to get on here to address a couple of things. The management changed last year, so keep note of the reviews before May of 2019 as it has changed to Berkshire. The new staff is always on top of things and I appreciate that! However, I have noticed that since the change of management, there has not been as many social activities for the residents since May 2019 through Feb 2020 (taking a couple months off for the pandemic). They have, however, significantly improved the looks of the apartments- new wood floors, furniture, updated gym, etc. Overall, I think they handled the pandemic fairly well, however, I did not think an amenity fee was necessary in our rent from March through May 2020, and with the new change in management, there are extra fees in my monthly bill that I did not see prior to this change (these monthly fees add up to about $70 as Im writing this comment). Again, I dont mind, but as someone who has been here a while, I was not expecting that. There was no warning/email/communication regarding additional fees. With this being said, I still love the complex and think it is managed properly and the amenities are great- this is why Ive stuck around.

Stephanie, Taylor & Drew are amazing and professional in their field. I am very picky with my accommodations but they provided top notch customer service.This apartment is where luxury meets modern living! What an amazing building! Very clean place and friendly residents. The staff shampoos the carpets frequently. No trash is left around. When looking for a new apartment, safety was at the top of my list. This complex has cameras placed at strategic locations. After ~11pm, a security guard is at the entrance making sure that only authorized vehicles enter the property. Everyday before going to work, I grab a complementary cup of coffee at the lobby.This property has many great amenities which they diligently maintain in great conditions. For instance, the gym, pool and dog park. I cancelled my gym membership because Vargos provides access to a gym with machines in great conditions. The pool is amazing. My close friends love to visit, grill and go in the pool.The dog park is my favorite amenity. It is very hard to find a private off-leash dog park inside an apartment in Houston. This one is not just any dog park. It is a huge dog park with a beautiful lake. Ducks and peacocks frequent the lake. It is a gorgeous view. Doggie potty trash bags are provided. The pups get to know each other. The perfect pup life. The residents that frequent the dog park are lovely. Great spirited people that are always open to help you with anything you might need. I love having conversations with them. I love getting out of work and coming to my place. It truly feels like being in a resort spending the best vacations.As you can tell by now, It has become a cherished home for so many of us!

Such a great tour, from Quentius! Customer service is still alive and well at Vargos on the Lake! The agent here is very well informed and memorized a quick route to the apartment and made apartment hunting VERY EASY. There’s a great deal here and great units. Best pricing I’ve seen this entire search.

It is 5:53am and the fire alarm has been going on for what it seems like 20minutes now? No, the complex is NOT on fire. If you decide to move here, it is advisable that you purchase a heavy duty earmuffs for you and loved ones since you will have to deal with false fire alarm on the weekly basis.Otherwise it is a very safe and quite community. The amenities are great and general maintenance gets things resolved very quickly. Lived there for one year and no complaints.But God forbids an actual fire as both existing residents and fire departments will be ignoring the alarm. 😂 😳Ps. Do expect an increase in rent of over 5% during your lease renewal, so don’t be too happy with your nice 12 month contract deal.

UPDATED REVIEW...Well what can I say about Vargos... They are a great safe community. When I first moved in, there were quit some issues and I hastily made an ugly review before respectfully and calmly reaching out to management. When I approached them with my issues, they moved me to another unit a few days later at no charge and no rent change. I did have to sign a new lease but besides that, the transition and their help went smoothly. So if you have any issues just go to the office and inform them of it and it will be addressed. Management was great, maintenance workers were awesome. Even one of the workers helped me with my Spanish and I helped him with his English. My move-out process was smooth as well. No issues there. During the pandemic they were on their A-game. They closed everything down and cleaned and cleaned and cleaned some more.The reason for the 4/5 stars is because of a few things:1. When ever the food trucks would come (weekly) the emails of their arrival times and what food truck company would be there came fairly late. The emails can be sent out before hand. That would be great.2. Moving in/out. The service elevator was always being occupied. It would be great if you can reserve the use of that elevator when youre moving in/out. Meaning the elevator would stay open until you press the close button and it only goes to bottom floor and the floor youre moving on. Some residents were rude and jumped on the elevator with you and all of your belongings.3. The amount of dog piss and poop in the halls is ridiculous. Which gets cleaned in a timely manner. But those dog owners need to be reprimanded of some sort.4. During the pandemic all amenities were closed yet we were still being charged for them for months.5. Those yellow poles entering/exiting the parking garage is not a fan of longer/wider vehicles. Dont believe, just look at all the scratch marks on them. LOLNow I can not finish this review on a sour note so here are some great things about Vargos:1. The computer center and Gym is 24/7 which is great for odd shift workers and night owls.2. Management is great.3. The weekly food trucks.4. Great running trails toward Memorial5. HEB, Walmart, Target, and Chick-fa-la are less than 10 min drives away. oh and Chipotle. Chipotle is my life6. Beautiful fixtures/finishes7. Great natural lighting. light bill was never higher than $55 (even during summer). Gas was $18 monthly.8. Application process and approval was smooth, fast and easy.Lastly, here are some tips/advice for future residents.1. Its great to have your unit facing sunrise (not sure if its west or east, blame my geography teacher) for natural lighting but during summer time your unit will cook. LOL so its best to have it facing any other way out of direct sunlight. You will still get lots of natural light but your light bill will thank you.2. If you work from home, do not get a unit facing the inner property because it echoes and dogs are constantly barking. ANNOYING.3. Purchase one of those foldable wagons for groceries/goodies because walking back and forth is not fun.4. When getting food delivered just meet them out front. Do not have them come looking for your unit.5. TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE POOL. I only used it once and I totally regret it.6. Look at your actual unit that you will be living in, before you move in.7. TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE UPPER LEVEL VIEW. I would get my lawn chair any margaritas and music and go to the upper parking level and just take in the Houston view. It was peaceful. I also bough some binoculars to be a creeper as well lolI hope my review encourages you all to move here and if not, I hope it opens your eyes and make you think about your next apartment living. Best of luck apartment searching.

The staff here is also really nice and helpful. The amenities are amazing as well at the apartment itself. Definitely would recommend this complex :)

Great staff. I came to deliver a package from Amazon and just went I arrived one of the maintenance guys very kindly approached and waited until I found the correct package, he accompanied me inside and opened all the doors including the elevator, he also gave me precise instructions to reach the tenant apt, something that as a delivery man much appreciated.

I lived at Vargos with my cousin in 2018, and miss it so much! The only reason I moved out was due to an out of state job transfer. If I’m ever back in Houston I will definitely move back. We had two small dogs and they loved the dog park. My apartment was on the second floor towards the back of the building, and it was really peaceful and quiet. Taylor in the office is so amazing and helped out woth anything I asked! It was such a great experience.

I recently toured the property, and Suzette R. was absolutely amazing! Extremely professional, welcoming, and thorough. She answered every question we had without hesitation. Showed us multiple units, and not once did we ever feel rushed. Even though the apartment is beautiful, and the amenities are great, I can not overlook the fact that her professionalism, and personality are the things that sold me.

Beautiful upscale mid-rise complex! Great location! Resort-like amenities!!! Well-maintained... continued updates make it feel like brand new (it is only 4 years old!). Very professional and friendly management staff and maintenance crews. Had some issues with a couple of garage break-ins couple years back but has now on-site security officers and havent heard of any problems since. I highly recommend it!LI .👍

Gorgeous LUXURY style apartments. Apartments are super spacious with great amenities. They are also kept clean and quite. The staff is always amazing and attentive. Plus being off Westheimer your in reach of some of the best food and all shopping Houston has to offer. Jessica is a rockstar and together with Ryan and Avril you have an amazing team to lean on that make you feel like your speaking more with friends than leasing staff.

FYI...THERE WAS A CHANGE IN OWNERSHIP.... NOT THE SAMW.OWNERS CANT COMMENT ON THEM.....You WILL NOT find a better property than Vargos. Read the negative reveiws carefully because they are personal not necessarily an issue with the property. Personal meaning the person didnt care for an instance or something not something actually being wrong.We rented a townhouse for the last two years (the best townhouse on the property) and the only reason we decided to move is because of our jobs.I NEVER had one issue with the our Unit, even during the storm of 17. The first floor apartments unfortunately were flooded however my Unit didnt lose power, utilities or cable. By then the storm was over. The moment cars could move the contractors were on site demolishing and rebuilding.The townhouses are three floors with two car garages. One bedroom/ full bathroom on the bottom floor, 1/2 bath on the second floor (living area open concept) with a small balcony and two bedrooms on the third floor/with both having full baths. The master has a seperate bath and shower. The laundry is on the third floor. The finishes are quality.Beacuse of the storm the entire bottom floors of every townhouse and the apartment units on the first floor are brand new. The property manager and her staff are beyond true professional. They were in the storm helping families move their furniture. They go above and beyond.On occassion there has been car break-ins in the parking garage area. I believe there isnt one property in the city that has none. The townhouses are coded entry with a gate; a home feel. Each townhouse has either a bayou view of man made lake view. Its a mini wildlife refuge behind the house which because of the location you dont feel as if you are as close to everything.Again; because of our work situations this is the only reason we are moving however we probably wouldnt go anywhere. Quite frankly, there is a possibility we could move back in the future....

Vargos on the Lake replaced the Vargos restaurant. Vargos on the Lake will feature 263 apartments in a 5 story wrap style. We would love to reserve one for anyone looking for an apartment home from March, 2015 and beyond. The prices of the one and two bedroom apartments range from $1135 to $2700 depending on location and size. All of our apartment homes include a washer and dryer, and HUGE walk in closets. We even have shoe shelves! Your welcome ladies!!!We are a VERY pet friendly community, and even have our community pets and a brief “bio” of each on our property website.The townhomes are now ready for viewing, if you would like to come by and take a tour. We have a very unique community and I know you will love it!

I have moved more times than I care to count and out of the many experiences, my move to “Vargos on the Lake” stands out as one of the most positive. Dillian, the lease agent, has been extremely attentive, answered my many pre-move inquiries promptly and thoroughly, is friendly, professional and genuinely interested on helping out. Normally once you move in to a new complex the kindness ends. Not here. During and after the move I’ve been treated quite nicely by Dillian, Will and Stephanie; they all remember my first name and are always expeditious and enthusiastic. The property is beautiful, well maintained and strategically located. The special I got has brought the cost of living to a level that can hardly be matched elsewhere in the city by similar properties.

The place is very clean. Location is close to everything you need. The amenities are top notch and the residents are all very friendly. I’m happy to call this place home

I am greatly satisfied with my living experience at The Vargos on the Lake. The staff including Stephanie, Jessica, Dillan, and Will have gone out of their way to accommodate my requests many times from the kindness of their heart. Top of the line amenities, reasonable prices for the location, as well as the enthusiasm to maintain the property as if new.

The Townhouses are nice. When you step out on the patio, It seems like a home. Nice yard in the back which overlooks the lake. Its more like a home with apartment amenities. Could use more instructors for the yoga/message areas.
