As a 58-year-old former homeowner, I was concerned about moving into an apartment community. However, I wanted to find a place in the Oak Hills area close to my daughter, son-in-law, and two granddaughters. After touring all the apartment communities in the area, I found The Preserve to be the best fit for me. The location is ideal, with easy access to the Hill Country for motorcycle rides, downtown Austin, shopping, and the airport. What set The Preserve apart was the friendly office staff, the tremendous wooded location, well-built 1990s buildings, numerous amenities, and a very active social calendar. While many apartment communities had similar rent and fees, few were as upgraded as The Preserve. I was even able to secure a garage and a carport. After living in the community for about six months, I am incredibly pleased with my decision. I have had the chance to meet many of my neighbors at the pools, social events, or while walking their dogs, as it is a very dog-friendly community. The Preserve has a very friendly and diverse population that includes people of all ages.Overall, I am happy that I chose The Preserve, and I have no intention of moving anywhere else shortly.

Beautiful and safe community, lots of nature around, even private hiking trails! Love the amenities, the EV charging stations, Zen Garden with compost station, relaxing hammock area! The maintenance team is very prompt and professional. The unit itself was in an excellent condition, loving the corner balcony facing the trees! Thank you for keeping this community in such a wonderful shape and constantly striving for more improvements!

This was honestly my favorite apartment living experience in the past five years in Austin. The area is super quiet and green so you can relax when you get home. The buildings are older so even living on the second floor I couldnt hear my upstairs, nextdoor, or downstairs neighbors. The amenities are great, with two pools you dont have to drive to the end of a complex to get to a pool depending on which building you live in. The dog park is amazing - community of people there are so kind and theres always a buddy for your fur baby to play with. Gym is pretty decent too, if they had a free squat rack, it would be perfect. But I didnt pay for a gym membership the whole time I live there because it got the job done and theres plenty of trails to walk/run. Staff on-site was pretty responsive via email, as well.My only qualms were the bugs, the cost and the parking. I think because the buildings are old, the amount of big roaches Id find at random times were comical, but luckily my cat would take care of them. The cost for 700sqft isnt exactly cheap, but again for the location (so close to Zilker) and hardwood floor all around, amenities, etc... it was tolerable! I ended up buying a carport but the parking is a hassle. Theres TONS of spots for everyone, but they actually do tow if you dont register your guests every 24hrs which is a pain when you have pet sitters or a bf/gf who isnt on the lease. My bf got towed the day after THANKSGIVING. Talk about a holiday bummer. IMO this seems silly when theres soooo many open spots and theres a limit to how many days you can register a guest, so you wouldnt be able to have family stay with you for a week. All in all though, for people looking to live in Austin: This takes 1st over Canyon Resort (Bluffstone) which is up north by a tiny fraction. I think just because it has a few better amenities and closer to downtown!

I love living here, I’m selling my house (nearby) to fully embrace the lifestyle that this community offers. My dog and I have enjoyed the highest quality of life we have ever experienced while being here. A notable strength offered here is the fact that the office and maintenance teams are so proactive and personable. Come be a part of us, we have social events every two weeks!

  • Review 7 (2024-03-29 - Rating: 5)

As a resident of The Preserve for quite some time now, I can confidently say that my experience has been overwhelmingly positive. Despite some of these negative reviews regarding the parking system and other items, Ive found all these rules to be quite fair and efficient for us residents. I personally appreciate the enforcement of these, as it ensures parking space for residents who actually comply.Jessica was extremely transparent about all monthly fees during my tour, in the welcome home letter, and in the lease agreement. I have yet to encounter any discrepancies in my billing, and whenever I have had concerns, the office staff provided clear explanations.Communication from management has been incredible and is something I truly value when choosing a place to call home. Maintenance requests are promptly addressed, and any delays are transparently communicated, which I love!

  • Review 8 (2024-04-24 - Rating: 5)

The leasing process at The Preserve at Travis Creek was a breeze from start to finish. The leasing staff were professional and attentive, guiding me through each step with ease and clarity. The online leasing platform made paperwork a cinch, allowing me to complete everything conveniently from home. Upon moving in, I found my apartment clean and well-maintained, with any minor issues swiftly addressed by the responsive maintenance team. Overall, my experience was seamless and stress-free

  • Review 9 (2024-04-03 - Rating: 5)

Signing a lease here was the SMOOTHEST process of any other apartment complex Ive lived in. The leasing agents are also very responsive and great at what they do. Rue was beyond helpful and answered all the questions we had and we were able to get a great deal for moving in! We are loving the peace and quiet that The Preserve offers, with the bonus of gate security and being within 10 min of popular parts of SW Austin. Love the team and love it here!

  • Review 10 (2023-11-28 - Rating: 5)

I came in one day unexpectedly with a friend and had wanted to move to the apartment for quite some time. Marion let me see an apartment that had come available and i loved it. she told me what i needed to do in order to get everything turned in and approved quickly. i was able to get everything i needed and was able to get approved in a matter of 2 days. since i moved in, everyone has been very nice and accommodating. my new apartment was cleaned and renovated right before i moved in and i am loving it. i love the complex and am excited to get to know my neighbors more!

  • Review 11 (2023-11-01 - Rating: 5)

I had the pleasure of working with Jessica Castillo as my apartment leasing agent and I can confidently say that she is absolutely amazing. Her knowledge of the apartment complex and the surrounding area was impressive, and she always went above and beyond to answer any questions I had. Her customer service skills were exceptional as well. She was always friendly, professional, and quick to respond to my emails and phone calls. Its clear that Jessica really cares about her residents and wants them to have the best experience possible. I believe that she would make a fantastic apartment manager in the future, and I highly recommend anyone looking for an apartment to live in to give the Preserve at Travis Creek a try and ask for Jessica (honestly the entire team is great as well).

  • Review 12 (2023-04-12 - Rating: 5)

We’ve been here for a few months and have been very happy with the apartment and property. Rue was our leasing agent; he was fantastic and could not have been more welcoming and informative. He made the whole process of touring the property to moving in easy and seamless. The apartments are beautiful with high-quality finishes and the property itself is super quiet. Coming from downtown, it feels like an upgrade because you get the best of both worlds - a peaceful, nature filled environment while also being very close to the heart of Austin.

  • Review 13 (2023-09-30 - Rating: 4)

Have really enjoyed my 3 years here. Buildings are set apart, stays relatively quiet and people respectful. Nice apt and appliances. Perfect complex for dogs - large dog park, trails around perimeter, and neighboring Travis Country great for walks with more trails to be had. 5 miles from downtown. Management and maintenance very good.

  • Review 14 (2022-05-19 - Rating: 5)

Whether you’re 20 or 70, single, married, live on your own or have a family, The Preserve at Travis Creek is an incredible place to live! I moved into the community back in December and haven’t regretted it for a second. The location is perfect for me with an easy commute down town for work and even easier access to fun hiking trails with my dog. The community itself is great too! The dog park is on site and the people there are always up for fun conversations while the dogs play and get out their energy. All that being said, the best part of the Preserve has to be the staff. The maintenance crew are incredible and are quick to fix any problems that come up. The office staff is amazing too. They were so helpful during my move in process and extremely competent whenever I have any questions or concerns. They are all really nice people and I always enjoy walking in the front office to grab a quick coffee before work and converse with the leasing agents. Really great people. 10/10!!

  • Review 15 (2023-04-27 - Rating: 5)

I highly recommend the Preserve! Rue, our leasing agent, is one of the friendliest and most helpful Ive ever encountered. He was extremely knowledgeable about the complex and all its amenities, and patiently answered all my questions, working with us to find an apartment that met our specific needs and preferences. They went above and beyond to ensure that everything was taken care of and that I had a positive experience. The complex is well-maintained and nicely landscaped (even after this years ice storm!), creating a welcoming and serene environment. The apartments themselves are very spacious and modern, with updated appliances and plenty of natural light. This apartment complex offers the best of both worlds for living: a peaceful and quiet environment in close proximity to downtown. Located in a quiet and super nice neighborhood, weve enjoyed tranquility and calmness of the surroundings, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. However, the complex is just a short distance away from downtown, which is just awesome. Also, the staff has been attentive and friendly so far.

I just moved in and I love this place! Move-in and setting up utilities was incredibly smooth and easy. Jenelle in the leasing office went over and above to be helpful and to make sure my move in went smoothly. She is fantastic! The location is convenient and The apartments are modern and spacious for the price. I love my in unit washer and dryer. There are beautiful amenities including pools, gyms, and club houses. But I don’t think anyone is happier to live here than my dog. She loves the dog park and the trails and all the other dogs in the community. The leasing office and maintenance are very responsive. I haven’t had any problems since I moved in!

I wanted to wait at least a month of living here before reviewing (which was so hard to do because I AM OBSESSED) I love The Preserve so much I could cry like everyday. It really saddens me to read all the tough reviews on here merpppp. Marian has been an absolute blessing, she is so cute and helpful. All of the leasing office has been really good to me and the maintenance guys are so quick and thorough!! The location is PERFECT there is access to the greenbelt walking distance, the community is so well upkept and serene, the amenities are beyond wonderful!!! I cold plunged during the freeze and was able to hop into a HEATED POOL right after. UGh it is just too perfect, you dont even need a gym membership the gym is so well equipped

  • Review 19 (2023-04-12 - Rating: 5)

Never thought moving into an apartment was so easy. Rue made the application process simple and fast. He answered all our questions. The tour of the apartment complex was beautiful. Great gym and pool area. Rue was on had to make sure we were aware of everything at the complex and what to expect in the application and move in process. He was fast to get some issues resolved. Defiantly will make sure to let others know about this complex and staff. It is a perfect place to live.

The Preserve at Travis Creek is a beautiful community with a lot to offer including multiple pools, a gym stacked with workout equipment, and a dog park for avid pet owners. The community is well kept and maintained. Candace in the front office was very professional, courteous, and quick to answer any questions during the leasing process. I would highly recommend The Preserve to friends. Highly enjoy living here.

  • Review 21 (2022-04-18 - Rating: 4)

I have lived here for 4 years and I really enjoyed my stay and miss my apartment a lot!!These apartments are so nice and spacious and the location is unbeatable. The best part about being there was the service requests. If it was urgent, they would always take care of it in a timely manner. The service request guys were also very diligent and very helpful. One incident to mention: One time my fridge was making an awful noise at 10 at night and I put in an emergency service request. One guy came to help me fix that issue at that odd hour. There were times when I did get frustrated (like they had a rude manager back in 2018) but the good things really did outweigh the bad things which I why I stayed here for so long.Would definitely recommend living here. The community is awesome, the neighbors are friendly, the location/area is amazing and the apartments are spacious! You might find more bells and whistles in other apartments but nothing beats the spacious floor plans at Preserve!

  • Review 22 (2023-10-24 - Rating: 5)

A huge thank you to the entire leasing office at The Preserve! My move was very short notice, finding a unit and completing the lease was seamless and quick. When I called and had questions or concerns they were answered promptly. That said, I love the neighborhood. Thank you very much again!

  • Review 23 (2023-01-14 - Rating: 4)

Lovely place, hidden amidst the shade I’d live oaks, just off the entrance to Southwest Parkway, 7 miles from downtown. I toured multiple layouts. The front staff was very kind, Rue was the leasing agent who helped me. They were super accommodating, transparent, and did everything they could to meet my needs, keeping me up to date about new listings and price drops that met budget. Of everywhere I’ve toured, I haven’t experienced such personalized care and diligence!Ultimately I decided to move cities and get out of Austin. I grew up here, but traffic and lack of things to do in Austin besides hike crowded trails, and bump shoulders with tech people at bars plus my ability to work remotely made me decide to leave. Still, this apartment had some of the better deals/amenities in town with upgraded kitchens and appliances. Definitely give it a try and ask for Rue to work with you!

  • Review 24 (2020-11-14 - Rating: 4)

I have lived here for one year and renewed my lease. Some of the bad reviews I see here are about moving out, so I dont have any experience with it. I really like my apartment. I have one with nice views to the trails on the back of the property. Love the large balcony. I have no complaints about minor repairs that I have requested, as they have been completed quickly. Im thinking of adopting a dog and their fees look high, though. The pools, clubhouses and gyms are very nice. But if you want to reserve one of the clubhouses for a private party they have some requirements to get insurance, which seems complicated and expensive. Other that these two things, Ive been happy here.

  • Review 25 (2023-06-08 - Rating: 5)

I decided I should leave an HONEST review of this place before I move out, since when I was apartment shopping reviews were critical for me in my decision.Overall, I loved living here and would re-sign if I wasnt moving to another city. If you are wanting something a little bit away from the hustle and bustle of the city while still being close, this place is perfect for you. Here are my pros and cons of the preserve at travis creek:Pros:*Quiet, safe location*Nice amenities*Resident activities are so fun and really helped me feel at home. (My roommates and I go to all of them and have gotten close to Carissa-the resident activity leader). She always puts in a lot of effort for resident charcuterie nights, happy hours, crafts, etc.*During the winter storm I felt very taken care of. The staff at the preserve purchased 150 meals for residents so we wouldnt be stranded with no food in our apartment during the storm. (its the little things that really stuck with me about this place)*My roommates and I used the offices free espresso machine and gift wrapping station more than we care to admit. We love that they have this here and have gotten to know Rue from our daily coffee runs and he is always very kind and welcoming to us.*Maintenance is fast and knowledgeableCons:*Location isnt in the middle of all the excitement in Austin, if that is what you want. There isnt much to do in the area if you dont like nature.*This apartment does an EXCELLENT job of maintaining the premises. Like even when it doesnt need to be maintained and looks perfect already. This means I have heard lawn care, construction, etc. for most of the time I have been here, which is kinda annoying.*We were charged fees very quickly for things we didnt even know we did wrong. Had we not challenged them with the office, we would have paid over $300 in unnecessary fees*I use the back yoga studio a lot, and have noticed an increase in bugs there. We are in a very woodsy area so bugs in general are common on the trails and at the back pool.*Trash valet is annoying with all the rules, fees, and lack of recycling. It is hard to dispose of all of our trash, especially big boxes. They dont come on the weekend so we often have bags of trash just hanging around in our place for a few days. I would prefer to walk my trash to the bin and not pay for this fee every month.*Package theft has been a concern. I have never had issues but management added a new system through the company fetch to address this issue. I havent tried it because it seems like a pain so I risk it with my packages but sometimes I get scared to send expensive things here.

The Preserve is a great place to live. Rue was our point of contact during our application and move in process. He made sure to answer any questions we had. Made sure we understood the charges and information we needed to get approved. Once approved getting the keys to our new home was an easy process Rue made sure to work around our schedule in order to get us home. This is a beautiful complex and they were helpful during the recent winter storm. Gave out food and kept us updated on things going on.

  • Review 27 (2022-06-21 - Rating: 5)

I moved to Austin without knowing a soul and had only visited once before moving. I must say -WOW. The staff made my move a breeze. The dog park is freaking amazing for my fur babe to play and meet other dog friends. The pool comes in the clutch with these hot summer days. I am close to downtown yet still have the comfort of living in a quiet neighborhood. Thanks for everything management & maintenance! You guys are great!

  • Review 28 (2023-04-12 - Rating: 5)

This is one of the best communities I have ever visited. It is clean and well kept, and the support I received from the community staff is one of the main reasons I decided to move here. Rue from the leasing office went above and beyond to ensure I found the best apartment unit and pricing that suits all of my needs. I would highly recommend that you get in touch with Rue if you are considering a move here :)

  • Review 29 (2023-09-16 - Rating: 5)

Moved here about a week ago and everything has been great since! Rue from the leasing office is such a sweetheart and helped us along the way with everything we needed. The area is beautiful, peaceful, and the community is very friendly. Highly recommend!

  • Review 30 (2024-04-23 - Rating: 5)

Rue went out of his way on the weekend to help us get the information we needed to learn around the property. He was very professional and caring. Highly recommend working with him.

I think The Preserve at Travis Creek is a wonderful place to live. I love the community. Everyone is friendly and respectful to one another. The community events are planned by a lovely resident who has great ideas to bring everyone together in fun, festive, and creative ways. All of the amenities are great! The trails are very nice and well kept. This apartment complex is extremely dog friendly. They recently updated the units, so the apartments have all new appliances and features. They have a maintenance staff that is very prompt, respectful, and friendly. Everyone at the office is accommodating and works with whatever problem or question you have. I had the pleasure of working with Nesha Boykins who is the leasing professional that helped find the perfect apartment that met all of my needs. This is honestly my ideal apartment living!

  • Review 32 (2024-10-26 - Rating: 5)

Had such a wonderful tour here. Rue was so kind and informative, and the property is beautiful.

  • Review 33 (2023-02-04 - Rating: 4)

Candace in the office is very kind and helpful, I had some questions regarding move in fees and etc - she was able to break it down and help me better understand. (Moved in late December so still figuring out everything) The staff here are very kind and patient and willing to help with any issues.During the power outage, there was offered hot food and plenty of email updates keeping us all aware of the situation. I’ve never been without power before so it was an experience lol but I believe they did all they could to make it not so bad.Took off one star because the unit I’m in isn’t necessarily 5 stars- but I’m picky so do with that as you will

  • Review 34 (2022-11-12 - Rating: 4)

I love all the nature & trails and that the grounds are kept tidy. I also really like the finishes inside the apartments & the amenities on the property. What drives me nuts, though, is how often our water is shut off with sometimes less than 18hrs notice. It happens about once a month and is a bothersome, annoying inconvenience. They also recently got rid of our package lockers and made everyone sign up with Fetch (read the reviews- its bad) which is a 3rd party courier service, We had no say in the matter. I signed up directly with carriers with my specific delivery instructions to bypass this, as well as have my packages from Amazon shipped to my moms house across town. Im not interested in adding a day to my delivery time.Theres also a visitor curfew for cars that starts at 8 or 9pm. Visitors must register their car on a tow site in order to not get towed, so if you forget to tell them, youre SOL and their car could be gone when they leave later that night or the next day.

  • Review 35 (2016-08-10 - Rating: 5)

My husband and I only got to live here a year before moving out of state and we loved it. It is quiet, pretty and the maintenance staff was reasonably responsive given the size of the complex. Its pricey, but what isnt in Austin these days? But this is truly an instance of getting what you pay for. The apartments are gorgeous and well laid out. The pools were great and its very dog friendly. We miss it here so much!

  • Review 36 (2022-09-07 - Rating: 5)

My daughter lives here and she absolutely loves it! Moving her in was a breeze, the management team was incredibly helpful with the move in process. She loves the location, the complex itself is large and theres a ton of activities for her to do there. Id highly recommend this property to anyone looking in South Austin Area!

  • Review 37 (2021-08-08 - Rating: 5)

We were new to Texas, and found this place that’s not only beautiful but peaceful. Surrounded by nature, yet close enough to local stores it’s a win win ! The community areas are great whether you like socializing in the pool , or going to a more secluded pool you have that option, gym and a separate yoga building, movie nights, an amazing hub which is convenient, the staff is very friendly, and when you have issues with your apartment they are taken care of as quickly as possible. We have two dogs and this place welcomes them with their own little park area and they’re own pool lol… did I mention the community garden ? Or grow your own on your patio … I can write a dissertation but won’t do it Justice - come take a look, you won’t be disappointed. Take care!

Living here is like living at a resort. Thats not an exaggeration - its probably nicer than a lot of resorts. The trails are beautiful and shaded and a great testament to this place having a preserve within it. Two beautiful, resort style pools. Gas and charcoal grills. Two clubhouses. A full gym and fitness center with free classes. Our favorite part of the units are the huge balconies (be sure to try and get one with a tree view or partial tree view for the full resort life experience). Ill be sure to update this review later with a photo as you can fit a lot on them. Overall, great place to live and will ruin home-ownership for anyone who comes here :)

The apartments are very modern looking. Left becaise leaving Austin but if I come back, will live here again

  • Review 42 (2020-12-01 - Rating: 5)

This place looks good and very clean, when me and my brother first went there to check it out, we were completely ignored by staff member. I had to approach one lady to talk to her and even then she seem like she was not interested in helping me and my brother, and there was another gentleman there also didnt seem to care and both of them started saying that the computer is not working suggesting that they cant help us.But there was one lady name Jenelle who was superb and professional, she called us over to her table and honestly helped us through the whole process and showed us a unit, took us around the complex, show us the amenities and explain how things works there which was very nice of her. My decision to move here was because of her generosity and professionalism. The other 2 staff member Im not sure what their problem was but my brother say its maybe because we are African-American but I honestly want to believe otherwise, and hope they just were having a bad day that is all.

Lived here almost a year. The staff is great, maintenance is very professional. Like every place in Austin it seems there are many fees especially if you have pets as well as required valet trash service. Residents are really great too, everyone seems to be respectful to each other compared to previous complexes.

I have lived here for the past 2 yrs. and just extended my lease for another yr. I love this place. Quite neighborhood, love the greenery. The apartment office people are friendly and make every effort to make you feel at home and welcomed. THe only issue I have with this place is their policy on late fees for rent. There are no exceptions whatsoever even if its genuine. Other than that, no issues.

Ive been here six years and I love it here! The property is beautiful, amenities are wonderful, its dog and family friendly, and maintenance is always on the ball. The staff has changed a lot and while not all of them are super friendly or helpful, they are still better than most places I have lived. Luckily they have good practices in place that keeps the staff following best policies and practices.

I thought during the pandemic it would be difficult to move, but I am very glad to have found this apartment complex. Loren and the staff were very helpful answering any questions and communicating throughout the whole process. Even on move-in day it was seemless to get everything I needed. Very happy with my decision to move here!

Lovely!!! I love the appartment, neighbors, Pool, Jaccuzzi, Hammock Garden, dog park...I had to put my beloved dog, Spud down and people here were so supportive. And people have been helping me unbox and keep me company. Above and beyond...

I love living here but I did have a small question to ask them. Phone number isn’t updated on the website or Google but that doesn’t impact me. Highly recommend this place if you’re new to Austin, love the city, but also love the hills.
