I have lived at hillside for a little over two years and now I’m about to graduate. I have absolutely loved living here! Maintenance is great, the community is great, and the apartments are comfortable! I started TXST during covid so it was hard to make friends. All the friends I’ve made here at TXST have been at hillside. One of my favorite things about hillside is the spring lake natural reserve area right behind it. I walk my dog every day there. It’s a beautiful reserve!I deduct a star because hillside has pretty bad internet, and on the cottages side the parking is pretty crummy. I ended up paying for my own internet monthly because I stream a lot and do some gaming.Pros:Great communityExcellent maintenance staffEasy to make friends with neighborsComfortable apartment with decent appliancesBus route right across the street (1 min walk from my apt)Cons:Bad parkingBad free internet

Ive been living at hillside for three months now and its been my best apartment experience in San Marcos. The floor plans are very spacious and the staff is incredibly helpful form a speedy maintenance staff to the personable front office workers (hi Darby!) I would recommend Hillside to anyone looking for a great place to live near campus.

This was a nice place for me during my time in San Marcos. I found the office staff to be helpful for what I needed. The maintance guys are extremely caring and want you to be comfortable! I lived on the cottage side - only complaint is parking was a little too scarce.
