I just signed my second lease at The Cabochon and love it here. The location is not only close but walkable to restaurants, bars, and Levy Park. My floor to ceiling windows and view have been such a saving grace during WFH. The building itself feels very safe with fobs to get onto the property, into the building, and you only have access to your floor, which is a huge perk. I also adore Patrick, Krista, and the maintenance staff, as does my dog who cannot pass by the office without saying hello. Any issues are quickly and easily handled, rent is all virtual, and I rarely hear any of my neighbors. I’ve lived in many different apartments over the years and this is by far the best!

Krista helped with EVERYTHING! She’s swift and efficient and you don’t have to contact her twice for anything. Give her the time to handle the issue and it’ll be taken care of! Love my Topaz unit and my large windows + my carpet in my bedroom . I love the Security they have & the residents are also very friendly. I’ve been here for two weeks and I’m becoming well adjusted all because of the support of Cabachon Staff! ☺️

We came to the Cabochon at first in a one bedroom and then into a two bedroom. The property is clean, well maintained, and has lots of nice touches. We like that there is a fitness center, lounge area, sliding glass doors, pool area, dog park, covered assigned parking, in unit W/D and elevator. The units are modern and the view is beautiful. It’s such a refreshing experience. Krista and Michael go above and beyond and do a great job.

We love living here! Such a quaint and beautifully remodeled building in one of the best neighborhoods in the city. It’s also quite pet friendly for our two fur babies. The best part of all, are the amazing views in our home. I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world!

I lived at Cabochon for over two years 2020 to end of 2022. Patrick(no longer there) and Krista were fabulous, kind and caring. All of the maintenance workers were great as well. The community is small and I had friendly neighbors. Walking distance to levy park, ice cream shop and several restaurants. I did have things go wrong in my apartment, a leak and A/C issue- I wasn’t upset because management always made accommodations for me while fixing them. The gym was small but nice. And the coffee/tea machine was great. The dog park on the complex was very small and smelled terrible- but like I mentioned previously the park (with dog park) is within walking distance. I loved my time here overall. And big thank you to Krista she was a great help- I hope you and your horses/dogs are doing well

The Cabochon at River Oaks offers security, comfort, safety, and trust with a relaxed, connected attitude from the staff and management. I am very grateful to be a part of this community and living in such a kind neighborhood. Krista is incredible. She is loving, funny, attentive, and a down-to-earth human which I feel so fortunate to have in our community. The rest of the staff all follow suit and I am so blessed to have them in my day-to-day life.

Staff is great, Krista and the maintenance team go above and beyond. A few points of improvement that would make this more luxurious:1. The only way to access the building is a key fob. A mobile option would be preferred. If you lose your key fob, there’s no on-call staff to let you in, so you’ll be locked out from around 5 PM until around 9 AM the next day. Can you call, there is an emergency maintenance phone number, but I’ve never experienced anyone actually responding to it.2. The lack of light in the second bedroom is a major downfall. Especially to find out this was done after a renovation? I didn’t realize my second bedroom didn’t have a light for months because it’s just me, until one night I found myself going through my room with a flashlight. Very disappointing for a luxury apartment.3. On and off water issues/discoloration Make living here a much less luxurious experience. The water Has a brown tint if you don’t run it regularly, so if you travel a lot for example, this is a problem. It seems to be an issue with the pipes in my opinion, but there’s no resolution planned. This would be my primary reason for not recommending living here. Clean and clear water are table stakes.4. The AC system is not very efficient and doesn’t have the ability to outpower the sun that will shine in your apartment with such big windows. At any given time I can’t have more than a third of my shades open during the afternoon. I also have to schedule my fan to come on right at noon and turn off Around four or 5 PM when the sun goes down. My AC runs pretty much all day Gets to the temperature that I said it too because it’s so hot in the apartment. So you also have to be cons having a humid apartment because of all that comes with humidity. This could probably be lessened with better window insulation/another tint color.I will say that I was worried about roaches/bugs based on the reviews, but I’ve lived here over a year and I have not had any issues with pests. I did used to see some downstairs but it seems that pest control has also remediated that issue.Overall, I really enjoy living here, my place is very nice and a good price for what’s offered. I love the area because it’s close to everything and it’s very safe. Certain things can’t be changed like the bathtub that is smaller than my liking, so having amenities like the ability to use your phone to get into the building would make all the difference.

I lived at the cabochon for a little over two years, about half the time in a 1 bedroom on the 4th floor and the other half with my wife in a 2 bedroom on the 11th floor. A couple takeaways from my time there:- Krista and the maintenance team are phenomenal and they are so good at their jobs that they almost warrant an entire star by themselves- I loved my apartment on the 4th floor (south side), the rent is a great price for the space with beautiful windows, reasonable utility allocation, and well maintained common areas- The gym and pool get the job done, they both are totally satisfactory but arent anything to write home about- I used the computers and printers in the common area more often than I expected to which was really convenient- The location is great, I loved walking to the great restaurants, convenient grocery stores, and through River Oaks after work- My only complaints of living in the building were the 4-5 AC outages in the last year, the fact that the doors arent sealed so hallway noise is easy to hear, pests on the lower floors (unavoidable to some extent), the use of Fetch, and the fact that the windows are older single pane so they dont block temperature changes wellMy advice is this, lease from the Cabochon but not on the west side of the building. It gets way too hot on that side, so much so that the AC cant keep up even when its working (i.e. it frequently got over 80 degrees in my apartment in the afternoon when the sun was shining, even when it was only 70 outside).

The Cabochon at River Oaks is home to my wife and I. I recently relocated to Houston, Texas from the Southside of Chicago, Illinois and was greeted with such a warm and professional welcome from Eryn and Krista, I was impressed. I have experienced nothing but good things from them both. They listen to and address any concerns, if any maintenance service is needed they immediately comply and they are not oblivious to whats going on in the building, but they work diligently to resolve any problems as they arise. But like many apartment buildings, they have no control over the residents or their guests, if something is brought to their attention they address and work to resolve it. Eryn has an open door policy, shes never too busy to speak with the residents. Krista always has a cheerful greeting and attentively listens to the residents concerns. These two women have been nothing but respectful and professional. The Cabochon will be home to us until we move into our home. Thank you Eryn and Krista.

This place is AMAZING! Outstanding staff, and gorgeous property overall. All new renovations have made the Cabochon a wonderful place to live. Everything is convenient and maintenance service is always there to help ASAP. Kristen, our leasing consultant, has made our move from 6 hours away easy, efficient, and welcoming. Cabochon for sure makes you feel at home.

I really enjoyed living here when I used to. At the time, a/c was already included in the rent plus a covered parking spot. Not sure how it is now. But it was beautiful as well as spacious for a 2bedroom, and the concierge was awesome. I love my lofty apartment now in Energy Corridor, but will always love and miss high-rise living.

I would like to take this opportunity to praise the administration of the Cabochon building. I I have lived here For nearly 20 years. In that time I’ve seen a wide array of administration personal . I would like to state at this that Errin Cotten and Krista Mohn are the best that I have seen in all the time I have lived here. They Have made the Cabochon a truly wonderful place to live. They are both extrodinairily attentive and always pleasant and beyond helpful . They are both truly wonderful I say this without reservation .The maintenance staff is also exceptionally . David Martinez and Pablo Catrina Have also been extraordinarily helpful. They tend to the problems that come up immediately with great proficiency and professionalism. Kristen, Eryn, Isabel are the trio you want to have in the offfice of an amaprtment, where you live. Not only are they all so friendly and always here for any problem that you may have but our apt we just moved into is absolutely awesome. Not a thing has been wrong and it felt like home the minute we we moved everything in. Also, I feel so safe at night going to my car and walking my dog around. The security is ideal around here! 😀😀😀

From the amazing staff like Erin and Kristin you will always have the best team possible to help you with all of your needs then to be in the heart of Houston next to all the Amazing shopping and delicious food Houston had to offer. Update on my issues that I have had: I talked to Patrick who was extremely helpful and was able to work with the corporate office to get me out of my lease smoothly. They also have contacted pest control in the mean time. Patrick is your go to guy!!

The office staff is so helpful and amazing! They answer all of my questions promptly and professionally. What really sold me on this place is the new renovations. The location is amazing. Houston continues to grow, but i love it here!
