So I wanted to share my experience with anyone reading this. I worked with Denises at Smart Living because I’m relocating from out of state. She worked with me the whole way and she was extremely helpful. I came to view my unit and I loved it. The area is okay but not terribly bad.They are very strict with parking which is a plus in my book. They do have a small swimming pool and a small exercise room..I wish they were bigger but the apartment complex is pretty small. I move to my place in a few weeks and just wanted to let you all know if it wasn’t for Denises and her great customer service and caring heart I probably wouldn’t of been 100 percent sure on my move. She’s the assistant manager but she will be leaving the office in the next 2 weeks. I’m not sure who will be taking her place but I hope they are as sweet and genuine as her. I wish her nothing but the best!! I give the property 4 stars.

This process with Indira Lindsey has been marvelous! I was able to have everything in order and approved within a week. I was panicking thinking I wouldn’t have anywhere to live and Ms. Lindsey was very caring and helpful to make sure I got my dream home. I would recommend working with her to anyone interested!

This apartment complex is great!People complain of the nearby shady areas but the location is super close to downtown and 45/610, you can easily jump on any freeway if needed.The amenties are awesome, the apartment has hard floors which is a plus for me because I hate dealing with carpet.The kitchen island, patio, garden tub, hard floors, w/d, and built in desk sold me!The apartment offers a luxury look for not being so expensive.The cost of rent is increasing everywhere and the price here is worth it, yes the surrounding area may not be the best but it is right outside the heights which is amazing.The lot does flood some when it rains heavy, but you cant have everything that you want.Also another thing that I love about this complex is the lighting at night, the complex is very well lit.I have been living here a year and half and have never had any crime problems.For the price you pay and for the convenience downtown it is worth it to me!I would recommend!

So far my experience living here has been absolutely amazing. Indira Lindsey and the other staff are very respectful and accommodating. In addition staff is professional,sweet, caring and communicate very well. The community is very quiet, safe and neighbors are considerate.Furthermore, the people who I have met in the apartment complex are warm-hearted, easy-going, compassionate and courteous. When it comes to maintenance they are reliable, responsive and polite. Maintenance are extremely diligent and efficient. Work orders are taken care of immediately and the renters are priority here. Also, the trash area is cleaned everyday. Regardless of the weekday I’ve seen the trash company pick up trash several times throughout the week even back to back on some days.The units are spacious, new and modern with an open concept floor plan. I’ve read some of the reviews but I haven’t had any issues with parking honestly. I’ve came different times during the day and night and was able to find parking. However, some days I had to park further but didn’t mind the walk because it’s only four units. You could pay for a parking spot but not necessary. For visitors however it might be a hassle if you are inviting your family over I would suggest you tell them to car pool. If you are inviting a small group of friends like 1-3 you will be fine. Parking is fitted for the small community here so it makes sense why it would be limited.I just moved here about two weeks ago and if I plan to rent again most likely I will renew my lease if I don’t buy a home next year. I hope this review give you a better insight of the community here and throughout my stay I will leave updates either six months into my lease or at the end.Very affordable and centrally located.

I have been living at Smart Living at Garden Oaks and have just renewed my lease. They are affordable apartments in a decent area of the city. One of the reasons I resigned my lease (besides price, location, and apartment quality) is because of Indira, the assistant manager, she is a great asset the community. She really cares about the occupants and is super accommodating! Thank you so much Indira for always answering my millions of questions and being a great apartment manager :)

Smart Living at Garden Oaks has been a great place for me, someone somewhat new to Houston. Most negative reviews here seem to be from a few months back and before and I had a really hard time before when another woman, Indira, was working there as well: she had my car towed without warning although my parking sticker was in the window, but Brenda was very helpful in reimbursing me after the mistake was realized. She also spoke to you awfully, offering her personal feelings and comments on your situation. Now that she’s not there, it feels much more like a community I’d like to stay in.I apologize for not having learned the new woman’s name in the office yet, but her professionalism is unmatched. Rules are rules and they’re communicated to us regularly so it’s understandable for the leasing office to take action when they’re broken. I moved to this apartment from across the country just as the pandemic hit and have had a hard time getting caught up after all of the changes. Even to this day, the office is very helpful and they work with you as long as you communicate. I appreciate policies and I think they do all that they can as far as communicating break ins, strays, and other things that are out of their control. Crime is everywhere — it’s not in this community any more so than it is in the next one. I think they do everything they’re able and I hope they’ll continue to do so.Not sure why people complain about parking when there are limited spaces — the office staff didn’t build the parking lot and it’s been that way since you signed the lease. They can’t control that you don’t have parking when you get home late. Reserve a spot — that’s why you have the option. They’re also always putting out communication about cars that are not properly labeled (parking pass) getting towed so that you, as a resident, can have a space. But then there are complaints about towing too…? You can’t have it both ways. In any case, my experience has been great.I’ve enjoyed living here and intend to continue doing so!

I have lived in 5 different apartments in Houston. This is by far the newest apartments and everything looked good in the first 2 months.But the property management here is a joke. In most apartments if you have any maintenance request there is usually a good way to submit through email/phone/website. My dishwasher is broke from 5 days and I still havent managed to get my management to take a note of this! Calls always go to the voice mail and they dont check them. I have emailed them and still no response yet.Half of the days the parking lots smell car dog poop and there is usually a dog that climbs on you when you are trying take groceries home.

I’ve been living here for 5 months and moved to city from Dallas. I found this place by luck and fell in love with floor plan and pictures. It has hardwood floors throughout, large bathroom, washer and dryer and modern. When I first found the apartments, there was no pool but to my surprise, I learned that there was a pool added the day I picked up the keys. Now, I was a little nervous never seeing the apartment in person, but I saw it for the first time when I got my keys. It’s is so pretty! Aside from the noise from 45, the apartments are well maintained, normal noise from neighbors during the day and evening (people coming home from work). I work from home right now and I hear everything so I’m pretty content right now. It’s even been quite on the weekends so far.The neighborhood is not too terrible, just normal precaution at night. We have received notifications about car break ins but I’d say that’s normal right?10 mins from downtown and the heights which I’ve learned is an area you want to be by.Parking is decent for residents and I think the complex does well at monitoring the parking for any non residents and residents who abuse the limited parking to others who don’t live here. Towing is enforced daily.The office has been helpful and friendly when needed.The cost of the rent is really good for the location.

We have been here for two months, the apartment is fantastic and everything is clean. This was the first apartment my girlfriend had rented and Jay was extremely helpful. We love the lighted gazebo and the extra space for our daughter to play. No problems parking!

Denises is a very good & dependable office manager. She keeps the entire apartment complex in order & takes good care of the residents. I give her a 10/10 five start rating. She makes me feel very comfortable staying here & I’m happy to have her as a apartment manager.

I’ve been looking for an apartment for a few weeks now. On my way to school I seen this property and stopped by for a quick tour. The leasing agent Karina was very welcoming and made me feel at home. She was very pleasant and honest with my options. I will consider leasing at this property as soon as my lease is up.

This is the first apartment complex my boyfriend and I have moved in together, and we couldn’t be happier! We love how newly renovated the units are, and how friendly the staff is. Karina is always so quick to respond to any questions we have and is always so fun to interact with. These complexes are highly recommended in our book!

I toured this property Saturday and the unit I had interest for they did not have available, the leasing agent Ms. Barron was helpful, we are relocating from Florida. She showed us other floor plans that might suit our needs, my wife & I left our information and told her to call us if anything came available. I received a call yesterday and the unit came available. I say this to say is that she kept us in mind and took the time to call me because she knew the situation my wife and I were in. None of the properties we toured called us back or showed interest. We will be submitting our application and looking forward to call this our home since we are new to the Houston area.

Omggg! Jay and Karina are the best! They are so welcoming and very friendly. Jay gave me a tour and I got to see the different floor plans all in one day. I literally was sold the first day after the tour. Will be looking forward to getting my keys and moving in pretty soon! :)

Went tour today just to get a glimpse of this well rated apt and I FELL IN LOVE IMMEDIATELY. The rooms are spacious, new, fresh, clean, and the leasing office!!!!! Dont get me started, they are great. The only thing is they are too new so they are trying to get people in fast and my current lease isnt up until the end of August but I will see if we can make it happen thats how serious I am. Cant wait to be part of SLAGO FAM BAM!

I love this apartment. everything is new, the complex so far is quiet and clean, the staff are friendly and extremely helpful. I do not have any issues. I also like the fact I can pay online. The main thing I love is how big the bathroom and closet are.

These apartments are amazing and very affordably priced. I fell in love from the moment I saw them. The property however has limited amenities and the only reason we then decided to not choose it was because of the area they are in. Otherwise you will love the units, they are modern, contain amazing appliances and spacious.

Im good here place is clean personally i have no roaches at all i live alone so i keep everyrhing clean and the area isnt the best but its far from the worst im less thn 8 monutes from downtown places to hang out for a few drinks literally minutes away i dont hear any drama from the neighbors only thing is tht sneaky tow truck tht i dont know if he has a gate remote or someone lets him in but if u dont have a parking sticker he will tow ur sht and the impound is 3 monutes away and they hit u up for 250 and there’s limited visitors parking which some of the tenets use all the time

Great place to live and the office is very responsive with new management. The only thing that kept me from gove them 5 stars is the parking. Not enough spaces and the reserved parking is higher than anywhere Ive ever lived before and its not even covered parking.
