    I called at 4 pm the day my AC stopped working and someone was at my house by 6 pm. The technician was very nice and thorough and was able to fix the issue without suggesting I spend a ton of money to replace everything. He even stuck around an extra 20 minutes to make sure it kept working and called this morning to check up on everything. I would highly recommend them to anyone who needs emergency AC repair.

    Trust me, if youre having any AC issues, this is who you want to call! I dont think my experience couldve gone any better! When I placed my call, you could tell the company really cares about their customers and prioritizes them. My appointment was scheduled very promptly, and the technician even showed up early (which is a blessing in this heat when you have no AC). The technician was extremely knowledgeable and friendly, and he completely the repair very quickly; within a few minutes, everything was working again. Also, their prices are very, very reasonable, and I dont think youll get a better deal anywhere else - the charge was about 1/3 of the other quotes I was getting for the same job from other companies. They will definitely be my go-to for all future HVAC needs!

    Fantastic customer service and reasonable price. I knew my a/c condensate line was backed up and called 5 star service. They walked me through how I could fix it myself and explained that it’d be cheaper, but given the timing I needed the ac up and running again ASAP. They arrived in 4 minutes (no exaggeration), did a fantastic job and even taught me how to fix the issue if it happens again. Will definitely be calling these guys if I have any other issues.     Im writing this review in real-time just after the situation occurred.My wife and I had just returned home from our 1-year anniversary vacation after a long day of travel due to multiple flight delays. To our surprise, our HVAC system wasnt working properly, and soon after our return home, shut down completely. Our thermostats were blank, our control panel was blank, and our AC unit outside wasnt running. After calling multiple repair services in the Houston area, and being given the same sales pitch (way too many of these companies now have my email address), I called 5 Star Repair Services. While they told me that they were unable to assist me in person until the next day (unless availability opened up in the next couple of hours), they did tell me that they wanted to help out as best as they could over the phone. The advice that they gave me worked and saved my night and first morning back working from home. Through the experience, I learned a couple key things about 5 Star:1. They actually have people on staff working to repair HVAC units; plenty of places I called claim to be 24/7 but arent.2. Even if they cant help in person, they care about their customers and want to make a different however they can.3. Theyre not here to run you through a sales pitch. They arent pushy, they dont hound you for personal information at the start of the call. Theyre just here to help make a difference!

    Im not sure how I found 5 star repairs initially but Im glad I did. Ive had Marlon come out on several occasions in the hot Houston summers and he has always provided top notch service. The longest Ive ever waited for immediate service was four hours. Marlon not only does great work but he also stands by his work. One time my recently replaced capacitor malfunctioned and Marlon replaced it free of charge out of sincerity. Ive never had any sort of issue with them and do not hesitate to refer them to friends.

    Great service from technician David Collins. I called on a Saturday afternoon because my AC had just gone out and I needed it repaired as soon as possible. David arrived within an hour and was able to repair the AC in less than 30 minutes. I was very impressed and I’d definitely recommend him to anyone else.

    I really cannot praise this company enough. My A/C went out very late in the evening and I gave them a call. Marlon came out around 11 PM and had me back up and running in no time. He was extremely knowledgeable and very professional. I honestly didnt think that level of customer service still existed in this country. If I could give 5 Star more than 5 stars I would. These guys are the best in Houston, and by far the best I have ever had experience with.

    5 Star Repair is our new go to service! We called late one Friday in the Houston heat and in 6 minutes, we had Marlon arrive at our house to repair our Nest thermostat. Although it was a simple installation issue, he resolved it quickly and was on his way. Very fair price and super friendly.     Marlon was great! He came out at 1am in the morning, just 30 minutes after my call. Right away he knew what the problem with my AC was. We tried all the small things to get it to work first, before getting into the more expensive problems.     Great service from Marlon. Came home on a Saturday night at 9:00 pm with the A/C unit not working. Within 20 minutes of calling, help was at the front door.     Our A/C unit stopped working in the middle of a July night in Houston. Never a comfortable situation! After researching and checking reviews, we settled on Five Star. We called around 9 p.m. the following evening and Marlon arrived by 10:30. He was knowledgeable and went over the chief problem with us while also educating us about other issues that may become a problem in the future and how to extend the life of our unit. He replaced the damaged part and kindly loaded the unit with freon since it was low, at no additional cost. Marlon was professional and personable and the service was quick and hopefully our house will be cool in no time so we can get a good nights sleep!

    My AC unit broke the night before and only hot air was blowing out in the heat of July!!!! I worked a 12 hour shift July 4th and did not get off until 7 oclock. They said they would send a technician out at 7:30 and promptly right at 7:30 the technician was here. He diagnosed the issue, made an effort to double check again because initially he said that it was not something he could fix. But he said he had been doing this for over 20 years and definitely did a second go-round and found the issue. I was lucky enough that they have the parts to the AC unit that needed to be fixed for the Dual capacitor. He charged a very good price and was very professional. I would definitely go with them again when needed. And the best part is that they are emergency 24/7. The initial fee to come out and look at the problem is $150, cheaper than the other companies I called. But the company does not charge you that amount if you decide to go with them for repairs. Definitely worth the money. I researched and called 5 different places and this was the best one and Im so glad I went with them!! Would definitely recommend!

    My air conditioner stopped working and nobody was able to help until I found these guys. Honeywell tech support (thermostat) didn’t even flinch telling me it wasn’t their problem.I had a friendly conversation with a technician from 5 Star Repair, who suggested I test a few fixes before coming out. He called me back and we spoke a fee times to determine if they worked, which they ultimately did.He didn’t charge me for the time, or the education he gave me. I am mightily impressed with this sort of customer service and recommend these friendly technicians to anybody.

Before we contacted 5 Star, we were informed by a local AC repair company that our repairs would range from $1,900 to $3,500 (but they could not repair until 24 hours later). Not only did 5 Star fix our issue, but they did so at a quarter of the cost.Marlin was not only personable but also honest and extremely knowledgable. He was patient and explained what the issue was and how he could fix the AC without the need of expensive replacement parts.     Marlon was excellent ! Today, we were having problems with our downstairs AC unit.     We had an issue that put our AC unit out of commission on Saturday, even after a diagnostic check by a different company the day before had found nothing wrong. I called 5 Star when the house started to hit temperatures over 80 degrees and got on the phone with Jerry, who was extremely helpful. For several minutes he walked me through steps over the phone trying to diagnose the issue in case I could fix it myself to save me money. When we couldnt fix the issue over the phone, he offered to come to the house to look at the unit and said that he would not charge me any fees if he couldnt fix the issue, since I had paid another technician the day prior. I happily agreed, and less than 10 minutes later Jerry was at our home. About 15 minutes after that, the problem was fixed and our AC was running beautifully again. He even walked me through finding the faulty part and replacing it so that I could diagnose it myself in the future. I couldnt be happier with the service we received today.

    Marlon is fantastic. A lot of guys say their 24/7, but they arent. Really needed help in a pinch on a Saturday and called 7 others. No one else, or they had an answering service. Called 5 Star Repair Services to have someone come out that night since we have two small children whose bedrooms are on the 2nd floor. The technician arrived promptly about 30 minutes later. He took me through a step by step evaluation of the unit, air filters, etc. Appropriate steps were taken to defrost the unit, replace all air filters and add freon as needed. He had our unit back up and cooling within an hour, and we were all able to sleep comfortably through the night. I highly recommend this company if you need emergency AC repair.     I didnt actually have the pleasure of using their services but will definitely do so when I get a house. We are in an apartment complex and I was desperate the other night (actually 1 or 2 in the morning) to find someone to fix our A/C because our maintenance had tried but failed to do it. But Richard was kind enough to tell me to wait until the morning to see if our management office would fix it. And they did!!!! Richard also told me that in his 25 years in the business he hadnt seen one resident who ever was reimbursed more than $100 for hiring a third party company to fix the problem.     I have used them twice now. The first time was at 1:00am I called and by 2:00am they were able to be onsite and diagnose the problem. When I had a problem on my other unit, several people quoted arrival times of between 5pm and next year. However, when I call 5 star, he quoted being here in 45 minutes. After arrival, he looked at the system and found the issue in 2 minutes. He did not upsell, or charge me for anything I did not need, showed me how to fix the problem in the future and discounted the service visit for me. I would recommend them to anyone and will use them exclusively going forward.

The man I spoke with asked me about specific issues I was having, and from what I told him, he was able to determine that more than likely my issue was a bad capacitor. He recommended a few YouTube videos for me to watch so that I could do the repair myself and save myself some money. He said that if that didnt fix it, to call him back and he would try to help me figure out what else might be causing the issue. Turns out he was right, and it only cost me $20! Very helpful.

Marlin, the primary technician, is very professional and has years of experience. I really appreciated it when he took the time to explain (in laymans terms) the possible issues with my HVAC unit/compressor. Marlin walked me through his process of how to identify the cause of my problem and pointed out each component that could be at fault; e.g. lack of condensation on the Freon line indicates the unit needs more Freon. This helped me to feel that I wasnt being cheated and that the suggested repairs were justified.
