So over the last few months, I had been going back and forth on buying and selling some land we have in the Travis County area. My mother had passed away 14 years ago, leaving my father to become an elderly widow who now needs to live with his children for his safety, something we never dreamed would happen to our hero. For those of you with elderly parents who were your heroes when you were younger, you will completely understand and for those who still have their heroes young and strong, let me tell you, IT. IS. TOUGH. Well, back to the Ponce Real Estate Team. Erica Davila, who knew my mother, and knows my father (why Im putting in this very personal info) had recently become a real estate agent. Before we turned to her, we were speaking to a few agents for the buying part as my father refuses to use an agent to sell (extremely old school do it yourself kind of dude). The other agents were VERY pushy and one was even rude about how we, especially my father, was so wrong and was going to ruin our chances of getting a fair deal. One agent went as far as insulting my family, as he learned how we were all sharecroppers, using the fact my father had to quit school in 3rd grade to work the fields as an insult, speaking to the point of our uneducated minds couldnt understand just how much he could help us (I didnt tell him Im working on my PhD, this dude just went to ACC, and Im uneducated in his mind). Erica, on the other hand, was patient, very understanding about my dad. And when my uncle passed away, stopped all business dealings and just asked how the family was doing and was even consoling of my father. To say the least, this agent understands what it is to be a human being. If you need to sell or buy some land and you dont want be viewed as just a number, as just another way to make a quick buck, Call Erica Davila. No offense to the Ponce Real Estate Team but this review is about Erica, not the entire team. I have nothing bad to say about the team. But the level of professionalism and humanity, especially the humanity part, that was displayed with Ericas help, well that is, in my opinion, its whats missing in our divided world today. Shes not going to ask you who you voted for or look at you differently because you have a different opinion, or if you want a more hands on approach. Shes going to treat you as if youre an old family friend. With love and care. And do what is best for you, help you find what you want. Were still looking but I have faith with this agent. Something I was losing with the other agents before her.
