If you are buying land, especially in west Texas, where you need to dive deep into mineral rights and even wind rights, its best to take advice from an attorney. I wasnt aware that when you buy land, someone else might gave wind rights which means they can build a windmill whenever they want...on your land.I want to thank Sana at Kelly Legal Group in Austin. She helped look into existing lease, contract, title warranty, and guided me to a successful closure.Yes the advice costs money per hour, but is worth it for the peace of mind during and after the purchase.

Title company wouldn’t help: small town, everyone knows each other except us non-townies so they thought they could intimidate us. And his advice worked, perfectly. We got our $5000 back right away. I found myself in an unfortunate situation where the owner of the property I was planning to buy threatened to sue me and my agent. I reached out to several lawyers. Even though they offered free consultation, they refused to help unless I paid. Their free consultation claim was just a way to attract clients. I almost lost hope in finding legal help. I was very fortunate to find Jeffrey Kelly. Talking to Jeffrey was a pleasant and reassuring experience in difficult times we were having. He was humble, respectful, honest, and very knowledgeable. He indeed gave us a free consultation and helped me and my agent with all of our questions during that time. He genuinely wanted to help and he did. He also advised us to try to resolve the issue without lawyers, as things get very expensive with them. A few months ago I had the unfortunate experience of my closing date passing without a house sale due to the sellers refusing to leave. I had no idea this was possible but after searching on internet found it is, and often. I had moved to TX from out of state with arrangements made to close on the contracted date. The morning after closing date was not honored, I looked up real estate attorney and found Jeff Kelly. His offer of a free consultation led me to call for as much information and direction I could receive. I have complete respect for Jeff and his knowledge he so graciously shared. He patiently listened to my list of questions and answered each one thoroughly. He gave me the options of direction to pursue and cost of each. He waited while I gathered my contract to read him particular paragraphs. He knew exactly what information to give to ease my mind and assure me I had legal recourse should I choose to retain his services beyond the phone consultation. Thankfully I was able to close on the house under contract nine days after initial closing date. I asked Jeff what I could give to honor his time for his help. Back in July, I got served with papers claiming that I owed Harris County and the city of Houston a few thousand dollars in property taxes from a business I owned a few years ago. I called The Kelly Group and, after a few days, I got a call back from them. They were up front and honest with me. What was most surprising was that their advice to me was to not hire them unless I was for sure it was worth it to me because the costs of what I owed compared to what I would have had to pay them would not have made sense. Jeff Kelly is representing me in a real estate dispute. Jeff has a great mind for the law, and when I read the petition he wrote, I nearly fell over. It was the scariest, smartest, most well documented argument I’ve ever seen! OK I haven’t seen that many petitions but Jeff really nailed it - to the last detail. There are considerable complexities in the chronology of the case and Jeff led me through the chronology of events and then documented in amazing detail the facts of the case, citing case law at every juncture. Id had a previous attorney - he was very nice - but I think hed of made a better therapist than attorney. Jeff is sharp, focused, aggressive, detail oriented and has a creative and panoramic vision of how to use the law like a sword and shield to defend his client. The oddest part is, Jeff makes me laugh. The law is serious business, but Jeffs humanity and wit is an asset that serves him well. I know Ive been wronged. It stings badly and Im so angry at the treatment Ive received from the opposing parties. And at this point, Im actually less concerned about a settlement than seeing justice serving up a steaming bowl of shame on you But a swift kick to their wallet comes in a close second..Given of what Ive seen from Jeff thus far, a settlement wont be nearly as satisfying as watching him in court - dismantling the bad actors that put me in this position.

Jeff Kelly and his staff worked diligently to allevitate the enormous amount of stress my foreclosure was causing. My house in Hutto was set for foreclosure...a constable actually showed up there with the notice to vacate within 24 hours. I frantically began searching for an attorney to represent me and prayed to God that I chose the right one. Mr. Kelly was the best decision I could have made. They immediately filed a Temporary Restraining Order which the Judge approved...so my house was saved for the time being and since then, KLG has gone above and beyond what I could ever have imagined an attorney would do for me. We did a loan modification with the mortgage company, BOA, who hardly worked with us at all...but after KLG got involved, it was a complete 360 turnaround and they now treat us like human beings.
