Earlier this year, I ended up needing legal assistance in a very serious matter in the Waco area. As everyone knows, the legal process is complex and extremely intimidating, and it is difficult to know everything that has to be done and when, but if you dont get it all done right and on time, it can potentially wreck your life. On the basis of web searches, word of mouth, and the firms four generation history in Waco, I retained attorney Gerald Villarreal and legal assistant Rhonda Maher at Dunnam & Dunnam. Gerald and Rhonda were both stellar, and it was entirely due to their efforts that I navigated the process successfully, and emerged with a much better outcome than I could possibly have had otherwise. At every stage of this process, their extensive knowledge of law and procedure, their timeliness and attention to detail, and their connections and professional reputation were clear to see, and these made the difference in the outcome. I also had some handicaps and difficult circumstances that complicated my case, and they were able to work with the relevant authorities to accommodate these conditions. Retaining Dunnam & Dunnam generally, and Gerald and Rhonda specifically, was by far the best thing that I did in this situation. When I was in the market for an attorney, I was very intentional about making sure I found the right attorney who was an expert in the area where I needed legal counsel. I immediately got online to begin my search for legal representation by reading reviews and talking to attorneys I knew to see who they recommended. After I read multiple reviews online and spoke with several attorneys I knew, I narrowed my search down to Mason Dunnam with Dunnam and Dunnam, Attorneys at Law. Mason was personally vetted and came highly recommended from multiple sources. In my experience, Mason was very thorough throughout the process and always followed up with answers to my questions. He was very patient and explained legal jargon in a way that I was able to understand without making me feel inferior. He knew about the laws and policies that were pertinent to my case. Most people know attorney fees can easily rise and become expensive. In this situation, I did not believe I should be bargain shopping since I was dealing with legal matters and desperately trying to protect myself and my business. With Mason Dunnam, you get what you pay for. As expensive as it might seem, he is worth every penny. If needed again, I would use Mason without a doubt. His secretary was also very personable and professional. I stand behind Mason Dunnam and highly recommend him.

I needed assistance in a matter involving an Order of Protection, which was falsely filed against me in McLennan County. The hearing was set on very short notice and I needed an attorney who was willing to get me into the office and file an answer quickly. Brittany Martinez accepted my case, made an appointment for me for the next day and prepared for my case over the weekend. I was able to provide enough evidence for her to present to the DAs office to prove the accusations against me were false. The case was no suited and didnt require a hearing or even a second office visit. Since a hearing was not required, Brittany refunded a fair amount of the retainer I paid. I have been called as expert witnesses in the past to help some people and we are always proud to help. The thing that shocked me and I have to make sure I don’t say more than I should for privacy reasons. I heard Mr Jim Dunnam talking to (who I later come to find out is a partner in the firm) Mr. Thomas West, I witnessed them do something I never thought I would hear an attorney do and that was to tell his assistant (who I found out to be Nicole) to lower the firms fees because They needed it more than him. I asked him about this later when he thanked me for helping out and he told me this “the money I gave up isn’t going to change my day to day life but it is life changing for them”. If I ever need law services they will be my go to dudes! I could tell it really bothered him and what they were going thru. It bummed him out. What’s this.....? A couple of lawyers with a heart? Imagine that. I was impressed. You don’t have to use them but you better hope you are never against them! I’ve seen it! Dude they will sneak up on ya and then you have been “GOT”. Cristy Ryan apparently is no longer with the firm but my husband was still refunded the money. Two thumbs up for Dunham and Dunham- two thumbs down for Cristy Ryan. The most work she did was put in a motion to withdraw herself as counsel due to non communication. She is a joke.This is the worst law firm ever. I contacted Candice regarding a TEMPORARY custody order that concerned my husband and his child. Christie was to be the lawyer. I provided pdf documents of notarized letters, texts, receipts etc., to hold the other party (child mother) in contempt several times. I did the entire job for them, aside from representation in a court of law.I paid $3500 on 4/27/2016. Not one court date has been granted. Email and phone calls get no response.DO NOT USE THIS LAW FIRM. MY MONEY IS GONE AND THEY STOLE IT. THEY HAVE DONE NOTHING IN TWO-AND-A-HALF-YEARS FOR A SIMPLE TEMPORARY ORDER.Thanks, candace and crusty. You girls are awesome. Please refund the money that you stole.
