Kirk Mancil is the best realtor you can find! 2024 threw a lot of curve balls at us home buyers. It was so tough to find something we liked, but thanks to Kirk’s fantastic work, we successfully closed our house just before Thanksgiving. When we first started looking, we didn’t want to go with the first realtor Zillow or Realtor.com scheduled us with. We went to several open houses of homes surrounding the neighborhood we wanted to live in, considering similar prices and all. We met Kirk during one of these and decided to work with him because he was the most knowledgeable about the market, negotiation process, and had clear action items in his follow ups. We were already impressed. During our home viewing process, he was SO thorough and meticulous. He prepared printouts of all the homes we looked at, told us pros and cons of the home, the location, what to look out for, etc. When we found THE ONE, the negotiations were tough, but he was with us every step of the way. Kirk not only informed us about the actions needed, but provided helpful recommendations of HVAC companies, plumbing, roofing, etc. and got us the best quotes for repairs. We ended up getting a few grands in discount because of him. He even crawled into the attic space to look at the HVAC system with our technician to make sure he could explain to us what was wrong with it. Overall, we couldn’t be happier with Kirk’s performance, and have recommended him to several friends who are in the market. Get yourself a Kirk! I would give Erin 10 stars if I could! In a market where homes were taking 3-6 months to sell, she sold my home in two weeks and I had multiple offers. We were so lucky to have Elissa Sexton from Sky Realty as our realtor for our first home buying experience. Before we found her, there was some anxiety about beginning the home buying process as we’d heard horror stories of navigating the Austin housing market, especially for freelancers like ourselves. Elissa wasn’t phased in the least and found a great broker that had experience working with self employed types like us. With that fear allayed, we began our search for “our house.”We were interested in purchasing the rental we’d lived in for 5 years and Elissa helped us navigate the awkwardness of asking our landlord to sell. After some hopeful back and forth, all expertly led by Elissa, our landlord decided that he wanted to hold onto the property— totally made sense to us as it was a great place but we were a bit saddened that it didn’t work out. Elissa was empathetic but was sure we’d find something even better...(spoiler: she was right).We saw what felt like hundreds of homes (ok, maybe around a dozen or so....turns out we are picky— our words, not Elissa’s as she wasn’t phased one bit by our almost daily requests to look at places) and Elissa was a super helpful source of information as she would identify possible structural issues, location benefits/challenges, and point out features that our novice eyes would miss (I now love hearing “the pipes are PVC”). Then, we found it: “our house.”Elissa’s extensive marketing analysis and experience helped us hone in on our offer and days later we were in the under contract phase. Her Rolodex of contractors, plumbers, engineers, and inspectors was a godsend. Sometime this early summer, the plan was to sell a tiny home in Driftwood. The owner had been delayed in making the proper repairs, worst yet there had been a previous realtor that had turned the busines of selling his home more into a Halloween nightmare. Barbara Latimer picked up the referral and turned the Nightmare on Elm Street, (this is my opinion) into a picnic! I have already referred Barbara Latimer to some friends in Alabama selling their home in the Wimberley area and would look forward to referring more home buyers or sellers to her. Meredith Blackwelder was amazing to work with--both times! This is the second property we purchased with her help and guidance, and we couldnt have asked for a better experience. She is extremely knowledgeable, responsive and easy to work with. Merediths expertise goes beyond realty and the housing market, shes also well versed in construction, provides great advice, and can point out structural and cosmetic issues/things that many could miss. Plus she knows how to translate jargon and complicated language into plain English to make the process a lot less painful.
