As first time home buyers, my wife and I had a wonderful experience with Lindsey Pearlstein Smith. We reached out to Bramlett after feeling rushed by the first real estate agent we tried working with. We were drawn to Bramlett because of their no pressure slogan and the fact they dont require contracts. We reached out in August with the intention of buying a home in the Spring, which Lindsey was perfectly fine with. During our initial consultation, Lindsey was straightfoward about how things work and we always thought Lindsey had our best interests in mind. Lindsey has all of the right qualities: knows Austin very well, she went to college here; great communication skills (text, email, call, in-person) at all times of the week; punctual, if there was a scheduled meet-up or call she would always be on time; attention to detail; has a lot of good advice and references for seemingly everything (inspectors, lenders, insurance, etc).When my wife and I found a house that we loved, Lindsey was quick answer our questions, arrange a private house tour, and help us make an offer. After the offer was submitted, she successfully negotiated to stop the upcoming open house. When the contract option period was up, Lindsey sent us a sweet gift which we really appreached. While we dealt with lenders, Lindsey handled everything else, which included working with the seller to put on a new roof. You can stop looking for a realtor. Go with Lindsey Pearlstein.Going into the home-buying process, I anticipated lots of coordination, research, double-checking, and worrying. Im sure thats the way it is with some realtors, but we never felt the need to do any of that with Lindsey and it took a huge weight off us.Not only was Lindsey an excellent realtor and advocate for us, she was also very sensitive to our experience as first-time home buyers. We were able to put a lot of trust in her because she was always so on top of things, so transparent, and anticipated our questions and concerns.Lindsey was very analytical, detail-oriented, and forthright with us. One of my fears was that my realtor would be a people pleaser and just try to make me happy, rather than correcting me if Im mistaken about something. Lindsey does a great job, in particular, of giving lots of space for personal preference, but knowing when to step in and give advice when its needed. She pointed out that, even though we were in love with the house wed chosen, it had issues and was overpriced for the market. We were able to lower our offer, saving a lot of money without feeling like we were taking a risk. This also highlighted repair and maintenance needs for us to pay attention to moving forward.Lindsey and her practice, Bramlett Residential, gave a lot of green flags to us when we were deciding whether to go with them. They anticipated our greatest concerns and addressed them pre-emptively. Its difficult to figure out if a professional or business has ethical practices simply because they know their business so much better than you. Bramlett and Lindsey showed they were transparent, ethical, and provided quality service by:1) Highlighting shady industry practices and showing how they were different. Lindsey didnt push us towards expensive listings and she prioritized taking the proper time to make informed decisions. Everything moved at our pace.2) Bramlett didn’t require us to sign an exclusivity contract, showing theyre confident the quality of their service will keep their clients loyal.3) Bramlett and Lindsey are service-oriented, not sales-oriented, with extra assistance beyond closing.Buying a home is a complicated process with residual activities occurring beyond closing, so you really need professionals that will continue to support you. I feel confident I could reach out at any time if I have questions about my home, and I know Lindsey will proactively help me with some of the ongoing challenges of home ownership, like making sure we are properly compensated for taxes once the rates are published in November and protesting tax appraisals on an annual basis. I dont feel like Ive paid for a one-off transaction, I feel I have become an ongoing client.Being a first-generation, first-time homeowner is a vulnerable, nerve-wracking position to be in, and it has been a great comfort to feel we can trust our realtor implicitly. Deciding to buy a home has been an enormous financial leap of faith for us, but our choice of realtor made the process feel easy.
