She proved that time and again with her thorough knowledge of home construction and the local market. Rachel and her partner, Marly, are very responsive, professional and creative in helping someone in a non-conventional home buying situation work out a way to get a new home. I was waiting on funding from a divorce settlement and had found my new home, but, the funding wasnt going to be available for a few more weeks. So, they were able to help me put in an offer and move forward on securing the home I really wanted! I looked at many homes in the area and I appreciated the time and effort to entertain my whims of checking out all the available properties in my price range. Selling our home with Rachael and her team was great. Rachel knew just what to list our home based on all the research she did before she arrived. We gave her a tour of the house and then sat down to go over all the information. She then gave us great advice on what we should do to prepare for the open house. Her advice paid off. She sent in a photographer to take pictures of the whole house (inside and out). They made an awesome pamphlet full of pictures of the house and the yard for the folks coming through to be able to take with them. Our house went on the market on Friday. They held an open house that weekend and by Sunday we had seven offers on our home. Several of those were over the asking price. She kept us informed every step of the way, offered us advice when we asked and let us know what was needed to done and what to expect next. She and her team were available at all hours to answer our questions. We ran into several obstacles with the buyer’s agent, but Racheal and team work diligently to get us to the goal line. We struggle writing this review because it feels like we are breaking up with a significant other. In all seriousness, I hope you all take the time to read this, as we hope it persuades you to choose this company, and more importantly Rachel. Here is a little background: We are one of “those Californians” leaving the state to go to Texas. We have a 4 month old son. Moving out of state alone is a lot, but with a newborn made it a lot more difficult. We didn’t have the funds or the ability to go back and forth with a newborn and two dogs to look at the area or the houses. Part of the experience of buying a home in Texas was taking a leap of faith, but the bigger part of it was having a realtor that we could trust. When we started the process, we didn’t know a whole lot about selling our house and buying a house in a different state. So what did we do to find a realtor? We Googled realtors in the area where we were looking to buy. Blushwood Realty Group was one of the first companies that popped up. I shot out an email, and received a response right away to set up a meeting. My husband and I had a zoom meeting with Rachel Moussa. She asked us questions about what we were looking for in a house, but more importantly she asked about us and our family. We liked her from the start, but didn’t realize at that point how lucky we were to have met her.Right out of the gate, Rachel started looking for a home for us. She went to several houses, and because we weren’t in the state, she did it virtually via Zoom. Now these weren’t quick walkthroughs, she really took the time to thoroughly look at the house and zoom in on the areas we were interested in looking at. She was completely honest about if she smelled anything, if the flooring felt crooked, etc. We knew after the first virtual showing that she wasn’t just trying to sell us a house or make money off of us, she was determined to find our family a home. We went through many challenges through out the process, and Rachel helped us through all of it. For example, we thought we found the house for us, but after Rachel went for the inspections, it was determined the house needed a lot of work. Due to her expertise, she knew it would cost way more to fix the house than it was worth. Rachel just knew that she could find us something better.No matter the time of day, she always answered our questions, and trust me, we asked a lot of questions. Rachel even coordinated finding us a realtor in California to assist in selling our house. We got to a point where we started to feel like we weren’t going to find “our perfect home”. The homes we loved either cost too much, or we were outbid. Rachel was determined and never gave up. Then the perfect home appeared, Rachel went to see the home in less than 24 hours. Rachel shared in our excitement for this house, as if she was one of our closest friends or family members. We viewed the house, and knew we wanted it. Rachel helped us make a competitive offer (within our means), and went as far as to talk to the realtor about the challenges we faced along the way to help convince them that this was “the house” for our growing family. Within 24 hours, our offer was accepted, the open house was cancelled, and this was our house! Fast forward to today, we closed on our new home, and Rachel still continues to help us coordinate repair work being done prior to our arrival. We feel so blessed that Rachel has been with us through this important journey in our lives, and although it is coming to a close, I still feel like we have made a friend. We recently moved to Texas from Oregon. We started this journey as a Covid trip, escaping the crazy that has become Portland, and the gray that the northwest has for so many months. We stayed for a couple months in Airbnbs and fell in love with the people and area. During that time, we met Rachel when we decided to start going through some open houses. We still werent set on moving, but our interest was piqued. She knew that but continued to invest in us and provide showings to help us see what it was like. Over the course of our stay, we made the decision that we were serious and returned to Portland to sell our home. All this background, just to give you a picture of what Rachel and her team was able to do and why we stuck with her for all the months of looking.She was patient while we figured out what we were actually looking for. After having several offers fall through from cray bidding wars, she started finding off-market properties for us to look at. Her team provided Facetime walkthroughs and she did personal screenings of some of the homes to avoid us making unnecessary flights back and forth.This all resulted in us finally finding the home we were looking for. She worked with the realtor/owner and helped us make connections with him. She was persistent, but in a good way that resulted in a great connection with the seller. Incidentally, he was also a great guy which made all stages of the purchase go extremely smoothly.When you are coming from out of state, it is hard. The market is crazy, with offers being rejected that far exceed the listing price. This means there is almost no time to make a decision, little opportunity to really look at the house and little time to learn the neighborhood. Having someone that knows the area, knows what is reasonable, knows what you are looking for and does far more than just send you random listings is invaluable. Rachel and her team, which includes even more Rachels are great!
