    I just had my first meeting with a NACA representative (April Mayfield), and I’m truly impressed! She took the time to explain the NACA process, financial requirements, and benefits of the program in detail, sharing her scree as we walked though my member profile. April was knowledgeable, patient, and supportive, answering all my questions and making me feel confident about the next steps. She was transparent about the dedication needed to use the program but the no down payment, no closing costs, and below-market interest rates make this an incredible opportunity. Looking forward to continuing my journey with NACA and with April, specifically! Grateful that this program focused on economic justice exists, and highly recommend for anyone serious about affordable homeownership.

    I am starting the process over again. Attending the workshop on Feb. 15, 2025, met with my counselor, Ms. Davis on Feb. 17, 2025. She was very patient, explained the process in detail. Answered all my questions. I am 51 and this will be my first home purchase, and I left our meeting feeling very confident that I can do this. Thanks Ms. Davis and I am grateful that the NACA Program exist.

    NACA Homeownership program has been off to a great start so far. I took the initial 4 hour course, paid my dues and created my Member Portal Log In. After those couple of steps its been steadily moving along nicely.My NACA Counselor, Michelle V., has been super on top of everything from Employer Verification to Renter Verification, call and emailing me along the way. I could not have asked for a better Counselor. We are about to hit the next steps of getting my application submitted and I cant believe its been just about 30 days.Lets see how long it takes me to find a new home, but until then, I am super excited about spreading the word and helping others start the journey of owning a home.If you can pay someone elses mortgage and pay your rent on time, you are half way there to becoming a home owner. The workshop was seemless, but I decided to come to the Houston event to speed up the process. So glad that I did, so I can get my approval and start shopping for a house.     My family refer me to NACA when we started to look for our him since 2020. We went to a workshop that year but ended up that they didn’t work with ITIN numbers no more. So we came back in 2024 now that I’m a resident. Autrilia is our home councilor and she has been very helpful with our Journey. If you need more advice our have questions she is the one to ask. She responds to you quick and also helps you with your documentation.

After picking back up recently, my counselor has been very helpful and transparent regarding the journey. I was able to call and get an appointment within two days to advise what documents are needed for my action plan.     My experience with NACA is great so far! I joined in May 2023 and I am very close to being approved. Antonio ,my counselor has advised us every step of the way. If you follow what they say, the process will go smoothly. Another great thing is if you complete everything up front, you get to spend that much more time on looking for that perfect property. Once you find your home, all of the paperwork has already been completed and the only thing left to do is submit everything to the mortgage company to start the purchasing process.     I recommend NACA Houston to anyone looking to buy a home. This program is not easy but it is definitely worth the hard work to become a homeowner. The program teaches you life changing tools like money management and financial discipline. NACA and their staff are absolutely amazing. Depending on the Houston housing market Im on track to be a homeowner by June at the latest.     We were skeptic about home owning because it’s difficult in this economy. Until we heard about NACA, through a relative. We have been in the process for about a month now and recently had our in person, counseling appointment. My counselor, Mrs. Williams, made us feel welcomed and hopeful about purchasing a home. Although, it it extensive paperwork and information to upload we are sure it will be worth it in the end! And hey, we don’t lose anything by trying. So if you’re already paying 1K+ for rent, might as well apply for your own home. No down payment necessary! (Still need funds for closing costs and home inspection) .)     Ive been working with my NACA counselor Carl since March 2024 he has been very helpful and informative. This has given me extreme hope to be able to be in a home soon. The program offers people a great chance to be able to purchase a home without breaking the bank with the high cost of down payments and closing costs when you go through conventional loans it also gives people like me who are working on improving their credit scores a chance at home ownership!     Starting our NACA journey, so far so good, we did the 4 hour class first on Saturday which tells how the process works and what to expect, a lot of useful information. After that you get a membership number for the portal where you upload all your informatio that can be a little overwhelming but thankfully you get a counselor to help you get your numbers right, we got Nigel Yarbrough, and hes so helpful and patient and very knowledgeable, with all of this help, Im sure we will be home owners very soon. We are so excited!

    I signed up for NACA in the early 2000’s but never followed through. I heard them on the radio last year and decided to go back through the program. My husband and I completed the orientation in September 2022 and have been working with our mortgage counselor every since. We had a minor setback because of my recent medical issues this year and my income change due to me being out on Short Term Disability. Our mortgage counselor is great, she answers our questions and makes sure we understand what is required on our end to get us to the next step. Although NACA requires a lot of documentation, don’t let that frustrate you because they are only asking for documents the bank/lenders need to get you approved for a mortgage loan. Remember they are no different than any other home buyer program requiring documents. EXCEPT NACA IS BETTER. They offer no money down, closing cost, less than perfect credit score, below market interest rates and they also assist homeowners facing foreclosures. So just follow the program requirements, continue to meet with your mortgage counselor and Trust the process.

I highly recommend making sure that all of your necessary documents are submitted prior to your meeting with your counselor as this will help speed up the process! We were happy to hear from our counselor that our finances looked good and we are hoping to be in a home within 4-6 months! While this was our first counseling meeting, we are excited for our next steps in becoming home owners!

    When I first started it seemed to good to be true but my journey has been a great learning one. Put it this way if you are not willing to put in the hard work and effort you will not see results.Please understand that all the counselors have many clients a day and they have to work on multiple files a day. Anyone can do this you just have to be willing to help your counselor as much they are doing their best to help you accomplish your goal. I would love to send a shot out to my counselor Lori Jenkins and my realtor for all their hard work and everything they have done for me and to the entire staff. You have all been so kind and very supportive since I started this program I couldnt have it any any better than this. I have seen and experienced a lot of knowledge through out my journey but all worth it at the end.Thank you NACA for having a program that can allow someone to buy their first home and help educate someone while experiencing the program. One thing I highly recommend is to buy yourself a flash drive and keep up with your paper work and be prepared to send documents to your counselor as quick as possible. This will help a great deal and will make things easier to track and in case you need to resend. Remember patience and consistency is the key if you want to get to the finish line during your NACA experience.

    I first heard about NACA from a friend who sent me a Youtube video. When I first saw the video I thought that it was like the other first time home buyer programs but, I began to do more research and finally I saw that they offered a free workshop and I scheduled to attend the next one. While attending the workshop, I had to opportunity to speak with someone directly and they answered all of my questions and provided me with resources and my NACA ID to signup online. From there, I have had the pleasure of being assigned my personal counselor Mr. Bryan Hall, who has been working diligently and efficiently to help me with purchasing a new home and educating me about other grants that can be applied. With any goal that is achieved it will require patience and dedication. So, be prepared to gather the necessary documents to purchase a home, (bank statements, check stubs, W2s etc.) and save them on a flash drive in case you need them again. Overall, I will say that this experience has been very educational and I would recommend NACA to anyone who is planning to purchasing a home.

    I have been going through the NACA process for about 7 months now. It is definitely a process and something that is not an overnight approval.     I have been working with the NACA program on and off for several years. While going through the NACA program you must be dedicated to keeping all documentation and accounts information current. When you think about the benefits of being approved with NACA, the small task of keeping all documents up to date is minuet.     Overall, I would have to say my experience with NACA has been a good one. I am currently in the process of being NACA qualified and I hope to be a first time homeowner soon. If you are organized, optimistic, prepared and patient then NACA is for you. NACA is definitely a “patient process” but the benefits are worth it in my opinion. Such as no closing costs, no down payment, no PMI, no credit score considered, low interest rates, and buy down options.
