Wow, what an incredible experience! Not one, but BOTH of my units went out. [insert panic attack] I wasnt able to reach out to them until the evening, but they were still able to get a technician to come out the next morning. He was right on time, super friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable. He was able to quickly diagnose the problem(s) and basically had to perform an exorcism on those things -- who knew that was even a service they offered? I guess that makes Dagan the patron saint of HVAC... But seriously, so many problems, and so many parts, but he was so kind and patient and worked super efficiently. And miraculously, he got both up and running in record time! He was even able to find a way to get a good chunk of it covered by warranty, which saved me a lot of money. I cannot recommend these folks enough. If youre looking for honest, fast, friendly, knowledgeable service, and all at a great price, this is definitely the company to work with.

The last time we had a short cold front in Austin my electric bill went up 282%. There is another one on the way and it is a long one. I called the city to find out what is the most efficient way to heat my house gas or electricity I have both? They did not know the answer but cautioned me not to put the thermostat higher than 67. When my electric bill arrives I should call back and they would go over the charges with me. I called the gas company they did not know but I was reminded that this is the time of the year when rates are higher because people use gas more because it is cold. What is the most affordable way to heat your house during a cold front in Austin - electricity, or gas? I called HVAC contractors to ask that question. The first two went to voicemail, I did not leave a message. I just wanted that one question answered. On my 3rd call the operator hung up on me. Then I called The Coolest and my question was immediately answered - gas. He explained how both forms of energy impact the environment and how pricing works. Also, times have evolved and there is now dual fuel HVAC which uses both gas and electricity. He was the coolest guy for taking the time to explain it all to me. Double Bonus: small and locally owned business!

My AC stopped working a few weeks ago and another company came to take a look and quoted me 5K+ to replace the outdoor unit. I decided to get a 2nd opinion with the Coolest and Im so glad I did! Dagon is super patient and friendly, explained the potential causes, and talked to my home warranty provider on the phone. Eventually he replaced the contactor and confirmed my compressor is running fine which costed less than 1/10 of the amount the other company quoted me for. Its so rare to see an HVAC service provider with this kind of integrity and efficiency! I will definitely recommend them to my friends and family.

I had an incredible experience with Coolest from the start. Bianca was lovely to speak with, she scheduled a technician to come out with super short notice to our business to diagnosis what was happening and rearranged schedules for him to come out again same day to start fixing the issue.Reece was our technician. He was on time, professional, kind and extremely knowledgeable. After diagnosing the problem, he educated me on what was wrong, and gave me 3 different options with pricing on how we could fix it. The pricing was extremely reasonable.Reece came back the same day to start fixing the issue, we hit a snag due to my ceiling. Since it was a job I needed done for the next day, he came in ON HIS DAY off at 7:30am ON A WEEKEND to make sure I was taken care of.Ive had a lot of experience with vendors, and this was by far the best experience Ive had. Coolest earned a lifetime customer with this experience. Ive already referred them to my landlord who plans on using them too. They proposed us all the different options from re-fill it to change the units. Since it was 14yrs old units we decided to get new ones. 2 Technicians came (I forgot their name): Very professional, very polite, very clean, very efficient... I guess you got it. they spent almost 8hrs into the hell hot attic, they clean every thing before leave, spent time with me at the end to review all the updates... What can I say more :-).

They left the place cleaner than when they arrived.Original (11/22): The Coolest was my first and only call for an emergency AC issue. They did not flush the drain line since they assumed without asking me that it went to the roof (it goes to the sink), and also did not appear to have cleaned the drain pan at all (Honest ACs tech found a large amount of organic debris in it). This resulted in my tenant unnecessarily living without AC for two days in the hot Texas heat.However, when I called the company office after having Honest come out, they directed me to email the company owners. They were extremely polite and understanding, let me know that they stand by their work, and refunded the total amount for the service calls. They have also updated their processes to better handle situations like this. In their words:We’ve had our technicians change their approach to servicing drain lines so that we can offer better satisfaction... Sometimes one trip isn’t enough, and we need to come out more than once to get a drain clear. It’s not pretty but we gotta do it... It’s not company policy for us to charge for two separate drain services within the span of 30 days, so if this did happen, then I apologize for that and we will refund you immediately.So Ill let my original review / recommendation stand. Miscommunications happen everywhere, and these folks appear to have handled it very well in the end.

The Coolest JUST finished up a new HVAC install for us and I just want to say, they are AWESOME. First of all, theyre a local company with amazing technicians - support your local businesses! Willie and his entire crew of three awesome dudes made sure everything was done quickly and efficiently. There was an issue with the unit that they resolved so effectively. One thing that I have to call out - we had initially added an attic insulation install as part of our package. Once they got up there, they realized that there was already plenty of insulation and informed us of the situation, and that we really didnt need any additional insulation up there. I was SO incredibly impressed by their honesty and ethics - and that ended up saving us $$$ as well! Seriously - more business can learn from this. they could have proceeded as normal and we wouldnt have known any better - but they are so transparent with everything. Weve had our old unit serviced by The Coolest in the past (shoutout to Dagan) so we really wanted to keep using them for the replacement and are so happy we did. From our initial consult with Trenton to the work they did - everything was so smooth. Also - the price was SO much lower than the big companies and they never pressured us with upselling. The Coolest! customer service was great and they were able to schedule a non-emergency maintenance appointment within 48 hours even during the busy season when it was 100+ degrees every day. Kaleb arrived promptly on time and was super friendly and helpful. I live at a two-story condo complex and most AC guys I’ve hired in the past complain or refuse to get on the roof to inspect the unit (or charge an extra access fee). Not Kaleb! He was able to get up there and inspect the unit very quickly. During the tune up he found the original capacitor was super old and not functioning properly, so he replaced that for pretty cheap. You can tell he’s very knowledgeable about his craft and enjoys what he does. He also had a lot of helpful tips on how to maintain my unit. My furnace was nearly 30 years old and finally needed to be repaired. I called a large Austin company, one whod you would recognize from radio commercials, come to try and repair. Their technician seemed like he was there to sell me a new HVAC system instead of address the problem. After 10 minutes or so he stated that it was so old they wouldnt be able to find parts (I found the parts that he said needed to be replaced BTW at a Carrier parts site). They said they could replace it for over $7K. That sounded like a very high quote and I didnt like the tactics of trying to get me to replace instead of repair.I next called The Coolest. Reese came out and priced out the parts that would be necessary and said that they could fix it, and quoted me $3900 out the door for a new one, as the parts and labor to repair would be over 3K anyway. This was an easy choice to make. He was knowledgable, honest and seemed like he was just giving me the information I needed to make an informed decision rather than just try and sell me a new system.The installers came today and were on time, courteous, friendly and professional.I would highly recommend this company to anyone and will be doing so moving forward.

After recharging my system, and determining there was a leak somewhere that was going to be costly, I let him know I had a home warranty plan that was set to expire. Trenton called me first thing on Monday and sent out their team (Rigo and Marco) who worked all day into the night to replace my HVAC system (up in the sweltering hot attic!) and clean up after they were all done. They worked tirelessly in this crazy heat and got it done! They were outstanding! A couple of years ago, we set out to renovate a 1930s house that had never had air conditioning. Working within the existing structure was challenging and we quickly came to the conclusion that a mini-split system would be our best option for the retrofit installation.I met with a few companies but was impressed by Mark’s knowledge about the various mini-split options and his willingness to suggest options to keep the project cost down. Due in part to some good ideas he had to streamline the install, his bid was the best value and we went ahead and signed.The job was not an easy one, as we had to figure out a way to make each refrigerant and drain line work within the existing framing. They figured it out nonetheless and the system has been functioning well since it was installed.We ran into some unrelated complications during construction that caused an almost yearlong delay between The Coolest having completed the rough-in installation and us getting power to the house so they could hook everything up and complete the install. Mark was exceedingly patient during this time, both in terms of waiting on the final installment and storing the equipment for us until we were ready to proceed.Their crew has always been very pleasant to deal with as well. I’d highly recommend The Coolest for HVAC work.

We could not be more pleased with The Coolest. Our AC went out during the night on a Saturday in late June. Needless to say, we needed someone to help us ASAP as it was quite hot and humid in the house. We called one AC company we received as a reference but they did not service our area and so they referred us to The Coolest. Mark (the owner) returned my phone call within 30 minutes and had his technician, James, at our house who got us up and running in no time. James was excellent and explained everything to us in great detail. He was professional but very friendly and down to earth. We had to get a coil replaced which they had to order a part for so they got us comfortable until they could replace the coil. Our drain ended up clogging a couple of days later and they sent out another technician, Curtis, who came within 20 minutes to flush it out and get us running again. He was also super professional and pleasant. I cant recommend The Coolest team enough, they are all so easy to deal with and honest. We have had bad experiences with other AC service companies in the past so it was such a blessing to find someone that we could trust and is reliable.

We recently had the Coolest LLC install a new A/C unit in our home. We are very happy with our choice. They were the only company not to charge us for a quote! I was shocked that every other company wanted $$ just to tell us how much more money they would charge us. Mark, not only gave us the most reasonable quote for a new A/C, but was also the only one to give us the option to repair our old one! All of this made it clear to me that their focus is on the customer. Once we accepted the bid, they were ready to install within only a couple of days. During installation, they went above and beyond when we asked if it was possible to replace the worn-out wooden platform in our attic upon which the unit rests. This is not something they normally do! But, they did! We were so grateful. These guys are amazing. When there was an issue with one of the parts, Kaleb, Rigo, Cole & Marco worked tirelessly in a hot attic to diagnose and repair it. They kept in constant contact via text regarding arrival times. I couldnt ask for better service. They were polite, knowledgable, and friendly, even to our dog! I can recommend The Coolest LLC without hesitation and plan to call on them for any future HVAC needs.(*BTW, they are a small company (~6 people) and dont contract out, which I love! My compressor went out on the first hundred degree day of the year. Of course it was a Saturday. I called Mark who dispatched a technician, James, who was at my house 45 minutes later. I had a very old system so the parts were not available until Monday. James went above and beyond to make us as comfortable as possible in the heat with a broken system. The Coolest took all of the measurements for a new system as well as the parts needed to repair the existing system. After weighing my options we decided to replace the entire system and The Coolest had a team at the house on Tuesday replacing the whole system. They had the job done and cleaned up in a day. We did shop around and The Coolest was by far the fastest (10 days faster in one case) and the best value. They were professional fast and affordable. They were also there when I needed them. I called The Coolest last Friday (one week ago) with an issue of my AC unit tripping my breaker. They came out same day, very prompt and professional and incredibly knowledgeable. The ultimate result is that my unit needed to be replaced (due to a refrigerant leak in multiple places, using a really expensive refrigerant that isn’t used anymore and my unit being 20 years old). Mark H. was so thorough in explaining the why and how and his recommendations. He was absolutely wonderful. Then working with Mark (the owner) to go over pricing and schedule was incredibly easy, again very friendly and knowledgeable. They were able to replace the next week, which blew my mind at how quick they were able to get back to me. Reese and Curtis (there was a 3rd and I missed his name!) were here promptly at 9am on the scheduled day. Very easy to work with in figuring out best solution for roof access. Everyone I talked to during this process was friendly and easy to get along with, from the initial contact to the end of the installation. I called The Coolest on a Tuesday and the unit installation was completed that Thursday afternoon. Curtis, Rico, and Cole showed up on time (a little early actually, a good thing), were courteous and friendly throughout, and were locked in on the job. The air exchange/furnace installation (Ricos domain and he was locked in the zone doing all the wiring and connections) looked so much more professionally done than the unit that was removed. Curtis was the roof man, and I havent seen the compressor installation, but just from talking with him it was pretty evident he knew his stuff. And Cole seemed to be going back and forth between those guys. All very efficient. Ive already recommended The Coolest to my neighbor and would recommend them to anyone with HVAC problems.Addendum: A week later, upon returning after being away a few days after the installation, several neighbors told me my AC was making a horrendous noise. We should have written a review when The Coolest first installed our system because James and the rest of The Coolest team did an excellent job reviewing our situation and developing a plan to address the unique airflow and cooling problems we were facing. Fast forward to Easter Sunday 2020, when our AC stopped blowing air. In the middle of COVID-19 and on a holiday, James and The Coolest team responded and were at our house within an hour. They had taken precautions to have masks and gloves on despite having to spend time in a hot attic. James addressed the issue quickly without even charging us! They are simply incredible and I highly recommend them.

I live in a condo with a specifically difficult to replace AC system. After talking with several other vendors, whose price ranges went from 11k-15k, it turned out that none of them could actually get me what I needed. The Coolest could get me the exact part I needed because theyre not beholden to one manufacturer for parts, they can order whatever they want as needed (bigger AC companies have a deal with a specific manufacturer and can only order from a specific list, which is fine most of the time for most people).Not only was the Coolest able to get me exactly what I needed, but the cost they told me made me go, thats fair, instead of, oh my god... well, I guess so, if theres no other choice. They replaced my old AC, didnt try to upsell me on anything, and were down to earth and did a great job explaining everything.Smaller businesses have less overhead, so the consumer pays less. Great service, great people, its a relief to find companies like that these days.

Simply put, this company is terrific. My wife and I got home Sunday night to find that our A/C wasnt pushing cold air through the house. Just joined the Coolest Club and so far so good. Kaleb just came for the spring inspection, and they will come again this fall to make sure the furnace is ready to go. To me its just good insurance that everything is working and if you have a problem someone will make you a priority. Its a bonus that they were all nice to deal with!

They are awesome!We received four quotes for HVAC installation, and three specifically for minisplit installation. The Coolest was the last team we asked to come by for a quote. We were already leaning towards one of the previous three companies, but by the time we finished our hour-long walk-through and conversation with The Coolest we were pretty confident that they were the team we were going to go with just because of the ease of communication during the walk-through. Once the quote came in there was no question - not only were they going to install a top-of-the-line mini-split system, but they came in far below our budget.We had a number of other projects going at the same time, and so had to hold off on installation for a few months. The Coolest worked with our schedule seamlessly, and when the day came they knocked out the full (4 room) install in two days.We will be going back to The Coolest for all of our maintenance and heating/cooling questions and needs for as long as we are in Austin - maybe even if we arent well just call them to make sure were making a good decision.

Travis and Kaleb have been great. When A/c goes down in Austin, it can be daunting. These guys answer the phone, come out on time, fix the problem and guarantee the work. We have had a few issues because we updated our thermostat with our security system and they have been quick to assist. I highly recommend them! It so rare to have such a pleasant experience with in home service since Covid. These guys are awesome

These guys installed my new AC system last year and I was 5 stars of happiness. Today, James came by to give me a winter tune up and he, once again, provided me with 5 stars of happiness. Not only did he do the tune up, he also set up the schedule on my thermostat, filled a hole in my outside wall with foam to keep the bugs out, AND he showed me how to clean my outside unit. If you need AC help, The Coolest crew are the ones. Ive only had good experiences with The Coolest.

The first time we called The Coolest was on a Friday evening in August around 5 pm. They showed up in an hour and quickly fixed our A/C in our back house. The main house HVAC went out in October and we called them again right away. They replaced our unit the very next day. I cant say enough good things about this company, excellent work, reasonable prices for quality products, trustworthy and so reliable. Mark followed up with us afterwards to make sure we were happy too. Love these guys. Highly recommend!

I contacted 9 HVAC companies in Austin for a complete replacement of my residential system. I received bids from 7.5k to 15k for the same type of system. How can the same system cost twice as much. The answer is overhead. Incredible. The Coolest LLC not only beat the best prices out there, they provided a no-nonsense interaction in which they did not try to price haggle or up-sell me on anything. I knew what I needed and they provided the most competitive price for a brand name (Bryant) system. They have a 10 year warranty on the system parts and a 2 year warranty to back up their work. When you call their phone number listed you get Mark #1, a real person in Austin who directed me to Mark #2 which is the owner and person who gave me the no-nonsense bid. There was no directory chain....call the number and get reception who forwards you to sales. Sales associate then wants to set up a time for a technician to visit the house. Then the tech doesnt know how much a system costs so they want to set up another time for a call to get the bid....blah blah blah. That is where the extra cost comes from....overhead to pay extra employees to give you the run around.The installation was a breeze. The tech arrived 15 minutes earlier than the time allotted and was professional throughout. He was very clean and left my house in the same condition as he found it. After the installation I noticed that one of the thermostats was not kicking on the condenser so I reached out to Mark #1 and within hours had another tech to my place. Turned out to be a wire that did not have great connection. Great customer service.They also participate in the Austin Energy rebate program and handled all of the necessary registration forms. They do the work, you get the rebate check in the mail.The Coolest LLC is a local (true local) small business that is truly exceptional. I have and will continue to refer friends and family their way for any HVAC needs.The are....The Coolest.

I highly recommend The Coolest. I called them after 10pm one night because my heating unit had frozen over. They answered the phone and gave me the option to have a technician come to my house that night (for a higher fee) or early the next morning. Based on our conversation about the issue with my heating unit, they recommended I wait until the next day to save a few $s.The next morning, Robert arrived and promptly diagnosed the issue, discovered my unit was still under warranty, procured the part that needed to be replaced (using the warranty, i.e. at no cost to me), and fixed my unit.Will definitely keep their info handy, as they made this a very painless situation.Follow-up: The Coolest is still great! If you sign up for their subscription service, they proactively reach out to schedule your free check-ins and follow-up appointments. Their technicians are always knowledgeable and hard-working.

After several options, we contacted The Coolest because of neighbor recommendations and some online reviews. Mark (the owner) came to our house to inspect the issue and offered several options for replacement. We liked his professionalism and directness...and hes a cool dude. When we decided to go with a slighter higher efficient system than our current 15 year old AC unit, Mark quickly scheduled an install to fit our schedule. His communication throughout the process was consistently prompt and clear. When James and Avery arrived for the install, they were extremely courteous and professional...and they were also cool dudes. Within that day, they completed the installation and explained some of the new bells and whistles (thermostat, air filter system, maintenance on the outside unit, etc.) So far (after a week), the system seems to work well, and I would recommend The Coolest for anyones HVAC issues.
