    Todd is awesome. We have used him for several years. Once, he came ASAP and diagnosed and fixed a small problem and didnt even charge us.     I randomly looked up Texas Discount Air and filled up a form online for a quick diagnosis ( they had unbeatable rates for a service call $29 ).I received a SMS to confirm and schedule.     8.13.2024-My a/c went out Monday night. Searched for companies Tuesday morning and found this company because of their $39 offer, if I chose not to have services performed after the diagnostic. I called first, they were busy and the voicemail said I could text. I requested an appointment via text. Tech, Todd, was at my house before 3:30pm and had a diagnosis in less than 10 minutes (closer to five). It turned out it was the capacitor, $250 w/labor. Service completed in just a few minutes. I wasn’t there in person (he gave me the diagnoses over the phone) , but my adult son said that Todd was very nice & professional. I will use this company again if needed.

    Excellent service. My AC started acting up late in the day by not cooling and after a little research I found this company. Honestly, it’s hard not to give them a try with all the positive reviews, so I figured why not. I filled out the online form in the evening on a Sunday and was contacted first thing in the morning on Monday to schedule a time slot same day. Todd showed up when scheduled, pretty much right on time. He diagnosed the issue within two minutes, told me exactly how much I would pay, and fixed the issue in about 15 minutes. Even stayed an extra 5-10 minutes just to make sure the AC stayed running, which it did. Very appreciative of the quick, professional service and the insights Todd provided while he was working. It’s always good to hear/see someone take their job seriously and get it done quickly and correctly. I will be using them again in the future.

    Our AC was blowing hot air and it was 100°+ F outside. I needed someone to come by asap. I had sprayed the unit with water and felt some improvement but I still needed expert advice. I called two other companies, they didn’t answer (given it was a Sunday afternoon, my hope was little). After reading positive reviews on Texas Discount Air, I decided to give them a call.And I’m so lucky to have reached out to this company. Todd responded within the hour. He explained to us that we did the right thing by spraying the unit down with water as it was very dirty. He said our unit was still in good condition.I’m so grateful to Todd, he is honest. He didn’t charge us $29.00 service fee. I offered him a tip and he declined.Now I know this company is reliable and trustworthy. I sure will be using them again.     Todd, the owner, came over right away and even had to come back the next day after I installed smart thermostats. Hes a small business with a small group of professionals working for him. He quoted me $100 for what I asked to do, but even after both visits he wouldnt accept any money from me although I even insisted and also tried throwing money at him. Im not sure how he makes money but this clearly is a trustworthy owner who is willing to help anyone in need. Ill use him in the future for years to come for sure. Im the kind of customer that feels obligated to pay for work and services performed and Im a little shocked but definitely feel blessed as we just moved into a house that hasnt been taken care of.     Probably the most honest AC repairman you will find.I had received other quotes saying Id need a new blower motor and to replace all of my ducting in the attic. Todd came over and quickly determined why my AC wasnt working (faulty thermostat), then inspected all my ducting free of charge. Most impressively, he gave an honest opinion that I could simply rewrap the loose portions of my ducting rather than replacing the ducting entirely, saving me thousands.He did not try to sell me anything or push unnecessary replacements even when I asked if I should replace the ducting and outdoor unit. I will absolutely be using Todds services for future HVAC services.

    Todd runs a first class operation. He has helped us with 3 issues we had with our 2 AC systems. He provides honest evaluations, pricing and he has been incredibly responsive, even on weekends. In fact, when I called Todd when we had a blockage he took the time to walk me through a possible solution that cost me nothing, where most other companies would have insisted they needed to replace the drain line. Even better was when we were on a recent vacation and noticed our upstairs AC unit wasn’t working correctly via our Nest app. I called Todd from two states away and described what I was seeing and he was at our house within the hour and fixed the problem without us even having to be there. Did I mention it was a Saturday when he did all this. Todd has become my trusted AC contact and would highly recommend him to anyone that needs air conditioning work done.

    Todd is good to go, no BS sales gimmicks/ up charging. Its a rare sight to see in the A/C business. He does complete installs, since I was looking to replace my outdoor unit only he pointed me in the right direction. One of the companies quoted 11.5k for a install, Todd told me that I was getting overcharged, and the job is about 4k. I wouldnt hesitate to use this company.

    Walked into our house that felt like an inferno at 8:30pm on the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend. After calling literally 15 places and waiting for calls back I contacted Todd with Texas Discount Air.     Spoke to Todd on the phone a few nights ago, around 6pm. My AC hasnt been cooling as quickly as it had in the weeks prior. Todd immediately suggested to change out the main air filter, stating that about 50% of his calls recently have been because of dirty filters, but to call back in a couple hours if I didnt see any difference with my system. It appears that the air filter has at least temporarily resolved my issue. Im very impressed with Todd. He saved me time and money but left me knowing that he was available for more help if I needed it. Great way to do business.

    7/13/2018 - My A/C went out on a Friday afternoon. Called my home warranty company but the soonest they could get someone to take a look was the following Tuesday. That wasnt going to work with a new infant, two animals, and a wife who hates anything warmer than arctic temperatures.I called Todd with TDA and he was able to show up within only a few hours. He was professional, attentive, knowledgeable, and had the right tools for the job. The first thing he did was introduce himself and hand me his card. Next, he listed to everything I told him about the problem without interrupting me. Then, he described exactly what the problem was, in detail, and told me what he was going to have to do to fix it. Once I gave him the OK, he went to work and my A/C was working again within the hour.Price was spot on and not outrageous at all for a late Friday night call.Todd is definitely my new go-to-guy for my A/C. Im keeping his business card on the frig right next to my go-to-guy for plumbing.This is who you want for you A/C.

    I was having a problem where the a/c compressor would sometimes stop working and then (days later) I would try it and it would start up again, only to stop after a day or so. My internet search led me to Texas Discount Air and the 5 star reviews that the business really seemed to earn. I guess you really dont know until you make that call but Im glad I did. As it happened, Todd from Texas Discount Air was able to get to me within an hour or so of my initial call. He was on time, professional, courteous, informative and really took the time to determine why the unit wasnt performing. In my case, after checking the outside unit, the thermostat, and going up into the attic to check out what was happening there, he was able to discover that the drain pan wasnt draining, causing the float switch to shut the system down. He brought me up to show me what he had found and gave me an education on what I was working with as I had no clue. He successfully fixed the draining issue, put everything back together outside and actually refused to accept any payment for the work he did or the time he spent (about 40 minutes). His explanation? It wasnt a repair.The unit is almost 17 years old and weve all heard horror stories of unscrupulous or incompetent technicians whove taken advantage of that situation. Todd offered to prepare me a quote for that time in the future when the system might need to be replaced but there was no sales pitch. When that time comes?     ACs been running poorly, $500 electric bill was the final straw. Called Todd assuming freon was low. His equipment showed it was still full, so he did an inspection on the unit to find back coil covered in debris (forgot to clean!). He showed up on time, found the issue in seconds, fixed it in few minutes and best of all, total charges were very reasonable. Other companies i called would charge almost that much, just to come and give an estimate. and todays service comes with 5 yr warranty.     If you are looking for an honest air conditioning repair company look no further. We have had Todd out a number of times over the years. I called yesterday evening because we smelled burning rubber and after an internet search was concerned that it might be the air conditioner. Todd agreed that it definitely could be coming from the A/C and he came out this afternoon. He checked everything out, and to my surprise told me everything actually looks good! He explained to me what to look for in case of future problems (even while my two dogs were barking like crazy 😬) and when he was finished didn’t charge me a dime even though I offered and was more than willing to pay for him coming out.     We had called Todd back in May for an AC tune up. He is the first contractor I have met in my entire life who actually said the words your system is fine, tune ups are a scam. I was floored.     I want to start out by saying WOW. I’ve been a fulltime Realtor for over 11 years so I have worked with a number a HV-AC guys. Texas Discount Air was amazing. My AC stopped working around 3 am and I could not sleep so I Googled who to call. I called his number around 4:30 am and he sent me a text saying he could be out at 9 am. He showed up at 9 am on time!! One look at my AC and he said it’s shot and went over my options. He did not even charge me a trip charge and gave me the number to some people that could do this very specific costly repair.As we were walking to his car I asked him, “if I just replace everything for a little more how soon could it be working.” He told me we could have it installed and cooling by 8 pm that day. Well they had it working by 7 pm that day. His price was very reasonable. Todd and the installer Jared were extremely nice, polite, and professional.     Just wanted to give a shout out to Todd Hoffman at Texas Discount Air (682-214-HVAC). The start of the summer with temps climbing into the 90s, had our upstairs A.C. unit giving us fits. We had a contract with Comfort Experts and had them come in and quote a price for repair and an entire system replacement cost. Needless to say, they gave an exorbitant amount to replace the coil, and an unearthly amount to swap out everything that matched the rating of the existing system. I gave Todd at Texas Discount Air a call, and was pleasantly surprised to get a quote for an upgraded replacement system that was half the quote from Comfort Experts. His guys came in and installed it in less than 6hrs. Were cool now and weve cancelled the contract with CE and look forward to have Todd and his guys perform maintenance and checks. $29.00 service calls....a heck of alot better than some of the other big boy dealers that take advantage of the average homeowner for everything they can.     Todd from Texas Discount Air is my hero. Our heater quit lighting, and nothing we did would fix the problem. I called a few contractors and they were pushing me to replace the entire furnace. With a seriously ill husband and daughter and no income, this was just not possible. Then Todd came to look at the furnace. He showed me what the likely cause was - a very simple fix - and walked me through everything I needed to know in order to fix the heater myself.     I called Texas Discount Air in 2019 and was very pleased with the service! They discovered my condenser fan motor was bad and replaced it at a great rate! The bill was FAR below anywhere else I called! My AC went out again last night(June 2020) so we scheduled another appointment. Our tech last year warned us that our 12 year old unit only has a life expectancy of 7 years and may go out any time. I was fully preparing for this visit to be the one bearing the news that we would need to replace the whole unit! This company had every opportunity to swindle us and I would have never blinked an eye but they did the exact opposite!     This man is a REAL LIFE HERO. Im a single mom of three little girls under 5. We just bought a home less than a month ago. HVAC first went out last week and the home warranty company sent out someone yesterday who said I just needed to clean my outside unit.
