Steve & his team were excellent, professional, and reasonable in cost. I called him for a second opinion after receiving an astronomical estimate from a big name company. He had a quick response to my initial inquiry, came right away to diagnose. His assessment of the issues with my furnace and A/C unit was fair and honest, stating some of the items I was told I would need to replace just needed a simple repair, resulting in a $7k savings for me.Steve was extremely knowledgeable, quickly diagnosing and fixing the problem. Full replacement of the furnace and additional repairs to A/C unit were completed the next day. New thermostat installed, with assistance connecting it to wifi and a brief tutorial on how to use the app to control it. The team cleaned my A/C return vents and supplied me with new filters for the next couple months.Steve also checked the insulation in my attic, the duct work, and dryer exhaust. He gave suggestions for future work needed, and was not at all pushy. I appreciated his professionalism and honesty.My experience was 5 stars. His cost was extremely fair. I am glad I went with SouthTex. I highly recommend!

I cant say enough great things about Steve and his team at SouthTex A/C & Heat. They are quick, reliable, dependable, reasonably priced and most importantly honest! On a Friday morning we woke up to no heat in our home and Steve immediately sent someone out to take a look. They were able to get it working for a couple of hours, but ultimately it needed to be replaced. Steve sent two space heaters over to our home at 6pm on a Friday evening to help keep us comfortable for the weekend and then arrived first thing Monday morning to give us a quote on replacing our entire HVAC system being that it was 21 years old. By Tuesday at noon we were up and running again! Thank you Steve and the entire SouthTex team!

Steve had come out before to help us with our AC going out. His crew did such a great job helping us get back up in running. The last cold snap in January we turned our heater on and it wasn’t working. Steve responded to us at 5:30 in the morning and said he would be out soon. He came out within a few hours to diagnose the issue. With 20 degree weather coming next week we are grateful to have working heat!

I contacted Steve and stated my upstairs air was not cooling and the outside fan was not operating. He arrived within an hour of that call and promptly diagnosed the problem (bad compressor). This took place late on a Friday afternoon.Steve presented options for the repair. Due to the size of the area this unit was cooling, it was suggested I increase from a 2 to 2.5 ton unit to provide easier and more efficient cooling. With my furnace/blower still functioning, Steve expressed I could save money and get by with replacing the condenser and evaporator coil only.Steve made himself available on Saturday to further answer questions I had. Ultimately after discussing options further, I opted to include replacement of the 21 year old furnace/blower as well in order to install a higher seer and more energy efficient condenser.Steve wasn’t pushy about anything and willing to answer my questions and discuss options. He provided me with the cost savings to replace the furnace/blower now versus waiting until it quit working without trying to push me towards spending more money than I had to.His crew showed up first thing Monday morning with all the equipment and had cold air blowing in no time. They were all respectful and laid down moving blankets on the stairs and around the work area to protect the carpet and maintain cleanliness.Would definitely recommend them to anyone needing HVAC service.

My A/C stopped working on Monday, July 31, 2023, at 10pm. Of course, I had a hard time sleeping in the 80 degree heat. I called my normal A/C company and they said they would fit me in and come out the next day, but they could not give me an exact time. I had to resort to using two small portable units I had that worked by filling them with water and ice, and eating popsicles to stay cool (see pic). Not a fair match with this Texas heat. The heat of course continued to rise up to 85. I was in contact with Steve Collelo, the owner of SouthTex A/C & Heat company at 1:00pm discussing a separate matter. I got desperate and asked him if he had any immediate slots available. He was able to send out a Technician by 2:15pm (while I was still waiting on the other company so I cancelled with them). The SouthTex A/C technician was only at my home a few minutes and got my A/C up and running again. Everything from the top of my head on down are grateful for the EXEMPLARY, professional, timely, reliable (I could go on) service I received today. I am one happy camper and know I will get a good nights sleep, and my family is happy, happy, happy (Yep…Duck Dynasty shout-out here). I can’t wait to feel those COOL sheets! After Hurricane Breyl, our AC stopped cooling down due to Freon leak. Initially, I called someone and they came in refilled the Freon (barely lasted a week), but asking for too much to replace evaporator coil due to leak. I called South Tex and Steve was super nice over the phone and explained everything. Next day early morning, they showed up on time and took care of everything very quickly and restored the AC cooling system. Great service, honest work and reasonable price and no extra cost or hidden fees. I will call them again for any AC or heating issues for future.

We had an issue with one of our AC units before the hurricane hit so I reached out to my neighborhood Facebook page to ask for recommendations for an AC service. Multiple people highly recommended Steve and his guys from SouthTex AC! He quickly responded to my post and left his phone number to inform me that he can come 1st thing in the morning! He sent his guys before 11am. They came in two profesional vans and within 5 mins, diagnosed a possible issue, replaced a part, and refilled my unit before checking my attic for any water pan leaks! Everything was done in under 20 mins and my AC was up and running again! I appreciate the steps they took to make the visit satisfactory. Sweating and don’t have time to read reviews: please, read no further and just call Steve right now!End of august and my AC gives up on me. I had received quotes from 3 other companies and felt like they were all upselling me and just in general there was no such thing as honest business anymore (subcontractors alike). Well Steve and South Tex AC restored my faith in good honest service. Integrity is in their values and it shows. No one wants to be in a situation where you’re without AC in this Texas heat. Immediately I noticed South Tex’s work ethics. I contacted Steve on Sunday and he had someone out Monday afternoon. Upon arrival he started doing what he could to REPAIR my old unit but when that didn’t work he fixed me right up with a new one. Didn’t over sell me on anything. And even made a few tedious tweaks that showed me he was taking care of me. Steve earned my business and I will recommend him to all my friends and family in the area…actually I will insist they use him so I know they are in good hands. Stay cool!

I like to know details when I read a review so I’m going to be transparent here! I called these guys out twice. The first time my AC was giving me issues so I was really looking for a quick cheap fix. The 2 technicians were very thorough and identified some issues. They fixed me up and informed me that my unit would need further service. They installed some Wi-Fi thermostat ( which my wife wanted)- very minimal charge. Then today- this morning AC issues called back to them. I talked to Steve!!! He (Steve) was at my house in like two seconds after we hung up. I told him his guys had come out the week before to assess my AC and they told me it would need more service. He didn’t care he wanted me fixed up and happy! I thought that was awesome. He got me fixed up and all is great with life again!Just to be clear- his guys did nothing wrong the first time… a lighting storm knock out some relay switch and I wanted his team back!!!!! They did outstanding!!! You got my business and my recommendation!!!

To say that Steve and his team are heroes is an understatement. My outside unit has been on its last leg for a couple of years and decided to break while my husband was deployed. Really enjoy working with Steve. We have used his services multiple times over the last 8 years. Always fair, honest, responsive and timely. I wish I could find a plumber and electrician as awesome to deal with. My first experience, newborn at home, A/C goes out in August. Get a quote and was told we need a full system replacement, $6k or so. Luckily, get a second opinion from Southtex and Steve had everything working within an hour after replacing a fuse for under $100. Never thought of doing business with any one else since. On Wednesday evening I discovered my air conditioner was not working. Called around and got a bunch of estimates and they were the cheapest. I know cheap is not always the best but in this case they were. Not only were they the cheapest but they were extremely thorough, professional, on time, and honest. They were also respectful of keeping my home clean, as it had been raining and they all wore covers on their shoes. They got the job done and were extremely helpful in explaining everything they were doing and possible causes. They didn’t recommend stuff without a reason. I absolutely loved my experience and have already referred them to two other people. I hope they keep them extremely busy.

While having to replace part of ones AC is never fun, I have to say, I had a great experience with SouthTex A/C. The owner is very knowledgeable and took his time to walk me through my options. Also, you often hear of waiting around all day for repairs - this team showed up right on time and gave me a heads up before they arrived. Whole A/C went out, started calling reputable companies in my area for quotes. Initial inspection fee range $100 - $125, needed complete system (minus ducts). Range was $10K - $14K. Talked with a neighbor that has similar problem and is thinking of doing her whole system as well. She was referred by one of her friends to call Steve at SouthTex A/C. I called Steve, spoke with him, sent him over my inspection report for a quote. Steve was up front and professional. He said he could do the job and beat the cost considerably. Quote was very reasonable, ended up saving thousands. Steve and his team did my whole system changed out and tested in 3hrs! My neighbor across the street had hers done after mine and was just as pleased. You can waste time and energy getting quotes, but I would highly recommend SouthTex AC & Heat if you are looking for quality and savings. One of my 3 AC units went out this spring. I was recommended by my friends to contact SouthTex AC. The owner, Steve, is a knowledgeable, responsible, nice and fun guy. It was a pleasure to talk with him. He came over, identified our AC problem right away. We end up replacing our unit. On the day, he came over with his team in the early morning and get the job done efficiently in a few hours. He also replaced my old thermostat with a new WIFI one, and checked our other two units without additional charge. After the work was done, we found the workers damaged a piece of drywall. Texas ice storm took our furnace out and if it were not for Steve we would have been left without heat during some of the coldest temperatures this state has ever experienced. I wish I could give Mr. Steve (owner) and his crew at Southtex AC & Heat more than five stars due to their exceptional service, professionalism and promptness. I contacted Mr. Steve at the beginning of the week of June 15, 2020 to request a quote on an HVAC replacement. He was kind enough to swing by my home to take a look at my unit and give me a quote. I had been without AC for over three years due to not having the funds available to completely replacement my HVAC system. I attempted to get financing through a company that Southtex AC & Heat was affiliated with, but was declined/denied. Mr. Steve just so happened to send me a text message to determine if I had gotten approved for financing and I told him I didnt and that I didnt know what else to do. I surely wasnt expecting him to follow up with me, but he did. At that point, I knew that he really cared about my situation and was willing to assist me anyway he could...and he did! He asked if I could afford to pay his company a certain amount, each month, for a new AC replacement and I told him yes and I would make it happen. Surprisingly, he told me he would be at my home later that week (Friday) to put in my new unit! I still get emotional thinking about how things transpired on last week (week of June 15, 2020) for the good...Mr. Steve, if youre reading this, thank you, sir. I had problems with my AC and Steve at South Tex walked me through some troubleshooting steps over the phone. I got everything going again with no problems. A year or so later I had a fan motor and capacitor go out. I was having trouble and called another AC person to come look at it. The other AC person told me I needed a new unit, computer board, and a number of other things. I was looking at $8,600 replacement cost. I called South Tex and Steve came out on a Saturday. He found some wires I had crossed and recharged my system. The AC unit fired up and worked perfect. He told me I could get a couple more years out of my current system. I highly recommend South Tex AC, and give them a five star plus rating. South Texs integrity says a lot about the company.

This company installed an AC unit for me 12 years ago. I have had them back out twice and it was always a small problem to fix and a small price. I will never use anyone except them they are very experienced very kind and care about their customers. He is also a veteran which means a lot to me.

Called Steve around 7 pm on a Thursday evening and he came out on Friday morning around 9:30 am. Unit was low on Freon but I also had an issue with a leak and the blower motor in attic was going out. He added Freon and let me know it should hold until new system could be done. Well it almost made it as my blower fan went out mid afternoon on Monday and luckily I had a window unit I was able to use in the bedroom to keep it cool. He was able to install a complete HVAC system on Tuesday morning. He said his crew would arrive at 7:30 am and they are very prompt and respectful of your home as well being very polite. Complete install was done by 9:40 am.

I can not say enough nice things about this AC company. My husband has used them for over a decade (even before we married) and the homeowner before us used them as well. I cannot think of any other company or provider with whom we have known that has been in business this long and that we have used with no issues or complaints. Every technician we have had has been courteous and polite but most importantly they have been knowledgeable. I grew up in Texas so I can tell you having AC that works well is crucial! South Tex has always been responsive when things go wrong (as they naturally will over time) they have been fair with costs etc... I would recommend them to anyone. I would give them a higher rating that the five stars if I could! One last thing, I am over 50 and dont find it easy to get along with computers but this company is so excellent I decided to do this.
