    2/20/25... Great company! I woke this morning with my furnace not working properly. 69degrees inside and 28degrees outside, feels like 14. They were booked all day but would try and have someone here today. Promised to call me back and they did with a window of 3-6pm same day. My tech Stanley was here at Noon! Stanley has been here several times as I have 68 Degrees do my yearly maintenances and any repairs. He is very professional and super nice! Everyone Ive dealt with from the person taking my calls (Bethany today) to the techs are the best. 10/10 recommend!

    Stanley came and inspected our furnace after an earlier inspector had tried to upsell us on a whole new system. He reassured us that our furnace worked just fine, and took us through a number of options to consider for down the line. We appreciated his depth of experience and lack of pressure selling. We highly recommend 68 Degrees HVAC!

    We met with Steve and the first time I had him to come to give his opinion on our HVAC system (we have 6 units), I was impressed with his candor and honesty. His knowledge of HVAC is impressive and he doesn’t try to simply push for replace an entire HVAC system like several others will want to do. He did a great job describing the scope of the issues with our system including improving our filtration and dehumidifying the units. He was extremely compassionate with understanding the scope and our situation was complex but his son, Spencer, came out as well and did a phenomenal job. The entire team was very responsible and timely and went above and beyond what we expected and his attention to detail was struck us the most. We had found that after his team came out that our home actually got too cold which was a first and maybe perhaps that is why there company is named 68 degrees bc your home will feel that cold afterwards;) Do your research but I have found a company that will be with us long term and this is really hard to find! Good luck!

    I recently had to get my AC replaced and got in touch with a number of companies including 68 degrees. Steve and Spencer were very knowledgeable and easy going and explained everything that was needed in detail. They made sure I was not left without running AC that night. When they came back for the installation the whole team was professional and did a great job. Eric and his guys even made sure everything was cleaned up before leaving. Steve answered all my questions and gave good advice on things related to the work done. Throughout the engagement, I did not feel like Steve was trying to upsell anything and he built trust. I feel Steve, Spencer, Eric and their team is a bunch of good guys ready to help for a fair price. I would recommend them to take care of for all AC problems in the future.

They helped with a compressor warranty that was being disputed from Carrier and then when that one went out again, they worked with me to replace my unit and add some safety devices as well.     When looking for an HVAC team, you need competency and trust.We worked with a number of teams and obtained various quotes but quickly chose Steve at 68 Degrees, as he focused on OUR needs and not only the sale.     So our 5 ton A/C units compressor went out Friday afternoon, and by 4pm, Spencer with 68* was onsite trouble shooting my issue. After determining it was the compressor I was told that due to the time of day, a replacement part could not be sourced until Monday at the earliest and Id get an email/call with an install date. I had a question that I needed to ask regarding my units warranty, and his answering service promptly took my information and passed it along to the team at 68*. They were very thorough with keeping me in the loop as to what was going on, and to my surprise also called me on Sunday to inform me they had a client that needed to reschedule their work, and were able to pencil me in for Monday. I can not thank them enough for the fast turnaround, and their attention to detail in leaving my yard in awesome shape. It rained over the weekend and you wouldnt know I had 3 guys lugging equipment around my yard for a repair. Do not hesitate to call them for your needs. I rarely write lengthy reviews, but they earned my time, and any future work that may come up in the future. Thank you Spencer, Bethany, Steve and Stanley. Yall will definitely get more business from me.

    Used 68 Degrees for a simple issue that when selling our house, the buyer requested a certified HVAC specialist inspect and mitigate. I actually called 2 companies prior to 68 Degrees who didnt know how to address my question/request. Im so glad to have found this company. Their communication skills could give other companies a well needed education ;) and you can tell they are all very knowledgeable AND actually care/enjoy the work they do.     Absolutely the best!!! From the minute we called to the minute they were finished. Helped us understand our warranty, got us in right away, kept us updated throughout the whole repair process, took pictures to show us and even the owner stopped by after to make sure we weren’t having issues and we were happy.     Every time that the A/C units go out, it is a big disruption. Especially with 6 people living, working, and going to school from home. When one of our 21 year units went out, I decided it was time to replace it. I called a home inspector friend of mind to see if he had any recommendations for an AC guy. He did.You need Steve Gutterud!I called Steve, and from the very beginning I felt like more than a customer or a checkbook. Steve came out and reviewed the options. I needed a couple of days to think about it. He got me up and running with the units I had so that I can could consider my options in comfort.After making a decision, he got out here with the work crew. The new ACs were installed, and it was a fantastic system. I can even control it from my phone (sssh... dont tell the family :-) )Steve came out a week later to double check that everything was still working well. And called a week after to do triple check.I know that I wont have to worry about my ACs for a while. But if I need someone to work on them, I know who Im going to call!

    My HVAC system was leaking water from under the furnace. I’m always very nervous and dread hiring for services due to frequent encounters with dishonest, greedy and unhelpful companies that try to misdiagnose for more money. I was so incredibly impressed and relieved to have their technician, Jake, come to my house only an hour and a half after I called to report the problem. He came right when the office said he would, and called me prior to his arrival. The lady who answered the service call, was also very professional and helpful, my apologies for not catching her name. Jake was very thorough and friendly, you could tell he took pride in and enjoyed what he does so well. He took the time to quickly and accurately find the issue and explain the problem and the causes. He even gave me maintenance tips on how to prevent further issues with not only the current problem but other common HVAC issues. He was very patient and taught me a lot! He even offered to crawl in my attic to check the ductwork since one of my bedrooms doesn’t cool as well as the others. Just when I thought it couldn’t get any better, nearing the end of the service call, a supervisor called Jake to check on how things were coming along and spoke to me to insure that I was happy with the the work. I was pleasantly surprised also at how fair the pricing was. Talk about a business run the way they used to be! 68° is definitely a diamond in the rough. Don’t hesitate to trust them with any of your HVAC issues. THANK YOU JAKE AND 68 DEGREES!!!

    Spencer and 68 Degrees HVAC have been servicing my AC units for 4 years now and I have not been disappointed. They were the most knowledgeable in their field, and offered the best value. (They were not the cheapest, but offered the best value... which - we feel - is most important. We wanted an excellent, long-term solution.) They were clean, thorough, and personable. We would definitely refer people to them, or use them in the future, if we needed HVAC assistance.     When our A/C went out, we called 68° HVAC on the recommendation of our neighbor and I couldn’t be more happy about that decision. It was Saturday morning in the middle of a heat wave, so I did not expect to see a technician for a week based upon our previous experiences. Was I ever wrong! I was not only able to reach someone immediately, but when all the other technicians were already busy, one of the owners came out to our house in under two hours. He made the needed repairs, charged a fair price for quality work, and even took the time to provide me with some education to help me avoid some future problems. Having only moved to the Houston area a couple of years ago we do not have a list of trusted service companies like before we moved. I can now add 68° HVAC as a trusted service provider to my new list knowing who I will call without hesitation if I am ever again in need and I would suggest you do the same if you are reading this review.

    The reviews dont lie, yall.Steve is incredibly honest and will tell you what you actually need and DONT need for your AC system. Sadly, this is rare. We originally brought him in after a very large AC company in the area told us we needed an insanely expensive uv light system (among other things). Steve explained what we actually needed which was much cheaper and then went on to be our AC guy. Hes the real deal. He takes lots of videos, explains everything and knows his stuff.I cannot recommend 68 degrees enough.

    Had my initial service call back in early February/13th- heat not working. Tech came out and within - 30 minutes the system was up and running. Today /27th the ac would not functioning. So I called 68 degrees , spoke to the Sec and was advised that she would call me back to let me know when the tech would be out. About an hour later there is a knock at my door and the owner and an assistant are there. They proceeded to fix my problems which were more extensive then suspected. However, to my surprise, it was at no cost to me. Steve and his crew are outstanding service providers. They were surprisingly prompt and extremely concerned with my satisfaction.     We have always had the very best of service from 68 Degrees. The owner, Steve Gutterud is committed to his customers and treating them like he would like to be treated himself. He has often gone out of his way to sure that our home and our business have the very best of care. When the current heat wave hit Houston hard and our AC wasnt working well, Steve personally spent hours on the phone securing the back ordered part. He then had a team of 4 technicians at our business to make sure that the part was installed properly and things were running smoothly. Steve visited the next day to make sure that the cooler temperature was holding. Steve is a man of honor and he runs his business in a fashion that reflects that.

    After having two different HVAC companies try to sell me two entire new A/C and heating systems (house is 20 years old but upper A/C unit replaced 9 years ago) it was a breath of fresh air to have Steve with 68 Degrees give me the true story of my HVAC health.     After dealing with two other HVAC contractors, I engaged 68 Degrees to address the problem. My HVAC unit had over heated and was blowing smoke through the ductwork into my residence. The first contractor said that the unit would have to be replaced at a cost of $14,000+. The second contractor mis-diagnosed the issue and said that the repair cost would be less than $2,000. Both of them stated that it would be days, if not weeks before the repairs could be done. The 68 Degrees team came out within hours, correctly diagnosed the issue (a failed circuit board and blower) and had the parts ordered and the unit repaired within 24 hours. They were professional in every aspect of their service - from their image to their communication and precision. They also gave me important tips on how to run the unit more efficiently. The cost was very reasonable and appropriate. I highly recommend 68 Degrees to anyone who wants prompt, efficient, effective, and extraordinary service. Ill never call another HVAC contractor again. 68 Degrees will be my service provider forever.

    Steve is awesome. Ac went out and he was on site 2 hours later! House was cool an hour after he left! He is honest and up front about pricing and doesn’t try to upsell. He told me his price on the part he replaced broke down all pricing and made me feel comfortable. I was out of town and my wife and kids were there by themselves. I’m very happy I had Steve to call, because in mid July an ac repair on a Saturday has a potential to be catastrophic but Steve made it pain free!     I give him five stars for his knowledge and professional manner. It was a good value especially for the time he spent with me and the basic maintenence he performed.     These guys came out and listened to my concerns about the expense of replacing both of my ac and furnace units. They inspected the units and gave me some hope by doing some maintenance and giving me options to prolong the life of my units. The only thing I would correct is before hooking up and performing maintenance discuss price for diagnostics prior.     Update: My 3-year old systems are working great and Steve, Stanley and the team check them out each year. During the summer heat wave one unit stopped working properly - it wouldnt shut off. They diagnosed the issue as a failed Wifi thermostat and quickly replaced it with a new one. 68 Degrees always responds promptly and their work is top drawer! Many thanks.SGHVAC did a complete replacement of 3 AC/Heating units for us in May 2020, using variable speed equipment and smart thermostats. He solved our humidity issues and improved the comfort in our house. About 6 months later, they came and checked all the settings and made a few adjustments. We just had them come for our annual service check up. Everything went great and we highly recommend SGHVAC!

    Another heroic save by Steve and his crew. I called Steve at 6:45am today to tell him I had water pouring out of my A/C vents and light fixtures down stairs. He rushed over and found that I had a catastrophic failure at the valve on my hot water heater. He was able to drain it and sent his team over to take out the wet Sheetrock, wet insulation, wet carpet and pad, etc...He installed a new water heater and got dehumidifiers running. He explained the fundamentals of balancing and flow rates as well as the downfalls of over engineered energy efficient contractor grade construction.
