We are so happy with our new system. All of the guys were very professional, kind, considerate, competent, and worked hard every minute they were here. We were extremely impressed! My husband and I were thankful to Jose for coming out fast on a Friday evening after work hours and taking care of us. We were even able to get our new system installed the next day! Unbelievable for August in Texas when it seems everyone’s air is giving trouble.

5 stars for 5 Star HVAC. They were recommended to us by our previous HVAC guy who retired. They did a bunch of work to our failing heating system the next day after first consultation. It was a safety issue in our house, and we were so grateful for their prompt and affordable service. All of the guys were extremely professional, protected all of our belongings, and cleaned up afterwards. they also fixed an airflow issue in our house that made some rooms hot when others were cold. All of the above was done at half the price quoted by another large box company, so we couldn’t be happier. They just got some loyal customers for life!

After diagnosing the issue, they were able to get the equipment and install that very same day and stayed until everything was working properly. I called 5 Star initially to get a second opinion on my HVAC/condenser diagnosis and pricing I received from a well advertised/large DFW company--their quote was absolutely shocking. 5 Stars quote with identical equipment plus additional items installed more than 1/2 less!... I have the documentation to back this up. Make SURE you get 2-3 quotes--the prices vary wildly for identical equipment/job as many companies are sales organizations first, then HVAC next. Needless to say, 5 Star won the job, came out the next day and had the installation of my 5 ton outside Lennox unit done within a few hours. The crew did exactly what they promised, were super professional and courteous--no frills, just pros that got it done. I have since received follow up calls to check on the installation and performance, etc. Beware of the shiny new trucks and advertising you see from the larger HVAC companies--their overhead will cost you dearly. 5 Star was exceptional in every category and I got a fair price. No hesitation to recommend them.

We have had issues with our HVAC being out of balance for many years in our home. We contacted 5 Star HVAC, and Pedro came the next day to assess our system and recommend fixes. We wound up needing significant work, and one of our furnaces was undersized for our home. Pedro did not sugar coat our situation. The effort and cost was substantial. We were able to take advantage of some pretty decent financing offered through a 3rd party. The work was scheduled for the following week. The crew showed up promptly to the appointment and began work. They gave us feedback about the install as it was happening, and allowed us to make a few custom changes concerning where new ductwork would run, where new vents and returns would be installed. They were here most of the day, and had us up and running in the early evening. Pedro came back to see us the next day for a final inspection, and found a few issues to be corrected. The crew returned to make the corrections the same day. We had a great experience with 5 Star HVAC, and would recommend them to anyone looking to make adjustments with their existing HVAC system.

Pedro even pointed out issues that were not part of their job but had been done in a poor manner by previous contractors. We love our new Lennox HVAC system. Awoke this morning to a very cold downstairs! Called 5 Star, expecting to have a several hour wait for a contractor as it’s snowing outside. They had an honest and professional guy at my door within an hour. He didn’t try to upsell me. He fixed the problem (a capacitor) when other HVAC companies would undoubtedly have tried to sell me a whole motor. I highly recommend this company.

Our AC was not performing and we were struggling to get ahold of a company. 5 Star answered every time I called. They were honest about availability and arrived within the given time frame. Our AC was frozen and needed to thaw he assessed our duct work and the capability of our HVAC. He provided two different options to improve our efficiency without trying to oversell. He also followed up the next day to make sure there weren’t continued issues. We were very pleased with the quick and professional work. Definitely going to use them to replace our duct work.

WOW is all I can say about this company! My fan stopped working Saturday night on my air conditioning unit and it was extremely warm. I looked through Yelp and found this company and called to see if they service the Frisco area. I was told yes they do. I explained what the problem was and they were able to get me an appointment on Sunday morning at the earliest slot available! I had to take my sister to the airport Sunday afternoon around noon and I explained that to Jose and he accommodated me at the time I needed.Rick B was the technician that came to my house on Sunday morning. What a true professional. He said he’s been doing this type of work since 1988 and went immediately to the unit, replaced two parts and it works like a champ. 10 or 15 minutes later and he was in and out and air-conditioning is cooling better than before. I appreciate the prompt service !!!I certainly would not hesitate to call Jose at 5 Star HVAC if I need service again.Also, as a side-note, I do have American home shield as my warranty company and I did not decide to put in a service call with them because their service would never have been as prompt and professional as this company was! Thank you Jose and Rick B!!!Update… 10/11/2024A week ago I woke up and found my thermostat blank. And it was extremely hot in my house because the air conditioning had shut off. I checked everything that I could think of myself with no luck. It was 6:30 in the morning and I called 5 star HVAC contractors since I had good luck with them in the past. I was very surprised when someone answered and said they could get a technician out to my house later on in the afternoon. I explained my situation that it was very hot in my house and asked for an early appointment if possible. Rick B responded to the call and although I can’t say for sure, I believe he might have rearranged his schedule to come to my house earlier than initially planned for. He was able to get my thermostat working and the AC was blowing again. He did show me a part that might’ve caused the problem and although it was my choice to do so, he did recommend at some point changing the air handler unit in the garage. Since that controls the heat, I did not want to have any problems come this winter and I agreed to have that replaced and asked if it could be done the same day since I don’t typically work from home and I would not be available until Saturday to stay home. This company was fantastic and able to accommodate me the same afternoon. A few workers, all very professional, showed up about 1430, installed a new above the tub air handler and left a few hours later. I opted for a new thermostat too however the worker did not have that part with him but again, he was very kind and able to accommodate my work schedule and came at 1730 the next day. Because I opted to have the new air handler installed, Rick B was very nice and did not charge me for his work to get the thermostat up and running. (Sorry Rick if I got you in trouble for saying that. That was not my intention at all.)If I could rename this company 10 stars, I would. Fantastic company to work with! Fan motor went out. Found we had a larger unit for our home than needed. Over the years the unit developed black mold due to the unit not removing moisture. We replaced the existing unit, both inside and outside because we needed a heat pump and smaller unit to balance out the cooling and heating to eliminate the mold. The replacement for a new system took less than a day to remove the old unit and replace with all new equipment. Great job. 5 stars for 5-Star. Very pleased with the install and quick service.Thanks guys.

5 Star serviced and inspected our HVAC quickly and with courtesy. Upon inspection they found an undersized part o different HVAC company replaced. They advised the overall damage that would occur if we did not replace it with the proper sized part. They quickly provided me an estimate to replace the part, and suggest another change to our HVAC to increase efficiency of our overall house. A few days later they scheduled the work, completed the work on time and now we find our entire house has an improved temp balance in all rooms, and is not requiring both of our HVAC systems to work as hard compared to how the system was previously designed.I highly recommend 5 Star for your HVAC needs.

My experience with five star heating and air conditioning service was probably one of the most positive experiences with Service people I’ve ever had. My AC went out on a Sunday night. I called five star Monday morning at eight, they were here by 10 o’clock in the morning to give me an estimate and make recommendations. Jose and Pedro are the two who came out. Jose is the owner and Pedro is his top tech. Both were extremely professional very well spoken. They knew we were worried because we were older people and they both told us they would take very good care of us and they did. . They had a crew of seven or eight people out by 3 o’clock and they had installed an entire AC System by 7:00 PM. I wanted to stay out of their way because I knew it was a lot of work for them so I didn’t catch the names of all seven or eight guys but I do know ones name was Ben. They were all equally professional, kind, knowledgeable, and I would never consider using anyone else, but their company. They left that evening came back the next day Tuesday to check and make sure everything was going smoothly which it was. I don’t think anyone could get a better service.

I had the pleasure of dealing with Troy and Micah for this experience. Our A/C unit was over 20 years old and had enough. On a Saturday afternoon unfortunately so we were in a very sweaty bind for the weekend. After being directed to a company that wasn’t even in Rowlett by an answering service, I didn’t feel comfortable at all with the appointment I had set for Monday afternoon. We certainly didn’t want to wait that long. I searched again and came across 5 Star and when I called, they actually answered, not an answering bot. They were happy to help and Micah was on site within two hours. Within 48 hours, before the other company could even come to diagnose, I was back up and running with a new unit that is much more efficient than the old one. They gave me a fair deal on it and I am very happy with the whole transaction. Highly recommend Troy and his team at 5 Star HVAC in Rowlett. Very good people.

Ive used 5 Star HVAC Contractors several times. I will again. These guys have shown up same day in the Summer, fixed the unit so it would cool, as promised, and even warned me of what may be coming. No hard sells, only making suggestions for my awareness and pointed to saving me money, admitting that we can still replace parts until a full replacement is required for functionality. They have service agreements with maintenance checks included to be proactive at Seasons change. Rick visited me today for just such a check-up! Woke up Sunday morning to an AC blowing warm air. I submitted a quote request through Yelp and contacted a few other HVAC companies, and 5 Star were the only guys able to make it out same day. The technician got on my condo roof in a little bit of drizzle, identified a blown capacitor, and replaced it in around 30 minutes. I am giving 4 stars because the charge was $399, which seems a bit high. However, I dont think its entirely unreasonable given the work was done outside of normal business hours and it saved me a headache going into a busy week.

The technician Pedro was honest and said I needed parts as in two capacitors and a starter but I was hoping to get out with the $55 special air tune up and ended up over $800 but again he was being honest on my older unit and no pressure. Glad I had funds to keep unit running. Sometimes you need to pay more than expected to save more. Said unit could go out in heat of summer without the recommended parts and in Summer would costs more as system would be not working at that time. So do as necessary and in the long run you be happy. Also gave a $2300 dollar lower bid on a new system over a leading competitor. Good service with honesty. Could not do 2nd review as asked to do so. Last week on 6/6 service again for thermostat replacement. Another $200 dollars. Well $1000 spent in a months time. Were here 20 minutes and repair done and left. So far works well. Thanks!

I woke up Monday morning during our cold snap to find my thermostat was at 60*. I had replaced the unit when I purchased this home 9/17. Unfortunately, the referral I had received from the realtor did not work out to well. I often wondered why my one room was always so warm. The previous HVAC left no room for return air. I was shocked when I called and I had an appointment that same morning. Took a day to look for the part, and they were very honest that even replacing the part it would more than likely have the same issue next winter. I knew they were being honest, not happy to be replacing a unit under 7 years of use, and right after Christmas. They fixed my system so I would not go below 60 until Saturday when they could replace the unit. I work from home, they even worked around my schedule. The cost was more than fair, the work was excellent, and I forgot what it felt like to have air circulating. Going forward, the only company that will work on my unit heat and air!! They sent out their techs to look at the issue the same day I called, they diagnosed the issue and said theyd send their team out the next day (a Sunday) as it was going to require replacing the entire system.In the meantime they loaned us a portable window unit to cool our bedroom so we could at least sleep in comfort...after a week of living in a humid sweltering box, this bit of generosity was a God-send.Yes we had to pay out of pocket, but the great workmanship (they shored up our ducts in the garage which were a mess and even leaking some), peace of mind of knowing it was done right and checked, along with the immediate positive results justify the cost.I hope this system lasts for a long time, but Ill be calling 5 Star if I need service in the future.EDIT: June 2024, The system still works great, theyve honored their service agreement to come clean the system, and remain as helpful as ever.

We had, for lack of a better description, our air conditioners air handler causing rain inside the house. 5 star HVAC was able to give us quotes for multiple options and we eventually decided to have the air handler replaced entirely. They did this for a reasonable price and even repaired much of the ductwork that was damaged prior to the incident. The workers were very professional and did not leave until they were confident the system was at maximum efficiency. To top it all off their response time was 2 days better than anyone else. Definitely give these guys a call.

I don’t recommend companies unless they are outstanding and I can highly recommend 5 Star HVAC contractors.Our air was going out periodically and with the hot weather predicted I wanted to get it taken care of.I called a company who promptly came out and said we had no Freon and adding Freon wouldn’t last long and quoted me $12,000 to replace the unit.I called another company for a 2nd opinion and they said they could come out next Tuesday. This was Wednesday.I called 5 Star and they had someone out that day.The technician, Chip, who was great, and showed up earlier than expected said that we were low on Freon and gave us a couple of options and said he’d get us an estimate which we got the same evening.Long story short we had the unit installed on Friday and the installers were just courteous as everyone we dealt with from Five Star. They were in and out in less than 2 hours and other than the cool air you wouldn’t know any work had been done.Thanks 5 Star. Well done!

Jose of 5 Star HVAC is a great guy and a man of his word. I had a coil go out under warranty and he had all my records and was able to fix it the following morning with no problems. I was shocked when he told me he could since I just had a total knee replacement and am scheduling a total right shoulder replacement in two weeks. I was very nervous that I could not get it done at a reasonable price… Jose covered the coil under warranty and I paid labor. He had three men working on time the very next day and trusted me for payment later that day… He is a gentleman, respectful and a man of his word. I recommend him highly!!!!!!

They returned my call within 5 minutes and had someone at my house by noon. It would have been sooner but I had an appointment.Troy reviewed my system and confirmed the issue. He offered to try and fix just the problem and explained simply the pros and cons. My system was so old that a fix to the problem would only prolong the death of the entire system, and not by much. He then offered and explained what replacing just the handling unit would cost and what an entire new system would cost.His patient and simple explanations helped me make a confident decision and they were out the next morning to install the new components. I would recommend 5 Star any day.

The ac tech that fixed my issue said the work was complete but left the air filter compartment open and didn’t put the air filter in.
