I called Klingemann at 4:58pm (needing a last minute inspection), and they closed at 5:30pm. Russell answered my call and asked, “Well, how close are you?” I said, “five minutes.” Without hesitation, Russell replied, “When you get here, just ask for Russell, and we’ll get your inspection done.” Due to the construction, my maps rerouted me, causing me to show up at 5:15pm. With a smile on his face, Russell said, “Took just a little bit longer, no worries, we still got you.” Truly the best customer service I’ve ever experienced at a shop. Thank you Klingemann and Russell! We will now bring all of our cars to you for any and all service, and we’ll definitely spread the word about this wonderful experience!

Dan was very professional and his customer service was good. No complaint here.. However, I think inspection time could be improved. I was there very early and 2nd person in line but it still took over hour to get inspected. I am not sure what is taking so long where we are now just getting the emission test.

I made a sudden decision this morning to get my oil changed by this place, which I have not used before. I was pleasantly surprised to be able to walk in and be greeted by a very pleasant technician (Russell) at the counter and they took my car in right away. Russell made me feel comfortable and answered all my questions and I was able to wait in a very nice waiting room. Very pleased with my whole experience and I will use them again.

It was close to the end of their work day, but they knocked the test out for me and had me on my way in about 15 min. Bought a used car from a dealer about 3 weeks ago, super happy with my purchase until the check engine light came on. Took to auto parts store and had them run a check, code came back suggesting an emissions problem.I brought my car to Klingemann, asking for a fuel injection cleaning and oil change.Russell was so helpful. I shared my print out of the code and he brought Morris into the mix. While the diagnostic time was a little longer than I’d hoped for, it was exactly the amount of time Russell told me it would be. I have been taking my vehicles to Klingemann for almost 20 years and I cannot think of a single negative remark to say. Throughout the years, they have been honest and hard-working. They do exactly what is asked of them and always in a timely manner. Their results speak for themselves. They always call and give me suggested fixes, but never are pushy if I decline. Their prices are not always the cheapest and because they are always so busy, they arent always the fastest. But they are always friendly. Only one time in twenty years have I had their work not be up to par - but thankfully, it wasnt a terrible outcome and they fixed it free of charge (as they should have). I will continue to take my cars there for as long as I live in SW Austin and look forward to friendly faces and honest mechanics. Thank you Klingemann!!

I’ve been having problems with my tire indicator light coming on. Took it to Klingeman’s auto off 290 where I was warmly greeted by Russell and Daniel. Despite being backed up, Russell worked me in to make sure I wasn’t driving around with a nail in a tire. Albert couldn’t find a problem other than being a little low on air but did alert me to a possible oil leak and let me see it. Greatly appreciate the kindness. Go Cubs Go!

They were incredibly thorough in diagnosing my aging brakes with my Toyota Rav , explained everything clearly, what was broken, what parts I needed and provided a super fair price for the repairs. Fast , this shop is fast for repairs. Then they put in a new starter for me / 8 hr. turnaround - great price. The staff was friendly, professional, and kept me updated throughout the process ; Shop Manager texted me when the Toyota Rav was ready for pickup . I took my sons vehicle to Klingemanns on Hwy. 290 a couple weeks ago. Tom and everyone else that I dealt with were very nice and helpful. They found the issue and texted a document that explained it as well as the cost to repair, broken down into parts/cost and labor cost. It also had a list of some other issues and notes about whether or not they were urgent. We gave the okay to do the repair and they fixed the issue. It went exactly as one would hope. My experience there was excellent and I would highly recommend them.

Adjusting my review here a bit as I have had a mix of good and frustrating/inconsistent experiences with Klingemann.The frustrating/inconsistent:They once chided me for claiming my AC stopped working 10mi after bringing my car in to get my alternator replaced, along with a full inspection. The front desk guy told me the AC had passed inspection and - with a massive eye roll - perhaps a lemony snicket series of unfortunate events might have occurred (in the 10 miles of driving between when I picked my car up) and it would be an extra $100 inspection charge to even look at it. I had just paid for a full $100 inspection.Later, they admitted they did the inspection before replacing the alternator, and disconnected the AC when replacing the alternator and forgot to reconnect it. Not sure how they even performed a comprehensive inspection on a car with a broken alternator, but to their credit: they fixed it free of charge and did NOT charge an extra $100 for a separate inspection.I asked about a state inspection during a visit to get my O2 sensors replaced to address a CEL light. After getting that fixed, I was told by Klingemann Person 1 the remaining CEL code was cosmetic and to just come in when my registration was about to expire and it would be an easy pass. When I came in 1mo later, it was a different person, Person 2, who refused to refused to pass me on the CEL and tried to charge me $700 for a new EVAP cannister. When I said they themselves already diagnosed the issue and it wasnt the cannister, it was cosmetic, he says Well Id have to charge $100 inspection fee to confirm that and were booking 3 weeks out. I didnt have 3 weeks to wait, and I didnt need to again spend $100 to re-confirm what a different person from their very own shop had already confirmed on my initial inspection.So I took the car to the dealership, K-mann Person 1 was correct: it was cosmetic and I got the gas cap replaced, and got a pass on a state inspection which contrary to what K-mann Person 2 said, I was able to pass, despite clearing the CEL. Havent seen the CEL since. Glad I didnt listen to K-mann Person 2, and unnecessarily have them replace the EVAP cannister and spend $700 which would still not even have cleared the CEL code or passed state inspection, yikes!The good:On everything else, they have done very good work, especially the strut repair on my vehicle. And they did right by me on the AC when they made a mistake. They also have a really great balance and rotate system and a good alignment machine and reasonable rates on these services & oil change etc.I also bought a set of tires from them when I got the O2 sensors replaced. A few months later, the O2 sensors they installed correctly indicated a slow leak. And true to their word, they did not charge me a dime to repair a leak in the tire.So I do trust Klingemann on certain things, especially oil, tire, and anything drivetrain related. But I will go elsewhere for a state inspection, and will definitely be sure to double check anything they say that would cost over $1000 and just google around and maybe get a 2nd opinion.

I took my company truck in to have the engine replaced with a rebuilt Jasper Engine back in December and our truck hasn’t skipped a beat since. Plus I got a 3 year/100,000 mile warranty. Auto work is like going to the Doctor. Sometimes it takes more to completely fix what ails you. So I empathize with folks who feel like they are not being taken care of but I can also read between the lines and identify when something else goes wrong and understand that I simply have another issue that needs to be addressed. Klingemans is an awesome shop and everyone there does a fantastic job. Customer service is spot on as well.

Amazing service! These guys are friendly and outgoing plus even though it’s not necessary they have a nice little charging unit for all phones. A car inspection took about 20 minutes and cost less than 20$! I called after getting my inspection because my break emergency light was on and it was because the Emergency break was left up after the inspection (talk about being a goober on my part). The man who picked up didn’t make fun of me which was more than warranted and was very polite! If you are going to complain about them leaving the AC on full blast or them adjusting your seat too much then clearly you are extremely high maintenance and need to assess your princess/prince attitude (The reviewer Chris) but if you want quick, friendly and awesome service then there is no place else I can recommend.

I went by to see if they could fix the bumper light on my SUV. They were able to get me in very quickly and replaced the bulb at a very reasonable rate. I have other friends who got work done on their cars at this shop and all were very satisfied and recommended that I go there. I am glad I did. I work next to firestone but I refuse to go there as they have not been honest with me in the past. so i am glad I found a new mechanic in town, its a bit of a drive for me but is well worth it. I did state inspection here for my two cars and was happy with the service, very polite office manager and fast work.Oil change was also good experiences. Initially we had some misunderstanding with light bulbs that servicemen told should be replaced. My husband checked the car later at home and everything looked OK. And the car passed state inspection just week ago. So he suspected not honest service and we wrote negative review. Couple days later the owner of this place called us personally and explained which specific bulbs are burnt and why they are not considered critical for state inspection. What a great customer service! They stays behind their work and value good reputation. Checked the car again and found 3rd middle stop light and second lamp on licence plate indeed not working. Not only that, Ive always loved their service so it was a perfect marriage.Yesterday I dropped my 2013 Silverado off for a $90 synthetic standard oil change which they finished in just a couple of hours (around 3:30PM). They close at 5:30 and I got stuck at work and showed up at 5:42 12minutes after closing. My bad and I accept responsibility for that. The people there know me and recognize me. They know Im a loyal customer and have been for years. The guy closing made absolutely no attempt to help me(he knows Im a loyal customer). All he had to do was open the gate, give me my key and I would have paid the next morning(because his computer was shut down). Instead I was stuck in the heat with no vehicle. I even offered to leave my credit card, but he said it was too much trouble and that everything was locked and there was nothing he could do and I closed 15 minutes go man.I get it, but whatever happened to customer service? He could have at least tried? He could have gone and looked to see how much trouble it actually may have been to give me my vehicle. If he had come back and said, man I have to unclock two garage doors and move 3 vehicles to get to your truck, I would have understood more and he would have at least tried. He recognized me from previous business, and youd think a loyal customer would at least get a little extra above and beyond help.Maybe Im wrong or being selfish and he is right for not trying to help. Ill let you decide.When I picked my truck up this morning I told the same guy calmly that Id never be back (he knew why) and he simply said okay. I guess my business is not important enough to him to say anymore than that or he is so sure Im the one in the wrong that he doesnt care or even worse, neither of those things are happening and he just doesnt care one way or another I hope it isnt that. It is also amazing considering he knows I work in an office building next door and I will be telling everyone here this story. I was new to Austin, TX and was hard to find a good place to get my Tesla Model 3 tires rotated. If you are in the south side of Austin, TX, you should consider going to Klingemann Car Care & Tire Pros (5635 Hwy 290 West, Austin, TX 78735) for your Tesla Model 3 tire rotation. Just to be safe, I bought the Tesla Model 3 Lifting Jack pad - 4 Pack by Teslapuck and took it to the shop. Explained to them that I would like for them to use these to lift the vehicle. They didnt have any issues with using them and they worked out pretty good and charged me around $20 for the tire rotation. I would recommend using them especially if you live in south Austin, TX area and want to avoid the hike to the Tesla Service Center.I also provided the following details when I handed over the keys:Tire Rotation: Front-to-RearLug nuts Torque: 129 ft-lb for 18 stock tires w/ aero wheelsTire Pressure: 42 psiHope this helps and they were awesome about handling my vehicle. I also highly recommend them for other cars as they seem to have a good group of people working there.

My wife’s best friend thought she needed a brake job since her brakes made a funny noise the first time she used them each day. Once before she went to one of those $99 brake special places and it cost her over $600. She was nervous about where to go so I recommended Klinggman’s as an honest place to go. They don’t offer $99 brake specials because Tom explained that no legitimate shop can quote you a price before they look at the brakes. It might be less, it might be more. Instead they don’t charge you anything to pull off all 4 tires and inspect your brakes. When my friend got her report they said the brakes could go a year or two more before anything needed to be done. The squeak she was hearing first thing was normal. It stopped squeaking when the brakes warmed up. No charge! I highly recommend Klinggman’s for anyone looking for an honest repair shop.

My family has been going to this Klingemann’s for 15+ years. We have taken a dozen cars there between our 5 person family. I went off to college and realized auto shops weren’t all like Klingemann’s. Being a young female, so many auto shops tried to take advantage of me, trying to tell me my car absolutely needed things it definitely didn’t. Klingemann never once behaved this way. They are honest and kind. They don’t try to deceive you or up sell. Now, being a female in my mid-20’s, I don’t think I’ll go anywhere else.Additionally, my best friend had a terrible used car buying experience. Carmax sold her a terrible car that was definitely not checked or maintained. Klingeman wrote her a statement for her unavoidable lawsuit stating all the problems with the car that the dealership had to have known about. They took care of her when another auto company was trying to take advantage. Again, can’t say enough good things about Klingemann’s.
