    This email is different than what you have on file, but I wanted to get this out as soon as I could. After having axles replaced, that go into the transmission, at another facility, on Superbowl Sunday, one fell out and I was stuck and blocking traffic at an intersection. The car would not move at all. When the tow company put my car on his truck all the transmission fluid drained out. I had no idea what or why, but thought for sure my transmission was dead. Once I got my car to Jose at AAMCO he assured me they would be able to diagnose the problem and get me back on the road as soon as possible. And they did.First Jose is very personable and kind. He is very knowledgeable about the transmissions and the whole engine of the car. And he has been there for a very long time, which says a lot about the company he works for. So he put me at ease about what could be wrong, and reassured me that they would fix my problem, he was absolutely right. They diagnosed the problem, fixed the axle that had come out, replaced all the transmission fluid. He had my car back to me fixed in a matter of hours.I would highly recommend this AAMCO to everyone that is needing any kind of transmission help.     The only place in town I trust with my pride and joy. I have been restoring my Blazer for two years and they do just the best work ever. They treat my truck like it was their own and stand behind their work. I recommend them to anyone that needs any kind of work done.

    Fix the car OK, but very expensive. (Labor rate $165 an hour and extreme mark up on parts.) There was a big problem understanding how to work on the new computer controlled cars. Advice is stick to driving old cars that you or any mechanic can understand. Unless you are the one percent (multimillionaire) better learn auto mechanics or wind up in the poor house real quick.

    I was from out of town and brought my old 96 Yukon for service two times. The first was diagnosed as a loose connection with the cam shaft sensor. They charged me the diagnostic fee and could have scammed me BUT they DIDNT. The second time was weeks later after traveling close to 3000 miles, I had a major leak in the transmission cooling lines. The roads across America are rough! They repaired it and I was able to continue on with my trip. Thank you, Jose and AAMCO!

    Its my second go round with Jose and the team. This time I was riding down Burnet getting onto 183 when my engine falls out of the bottom of my car smashing the timing cover and breaking an axel. I have to get this done fast b/c i have shared custody and need my car. They got it done in 2 days 500 bucks under the estimate b/c they found something they thought was broken was actually only dirty, so they DID THE RIGHT AND ETHICAL THING THAT SAVED ME MONEY AND COST THEM MONEY. Theres a skill, speed, and humanity about this shop that has won my repeat business as well as a justly deserved 5 star review.

    Wowwww were Jose and Richard a blessing!!!! He understands engines, transmissions, and everything about how a car runs and operates like a doctor does the human body.He is literally a car doctor.I highly recommend taking in your vehicle to this location for the most trusted, accurate, and expert diagnostic you can get for your vehicle.They also work with you with payment plans and are financially flexible, but you definitely get what you pay for.They are also quick and prompt with your repairs, minimizing your costs for rentals or temporary Transporation which was a huge convenience for me.I will be taking my car to Jose from now on for anything and everything.

    I was completely amazed by the service I received here. Jose and his team were fantastic. We were having what we thought were transmission issues and had taken our vehicle to a shop closer to our house. But they couldn’t figure out the problem so I called this location. The phone was promptly answered, and I received excellent customer service from the beginning. I explained to Jose the issue we were having and he listened and asked questions and really made me feel heard. I know a little about cars but he was never condescending or short with me. He understood that this was a difficult situation as this is our only vehicle both for our family and my husband’s work. Jose made time in his schedule to get our transmission in and worked quickly to try and get us answers. I have rum my own stores in customer service industries and I hold a business degree and the service at this shop is above and beyond. I’m really so impressed with Jose and his team. Positive, efficient, and friendly. I will recommend them to everyone I know and they’ve got a forever customer in me.

    I would definitely recommend this Ammco location. Took my truck in for a transfer case repair and for an unknown transmission issue. They were able to track down the issue and get the wire harness fixed in a timely manner and now my transmission and 4wd works like it should. What I also really liked is that Jose had great communication and gave me updates. I can tell he really cares about his customers and his shop along with the quality of the repairs. I will definitely be taking my truck here again if I ever need anymore work done.

    We have used AAMCO on Burnet Rd in Austin for years with every car. Jose and his team are the best. I have towed my car from Waco and San Marcos to his location, because I trust their work.We had a warranty issue and had to use the car’s dealership to fix it. I took my wife’s car to Jose for a standard oil change and The AAMCO crew discovered the dealership Did Not Connect the Brake system Correctly. I couldn’t believe it. They are thorough with all of the details, and it makes a difference on my family’s safety, time and financial efficiency. We highly recommend this AAMCO.

    They have hired an auto mechanic who is great. His name is Geoff. I took my truck there as the knock sensors needed to be replaced. He did the job. On the way home my check engine light came back on. It turned out it was the knock sensors, again. Geoff took my truck back and got it right. He told me he tore the top of my engine apart three more times before eliminating everything and finding out that he got a defective part from his wholesaler. Upon that he installed a new part, gave me my truck back, and no more knock sensor problems. Thank You, Geoff!

    I had a check engine light come on during a 16 hour road trip. After making it home I took it to Firestone who said I needed to take it to the dealership, but still charged $107 for a diagnostic check. The dealership couldn’t get me in until the next week and said it would take 1-6 days to repair. A friend told me about the AAMCO on Burnet and they let me drop it off that day and fixed it perfect the next. No more check engine light and I was treated very well. I will have all my future repairs done here.

    Kia Service told me that I needed a $4,000 transmission, but the parts for a 2009 Sportage are not made anymore. I just need to buy a new car. AAMCO told me I only needed a sensor $600 for parts and labor. Car runs great now. Thanks for being honest.

    Jose, Customer Service Manager, made my horrible car accident experience a very pleasant one on his end. He went above and beyond his call of duty and compensated for the lack of ANY customer service on the end of my insurance company.I have never in all my adult years EVER experienced such a pleasant and professional interaction when it came to dealing with my vehicle. My car was even returned to me when he promised it would. Ive never heard of such a thing!Despite the entire ordeal, Jose always had me leave with a smile and made me remember that things couldve been worse. His impeccable customer service goes without saying and he should be commended and promoted. We always hear the bad things and we never hear the good so I wanted to make sure to take the time to write this so the public reads this as I highly recommend Jose Berenguel and his AAMCO establishment.     Great experience. these guys are genuine! Jose was profssional, well spoken and informative. Richard the mechanic took the time to troubleshoot and drive around in the car with me then made repairs flawlessly. He eloquently and clearly explained the cause. Thanks Richard! My car runs better after Aamco than it did prior to when the problems started. No kidding. I will be using Aamco at the Burnet location as my primary shop. They are *very* knowledgable and work on much more than just transmissions. Got the alternator replaced and Richard threw in a throttle body flush for free!. They are good, honest--the real deal.     I had another mechanic install a wheel bearing in my car. When I got it back they told me I needed to get my transmission checked because it was still making a grinding noise. The noise was pretty bad and I dont know much about cars to I took it to AAMCO on Burnet Rd. They inspected my car and found that the other mechanic knocked the dust cover off of the wheel and that was causing the noise. They fixed it for free. You dont see that these days. Ill get all my work done there because they do everything and they are honest. I had prepared myself to have to spend 3000 or more, and they didnt charge me a cent. Great people.

    I brought in my old car for a transmission flush on the recommendation of a different mechanic. AAMCO staff member Jose explained what he was going to do beforehand, kept me informed as he worked on it, and ultimately advised me that, based on what he saw, the new fluid was not necessary and could actually be harmful in the long run (As I understood it, the detergent in the new fluid could become an abrasive). After consulting me, he put the old fluid back in and sent me off free of charge. I was impressed that he had advocated for what was best for the car-- even though it would mean that there would be no income to show for the 30-40 minutes he spent working on it.

    I had taken my car to the dealership and was told my car would be $7,000 to fix. The guys at Aamco diagnosed my car and got it fixed up for half the price. It’s running better than ever and my car was well-taken care of while at Aamco. At pick up the lights, AC and radio were off, the gas tank was filled up, in addition to all the check engine lights and leaks fixed! Great job Aamco and many thanks to Jose who worked with me patiently to diagnose.

    Jose and John are great at this AAMCO on Burnet! I was at another shop and they didnt follow the procedures when completing my transmission fluid flush. The overage of any fluid added should be checked and drained at a specified temperature. I lost trust in the other shop based on the way they dealt with me. I called Jose and he and John followed the procedures and removed the overage of fluid added by the other shop to make sure my transmission wasnt effected and were great hosts at their shop and never made me feel uncomfortable for wanting to make sure my car was taken care of properly. Also, they didnt charge me for helping me out. I will see them for my next transmission fluid flush, for sure!!!

    Jose and his staff do an amazing job. The only place I will get my car worked on. The transmission builders are the best in Austin. They are a very good shop and highly recommend, for complete car care. The mechanics are very careful to not damage the car while disassembly and assembly.

    I went to AAMCO after having my cars 40,000 mile check up at the dealership. On the way to pay out, the service man said my brakes probably needed repair soon and why didnt I bring it back next week. I did not want to drive all the way out to the dealership again so I looked on the internet and read reviews of various brake repair places near home. I took my car to AAMCO on Burnet because the reviews were so good. They lived up to all their positive reviews. I was told my brakes really didnt need repair for another 10,000 miles. I really appreciated the honesty and will return when they do need work. Everyone was so nice and professional and I did not get charged for the inspection.

    This review is long over due. I have taken my vehicles elsewhere only for location convenience, but after my experience of faulty repairs from these shops, I realized it is worth driving the distance to AAMCO on Burnet Rd. in Austin.Jose is friendly and does not try to sell me a repairI don’t need. He keeps me posted when a delay occurs, and provides information regarding my questions. He doesn’t rush me into making a decision immediately like other shops.Also, they honor their warranty work, and don’t mislead you to purchase a non related repair.I do have my favorite mechanics at AAMCO. I use John for all my repairs on my 1993 Cutlass Oldsmobile, and 2005 Chevy Impala.When it comes to transmission work I use Rick.I could go on and on with positive comments. If you are tired of dealing with over priced and faulty repairs, my suggestion is give them a try.

    Chose to recieve service at AAMCO after recieving a second opinion on my 2006 F150. I spoke to Jose who clearly explained the issues on my truck and how to best proceed. I was very satisfied that they addressed the oil leaks and the screeching starter that had been happening for seven years. They also rebuilt my transmission, the main reason for my visit.     We have had issues with our car for about a little over a year. Until we saw the AAMCO sign went in talk to Jose explained what problems we were having, and he said let us check it out.     Jose is awesome! I was recommended by my cousin Joey. After they got in there they discovered that a+ transmission specialist failed to put the wiring harness and the torque control switch which couldve burned up the transmission. A+ failed to stand by there work but Aamco came to the rescue! Thank you so much for your great work. We were so happy have honest and quality work performed!!! Youre awesome!!

    I was driving into Austin from out of town and had an issue with a rattling noise coming from my car. I knew what the issue was as it had already been diagnosed by the Austin Subaru dealership except they did not have any available appointments to correct the problem before I was scheduled to leave Austin. Jose was extremely professional and gave me an idea of the “worst case scenario”. When all was said and done, he resolved the rattling noise and removed the loose part that was causing the noise. Gave me advice on how to proceed when I returned home and since it did not require a lot of time he generously did not charge me to remove the loose part.

    Ive been going to Jose and his guys for over 3 years now for everything from oil changes to major repairs (catalytic converter, brakes, radiator, and more). I couldnt be happier. Jose is very adept at explaining exactly what needs to be done on the vehicle and in laymans terms (Im a car idiot). During repairs, if they notice something else wrong with my vehicle, they always bring it to my attention plus give me a realistic estimate of when it should be repaired.I love these guys and doubt Ill go anywhere else anytime soon.

    I took my previous sequoia here. I felt like they did only the necessary repairs and Jose even spoke to my father on the phone about what was going on and why they were doing said repairs. Being a women going to a mechanic can be a nightmare, so glad to find an honest mechanic in the big city. Continue to take my newer car here and order parts through them for miscellaneous repairs (can the construction in Austin be over already?). Parts usually are in the next day. So also convenient for people who rely on their cars heavily.

    I needed the 12v battery in the back of my hybrid replaced, I had planned to do it myself. The cheapest I could find the battery retail was $300.00, I called them and for $311.00 they changed the battery and towed my vehicle to their shop. I had my car back the next day, I will be using this shop for all other future repairs. Cant beat their pricing!

    Jose and his mechanics are the best. The mechanics show me the parts that need to be repaired, especially if its something major. Jose works hard to make sure Im getting the best prices. Ive mechanic shopped and have found that Aamco is often cheaper and their quality is excellent. I suggest that you go in and see them....they make car repairs a little less painful.

    WiFi password is Alamar10, for anyone else who is shy.Updated review: So I went back in person to get a copy of the inspection itself. I spoke with the desk guy (Jose, I presume) and the mechanic who did the inspection (Daniel, I believe), who had both seen my original review (below).We discussed the break pads. They did note that there was 3mm left, but said that brake pads start with 9mm, so they calculated 30% left. A quick Google search says they usually start with 12mm (which would put mine at 25%) and should be replaced around 3 or 4mm. So, difference in opinion and products.We also discussed the AC compressor. They said specifically it was the bearing that was failing, and they could tell by the noise via stethoscope. The belt mentioned was the serpentine belt, and my understanding from their explanation is the compressor doesnt engage with the serpentine belt when the AC is not on.I did ultimately get a copy of the inspection and Jose treated me like a person, not a car or sale, so now Im a happy camper. Im still going to do my due diligence and get more opinions and quotes before dropping ~$1500, but I do feel good about how they handled the situation and my review.Original review: I found a coupon for a free 36 point inspection at this location. So I called, asking if appointments were required and how long itd take. They said no appointments were necessary, and about an hour. So I take it in on a Wednesday morning without an appointment and they said theyd get to it that afternoon. That didnt work for me since it was half a day instead of an hour, so I made an appointment to return the following Monday.Fortunately when I went back on Monday, the inspection only took about an hour. They correctly identified a non-working window button and front tires that needed to be replaced. However, they did not identify low coolant or nearly gone (3mm left) front brake pads.I was also told I needed a new AC compressor, and thats what was causing the noise. At first the front desk guy said that a failed AC compressor would lead to a broken belt (which belt they didnt say) and the car not moving. Last I checked, AC wasnt tied to the car going or not. Then later it sounded like a failed AC compressor would lead to life sucking, but the car still being driveable. For the record, I have zero AC symptoms and no sound changes between AC being on or off.Im disappointed to say that I never got a copy of the inspection. All I got was a written estimate for the front tires, window button, and AC compressor. I got the estimate emailed to me and emailed back asking for the actual inspection, but never received a response.

    I took my vehicle and my wifes vehicle as well and they are quick and efficient. They really look at the root of the problem on your vehicle and always give you a good price and willing to do payments. Fortunately we did not need the payment option but we now know that there is no reason to procrastinate on vehicle repairs anymore.     My experience here was wonderful I came in as a young lady not knowing what was wrong with my care Most places see a female and think they can get over or just tell them anything but the mechanics did a great job and the manager jose made sure i was a happy customer when i left. I recommend anyone to come to aamco and get the care their car deserves. If Jose can make sure im in good hands he can do the same for you.

    Normally I dont write reviews but I had a really good experience with AAMCO that I felt I should share it. Had AC problems and summer time in Texas, you dont want to get stuck with a bad AC. These guys fixed it and fixed it good. Its freezing in the car now.They also alerted me about some other issues with my engine and took care of that too. I will come back for more work later on.

    I took my 1995 Dodge Ram 2500 in for and oil change and a/c check. They told me my Freon was low and I needed to recharge it. They let me know that even after they recharged it, there could still be something else wrong. They did the work and I got a call saying my a/c was blowing ice cold, without any additional work. They were kind and fast and informative. I will be taking my truck back there in the future for other repairs. Thanks AAMCO!!
