Upon searching for a mechanic shop closer to home I google shops after I was disappointed with a previous mechanic shop on cartwright. I called Aamco and transmission on 5707 hwy 6 in Missouri city after reading the reviews. I was pleased with the reviews had the vehicle towed to there location. After about 5 different trips thought everything was fix and I would have no more issues. I took the vehicle there starting in June. They staff was very friendly. I had to take my vehicle back 5 different times. Finally When I got the vehicle back which I thought was my last time having the issue of the vehicle not starting boy was in for a surprise. It wasnt 1 week after getting the car back the vehicle wouldnt start again. I had the car towed to auto zone after road side services came out and said it was my battery. I went back to check the guy at auto zone checked and said it was my starter had the vehicle towed back to the aamco this morning after 11:30 am spoke with the Manager Big O he said they would put in the starter at no charge at of that is fine and well but today was my grand daughters birthday and having my vehicle not working after 5 previous visit is very irritating for me. We had plans after school with some of her friends to go bowling had to canceled because my vehicle was not ready until tomorrow after 10 am. I dont believe in the future will return for services.

Excellent and fast service the day I turned in my car on Sunday to have my Alternator replaced, headlights replaced, and car belts replaced because my car was squeaking. ASE certified techs rebuilt the transmission on my 2001 Ford Ranger and just completed a BG Transmission Flush on my 2011 Ford Edge. The concluded that one of the sensors was picking up a false diagnosis. After 1 hour of their time my BILL CAME TO $0.00. I need to take my truck in for a check up they replace my transmission at the beginning of the year and I told him that the dealership told me that the transmission holder was loose he said they don’t cover that I could take it in to see what you’re talking about I seriously hope they do cover that because nothing was wrong with my transmission holder prior to thisBut It’s too soon to tell I haven’t gone there for the service this was via telephoneSo since this post I called to see if they were open and it was a Saturday the person that answered the phone says they were going to close at 10 because her mechanic was leaving OK I guess it happens today I drive over there because when I check the website it says that they’re open and I get there and they’re not open so somebody needs to update their website informationOk 3rd update Big O called me made an appointment for me reassured me that he would take care of me he even called me on Friday at work to make sure that I was going to go. Get there Saturday morning 8 o’clock I tell him what the dealership told me he took me inside underneath my truck and there’s nothing wrong the transmission mount is fine absolutely fine he even went as far as pointing out more things that the multi point inspection from the dealership should’ve picked up like the fact that there’s a small leak in the radiator and that the radiator fluid is extremely low in addition to the power steering fluid being low I don’t understand how this could happen what is the multi point inspection for and very grateful to Mr. O for taking the time and showing me what everything looks like at what everything is because I don’t know Peter from Paul when it comes to vehicles he took the time to show me and he was even kind enough and he didn’t have to I offered to pay and he said no ! And topped off the fluids. I am very appreciative and grateful for him and that PK that he gave me definitely helps me feel more confident when I go and talk to the dealership on Monday regarding these allegations of Extreme wear and loose mountBig O mechanic informed me it is not recommended to change only one shock absorber that they come in pairs they should’ve done both of them and they didn’t they only did one. It is very difficult to find somebody you trust when it comes to your vehicle ,at least for me it is !so grateful to Mr. big O I will recommend him every Chance I get .Thank you!I have added the information the dealership gave us regarding the SO called recommendation of serviceI needed for my truck.

Was quoted almost $800 by A-Plus Transmissions to remove a trans-pan bolt that was over torqued/stuck. Came to AAMCO and they were able to remove the same bolt and complete a trans fluid change in a couple hours for $50. Great customer service on top of that too.

The week of Thanksgiving, my car started having issues. I took it to a shop that my family has used for 30 plus years. They told me that my ECS cable was wet and not to worry; itll dry off and be okay. I dont know anything about cars but because I trusted this person, I went with it. Later, the problem occurred again and when I brought it in, they said it was the transmission. So, I bought I used transmission and had it installed. It was roughly around Christmas time when the guy said it was good to pick up. When I test drove it, the problem continued to persist so I sought a second opinion. I went to AAMCO and after running a diagnostic test, they determined that my ECS cable needed to be replaced to determine if that was the problem or the transmission. After replacing it, turns out the transmission I bought from the other shop was not good (which they noted that it didnt look to be in the best of shape at AAMCO). So I went back to the old shop and asked for my original transmission back but they sold it to the place that they bought the used transmission at. At this point, Im just devastated at the money lost, time lost, and just broken inside. When I took the used transmission back, I got a partial refund and my original transmission back. When I brought it back to AAMCO, they looked at it and noticed that it had been tampered with and after taking a closer look, they discovered that my original transmission had been disassembled and parts along with gears were missing. I thought I was broken and felt defeated before, this bit of news broke me to a cellular level. At this point, its late January and AAMCO provided me options of what I can do other than selling my car and buying a new one. I decided to have my transmission rebuilt because a new car (or even used), was not an option. Id already lost $600 to the old shop. AAMCO rebuilt my transmission and gave me a generous discount for the services I got. Finally, I got my car back in working order in February. I am so thankful to them for everything they did and for Big O for helping me and working with me. I highly recommend them because they were AWESOME.

I called Big O and told him my car symptoms. He was able to tell me exactly what the issue was. I had never been there or met him but he sent me a tow truck on request. Within 24 hours, he confirmed the diagnosis and looked for an even more cost effective repair option. When it wasnt going to work, he called back to let me know before proceeding. It was ready for pick up less than 24 hours later. GREAT Service and the location in set up for safety and social distancing. Best experience, ever!

This was my first experience with AAMCO, but it will not be my last. Big ‘O’ and his team are amazing. They took a couple days to troubleshoot my car problems. During this time, they tried to work with AutoZone for parts, checking for warranties. Unfortunately, my parts were not under warranty. Therefore I took them the parts, they installed, and they resumed troubleshooting. All the while, nothing was charged to me…… No other shop I know will install parts for you without a charge. The same occurred when they informed me that my drum shoes needed to be replaced. I had the shoes, but had not replaced them… They took my shoes and installed them for free. The service is AMAZING, the prices are fair and they only charge for what is agreed upon by them and you. Not to mention the amount of work they will do for free (related to the ongoing work) while working on your vehicle. I highly recommend this AAMCO location to anyone. This recommendation is based on the customer service and quality of service. I have never had a better experience at a service center.

Excellent service, highly recommended! I discovered this repair shop after another shop did a poor job replacing the transmission on my moms car, that resulted in all kinds of problems. We brought the car to this AAMCO, and they were able to bring the ailing car back to life. We have been taking our vehicles to Big O ever since.Big O is very honest, caring and helpful. He even replaced the headlight bulb on my chevy for free after other shops were charging upwards of $100!! Most importantly his team always takes the time to get the job done.Ill continue to take my vehicles to Big O and his team as long as Im the Houston area, Ive never experienced such wonderful customer service at any other repair shop.

I would highly recommend AAMCO in Missouri City. I have used AAMCO numerous times for various car repairs on my 2001 Oldsmobile Alero. I first went here based on its location to my work, but have kept coming back due to their great service. Each time I have been very satisfied. In addition, I have been able to park my car overnight without any issue, they have removed a plastic bag stuck to the bottom of my car for free, and have even checked my car out for any issue at no charge. I always get prompt and professional service every time. Because they have earned our trust, we have started bringing my husband’s car here even though he works on the other side of the Houston area. Big O and the crew are awesome! I came to the shop to find out if my car was having transmission problems. I set an early morning appointment and there was no wait upon arriving for the service. They wanted to know as many details as possible to properly diagnose the issue. They test drove the car while I was in the passenger seat so I could explain the issues that I had been experiencing and afterwards took a sample of the transmission fluid. They showed me the fluid in person and gave me other suggestions to fix as to why my car was acting the way it was. All of that was done for no charge! I really appreciate them for being patient and attentive with me and my car! Thanks so much guys!!

There are not enough good things I can say about Big-O and his crew there at AAMCO in Missouri City. I have taken my truck there for everything from an oil change, to brakes, to a complete tune-up.My truck was having some misfiring trouble and I took it to Helfman Ford in Sugar Land since this is where I purchased the vehicle some years back. I was discouraged to find out that I needed a new engine and this was probably not worth doing to my 05 F-150. They were encouraging me to go ahead and trade the truck in and look for another vehicle to take home since the cost of the engine was very high.I took my F-150 to AAMCO because I remember having a great experience there with a rebuild of my older 01 Dodge Ram transmission. Upon dropping my truck off, Big-O let me know that they would contact me before any work was done. A couple hours later he informed that a simple tune-up would do the job, and you better believe thats all the truck needed to get back up to where it was.I appreciated their honesty so much that I have since taken my truck here for brakes and rotors, and an oil change. While I was there for the brake change, I had informed Big-O that i was smelling gas every now and then through the A/C, after the tune up. He informed me that it was most likely a spark plug that was a little off of torque from the tune-up. New brakes, and tune-up, and the F-150 is running like a beauty. Big-O even made sure to call three days after the work was done to make sure the breaks felt good and the smell of gas was gone.An absolutely great experience. A++++ shop.

Wow....Just Wow!! My son had a headlight out and I had zero time to deal with this problem. I called Big O who had recently put in a transmission in another one of our trucks. He said bring it on by and I was there within a half hour. He personally went out and replaced the bulb and then cleaned the headlight that was fuzzy!! The charge for this amazing and unbelievable customer service???? Absolutely zero.....he did not charge me a penny. I am so grateful to have found these awesome mechanics and will undoubtably be back again and again because they are amazing and I have a lot of cars!!!

They take the time to answer questions, and make sure I am clear with my concerns and options, and have the ability to make repairs without hurting my finances! They have the ability to identify other areas of concern or potential areas of concern so they can fix the problems and get it done to keep me going without unexpected mishaps. My 2005 Explorer transmission went out and had to have it replaced. Big O and Mike were great after determining what was wrong they put in a new transmission. They guys are caring and want to make sure that the customer come first and that they are satisfied with the work that has been done to the vehicle. Big O and Mike are really nice and I consider them friends. I would recommend them to anyone who needs to have their transmission looked at.

These folks are the best! I called for an appointment because theyre always busy (theyre that good!). When I got there I was greeted by Big O. He and his staff were great. I needed to get a fluid exchange and a new filter. I thought Id be there for a while so I went to a restaurant for breakfast. I came back within an hour and shortly after I got back they were done.Heres the part that impressed me the most. No BS! They didnt give me a song and dance about all the things I needed to make it work properly, didnt try to tack on charges that make no sense, and gave me the best service Ive ever gotten from any automotive shop. The price was even impressive at $129.00 out the door. Tax included! Other places I checked wanted up to the neighborhood of $400.00 for the same service. Some not even including the filter. I have over 130,000 miles on my SUV and they told the truth about nothing being wrong with the transmission but that I could use a tune-up. Thats it. Another lady was there and found out that some work done by another shop used parts from a salvage yard in her transmission. Again truth! They didnt try to sell her things she didnt need, just told her the situation and the alternatives so she could make up her own mind about what would work best for her. Bottom line, if you need transmission service whether minor or serious, Big O and his guys will give you the best at the best price. Their location is a little awkward though. Theyre on Hwy 6 but its kinda behind the Enterprise Rental Car place. Its worth the trip.

We were out visiting friends over the holiday season when our 04 Chevy Trailblazer decided not to change gears and died. Being a distance from home and having never had to deal with this before, we really werent sure how to proceed. So we relied on what we could find near by and the reviews we found on google. We are so glad we did!! When we called, we spoke to the manager, Greg. After describing the problem, he arranged for a wrecker and a tow to get us to the shop. He quickly dealt with some ongoing issues and then got right to us. He described what he thought it sounded like, and he was right. It was NOT time to replace the transmission. The job was actually going to run us about 10% of what we thought we might be facing! Talk about a great way to start the new year. The place is clean, there was coffee available, a clean restroom and very friendly service!Had we been able to drive it home that night would have made this an EXCELLENT visit, but in all fairness, we didnt get there until after three on New Years Eve.

The shop manager Greg was not only knowledgable, but also as honest of a mechanic I have known since owning a car. I was kept well informed and felt as if a friendship was created out of this tragic car problem I had. The car was ready when promised and I believe that AAMCO has given me better than expected service. I was duped by a guy before going to AAMCO and Greg saved me over $2000 by me not having to deal with a shady mechanic. I will definitely recommend and revisit this establishment.

Great experience. Car wouldn’t start, tried jumping. Car started next day and I took to AAMCO for an inspection and repair. They inspected and didn’t find any issues with the vehicle and didn’t charge me anything for looking it over.Turns out that the unlock button on the alarm remote stopped working, so the alarm was active and wouldn’t allow the car to start; have a replacement remote on the way and hopefully it corrects the issue.AAMCO (off Hwy 6 in Sugar Land) earned my trust with that first experience and I’ll take my vehicle there with any issues from now on.

AAMCO is amazing. They are an honest company and they are extremely knowledgeable. I have a Volkwagen Jetta 2012 that was experiencing transmission problems. I brought my car to 2 different shops before AAMCO - both told me to just replace the transmission ($2,300 quote). I didnt feel that replacing my transmission was necessary.. the car was driving fine.. so I brought it to Biggo - the agent for AAMCO - and told him the situation. He did a full analysis and turns out I had a carbon build -up and it was a merely $179 fix. He actually took the time to diagnose the real problem, and saved me hundreds of dollars. He could have easily told me the same thing as the others (as I already disclosed to him when I brought the car in that they advised I replace the transmission). Instead, he took the time to discover the real problem and did honest business. If you have an issue with your car - go to AAMCO and ask for Biggo. I promise you will not regret it!

Our 2005 Honda Accords transmission went out while driving on the freeway. Thank God we did not wreck. It was towed to the AAMCO location in Missouri City Texas. Our transmission was severely damaged and this was a rare happening. However, we were left at ease to know that AAMCO said it was repairable and they would have the car up and running under what the wrecker guy and Honda said it would cost.Their service is excellent and their staff is phenomenal. Our car is up and running. Then unfortunately, our other 07 Honda Accord had the same issue. It is currently being repaired by the same crew at this location. I would trust no other for they know what to do and do not misquote.My opinion of Honda should be left for lawyers as this issue with Accords is a widespread problem

My rebuilt transmission wasnt functioning properly. Big Os team diagnosed the problem; the shop that installed the transmission intentionally disabled part of the function to keep from having to replace the unit they installed. AAMCO replaced the incompatible parts and my truck accelerates and downshifts fluidly. I plan to drive it another 20 years. Hindsight: I called AAMCO when shopping for the rebuild. I should have chosen them then.

My car was struggling to start so I thought it was my battery. I took it to Autozone and NTB and they both said I had a bad alternator according to their testing machine. I took it to this Aamco and they said the alternator was fine and that the battery needed to be replaced which I had under warranty. Im not giving the 5 stars for telling me what the true problem was as I expect this from a quality repair shop. Im giving the 5 star for the customer service. Big O went the extra mile to call autozone down the street and ensure they had a new battery ready for me. He also explained/showed me why the alternator was still good for my own understanding and followed up with me the next day. Hard to get customer service like that these days. Mike checked and only found a fluid leak, which caused the transmission solenoids not working properly. After fixed the leak, everything went back to normal. A simple fix saved thousands of dollars. Took my 2005 Ford Freestar there because it would not shift out of first gear. I had already replaced two recommended parts myself because I have a trust issue with Mechanics but to no avail!. The AAMCO techs diagnosed the issue (Throttle Position Sensor) and replaced the part to fix my vehicle the same day at a minimal cost. I was expecting the worst! These guys have renewed my trust! This Aamco is a truck saver. We had our diesel f350 super duty at another shop for transmission repairs. They took the transmission out 5 times and tried to fix the problem. They could not fix the problem. Took it to the Missouri City Aamco with Big Os determination and the skills of his crew, they were able to fix our Truck and get it back to a great truck again. It shifts better than it did when we bought it. I will recommend Big O and his crew to anyone needing transmissi9n work. Great and fast service with our transmission problems. I have had two transmissions repaired there now. Both times I was informed about what was wrong, how long it would take and the cost.
