I came home from being out of town for a week to no heat. I called after 5:00 and was able to get an appointment for the next day. In the meantime, Brian came by and brought space heaters and got the unit going just enough to make it through the night. Irving showed up promptly for the appointment the following day. He was very friendly and knowledgeable. He took the time to explain what was wrong and the process for fixing it. I would highly recommend this company!

I don’t usually leave reviews but I know that many times we dive into these comments to judge if our money is worth spending with a service so here’s my true opinion. It’s hard to find true to their word service now and days. More and more businesses push quantity over quality, which can be apparent from the initial conversation at times. I believe that good service starts from the initial greet at first call, to ensuring customer is satisfied after work has completed. I’ve dealt with many contractors and services in the past years not just from a personal perspective, but a professional one as well so I tend to observe these details, as I feel they are essential for customer satisfaction. I’ve had the pleasure of using Winkelmans Heating and Air Conditioning service 3-4 times now. My first experience with the company was me walking into their place of business and asking to buy a part to get my heater working. Many places that provide service frown upon this as their revenue is reliant on the service call but Mr Brian and his front desk attendant assisted me with no hesitation. What made me take the time to write this was my experience with them yesterday. I have a tenant with a heater unit that wouldn’t turn on. I tried doing basic troubleshooting but yielded no results. Due to knowing winter conditions in the next few days I called Winkelmans for a service call. What impacted me was the initial response. When I stated my problem I received concern as if my problem was their problem. The service clerk walked me through what troubleshooting I’ve done and if I had tried this or that. To me this is shocking as a helping hand has stopped being a standard in business unless money is put up front. After not being successful she realized it was past my experience level and she told me to hang on and see if she could contact her service team. Not 5 minutes later I received a call that she was able to get one of their team service to give me a hand. After 5 minutes from this call it receive a text with confirmation that our service technician (Irving) was on his way, with a picture and a brief personal description of the service tech. 20 minutes later the tech arrives and greets me with as much attentive response and assistance as I’ve received from the initial call. I walk him through the steps I’ve done and he starts doing his thing, which I appreciated that he was taking his time explaining to me what he was seeing to pass on a bit of knowledge around. It didn’t take him 15-20 minutes to diagnose replace parts and get the system up and running. Once he was done he creates his work order report from his truck. He explains to me in detail the cost and walks me through payment. Once transaction was complete, he then went back inside to ensure during this time everything was still functioning and that I was satisfied. This entire experience was very pleasant and I appreciated the attention they place in this company. When you have people reflecting these values from the first call to finish of service, it’s apparent that their is true core values being represented and permeated through to the team. I really enjoyed this service transaction; an experience that could easily ruined my day was turned into a very positive and pleasant experience. Irving came out and from the moment he introduced himself always had a smile answered any questions I might have, explained what and how to know if I had a issue and how to contact them immediately if anything arises and I am not sure about things. He checked the venting to ensure it was properly vented as that was one of my concerns. While asking a few questions he gave me a great deal of information as well as what could possibly be done to help my concerns. Winklemans has came out 2 times now and both technicians have been exceptional. I highly recommend if you want someone honest, professional, and willing to be patient and help you figure out if you have an issue and how big. We bought a new house in the Northwest panhandle of Texas. Going into the house we knew wed have to replace the AC in the upstairs and downstairs completely. We had several companies come out and take a look to get us an estimate. Winkelmans offered us the best deal. Despite offering the lowest price they had the longest warranty, and the technicians, Irving, Josh, and their crew were prompt and attentive to their work. Weve had the system in for one month now and havent had any problems whatsoever with the system itself. One of the kids left the dog bed in front of the air intake and the system froze up, that was completely our fault but again Irving and Josh came out, found the problem, and carefully explained to the whole family what had happened and how we could avoid it in the future. I want to say, Winklemen H & A has been such a blessing for my household and family over the past several years. This year in particular, I signed up for their special package membership club, which includes two service days, one summer and one winter for maintence and check up for my system, plus a cost savings if any replacements are needed. Josh, David, and Isaiah are very good at what they do. In the summer, Josh showed up. He was personalble, professional, and knowledgabe. He tuned up my system, cleaned it all out and got me ready for the summer. Checked all the settings and levels. Saved me from my air conditing unit going out in the heat of the summer. Then, I had an additional visit from David, at a later time. I thought I needed a repair/replacement. David evaluated my system and found that I did not. It was ethical and honest that he told me it was not absolutely necessary at this time. I was so appreciative because it saved me money! Then, I got my winter service maintence visit. Josh and his brother Isaiah both showed up. They were so kind and professional. David also came to assist. They got to work and found that my gas heating unit wasnt functioning at its highest level. Come to find out it was a problem with the gas meter in the alley. They were able to contact the City gas department, which came out promptely and replaced the regulator on the gas meter, which corrected the issue in my gas heating unit. If they were out for money, they could have easily not gone that extra step and just replaced a part, costing me additional money. Come to find out, it was no extra charge for me, and all this was already paid for with my purchase of the yearly maintence plan, which is definitely worth the money and investment. They checked all levels in all my units, cleaned out all the units, and now I am toasty and warm in my home this winter with confidence that my HVAC will continue to work without interruption. And, if it doesnt, I know they are a phone call away. Thank you Winkleman, for employing excellent repairmen who I appreciate. You have my business.

I have had Winkelman Heating and Air install 3 central heat and air systems. One was for my previous home. They arrived on time and worked diligently to finish the job in one day. They were courteous and professional and cleaned up better than I could have. We loved the a/c and heater system and our electric bill decreased by almost a hundred dollars a month due to the new system. Our propane bill also decreased drastically.The second unit Winkelmans installed was at my elderly fathers home. Again, the work was done very professionally in one days time. My dad was treated like gold in spite of the fact that he called the install crew three times during their lunch break just to see what they were doing.After the system was installed we called Winkelman and told them that my dad could not see the numbers or hot and cold indicators on the thermostat dial. Free of charge a serviceman drove more than 80 miles to install a super giant thermostat for my dad and took the time to explain to him how the thermostat worked. ( that took more than once).Last year we moved to a new house and called Winkelman. After having our choices of systems explained and deciding on which unit we wanted in one day our house was transformed from an outdated heating and air system to a wonderful, clean unit. The crew was professional and courteous. Sam, the salesman whom we spoke with before the sale, called several times to make sure we were happy with the unit and service. Once again, our electric bill dropped almost one hundred dollars a month. We are now on natural gas and not propane. Our natural gas bill last winter for a 2000 square foot house never exceeded $70 a month.There is no perfect company. Everyones experience will be different in all situations but I cannot recommend any company higher than I do Winkelmans. If you need a system and want to deal with honest, professional people call Winkelmans and at least give them a chance to treat you the way I was treated. Irving was quick to arrive, attentive and respectful of the workspace. He got to work and soon got to the heart of the matter. We are very grateful to him, since he was the one who realized the real problem we had at home, and without hesitation he gave us the necessary help to solve it. It should be noted that he did not leave until he was sure that the problem (external to his work) was solved. I definitely recommend Winkelman and would definitely use his services again.
