    I was in need of an A/C company who could respond fast as our unit was blowing warm air in 100 degree heat! I called several companies from corporations to privateers. Smithson Valley was the only ones who could come out the same day! Derek knew exactly what was wrong and was very honest about our options.After discussions with Derek you knew he was an honest business owner with integrity. We needed a new air handler as the old one (original to our home 2006) was leaking really bad. Unit was installed on the scheduled day and time that Derek promised. Him and his team got right to work and got everything completed in about 3 hours.Very fair with pricing with no trying to upsell you on anything, he took the time to educate me on questions that i had asked. I like to support local small business as much as I can and was very satisfied to have gone with Smithson Valley Services!     Smithson Valley AC did a phenomenal job! Hands-down, I would recommend them to anyoneā€¦ Whether needing a full AC unit replaced for repair parts. Their staff was over the top professional, excellent communication, and more time efficient. They came out yesterday morning 7 AM to give me a quote, and had my new AC unit replaced and installed by 3 PM yesterday afternoon.     Recently, Sept 26-27 2024, we had 2 complete heat pump systems replaced at our home by Smithson Valley Services. I got 6 different bids on this job from several large companies and smaller independent contractors. Derek, with Smithson Valley not only gave us a fair price but was very knowledgeable about the work to be performed. The men installing the units were very experienced and efficient in their work. I would recommend Smithson Valley Services to anyone in need of Air Conditioning work. I feel it is very important to acknowledge the smaller contractors in our area.

    I called I Fix It AC Company and Jon Wayne AC and went with I Fix It after they installed AC unit the unit they put in was to big for this trailer 5 days later stopped cooling came Monday and fixed freon line added freon and the next day system stopped cooling again this time cooling coil leaked because they put in damaged coil had them remove system they damaged air duct wiring and drainage pipe both companies wanted 15yr payments it was going to cost me $46000 I called Smithson Valley Services Derek came out today fixed the damage Will Fix It did for FREE and put in AC system in in 6hrs only costed $14000 and only 7yr payment plan they saved me $32000 and 8yr in payments HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM AC works great

    Our original and longtime hvac provider declined our distress call, stating that their schedule was full all weekend and that theyā€™d get to us on Monday. They werenā€™t even willing to check in with one of their technicians to see if one was possibly close by for a quick evaluation.Frustrated, stressed, HOT and late for a ballgame, we finally gave Smithson Valley Services a call. They arrived within the hour and had our unit purring like a kitten minutes later.     After the mini-split AC compressor died twice in the first year in my flower shop- (semi DIY) we decided to get a couple of bids- to replace and upsize the unit.Derek came out after hours and gave us several options (commercial vs residential) and explained the difference of each. When the bid came in- it was similar to the other bid- BUT with a MUCH better quality brand! And NO high pressure sales pitch, with The recommendation of using the less expensive option!After 3 weeks, of use, what a difference the unit has made in the shop- even with the 100ā€™ temps of this summer, the shop is very comfortable!We liked Derek and his team so much, we decided to sign up for the maintenance program for our 3 heat pumps used in the bed & breakfast.They let us know in a timely manner that they were running a little late, which was fine.What a thorough job they did!!! Derek discovered a capacitor was about to go out on one unit and took the time to explain the testing involved. Then when his assistant came out of the attic, he was able to show us an issue that had probably been missed by the previous AC company for the last 3-4 service calls!Needless to say, Smithson Valley Services, provides a phenomenal quality of service, has a high ethical standard, and takes pride in what he does.     Smithson Valley is our 3rd HVAC company in 10 years.NOTE: This comment is relative to the 1st two companies! Both tried to sell unneeded, over priced parts. As an engineer with years in the service industry, we quickly dumped both.NOTE: Comments specific to Smithson. Smithson came in behind the second one, gave us a correct assessment of the problem (Id already diagnosed it) and a fair price.Our 25 year old small upstairs unit recently surrendered to age. Smithson was here 1 business day after being called, replaced it the next day and completely cleaned up behind themselves INCLUDING in the attic.

    The entire experience was top notch, from initial phone call to completion of work. My mini split in the shop had a problem and I called for help late on a Sunday. The guys showed up the next morning and determined the issue. Their diagnosis and explanation was great.     Wow! These guys are amazing! My heater went out on Saturday right before the big cold front hit. I called them up to see if there was any chance they could help. They moved some things around in their schedule just to accommodate us. They order the parts and showed up Monday morning in the cold and had it replaced and running in 3 hrs. They even cleaned up after themselves. Absolutely incredible service and price. Saved our house from freezing and the day. I couldnt be happier!

    SHORT: Smithson Valley Services will fix it right the first time and be honest about it.LONG: I called a big name company first that made a recommendation that didnt make sense to me. When I called, Derek answered and said he wanted to be the one to do the diagnostic since it did not seem like a clear cut issue. He squeezed me into an already busy schedule, and did a very thorough diagnostic, explaining everything to me along the way. The real issue with my system isnt even close to what the big name tech told me. Not only is the repair cheaper, but more importantly its the correct repair and I wont be out twice as much l money three months from now. Derek and Smithson Valley Services have been fantastic. He will be my only call from now on. While Ive seen other companies claim to have honest and accurate values, Derek and Smithson Valley Services display them.

    I had been put of town for a couple of weeks and when I returned late on a Saturday night I discovered my AC was not working. It was over 100 degrees in the house. I called Smithson Valley Services and they came over the next morning (Sunday) and fixed it. They had the part on the truck and even replaced the filter. I was out attending my Grandsons soccer game at the time and Derek took the time to close and lock all the windows before he left. I was very happy to return to a nice cool house.     Work past hours on a already busy schedule, came in around 9:00 at night and was out of here in 30 minutes and replaced my capacitor. Couldnt be more happy and now I have my AC back running!     Well where do I start. I tried saving money when my old system went out a couple years ago, had a friend who ā€œknew a guyā€ that system had nothing but problem after problem. Fast forward a couple years it declined very fast and I had Jon Wayne, JRV home services and blue green AC come out. NOBODY had an awnser as to how to fix the unit and I was NOT wanting to replace a two year old system. I started a new round of calls to see if I could get any real answers what was wrong. I found Derek and he shot me strait. Long story short the old unit he could band aid but it was just a bad unit and installed by a novice. I went with an American standard silver series, and OMG, what a difference. After I swallowed the pillI through 5500 away a couple years ago and pulled the trigger on the new unit I couldnā€™t be happier. Heber Almendares, youā€™re a joke.     Smithson Valley AC came the same day that I called to report an issue. I called in the afternoon, and they came around 8 pm. Both technicians were kind, professional, and knowledgeable. They solved my AC issue and helped me get on their regular maintenance schedule to ensure my AC doesnā€™t get backed up or clogged and start to leak water again. There is no pressure to get on their regular maintenance schedule, so itā€™s good to know Iā€™m not bound by any contracts. Prices are reasonable, given the value and customer service.

    From the first time I spoke with Derek I was impressed. We had replaced an expensive air handler motor a short time ago and our previous A/C company failed to note the coil was in really bad shape and it failed. Derek explained all our options and in the end we decided to replace the entire system. Derek and Augie did a great job in installing the new system in about 7 hours. They were professional and knowedgeable. And compared to other bids, they were the best.

    Derek and Jose arrived right on time and had the problem diagnosed in no time. Derek informed me the part was under warranty but due to the parts house being closed was not able to get it that evening. The next morning he was able to locate the warranted part in Austin. Had it sent to their office and had our air conditioner up and running that same day.

    On Friday night our thermostat console showed power off. We have tried plugged, unplugged, breakers off and on, nothing. So Saturday morning we started looking for HVAC professionals. In our area most of the companies closed on weekends. But we found Smithson and we are really glad we did. They were busy and offered 7 pm, the only time they were available, we agreed, but we got even more lucky when someone cancelled their service and they could come in 20 minutes after our talk. They found problem, give us solutions and fix it! They even offered talk to manufacturer and see if we still have warranty to replace some parts. Working fast, effective and explained everything!     I highly recommend Derek with smithson Valley services. He gave me the most reasonable quote to replace my AC condenser and coil.I appreciate Davidā€™s attention to detail with his workmanship. His company was the only one out of four that informed me my coil is still under warranty, so thereā€™s no need to purchase a new coil. Hence his quote for the work was significantly lower than the other three HVAC companies. Derrick is professional, on time, courteous and responsive. He is now my go to HVAC contractor.

    Allow me to elaborate my experience just trying to obtain a quoteā€¦.before SVS AC, I called multiple AC companies and let me tell you, I felt that no one was offering me something available because I was asking many questions on trying to obtain a quote, and all other companies answer like if they were in a hurry or wanted to obtain a lot of info unreciprocated when I was asking questions, some stated no quotes until a tech is there, others provided intimidating upfront fees and the main company didnā€™t even appreciate me as existing customer, none of the other 4 companies expressed professionals towards a new prospect client, finally when I talk to Smithson Valley Services the Technitian was very patient, did listen to all my troubleshooting steps and questions, they did provided me an approx but emphasized the importance of coming to check and evaluate the issue and even provided me an open appointment that day when I needed, as a result of their professionalism knowledge and the quick response on their services I ended buying the membership and now they have a new content client
