I can’t express how pleased I am with the entire experience. The old AC for our home, which has been struggling, gave out and was not cost effective to repair. I called multiple companies and Garner showed up that same morning. Max from Garner was awesome. We discussed what I was looking for as far as price point and performance. He then evaluated what i had and what would be needed to get me where I wanted to be. He found many things from my original installation for the house that were sub par. The original air handler support, drains, pan and plenum were installed in a way that could be problematic and were. Then he let me know based on calculating what size unit was needed by measuring all the rooms in the house, my unit was undersized. I went with Garner because of how confident I was with the company based on everything Max had explained. My AC install was scheduled and happened today. Flawless! The guys showed up early this morning and explained everything they would be doing and then got down to business. Four hours later the new unit was installed, on and they were wrapping up and doing final checks. The new system is incredible both in how it looks and performs. Thank you Garner. It’s not the brand AC you choose that’s most important for a new AC system, it’s the quality of the system installation. Go with Garner.

Garner HVAC Did a first rate install of a new system, including all ductwork, 18 months ago. The system has been working beautifully, the house is always comfortable now, and our utility bills have dropped noticeably. Chey Simpson, The Garner technician who services the system twice each year, Is thorough in the work he does and patient in explaining both what he’s doing and what we need to be doing to keep the system in top working order. I’ve worked with many different HVAC companies over the years, and this company, by far, does the most thorough and professional work.

Did you ever experience Devine intervention and know it? Well, I did and it kind blew my mind. On Saturday, 9/21, my A/C went out that morning, and I had written down the name of an A/C repairman that I got from Nextdoor. Now I had that piece of paper several days before, and I started looking for it but it was nowhere to be found. I mean I looked everywhere, but it was gone. So I checked Nextdoor again and saw that Garner had a lot of good reviews, so I called them. And they said they could be out here Sunday between 1:00 and 4:00. So I said okay, dreading the 24 hours without A/C. Not 10 minutes later they called me back and said they’d had a cancellation and could send Omar right away. What a nice guy he turned out to be! Omar installed a new capacitor (which another repairman told me I needed a year and 5months ago), cleaned the inside of the unit, and was done before the inside of my house got very hot. I cannot say enough good about Omar and his expertise. And I won’t have to go looking for Garner’s number because it’ll be in my phone book. And about that Devine intervention? That night I found the piece of paper with the other man’s phone number under my bed! Plainly I was supposed to call Garner, AND the cancellation? Who cancels an appointment with an A/C repairman when the temperature is in the high 90’s? Two miracles in one day and Omar to boot! I won the jackpot.

Chey Simpson showed up about an hour after the workday started. Thats very quick since the trouble was reported via the website after hours, the evening before. During the repair process, Chey permitted me to monitor over his shoulder. Chey was friendly, forthcoming, considerate and professional. He explained each step he was taking and the reasons for taking it. He enlightened me about future problems that may be expected and how to possibly avoid them. We have used Garner AC since we bought our home over 30 years ago and with employees like Chey, will continue to do so.

During the job, he let me know the progress & gave photos of the new system for every former trouble spot. Garner Heating and AC was recommended to me in the early 90’s by a mutual friend due to the high integrity of the owner and I have been a customer ever since. Max has assisted me several times over the years including previously adding duct work which greatly improved the comfort throughout my 40+ year old house. He recently met with me over my concerns with the age of the system. His knowledge and courtesy provided the information I needed without any pressure either way. The new system was installed last week. Ethan and his crew worked quickly and I am very pleased with the new system. Ethan was very courteous and patiently responded to any questions I had. I am 100% satisfied with the new system and, once again, very impressed by all the people at Garner!

We are more than pleased with Garner’s service and the professionalism, patience and skills Max, Ethan and his crew demonstrated while dealing with a complete HVAC and duct removal and replacement and difficult tenant that insisted on staying at the property while worked was being done. Max took the time to explain the different HVAC brands and was available after hours for any questions I had. They are pricey but the quality of services I received from them was well worth the investment.

I can’t say enough about the professional from Garner. From the estimation to the installation they were wonderful. The installers Ethan and Angel went above and beyond to install our new ac/propane furnace and bring everything up to code. It was raining and misting all day and the job was not an easy one working in tight spaces and on a steep wet metal roof. They worked very well together and once they completed they explained all the upgrades they did and how to maintain and use everything. The job took 8 hours of nonstop work and never once did I hear them grumble with all the obstacles they faced. Thank you for the exceptional service and thank you Ethan and Angel for your work ethic.

5 star service all around. We had our ducts replaced with Garner.Max was great throughout the process, was not pushy given the cost of the project. I will say Garner had the best price out of probably 6 other companies I had called in the NB area. Some were close, but Garner was the victor in that area. We also had to delay the project due to our situation and Max went to bat to try to get some of the price knocked down due to the original price which was a special at the time.Ethan and his crew came out and were great throughout. They were prompt at right around 7:30 as expected, and finished the project around 1, seemed like they knocked it out. They also cleaned up any debris and made use of drop cloths during the project to prevent scratching anything.All in all, I would go with Garner again, and you guys have a customer for any future needs. Nearly 25 years ago we built our first home in Dripping Spring and Garner Heating and Air designed and installed the entire HVAC system. We are still living in that house today, and because of their superb work and excellent maintenance program our system was still running in tip top shape after nearly 25 years. Because the efficiency of HVAC systems designed by the manufacturers has greatly improved, we only recently asked this same company to change out the entire mechanical system. We absolutely love our new even quieter running system and noticed this past year a huge cost savings on our monthly energy bill. We’ve been impressed by their company for a lot of reasons, especially the courtesy and workmanship of their employees. After the new install they left our home better than they found it. I felt sorry for them having to work in such a small tough and cramped attic crawl space, but they still did an amazing job. They are true professionals in every sense of the word. While Garner Heating and Air has developed and expanded their business over the years, they have continued to maintain the same quality craftsmanship, honesty, and dependability you might come to expect in a family owned and operated business. It’s all about the ServiceWe’re in year 31 living in this home and Garner has been providing service as far back as I can remember on a unit installed by others, until that unit finally needed replacing at which time Garner installed our current unit more than ten years ago. Max Bethke was our service tech back then and he was special. We were excited about his promotion, but sad to lose him as a tech. Matt Fleischauer, our new tech, has filled some seriously big shoes and we hope that he’ll be with us for a long time to come. Very knowledgeable, professional, pleasant and patient. When our unit was installed, we had very poor internet and it was futile to connect the thermostat to an app and our phones then. As part of our service check up, we asked that Garner send someone who could assist us completing this connection now that we have better internet and Matt came through which required contacting Carrier and making sure we were fully functional before leaving. We feel fortunate to have another tech that is as personable and helpful as Max.

It was an excellent experience working with every member of Garner since the day we called to help us with our AC problem. They were able to give us an appointment very soon which was wonderful since our AC broke during the week when temperatures were more than 105. Omar and Ryan were very professional, polite and empathetic about our issue and took their time to diagnose the problem. We opted to replace our AC which was 16 years old and has been given problems in the past three years. We had gotten help from other AC companies in the past but none were as great as Garner. Max came to measure our house to provide us with the best options. Very impressive the way Garner writes estimates with three options to consider. I got other quotes from other companies with ratings 4.9 or above and none were as detailed as Garners quotes. The prices were very comparable but the professionalism and the people skills of everyone who helped us from Garner helped us decide to choose them. The big plus was that they were able to replace the AC within 2 days after we made the decision. The installation was excellent. Jason, Angle, and Isaiah arrived on time at 6AM as promised. They were polite, friendly, great communicators explaining the process. I have a feeling that Garner takes their time to choose great people to work for them considering that 6 of their employees have excellent technical skills and personal skills. I signed up for a preventative maintenance plan with a visit every 6 months. It is 6 months later and the technician performed a thorough inspection, showed photos of what he did and the condition of the hardware. He spent an hour. Good to know proper maintenance is being done. Great company.

We chose Garner A/C to replace old ductwork in our attics. Jason and Jose arrived promptly at 6:00 am to perform the work. They disposed of the old ductwork, installed the new ductwork and thoroughly cleaned after the installation. Jason explained what had been installed, how it was installed and where each section was. He checked the system for any leaks, cleaned the condensation drain line and ensured our system and airflow were good. He and Jose were courteous, professional and efficient. We are very happy with the work they did in our home.

Highly recommend Garner for all your HVAC needs. I had a home warranty with American Home Shield, and when my air handler died, they sent out the lowest rated company in the area to repair the unit. Unhappy with the offer, I decided to call around and see how other companies in the area operated. Boy, am I glad I called Garner. From the initial call, to the first visit with Max (fantastic guy, really knows his stuff!! Give this man a raise.), to the installation of the system, my case was handled promptly and professionally. Everyone at Garner took the time to fully explain why and how Garner did things differently. They were priced a little higher than some of the other competitors, but you get what you pay for, and when installing a component as crucial as HVAC in Texas, its worth the cost difference to (A) get higher quality components, and (B) have them installed properly. Its been a few months now since the installation and things are running perfectly. Long story short, I no longer think or worry about my HVAC system. This is the name of the game in Texas. Weve been shopping around for a new AC for a few years now and the prices were either extremely high for equipment beyond our needs, or reasonable but for equipment that seemed less than reliable. After helping us with a Sunday AC issue, we got a quote that included a quality Carrier unit larger than what we had and well within our price range. Given the inclusions of labor warranties and some quality of life improvements for the system, it was an easy decision. The install was prompt, the team that came was respectful and willing to answer all our questions, and they did a great job cleaning up afterward and walking us through the system. We are absolutely happy with the system so far and looking forward to working with the folks at Garner for years to come.Update July 2024:Weve been with Garner now for 4 years and I cant say enough good stuff about them! Weve had a few issues come up with our unit in that time and every time theyve come out and taken care of what needed to be done quickly. Theyve also helped with improving the system in place, helping us identify the need for an additional return and relentlessly pursuing an unusual issue we had around high humidity in the house. No matter the problem, theyve come back again and again to make sure everything meets their standards. Not once have they nickel and dimed us either, always making sure that we know any cost up front, and following through if something needs adjustment after install. I had a difficult problem to diagnose last week, because the AC went out on Tuesday, but came back on (for a little while) before the tech arrived on Wednesday - all during a Texas heat wave. He spent a long time running through all of the various issues but couldnt recreate the problem that day and just gave me the trip charge. The AC went off again that night, and I sent some pictures of my thermostat (suspected issue) at different times versus the outside temps overnight. Garner sent out another tech the next day who was able to use that information and the previous days notes to find a short in the wiring on the thermostat control panel in the attic. Problem solved with a new thermostat, and a nice discount from Garner because the motor also had to be replaced after trying to both heat and cool at the same time.Techs dont often listen to homeowners when we describe the issues - Garners employees listened and were able to find an easier and less expensive fix that most companies would have missed and probably try to use the age of my system to up-sell me on a new unit.Nice and very responsive group. Will go back to them again!

We had Garner AC come out and check our Carrier AC unit before summer to make sure everything was working properly. We bought the maintenance contract for them to come out twice a year to check our unit. They were prompt in coming out and spent about 2 hours going over everything. They discovered the compressor fan motor was bad and had to be replaced. In addition, they replaced the condenser torque booster because it was over 4 years old and was about to go out.We had not needed to use our AC until about a week later and the AC would not turn on. We called them back and they were out within the hour and spent another two hours going over everything again and also programmed our thermostat for us. They found a short and replaced the contacts and it is cooling wonderfully. They did not charge us anything for their time or the part since they had just been out. I would definitely recommend them for service on your AC.

These guys are amazing! After reading the reviews I decided to give them a shot and get a third estimate to change out my ac. They did not disappoint and delivered! First an estimator came out and answered all my questions and gave me a price same day. Other companies were taking about two days to get back to me. Second visit was the day of installation. The technician Jason came with two other techs. He thoroughly went over all the equipment that got installed. The last visit was with Ryan who came out to check and make sure everything was installed correctly. Garner is a professional outfit, and their people are always respectful, knowledgeable, and careful. Theyve got great people on their team, including Max Bethke and newcomer Omar Hernandez. Leonard recently stopped by for a system checkup and spent a long time making sure the system was clean, charged, and operating properly, and then he ensured that all drain lines were clear. It was a pleasure having Leonard in our home, as is always the case with Garner techs. I tend to loathe paying for subscriptions, but the $199 annual fee that Garner charges for two checkups a year is to me very worth it. Weve got a new system so the techs usually dont find much in the way of a malfunctioning unit, but it can be the little things (plugged drain lines, leaf buildup inside the condenser, etc.) that can add up to big repairs down the line. Those maintenance visits catch the little things and ensure our HVAC system can withstand the next heat wave or Snowpocalypse. Thanks to Garner, were pretty cool people.

First Don Lee came to my rescue after I had been waiting for another company to come out all day. I contacted them of course on a Friday afternoon with a non working air conditioner when the others let me down. Long story short Don Lee came out as soon as he finished with another customer ready to help. He was able to replace a part that would get me through for awhile. He then offered to leave the part in the unit since it did make it work, and pay no service fee, or for the part if I decided to replace the unit with Garner. We talked for awhile, he was very patient answering my questions here again it is Friday evening by now. He left without asking for payment with me 90% sure I was going to just replace the 12-13 year old system, but I wanted to think about it over night. He did write up a Proposal & Agreement with all the costs and what Garner A/C would provide. I did some investigation, spoke with a friend who had recommended them to me several years ago and called them Monday morning to discuss further with Karen and scheduled installation for today. Don Lee is very knowledgeable of the systems, he explained the differences between heat pump, other systems and was just so nice, he went into the attic to see what was there and how a new system could replace the old easily. Don was very knowledgable, nice and gave me a feeling of confidence he is an honest, caring person. I rate him top notch two thumbs up guy.

We first used Garner Heating and AC to service the original system in our house built in 1993. The in-the-attic system was builders-grade quality, but Garner kept it going and kept us cool and warm for years, til it finally gave out in 2008. Doug recommended replacing it with a heat pump unit, and explained the differences and advantages, but never pressured us in either direction. We went with the heat pump and are extremely pleased with it. It has saved us over $100.00 per month in the warmer and cooler months, and has more than paid for itself. We also decided to sign up for the service agreement, and Garner comes out twice a year, before the hot or cold weather sets in, to clean, inspect, service and maintain the unit.Sunday (naturally), 6/25/17, our unit gradually stopped cooling. I requested a service appointment on-line. Karen called the next morning and scheduled us for that afternoon. Don originally came out and sweltered in the near-100 degree heat (closer to 130 in the attic) to diagnose the problem, a pinhole near a joint in one of the supply lines which caused the system to freeze up. Ryan, Cody & Zach arrived soon after to do the repair, and to completely check the system to ensure there were no other leaks or problems. They must have spent close to 6-8 man-hours doing the repair. When it came time to settle up, Ryan explained that, while the part repaired wasnt normally covered under the 10-year P&L warranty, it was a part that they had handled during the original installation, and was therefore covered by their companys customer satisfaction warranty. He said there would be no charge for the repairs. I was amazed! How many other companies would have gone to these lengths to repair a nine-year-old system, and then charge nothing. All I can say is that Doug and Karen Garner, and each of their staff, are and have always been genuinely nice, honest, hard-working people who take care of their customers and take pride in their work. I cant say enough in highly recommending them to others.

I rarely take the time to write a review on a company but Garner Heating & Air Condition definitely deserves one. I’ve had them come to my house twice and both times they were above and beyond helpful. The first time I called them they sent out Max who was absolutely great. He came out and was gone in less than 20 minutes and had everything done and working like a brand new unit. The second time they sent out Don who is absolutely awesome. As soon as he got here he assessed the situation, filled me in on what it was, got to work, and took the time to explain everything to me to not only make sure I understood what he was doing or what he did but also to Make sure that I was ok with whatever he was doing. I would absolutely 100% recommend them to anybody and everybody. They are a little more pricey than a few other places that I called but if there’s one thing that I’ve learned over the years is that you get what you pay for and this was just another example of that, I paid top dollar for their services but I absolutely got top-quality work done and honestly don’t think the cheaper places would’ve done things as good or had the customer service that Garner offers. I live in an historic wood framed house. We had Garner install 5 mini split Carrier wall units with 2 outside mini splits several years ago. One of the five wall units leaked. It warped the sheet rock. The tech said the line had been insulated incorrectly. After complaining about this online, Garner came to the house, investigated the issue, discovered the drain lines had shifted to draining uphill. They sent out techs to re-align to a downhill slope and cleaned the wall units in the house without charge.

It finally stopped cooling a couple of days ago. We knew it was coming, so we got a quote for a new system at the time of repair. When he showed up I he showed me my condenser and walked me though everything theyre was to know about it, and shared lots of tips about keeping it running better and longer and even how to replace a couple of things myself if need be. I got this fear of electrify, and one thing I needed was a fuse for the breaker box replaced. He said he could go and come back with it but told me how simple it was, to save me money, and even wrote steps for me to do it on a piece of paper and slapped it to the fuse box for me! Like honestly the level of kindness this dude had and showed me really did give me a sense of good people are out there. So I didnt get to tell him thanks because he had left before I got back. When I made the decision to install a ductless mini split in my cottage, I called several AC companies for estimates. The pricing was similar between companies (I had one low ball estimate) but their solutions, as far as placement and recommended BTUs were very different. Doug Garner, the owner of Garner Heating & Air Conditioning, provided the best solution at a fair price-- in fact, the placement is perfect and the workmanship is beyond what I expected. Garners crew completed the job in about four hours, were very professional, and left everything clean and tidy. Now that Ive been living with the Carrier ductless mini-split for a couple weeks, it was the best decision Ive made. The unit is whisper quiet and cools/ heats my cottage evenly-- far superior than the loud, energy sucking window unit I had before. I could not get my A/C to cool my home sufficiently the last couple hot day so I figured either I losing coolant or my condenser is going out (ouch!).I picked Garner because they were local and obviously with good credentials and reputation, obvious from their website. And their initial inspection fee was very reasonable and would be applied to any repair. Mack, a rep came out and seemingly thoroughly checked out my unit. I prepared for the worst...then he said my unit was fine, just undersized for the house and thats why theres a cooling problem. Gave me a pretty reasonable price, actually the price was pretty low, for a new unit if we ever wanted to upgrade. Then he said no charge since he was in the neighborhood anyway. Wow. I had to go to the computer write this review.
