Darryl is definitely a very honest and straight shooting guy. The service he provides is top teir. First time I used him was a middle of summer emergency, I live over an hour away, and he came same day to get the ac back running. Second time, again came very quickly and ended up needed the outside unit to be replaced. Not two business days later it was beautifully installed and working correctly. Thankful for finding such a trust worthy and hard working air and heat company.

Our thermostat was not properly wired when installed, I was told that particular thermostat was difficult to get wired properly by the technician that installed it. After several calls to the company that installed it went unanswered, I called Darryl. He was able to come out that afternoon and in a matter of minutes correctly wired the thermostat, he double checked to make sure the heat pump would change from AC to heat, made a few program adjustments and now we have heat upstairs!! Very impressed with how quickly he got the system functioning and at a very reasonable price.

Absolutely wonderful! Our AC quit after 5pm and it was 80 inside our house!. We have 3 your kids and 3 dogs, and we wouldn’t have been able to make it through the night in this heat wave. He said he could make it over after he finished up 2 other service calls, and assured me it would be this evening. He was on my doorstep less than an hour later. I would recommend him to absolutely anybody and everybody! Quick, reliable, and VERY friendly. We will for sure be using him again if we ever have any other issues!

Highly recommend Darryl. Noticed an issue with our AC not working Tuesday. Reached out to Darryl on Wednesday. He came out, talked with us, was able to find out that the fan motor had died. Today(two days later), its back up and running. He talked us through how to clean the coils and installed a new thermostat for us as well. Very friendly, not a bad cost for everything that was done, and again I would highly recommend Darryl. Thank you.Update 8/26/24Third time that Darryl has come out. Second time, outside fan stopped working. This time, we werent getting cool air with both fans working. He added r22, cleaned our condenser, and discovered our heating element was running at the same time as our cool air. Darryl was able to fix the issue again. I cannot state how much I recommend Darryl and Cutting Edge Air Conditioning and Heating. He is amazing and works with you every step of the way. 5/5 highly recommended!!

Saturday afternoon, the unimaginable happened - the AC died. Went to the Googles and starting calling companies. Being on a weekend, I knew my chances were slim for salvation. Only two answered the call. Only one could get to me before we melted - Cutting Edge.Darryl was here the next day and fixed the ac in no time flat, and the price was reasonable. If you live in Sweetwater and the unimaginable happens, give them a call. I know I will.Update: I had them come and replace my really old ac with a larger heat pump system. I tell you what… It’s already getting too hot to have your air conditioner to be freezing up on you. Especially when you’re premenopausal! LOL I found Darryl’s business, he had great reviews and thought to give him a call. Best decision I made all day! He was prompt to respond. Price was great. He was at my house quickly. He thoroughly checked my (old) system and luckily today all we needed was some freon. Darryl noticed some gaskets that needed to be replaced, so he did that too. I can’t say enough about our experience working with Darryl and his team. We used Cutting Edge to repair our AC 3 years ago; he was the only company in Abilene that was available to come by our house within 24 hours. Our system was 20 years old at the time, but he was able to repair it and keep it running for several more years.This time, we used Cutting Edge to do a full replacement and installation of a new HVAC system, including duct repair & replacement. Not only did Darryl respond in less than an hour when I called for a quote, he quoted us a price that was 25-50% less expensive than the other 3 quotes we received. 4 days later, our new AC was up and running perfectly.We will be using Cutting Edge exclusively in the future because of their professionalism, competitive pricing, and most especially their quick response time (when your HVAC goes down, you want help quickly!). I have an old heat pump system and it is on its last leg!I called Cutting Edge and Darryl set down with me and we discussed in detail what I would need. I told him I assume that unit will die soon and it being so old it is time for a replacement. Darryl was up front and honest, he stated that the current unit is old and not energy efficient. However, it could last a day, a year no one can accurately predict when it will die. So, with that being said as soon as any major issue come up( ex. Compressor ) it would not be rational or financially feasible to keep throwing money away on the old unit.My full intention , (when the unit finally gives up the ghost) is to have Darryl / Cutting Edge to replace my unit.IN MY HUMBLE OPINIONIF YOU WANT HONEST, Competitive bidding, and QUALITY, you would be foolish not to speak with Cutting Edge. We had them come and install a new system in our house and they were extremely helpful in picking out a great system for our home. They were very knowledgeable and reliable. And best of all it was about half the price of any other quotes we got. He was punctual and communicative with us through the whole process. He had the old system out, added the new system, and all the things we wanted added in just one day. Kept covers on the ground and even cleaned everything up outside. We came home from work and it was if they hadn’t even been there but we had a new system. Would highly recommend these guys and this company!!!

Had a blower fan go out in the middle of summer last year, Darryl was able to get it replaced quickly. Talked then about getting the whole unit replaced later. Fast forward to now, Darryl gave me a quote with a price that was reasonable. He ordered the unit and replaced it shortly after. Darryl and Brandon did a fantastic job. Good quality parts and professional work. Got it replaced and up and running in a day. The new AC cools much better than the old unit ever did. If you need your AC fixed or replaced, these guys are the ones to beat. Would recommend, 5 out of 5 stars!

I cant say enough good things about Cutting Edge Air Conditioning and owner Darryl Francy and co-worker Brandon. Our air conditioner had to be replaced and Darryl quoted us a good price for the AC and installation. But what he thought was going to be a normal installation turned into so much more. He found where our duct work was separated and we were receiving very little air to those vents. It was impossible to get to so he had to cut a hole in the ceiling and then go to town to purchase the duct extension, connectors, and all the ceiling repair items. What was suppose to be a 5 hour job turned into a 10 hour job and he did not charge us any extra. The AC works great, the ceiling looks great and they cleaned up amazingly (not a speck of dirt, insulation or any ceiling remnants were left behind). If you need quality work at a reasonable price call Cutting Edge, you will not be disappointed.

5Stars is not enough to express my appreciation for Darryl, Brandon and the two fine young men who work for Cutting Edge. You don’t find old fashioned integrity and true passion for quality and service like these men show. There is a science to doing a job and there is the art of doing it as they would do in their own homes to care for their own families. I particularly have to mention the leadership and mentoring I observed for the senior team patiently teaching how to do the job right as well as the respect in return from the younger workers. There was a deep respect and each answer to their mentors was followed by “yes sir” without any entitled attitudes. Obviously they knew they were treated with respect and gave respect back. Our AC went out in a week of 90+ degree temperatures, and on a Saturday. We called one of the bigger companies in town and were told we would get a call back. We never heard anything for 2 days.We called Cutting Edge and the phone was answered right away. We told him what our problem was, he said he would be out Monday to take a look. He arrived on time, showed me everything he was testing, how to read the meter he was using, and explained what was wrong with our unit.Our unit was very old, rusting, and used out of date coolant. So we made the decision to ditch the old one and install a brand new unit. They were here on Wednesday, the earliest they could make the appointment, and started at 6:30AM. By 1:00PM they were on their way to the next job and my house was finally cool again.They cleaned up their mess, left all the books and instructions we needed, and did an excellent job on the installs.My only wish that could have been done differently was that the new pipes were outside the wall instead of hidden inside the brick. However, they would have had to tear down half the outside wall of my house to get the pipe inside and I am thankful they did not do that. It has a cover on it and looks very nice, nearly like a drain spout from the rain gutter.I would highly recommend Cutting Edge Air Conditioning and Heating to anyone who needs a new system or repair!

Darryl is a solid guy. Very grateful we selected Cutting Edge to replace our whole HVAC system. Communication was fantastic. We got everything we asked for. I’m very particular about the work done to my home. I have to know part numbers, certifications, time frames, pricing etc. Darryl worked with me from day one and never gave me a hard time for digging into the particulars. Came multiple times after install to check things over and made sure we were happy with our system. We were having some flow issues with our previous system to one of our bedroom and his team definitely helped with that issue. We got high quality components at a fair price. He treated us well and I have no doubt he would have corrected any issues, if there were any. Which there hasn’t been any issues this far.Big thanks to him and his team for the service.Only critique people have been charging a little more for a better thermostat. It works fine and is Wi-Fi enabled. But it’s auto function isn’t very good at holding selected temperatures for whatever reason. But thermostats are easily replaceable so that’s no problem. If you see that at a possible issue, just let Darryl know and I’m certain he’d price you out a little higher end thermostat at a fair price.

Cutting Edge has went above and beyond our expectations and then some! I would and will recommend them to everyone I know in the future. We needed two mini splits and Darryl came out all this way to Aspermont to give us a quote. He helped us find the best price for the units online, set up for an electrician to come out the same day of the instillation, and even worked within our budget! Not only that, but when we had an issue with the mini split company we ordered from sending only one of the two units we ordered, Darryl was gracious enough to offer us to use his window air conditioners until the new one arrived so we didnt suffer in the 101 heat and it also saved us from two separate instillations. He was looking out for us and our best interest, both financially and health wise! He is an amazing person! Upon installation day he and his crew and the electrician installed our units professionally. They even put down a cover over our carpet so that it wouldnt get dirty and didnt leave until he knew they were working properly in both heat and air settings. After getting a quote from a contractor that the home warranty company sent out, we decided to get a second estimate since the first contractor said rats had shredded our duct work and it wasn’t covered by the warranty. Darryl took pictures and showed us that we had metal ducts that rats can’t destroy and the issue lied with the furnace not being installed correctly. (The first contractor was going to scam us for $1200 and not fix the problem!). Darryl showed up to do the job on time, was finished when he said he would be and took pictures of his work to show what he had accomplished. Losing your A/C here in Abilene when its starting to get hot out is miserable. Thankfully these guys called me back within 5ish minutes of me calling and leaving a message. They came out same day and replaced a fuse, I watched them go over every inch of available wire around the external unit, internal unit, and thermostat but everything looked good. About a week later I am sitting on my PC and the fuse pops again, I shot them a text to the number previously used (it was 830pm) and they had someone out the next morning. This time they went further in depth and traced the wire through my crawlspace (a horrible place really, cramped/musky/ and dirty) where they found a cable that had been chewed to hell by a mouse/rat. They ran me a new cable and go my a/c working again, without costing me an arm and a leg. These guys did great work and responded extremely swiftly. Definitely saved as a starred place on my google maps incase I run into any HVAC problems in the future.
