I have called on Edward Robinson and Professional Engineering Inspections twice over the past several years, first for an overall baseline inspection and most recently to reevaluate our foundation. We were concerned with an expansion joint in our brick which may have indicated a need for foundation repair. After several inspections and quotes for foundation repair which varied greatly in scope and costs of repair, we were very confused to say the least. So, I called on Edward once again. He was able to take measurements and compare them with our baseline and make the observation there had been little or no change from the original inspection. This gave us a great deal of clarity and reduced the anxiety we were experiencing over potential repair costs. Whatever your needs may be for an inspection, new home purchase, foundation issues, monitoring process of new construction, or whatever, I highly recommend Edward and Professional Engineering Inspections. I found the cost was very affordable, especially for the level of expertise. I will call on Edward and Professional Engineering Inspections for any structural issues and definitely before any purchase transaction.

My husband and I were purchasing our first home and wanted to have an engineers inspection conducted during our 7 day option period. I called Professional Engineering Inspections, Inc. and they were able to fit us in within a couple days. They sent Edward Robinson out to the house to conduct the inspection. We told him we were first time home buyers and he was wonderful with us! He spent 3 hours and covered every inch of the one story 2,000sq home. He talked us through everything he was doing. He explained preventative measures we could take and showed us what to look for when inspecting a house. We learned so much! We received the report the next day and it was extremely detailed with pictures. An engineers inspection costs more than a regular home inspector but it is definitely money well spent. Ed was worth every penny. If we have to have a home inspected in the future we will not hesitate to contact Professional Engineering Inspections.

Edward saved our tail. My wife and I were prepared to purchase a beautiful home. We had already signed the contract. Edwards inspection found many issues that were not obvious to the layman. This home was only aesthetically beautiful, but structurally a mess. His report was detailed and easy to understand and the photos he provided to support the report made it clear to us that we did not want to put our life savings into that house. I will use him on the next house too without a doubt.

Edward was extremely professional and spent considerable time at each stage of the inspection ensuring that every detail was covered. He not only displayed a sincere interest in being thorough in his work, but also in helping us to understand each step of the process (taking time to explain details that might otherwise have gone unnoticed). When we received the written report, we found it to be very comprehensive (well above the norm) and we were grateful for the care taken to assess the full condition of the property. Edward was a nice guy to boot. Highly recommend!

I would highly recommend Edward Robinson for anyone who has or intend to purchase a newly constructed home or any home for that matter. his expertise is precise and very knowledgable of his job. Another great thing I like is that he not only identify problems, especially those that are not visible to sight, but he educate the homeowner on how the problem should be fixed and prevented. Hes extremely good when it comes to companies not abiding by National Standards when it comes to code violations. With Mr. Robinson expertise a builder was responsible for buying a newly constructed home back from me due to bad build and code violations. So, if you plan on getting a new home, I highly recommend you call Mr. Robinson so he can inspect your home during the building stages starting with the foundation because there can be things wrong in your walls, etc. That takes good observation before you notice the problem after you have closed on a whether its a new construction or a resale home. I will be using him periodically for my home during upcoming years of wear and tear in a home, especially before your home warranty expire. Do yourself the favor and hire Edward the professional engineer.

If you’re looking for an honest and thorough home inspection, you can do no better than Ed Robinson. We’ve used Ed a number of times for pre purchase residential home inspections. This is not your 30 minute / ready in an hour inspection. Ed meticulously examined a 4000sqft property for over 8 hours. We received 35 pages of detailed descriptions of his findings, explanations with respect to code and expected repair costs. His extensive knowledge and engineering background yields a unique and thorough report. This property had passed another company’s inspection the week before that did not uncover the “severe water penetration, improperly installed stucco siding, poorly wired electrical box and numerous other structural and cosmetic problems. The second property Ed examined was found to have a broken fireplace cap which allowed water to damage the structure all the way down to the “wet and rotting floor joists”.Buying a home these days demands that buyers beware. Nothing is ever on the Sellers Disclosure anymore.. The only way to know what you’re getting for you’re hard earned money is to use a quality company like Professional Engineering Inspections.Ed and his company have saved us just under $1,000,000. The mistakes we would have made without his knowledge and expertise could have cost us a fortune. We currently rely on Ed’s consulting services as we plan our upcoming construction project.

I highly recommend Professional Engineering. Edward performs extremely thorough and detailed inspections at a fair price. My family has used him for years and he personally saved my wife and I thousands of dollars when he found a compromised structural beam in our new home before we purchased it. I recommend him to all my friends and family.

Without a doubt the absolute best inspector I’ve even heard of!!!Many people don’t understand the value of a good inspector. I’ve had Ed inspect more than a few homes for me. Two of which I didn’t buy and that decision was based off the very helpful information provided by Ed, and that information would expose major repairs and a costly expense that was unknown to me.You get what you pay for, and when you’re making the most costly purchase you likely will in your life, it’s best to have all the necessary information to make your decision!Keep in mind a lot of inspectors work to keep their clientele happy (i.e. the realtors and banks) they’re less concerned about the paying customer and that would be you!Ed works for you the BUYER!Best money you will spend in the buying process!!!Dwane O.

I had a problem with a renovated shower. I had no idea where to get advice for this problem. I remembered hearing of Edward Robinson on Steve Drakes radio program, so although it was a relatively small problem I called Professional Engineering. Spoke with Nancy, very professional and kind, and Edward called the very next day with very important information and advice. This is so rare these days. I highly recommend Edward and would certainly not buy a house or do any large renovation with his inspection! Thank you Edward!!

Weve used Edward twice now, both for a pre-dry wall inspection for a home in the process of being built and a previously-built final inspection. He has been an absolutely wonderful inspector. Extremely detail oriented, great with structure and looking at the detail work of the home. Will continue to use him and highly recommend this business.

Edward and his company are hands down the best there is in Houston. We’ve retained Professional Engineering for multiple home buys, both existing and new build. Simply put, there is no one more thorough, helpful, and detail oriented in the business. If I could give five more stars, I would. Worth every penny, and more.

PEI is a great outfit. I was deployed to Iraq shortly after the arrival of our first child and only weeks into the construction of our first home. This left my wife to deal with the stresses of construction, parenthood, and a husband in combat. In rides Edward and PEI. He monitored the progress of our home, worked with the home builder to resolve issues before they landed in my wifes lap, and was there to supply badly needed peace of mind for my wife and me. Thanks to PEI, construction finished with next to no issues and the quality of our home was improved by Eds involvement. The true testament to Edwards character and the principles by which PEI operates... he would not accept payment. Were talking hours of additional work, trips to our site, inspecting... many times by the glow of a flashlight after a long day of paying jobs... for zero money. After my return and prior to the expiration of our home warranty, we invited PEI back out to do a full inspection of our home. The inspection was incredibly thorough and the report was well put together, it contained pictures to better illustrate the findings, and it was worded in a manner to aid us in negotiating repairs with the home builder. We have referred PEI to several of our friends and family members and they have all been as pleased and impressed by PEIs knowledge and customer service as we were.Outstanding company to do business with.

Great service, highly recommend!Mr. Robinson was very thorough in his evaluation of our home’s foundation, front to back, inside and outside. He explained what he was doing and he clearly and in plain English answered all my questions. After the analysis we received a detailed written report.I wouldn’t hesitate to hire him again.

I used Professional Engineering and Inspections services to help me settle inconsistencies over foundation repair plans between other professional engineers. Edward guided me through the differences and potential risks associated with various solutions and explained where he thought differences originated from probable approaches the engineers took. What I found showing - a lot of his warnings of potential pitfalls associated with different repair options reflected the reality of my problems before I even fully described the situation to them. When I’ve explained what happened he was further helpful and in detail described drawbacks and benefits of possible solutions. In my experience this company’s engineer was very knowledgeable, helpful and I think even went an extra mile in terms of going into more detail than I’ve asked her to make sure I understand things as clearly as possible. For full disclosure – I did not have actual repairs done as recommended by them. But with knowledge and experience displayed, I was left wishing they were the ones I hired initially. If you’re shopping around for engineering company for your foundation, would strongly suggest to give them a call.

Ed was extremely thorough and took the time to walk me thru the report to help me understand the findings. One week later I had additional questions regarding the report. Ed responded that day and took the time to walk me thru his findings in detail. I would recommend highly
