    Absolutely fabulous! John showed up and went straight to work. Within 10 minutes he knew exactly what was going on and was in his truck with replacement parts that they keep on hand! Within 30 minutes he had us fixed up with the new motor which also auto balances the system! He was polite, knowledgeable and fast!

    One word for this company, HONEST! Our blower motor was starting up intermittently causing the motor not to come on resulting in no airflow.The first occurrence, I was out of town and called a neighbor in a panic who works for another company. We were advised to replace the unit, no other solutions were offered. The second occurrence, we were both home and realized the blower fan was not coming on. I was able to get it to start up in the on position to keep it running.I reached out to Southern Temp Control, Lauren ask questions to give the technician an idea of the situation. Rob came out today, went over the call notes and aak a few pre-diagnostic questions. Rob looked at the motor, ran all of the diagnostics and advised it could be a faulty switch but wasnt pushing for switch replacement as the unit was operating fine. I respected his honestly but went ahead to make the repair. He replaced the switch then went above and beyond by checking the whole system to uncover any potential issues. We appreciate and value this level of service.Rob explained our system and if it is operating correctly with no leaks, there is no need for replacement. His honesty goes along way with us and will be customers from now on.Thank you Rob and Lauren for addressing all of concerns and recommendations on future service. Fair and transparent pricing too! Highly recommend these guys!

    Rob and his team went ABOVE AND BEYOND to help us out when we were in a bind this past summer due to an unexpected broken A/C unit. Not only was Rob and his team incredibly friendly, professional, and knowledgeable, they squeezed us in to his already jampacked schedule to make sure we didnt have to suffer through the Texas triple digit heat any longer. We had a unique situation with a pending insurance claim and as soon as we had information to move forward, Rob jumped into action and worked with our unique situation to identify and resolve our A/C issues within a couple days, going out of his way to fit us in to a Saturday. Rob is a wonderful neighbor, and hes a genuinely good human who is trustworthy, friendly, efficient, HIGHLY KNOWLEDGEABLE and he treated us like friends who needed help when we were in a bind and even gave us some tips for the future so wed have some knowledge too. I cannot say enough good things about his expertise and level of service... thank you so very much, Rob.

    Our heat pump started acting up late on Christmas Eve and our temp in the house was down to 57 degrees Christmas morning. My wife left a message for Southern Temp Control and we received a call back a short while later. Rob came out, inspected everything and found that we had a bad circuit breaker in the main breaker box. He was able to contact a local electrician and the breaker was replaced, fixing our problem. Rob checked the system out thoroughly and showed me how it was functioning as designed.We have their semiannual maintenance program, which I recommend for peace of mind. It is not cheap but you know when they are finished that your heat and AC are good for the upcoming heat or cold.I am always impressed with the thoroughness with which they do their work and how pleasant and professional they (Rob and John) are. It is hard to find people that are as honest, professional and pleasant as these guys are. They were recommended to us by a friend and I am happy to recommend them to you. They are the best!

    Rob was wonderful to work with. We had already had two other HVAC service techs out. Rob responded quickly, found the (major) problem easily and had it repaired in a timely fashion even though it required parts. He also showed us every step of his work. Highly recommended.

    Guys were super quick in getting out to fix my mother-in-laws AC. They also seemed really knowledgeable about all the different systems and safety measures, so she just told them to do what they needed to. They said they had to fix the pipe for the drip pan, and she said great, do it. I had to go up there tonight to figure out why her air handler wouldnt turn on, turns out they caulked the inside of the pipe, causing the drip pan to fil until the water hit the sensor that shut off her whole system. Thank you Southern Temp Control for being able to come out and fix the outside unit so quickly and in a timely manner, but please dont do things that an electrician immediately notices as not being done right.Resolved. Rob Wolfe called and we talked through it and he was able to explain and prove that they didnt do it.

    Rob is superior to most in this trade. You can expect excellent results when hes called in for service. Hes been servicing my HVAC systems for the past 4 years and does a full evaluation of my systems on every visit. Ive even called him for advice when I was struggling with a unit I was installing in my greenhouse and he helped me resolve the issue I was having with my controller. You wont be disappointed with his service.

    We needed a new heat pump and Rob came out and performed a thorough survey of what was needed and provided a quote within a day. We worked on what I could do to save some costs, and agreed upon a final price for a high quality unit. He even helped me with getting a rebate from the electric company. The installation, most done by Jeremy, was top notch, using high quality components and everything installed according to code and done right. After owning a small business myself for 19 years, I found Rob did everything right, especially when it came to customer satisfaction. Im usually critical of something when writing a review, but could find nothing to criticize about Robs business. Excellent!

    We called Rob on the Saturday before Memorial Day when our AC quit cooling, and he was at our house within an hour. He found a freon leak and was able to load enough freon to get us through until he could come back and fix the leak. Communication is great! Prompt and reliable service.

    Rob was awesome! Gave me his opinion over the phone based on my description of the problem. He confirmed an appointment time and got here almost exactly on time and I got a text and email confirmation of when he was on his way.He was very clear and upfront about the charges both on the phone and again in person and went to great lengths to make sure I knew what he was doing and what the problem was.Sure enough the problem was just what he thought in our phone call and was a quick and inexpensive fix since he had the part on his truck.In and out in maybe 45 minutes and our system blowing cold, and a great price too. Our go-to repair company from here on out for sure!

    Rob has been servicing our home HVAC for years. His diagnostic rigor and forthrightness solidified his credibility with us long ago when we worked through issues with the system in our new home. I have seen him consult for other technicians, and I have seen other technicians consult him. He prescribes sensible, cost-effective, preventative maintenance. The only pressure is that it makes sense. We feel lucky to have him available to maintain our HVAC and don’t know what we’d do without him.

    I had just returned from having open heart surgery when one of our ac units stopped cooling. I called Rob and he came out and verified that the coolant had all leaked out. I had another contractor come out a few days before and he filled up the system with coolant and wanted to sell me a new unit. Rob took his time in the hot attic and found that a small copper line had a hole and was leaking. He repaired it and recharged the system and confirmed no other leaks. He took video on his cell phone to show me where it was leaking. Rob saved me many thousands of dollars when anyone else would have just replaced the system. I will never use anyone else again. He is prompt, thorough, honest and very reasonable. Most other contractors want to sell new units rather than service them.

    My dad and I got to my weekend home on Saturday and a/c wasnt cooling. It was going to be 102, so we really needed that a/c fixed! Looked on my FB community forum for posts on reviews of local HVAC companies. Southern Temp Control and Rob Wulff were the top rated so I called and left a vm. 5 minutes later Rob called and said he could be there in 30 minutes. I told him the fan wasn’t turning but the unit was running. He explained what the problem could be and told me the general cost for various outcomes and the cost for weekend service fee. I agreed, hung up and he was there in about 15 minutes. He was personable and professional and explained to us in detail what the issue was and the cost to repair. It was the lesser of the issues he had explained over the phone so I got lucky and the repair cost was very reasonable, especially being a weekend. He did the work quickly and then went over what we should do to keep the unit in top running condition. He also suggested their semi-annual maintenance agreement that’s perfect for someone in my situation with a weekend home who isn’t there to take care of the unit. I’ll be signing up for that service today. Without us even asking, he also showed us how to do maintenance on our ductless mini-split a/c system. Thank you so much Rob Wulff! We really appreciate you!

    Rob was great at Southern Temp Control! Its a relief to finally find someone I feel is reliable, knows his stuff, and his attention to detail was spot on. When he left I knew exactly what was going on with my unit via videos he recorded while testing my unit.     We had an issue with our heater during the recent cold snap and Rob was quick to return our call, and to make a visit! Not only did he get our system up and working he was kind enough to trouble shoot the system with us and talked us through every step of the way. Ive never felt so informed about a repair and I had zero doubt that I was paying for the work that was needed and that the issue at hand had been fixed.     The a.c. at our place has been a nuisance for years, generally tripping off on high pressure during 100° days. I like to try and fix things myself, but with two babies in the house now and a heat wave upon us, it was obvious it was time to call in a pro. My wife found the reviews for Southern Temp Control via Google and as they were favorable, I gave Rob a call. We set up an appointment for the next day and Rob was right on time.I described the problem and Rob immediately explained to me the several items that could be the culprit. He spent the better part of an hour thoroughly checking the unit--explaining what he was doing as he was doing it--and even sent me a screenshot of his guage read-outs which was pretty cool.Turns out the run capacitor was wired incorrectly! He wired it properly and the amp draw on the fan motor and compressor immediately corrected itself. Lesson learned: some things are best left to a professional.Rob knows his stuff, hes thorough and happy to take the time to tell you whats going on with your system. He has definitely earned a loyal customer, here! I highly recommend Southern Temp Control if you need ac service or repair.Update 4/15/22: We bought a new house and without getting into the poor job that the builder did, I’ll say that our AC wasn’t working. Rob came out with minimal notice and quickly assessed and fixed the problem. He is a great guy, super knowledgeable and professional. I cannot recommend him enough.

He came right over, did a complete assessment and fixed the problem. Professional, efficient, thorough. I cant say enough.     I am the one who once paid $175 to have a guy from Brand X come out and spray insectide in the A/C wiring to get rid of the ants. So can I give Southern Temp Control more than 5 stars? Rob certainly deserves some extras. My heat pump quit pumping heat and it collected inside until the dog was looking for a cool spot to lay down on the floor that she hadnt already warmed up so I called and Rob came right out. Im glad hes an expert because I am not. I didnt know that there was a switch outside that turned that heat exchange blower unit thingy on and off, and I certainly didnt know which way the switch was supposed to go. He knew instantly that it was off, apparently from one of the recent windstorms we have been having, in which my gutter downspout blew down, knocking the switch into the OFF position. The funny part is that I had called Rob out a few years ago, and it was for something else fairly minor as well, I think it involved a blown fuse. Now, did Rob laugh at my ignorance, collect his trip charge, and leave? He did not. He checked over the unit outside, the equipment in the utility closet, and tested the temperature differential and all sorts of technical stuff. He was nice to my grumpy dog. He answered my questions about whether my equipment was appropriate for the size of my house and generally assured me that everything seemed to be in good order. Thats what Im talking about!

    These guys are great, words alone cant not explain how good these guys are. They came out for a full service call. My Carrier 3.5 ton system was cooling , but was making strange noise . They identified issues with my HVAC system that other companies did not identify. A few examples , my return air duct is under size, this is not allowing the proper air flow. The system runs and cools but it causing it to run longer and use more power. the drain in the attic did not have any slope, so water was not draining. They replaced the start capacitor with a USA made Quality , capacitor.

    Robb is amazing! He has the latest technology and was able to expertly evaluate and diagnose our 30+ year old AC unit. He gave us thorough quotes for a range of options, from making adjustments now to get a few more years out of it, to replacing the unit altogether, and all the options there to choose from.     Rob of Southern Temp Control is a true blue AC professional! Not only that, he works nights and weekends. He is always on time, knowledgeable, thorough, and communicates clearly with me. Some years ago, Rob was actually able to repair my CACH with an intermittent problem. These are difficult to diagnose. One of my family members was in hospice at the time and it caused so much grief that the AC was not working properly. The patient was very uncomfortable and could not breathe well! Another well-known company in Wimberley company walked away, but Rob spent the time and investigated the problem. He found the wire that was crimped by the cover of the outside unit. I am so impressed with Southern Temp Control that I now use them for routine maintenance contracts. You won’t be disappointed!

    I contacted Rob to discuss maintaining our new HVAC system. It is a great setup that was installed by another company. Yet Ive learned from past experience that disregarding semi-annual maintenance was not one of my better decisions in the past. Though we were outside of what will become ongoing Spring and Fall maintenance with Rob, he took the time to (a) explain our new system to us from top to bottom, (b) activate some components that had not been turned on at initial install, and (c) program climate control to our specific preferences. Our new system is now working to its fullest potential, and we feel very comfortable knowing that Rob will be maintaining it going forward.

    Rob Wolff’s knowledge and over-all expertise has no doubt saved my family’s life.My home has an older model H/VAC system that is very functional, not quite ready to be placed in a museum, but does need occasional attention.A technician that was servicing the A/C portion of the appliance advised that the gas valve to the furnace needed to be replaced as it was leaking slightly.I asked him to go ahead and replace it so he said he’d come back out to complete the job but first he had to order a replacement valve. I did not hear back from him so I called and was informed that my system was so old that replacement parts were no longer available for it.Then I used a national web site to find somebody familiar with my specific brand, and was successful.The guy responded instantly and had an immediate source for the “no longer available part”. I was impressed! He replaced the valve and at my request installed a more modern (digital) thermostat, but he said that due to the thermostat being so modern he had to do a lot of re-wiring and then he had to show me how to use it specifically when using the heater as it was not as simple as just turning it on in the heater mode, but I had to manually turn on the blower which was required to remain on the entire time the heater was engaged as a fire would result if it wasn’t on. Seemed to make sense.Well a few months later I started to smell gas from the furnace area and I called the guy back out to trouble shoot it. He sent one of his associates out and he unscrewed the hose from the valve, put some Teflon on the threads, screwed it back in, and charged me over $100. Okay, it was a few months out of warranty, so no big deal. Started smelling gas again within about 60 days. Called the guy again. This time he totally ignored me.A friend recommended Rob Wolff so I gave him a call. He came right over, identified the problem immediately (the whole hose that was screwed into the new valve was shot) so although it was well after dinner time, Rob left to get the parts came back made the repair and had me check it out and then turn the system on for good measure, and that’s where the horror story begins.Rob noticed that using the thermostat, I first turned the heater on, and then in a separate action, turned the blower on. He said it was not supposed to work that way so I explained what the other guy had told me about having to do it this way because of the new high-tech thermostat and Rob called Bravo-Sierra.He pulled off the cover to the electrical panel and discovered that the other guy had improperly rewired my heater when he installed the thermostat. The other guy had totally bypassed all safety mechanisms that the manufacturer had provided so that if anything had gone wrong, a fire would have certainly resulted. Rob worked until 10:00 p.m. to ensure the wiring was proper and he hooked the safety mechanisms back up that the other guy had so dangerously disconnected. The unit now works as it did before the other guy laid his hands on it.Needless to say, Rob Wolff has a new customer for life and I will always be confident that he is doing the job right!

    I had heard a lot of good things about Southern Temp Control, so when our upstairs AC stopped cooling I called and left a message on Saturday afternoon. It wasnt long after that I heard back from Rob. He came right out and quickly had the problem diagnosed and repaired.He showed me exactly what had caused the problem and provided a thorough explanation of how the defective part works and what caused it to fail.This is my new AC company. Hands down, the best Ive seen.

    We first called Rob after buying a used condo in San Marcos Tx. Rob showed up early and presenting himself in a very professional manner. We were concerned that we needed an entirely new unit due to the age of and lack of performance. Rob proceeded to do a thorough check of the unit. He suggested that even though the unit was approx 20 yrs old he felt that it was worth cleaning the unit before dumping 7 to $8 thousand into a new unit. Rob pulled the blower assembly and removed blower motor and wheel. He sprayed down wheel and assembly withcoil cleaner (Tri-PowrHD) this is a non-acidic, non-toxic, biodegradable and very safe to use and it’s a deodorizer as well. This is very important since I have a dog. He then checked air flow and system for proper operation. The efficiency went up close to 29%. The unit was working close to factory spec requirements. Apparently had not been cleaned in over 15 yrs. Rob also explains every step he is taking in the process. He has software that keeps records of all the recordings he is taking and can easily compare the readings from his last visit to the next.We also signed up for a maintenance service plan that has worked our tremendously. We dont have to worry about maintenance on the unit as Rob sends a reminder every 4-6 months to service the unit.I was ready and willing to spend the money for a new unit. I think 9 out of 10 technicians would have taken the easy sale and talked me into a new unit. This would have set me back approx $8000. I appreciate and respect Rob for his honesty and integrity. I would highly recommend Rob to anyone in the Tx hill country looking for fantastic heating and AC that you can trust. Thanks Rob, all businesses need more people like you. We consider you a FRIEND.

    AC quit working late Friday afternoon. Called Southern Temp control early Friday evening, talked to Robert and he was here 9:00 am Saturday morning. Within five minutes he had found the problem, fully discussed the problem with me and within fifteen minutes repaired the AC.     Rob is one of those people that are truly impassioned with their job. I had Rob come out to deal with my complex Trane system. Nothing wrong, but wanted to start a semi-annual maintenance plan.     On Saturday May 7, 2022 (our hottest day so far) our A/C unit stopped cooling. On a lark I googled Saturday A/C service near me. I was given SOUTHERN TEMP CONTROLS number. I called, left a message stating my problem, then went on looking at freestanding a/c units at Home Depot.Lo and behold, ten minutes later we received a call from Southern. I told them my sad tale and Rob was there in about 15 minutes. It took Rob about another 15 minutes to diagnose and remedy the problem. It was only a Chinese made start-up capacitor, but it was fixed. I used to do electrical service calls. I considered myself good, but Rob was great!

He gets the job done right the first time. Heres why he gained my confidence.30 MINUTES AFTER CALLING ON A SUNDAY afternoon, ROB WOLFF ARRIVED to fix my AC. 8 minutes later, the problem was repaired on my indoor unit!Being thorough, he checked the outdoor AC motor and fan and discovered that a replacement part installed two years ago by a local AC company was incorrect. He explained that because that part didnt fit the parameters for my AC unit, it could eventually cause my AC motor to fail necessitating me to buy a new one.I decided to pay him to install the correct part, which cost me $179 – duplicating the money I had already paid for that part and work that had been done previously by another company.After more research by me to determine who knew what they were talking about and initial resistance (like having the phone hung up in my ear), I called back and developed a nice rapport with the owner of the other company and received a refund for the part, not the service, and was only out $100.Rob Wolff delivered, and I know I can place my confidence in him.

In addition to that, in the process of discovery, bad welds leaking refrigerant were found, yet more evidence of poor installation work.
