The staff at University Pines is Wonderful! The property is also very pretty as well as having a nice pool.

I really enjoyed getting to be around the staff. They are so friendly and made me feel welcome. Honestly I feel if you dont like it come to the events they host Nd get the free food and info they give. They are expensive for old apartments but Claudius has helped me a lot and the staff are always there. Matthew is tough to get a hold off but Ill try get a hold of him again lol

I absolutely love the staff! All of the resident assistants are exceptional at their jobs. They are attentive, personable, and a great support system when you need them. The programs are also so good, each week is very different, and they also did the best haunted house ever. I love UPines!!!!!!!!!!

Overall Excellent living accommodations with a Very close Proximity to the main Campus, and it is a gated community also. There are plentiful activities such as a swimming pool, club house, and volleyball. The only real drawback is the apartments themselves are rather dated. Despite this, theyve been very well maintained and I have yet to find a nonfunctional appliance or feature.

I honestly love this complex , the staff is welcoming and will always treat you like a king . The rooms might be small but its college you do not need a big room to study but I can say if you need anything they are there to help. The apartments are a bit outdated but the service you get from staff is amazing. I enjoyed my brief experience here. Their help is worth more than the facility

  • Review 6 (2018-02-27 - Rating: 4)

While the rooms are a bit small, the location is perfect. Campus is literally across the street, and every building on campus is a 5-10 minuet walk away from the apartments. Even the art building is easy to get to. It also has a nice bit of foliage surrounding it. The walls are pretty thin, though, so I suggest renting an upstairs apartment. The kitchen is also rather small, and the apartment Im in, a 4 bedroom, has no light in the living room, so bring a spare lamp. The bathrooms are pretty good. They have the bathtub that doubles as a shower, so thats useful, espically since Im an art major. The staff and RAs are also very kind and helpful. Everyone is super friendly and easy to talk to. Make sure to bring stuff to decorate the walls. They are solid white. So are tge doors. It looks boring if left like it is. The location, however, is absolutely what you are paying for. Theres also always something going on. And, theres usually free food at events.

Jed is cool, when you call ask for him specifically.the staff is really helpful and understanding. And the rooms are very spacious depending how many people you are rooming with. The club house programs are a fun way to pass the time and overall Upines is a rad place to live.

My husband and I were very hesitant about the University Pines apartments at UT Tyler. Rent was high, our efficiency apartment would be small, and no-one seemed to know what was going on. We found another apartment and tried to cancel our lease but we couldnt... so we ended up stuck here. We couldnt be happier with where we ended up. Maintenance and Staff DOES always need in your apartment (every other week) but they never leave any signs of them being there and they always provide notice they are coming. If neighbors are noisy an RA is always on call to provide assistance. During a several day thunderstorm they even waded through several inches of water to get into our apartment to help us make sure we werent going to have a flood. Its a very nice safe neighborhood and conveniently close to campus. They definitely use the high rent charges to be sure you have plenty to do and nothing to worry about. Maintenance requests are almost always completed within 24 hours. WIFI... Wifi is just FINE! We have had issues once or twice with it being slow but thats it. We have not had to pay any more to get additional speed. My husband and I both use it to stream videos for class, FaceTime with family, and to do homework. We run 2 iPads, 2 phones, and a laptop off of it constantly. Next year we will not be moving across the street to save $200 a month. We will be permanent residents at UPines. (Cable does kind of suck with the new converter box).

Literally some of the best people I know live here! The apartments are decent and I have enjoyed the emmenities, but the best part of living at University Pines is due to the phenomenal service and friendships thanks to the staff. They genuinely care for the residents and go out of their way to ensure the best possible experience for those living or visiting at Upines. It is for sure one of the better options for freshman and a great place to start anew with new experiences and new friendships.10/10 would come again

If there are any issues, the staff will gladly help you and are very helpful and I’m very appreciative.

  • Review 11 (2012-04-19 - Rating: 4)

This place is awesome. While yes there are regulations; it is on campus, i.e. there are room inspections, no alcohol and drugs allowed, and you have to buy a meal plan. If you are a good/ law-abiding citizen, these make sense. The absolute positives are the RAs are some of the most friendly people on campus and they do their jobs not to be mean but to make your life on campus safe and a good experience. The management cares about its residents but they have so many they care about, so a hint is: if you pick up your room once a month and dont drink or smoke, your cool and they are awesome and want to help you. I love it here because the noise policy and there is always an RA and a Manager on call when you need them. Plus the maintainence people try to get all the work orders done as soon as possible. (At the begining of each semester that is about 3-4 days for non-property damaging issues and after about 2-3 weeks they do everything that day or the next. Can you say amazing!)

My daughter had to pull Ingres Charges for a couch. I do blame her for keeping a cat. I do not believe it should cost that much though. Besides te ridiculous Matthew prices , my daughter enjoyed her stay and attended the events they host weekly.. I do hope this service from the team stays te same. Also one big issue I noticed before transferring. Included is not art of te upines package so you better nights a extra $ 70. Besides that odi, ashley and garnet seem cool af

I originally lived in University Pines as an Undergraduate back in ye olden days of 2001-2004. Now as a Graduate student Ive decided to move back in.Im pleased to report that all the things I enjoyed about University Pines--great community, helpful management, convenient location--still hold true. Of course, theyve modernized and improved a lot of the facilities and processes since then. So Id definitely recommend the place to incoming students!

  • Review 14 (2018-02-08 - Rating: 5)

May be a pricey, but it is cozy to me. They do offer to work with your rent so that is good. Also liked how it is fairly new moving in rather than some other dorms and apartments. Also have activities so its not boring either.

  • Review 15 (2017-02-20 - Rating: 4)

Honestly, this place gets way worse a rep than it deserves. I will admit, water can take a bit of time to warm up depending what building you are in, but you learn how to deal with things like that. If youre gonna take a shower, start the water early, etc etc.Ive really enjoyed my time here. Its my first time on my own away from home and its been an amazing experience. When I need maintenance, they respond promptly and usually within a day or two. Ive yet to see the 5 days that has been claimed in the past. The only thing I can complain about is Ethostream and Suddenlink, which are separate companies that will be getting their own reviews.

  • Review 16 (2018-03-08 - Rating: 5)

Great people everyone is helpful and nice. My Ra was nice. The place is great but not much parking is really the only downfall. Its not as bad as the reviews. Its mainly a bunch of weak minded people that dont understand that some problems take a while to fix. If you have a problem the Ras will help as soon as they can But dont be an ass to them for trying to do there job. They have more going on than you think and not only school.

  • Review 17 (2022-06-18 - Rating: 5)

Great staff there and just a fun environment to be around. If your living there, and feeling down you should go see Jed in the office he will make your laugh. One of the best on campus living areas for UT Tyler.

  • Review 19 (2021-10-05 - Rating: 4)

The apartment needed minor repairs (Shower drain) (ice tray), but other than that it is perfect!! I live in a 2 bedroom 1 bathroom, and it is perfect for my roommate, my cat, and me!!

It was exactly what I needed for the time I was there. Jed and all the staff did everything I expected and more when I needed them. My favorite thing about living here though was that youre basically in class when you crawl out of bed lol.
