I lived in RVA during my first year at Rice, and it was an incredible experience overall. For any first-year student unfamiliar with Houston, its the perfect place to start. Here are a few things that made my stay at RVA great:1)Great neighborhood: Rice Village, where RVA is located, is one of the safest areas with lots of restaurants and cafes.2)Nice staff and RAs: The staff and RAs at RVA are supportive and friendly. They go out of their way to help residents as much as possible.3. Close to school: Its a 20-minute walk to the Rec Center, which is a nice bit of exercise, even though walking in Houston weather isnt always ideal.4. Community and safety: Since all residents and RAs are Rice students, and the dorm is operated by the school, everyone is willing to help each other. The Rice Police also patrol the area, which made me feel quite safe. Plus, there are many social events happening in the dorm, making it a great place to live.

I like this place. Firstly, its conveniently close to school, with shuttles arriving every 20 minutes. Secondly, the staff are exceptionally friendly and supportive. My 3-year-old lived with me, and both the RAs and managers were always warm, often greeting her and engaging in playful activities. Their kindness significantly enhanced our quality of life. Thirdly, its situated near various restaurants; you can easily stroll through Rice Village and enjoy the diverse culinary options available. Lastly, the area is very safe, with regular patrols by RUPD, contributing to a secure environment.

RVA is an excellent place to live. It is very close to RICE University. There is a free shuttle to campus all the time; you get a beautiful community in Rice Village with many restaurants nearby. Just a walking distance. Very safe neighborhood and calm. Loved it there for a year!

Id do anything to live here another year.In the market for Rice student apartments, it feels like the only options are chains that jack up their prices by calling themselves luxury or dingbats from the 70s, and none of them are close enough to campus to commute without a car. RVA offers very affordable rent, free and reliable shuttle transportation to RMC, and proximity to the many coffee shops and restaurants of Rice Village. The buildings pretty old, but its constantly being renovated; the vacant apartments are getting their kitchens completely redone right now. My roommate and I only had one roach and a few silverfish the whole year. The appliances are reliable and I never had to request maintenance on anything. The washer/dryers are communal and cost money per operation, which kinda sucked. Theres no gym or grocery store nearby, but the weekday shuttles stop at the rec center and theres a shopping shuttle to H-mart on Saturdays (I just ordered HEB delivery). The bedrooms are a bit small, my bed blocked my closet door, but the living rooms and kitchens are very spacious, and the showers have good water pressure and heat.If youre looking for well-maintained budget housing within walking distance of Rice, which first-year international students desperately need as they adjust to life in Houston, RGA and RVA seem to be the only viable options.

Ive been living at the property since 2021. Had a great experience. The staff, the location and management all were perfect. The proximity from Rice Village and the Rice Shuttle and accessibility from campus further add to the perks. Id highly recommend this place to all incoming Rice Graduate Students.

Life is good here. The management team at RVA is awesome. We lived here this past year and the staff was very attentive and responsive to our needs. Also the location is amazing being right next to Rice Village with all the restaurants and shops.

Great place to stay. Rent is slightly on the higher side. Laundry facility available at a reasonable cost. Water line is free. Free WiFi. Refreshment/play area with table tennis, pool table & a dozen board games... Very humble staffs.Parking is at a very low cost. Seperate parking garage for bicycles available. All corridors are well lit, well maintained with fans every 10 feet. Mostly double bedroom flats usually shared by 2 students, rarely occupied by families.A couple of 3 bedroom flats are available too.Bus to and from University every 10-15minutes free of cost for students and their dependants.Comes under the attendance area of Roberts elementary school.Rice village is like next door, where plenty of options available for food and shopping.Herman park, museum district, public library are within 2 miles from this place.Very peaceful and safe place for students.

Mostly, everything was pristine, although there were chips on the counter, missing veneer on the desk, and scratches on the floor. Those didnt bother me too much though. My main issue was the toilet--my roommate and I have called maintenance several times because the toilet does not flush properly, and when they come it usually works for a few hours before reverting back to how it was before. Otherwise, I love RVA!!

Thuy, the person in charge, is very sweet and helpful. RVA is located in a great area right next to the university, and social RAs host fun events for the residents.

Been living at RVA since 2019, and working directly with the current management made it possible to see how much they care and life in the building has improved exponentially these past years.

My first home in the U.S. but not the best. Looking back, the rent is too high compared to its living condition, but it has basic furniture, shuttle to Rice and 100+ TV channels in the room, thats very helpful to someone who just arrived

Its bigger and more modern than RGA... More luxurious appeal, if I do say so myself.

Close to shopping centers in walking distance. Two blocks away from rice University. Lots of students leaving around here, rent is affordable n its by few months to a year contracts.

A beautiful place to live in a sleepy part of Houston. Next to a bustling plaza, in a walkable shopping district.

Its close to the campus and has many friends, but its more expensive, theres a place to play billiards, table tennis, watch movies, and hand-made mini football
