Not a paid review -> Ive seen some negative comments on here so I wanted to share some good things Ive noticed.What earns 5 stars:The management (especially Christine) is great in a number of ways. They do their best to resolve whatever is within their control and do their best to help residents when they can. Example: Ive personally noticed with the skydeck that if some adults never learned to clean up after themselves, management will go clean it themselves, promptly. A lot of people complain about trash in the hallway. Its not managements fault some childish residents cant put their trash in the garbage shoot. If valet trash doesnt come around (happens once in a blue moon), management immediately takes care of it either personally or by checking in with the valet trash team.Also, maintenance is solid - super quick, accurate, and do what is within their power.Phase II apartment walls are solid. You can only hear a little loud music from neighbors if youre in the hallway, but nothing from within the apartment.What you need to be wary of if living here:The location (central & close to downtown) is notorious for thieves who want to take your stuff especially from your car/garage. So be careful. I learned my lesson the hard way- dont be me lol. Dont leave valuables in your car, or if you do, be ready. Not managements fault, though corporate MAA could definitely install a few more cameras to get a visual of the thieves.Packages can be stolen but this is not as much of a problem as most of your packages will be delivered safely into the package room pickup machines.Some of the residents are younger and party. If thats a serious concern, just knock on your potential future neighbors doors to get a quick sense of their personality. Ive never done this before, but I would if I had a problem with a louder crowd.Some areas have older carpet in the hallways that may stink - at least Ive read a few reviews saying so. Ive seen some carpets replaced since Ive lived here so Im sure the plans are underway and taking time. Check it out before moving into your unit.

I enjoyed my tour here at MAA south Lamar I worked with Arianna and Sadie and they were huge help on helping me find my needs. I didn’t end of moving here but they helped me find a place at a different location. Very professional and patient with me on my apartment search!

I’ve lived here for over a year and love this spot. Great location, tons of amenities and pretty affordable. Split between the two buildings are 3 pools, a few dog parks and a rooftop lounge. Management has been hosting social events which are always lovely. Any maintenance requests are always handled quickly and efficiently and I’ve had not a single issue with mail or packages, which seems to be a complaint with many friends in other apartment complexes around Austin.The leasing office staff is always so kind and welcome, happy to help me with any issue or give my puppy some extra love. Huge thank you to Christine, Ariana, Sarah, and everyone else in the office! Percy loves y’all!Edit 7/2/24:I’d love to add a shout out to the maintenance team. They are always so professional and quick to address any requests I submit. The staff members who helped my roommate and I when our AC was out from 6/23-6/25 were efficient and respectful to my home. They weren’t able to fix the AC for a couple days due to the breaker being fried, but set us up quickly with window air conditioning units so we were comfortable until everything was resolved. Thank you all so much!

My husband and I have lived here for 9 months and really like it. We just renewed our lease for another year. First the good… The location is spectacular. We got a great floor plan on the top floor of phase 1. The really tall ceilings make it feel spacious and not like you’re living in a box. Maintenance has been outstanding. So far they have taken care of every request within 24 hours. The custodial staff are friendly. The leasing office crew are super friendly and helpful. They shower our dog with pets and treats every time we stop by. They do cool tenant appreciation stuff about once a month. Usually it’s a goody bag or at Valentine’s they had a greeting card station and at Christmas they had a gift wrap station. Most tenants are friendly and rarely are there any noise issues. Someone mentioned fire alarms. Since moving here in July 2023, there hasn’t been a single fire alarm in phase 1. No idea what happens in phase 2. Now the negatives… The front elevator was out of order for 4 months. Living on the top floor, that was really annoying. They said the part was on back order. During that time the other elevators would go out as well. A lot of people don’t scoop their poop or don’t clean up the hallway if their little dog has an accident. It’s just common courtesy! They allow all breeds of dogs and typically agressive dog breeds are just that, agressive around other dogs. There’s a pitbull that lunges at my dog every time it sees my dog. I’m on edge each time the elevator door opens when walking my dog because its owner is usually looking at his phone when the door opens and I have to get my dog away to safety. Nothing personal, just apartment life probably isn’t best for these breeds. Lastly traffic is heavy on S Lamar so I wish the city would put in either a stoplight or at least a pedestrian light out front to make turning or crossing safer.Overall, the positives totally outweigh the negatives. This is the best apartment complex I’ve lived in out of about a dozen - this is the second apartment lease I’ve ever renewed. We are very happy living here!

The staff were very porfessional and the grounds were well kept considering the size of the complex. Apartment was ready on move in day and this apartment had a very good pet policy allowing my larger to dog to live there. Would recommend to anyone who wants a decent rate and close to down town living.

Sara was so helpful in finding me the right unit that fit my needs, and the whole management team was super polite and welcoming.. Especially their boss Candace, she runs the show. Very sweet, professional, and knows how to handle all of the chaos that comes with property management and keeping clients happy and safe. MAA South Lamar is the spot to be!

So I have been here a few years now and I can honestly say the experience now is better than its ever been. The staff in particular has been so helpful, informative , and well coordinated with events. As someone who has lived multiple cities over the years, I have never came across a nicer and more helpful staff. Sarah, Christine, Arianna, Sadie, Marissa, Tianna, and of course Candace have always been tremendously friendly, resourceful, and helpful with almost anything Ive asked for help with. The team seems to be doing more interactions, events, and tenant giveaways than ever. The location with easy access to a number of parks restaurants and other amenities makes it hard to beat.

She was very professional, nice and patient with me to ensure I made the right decision on my unit. MAA is very lucky to have her in the team and she brings a great vibe to this place. Been here for a year and I love it. Candace the property manager and her leasing agents Sadie, Christine & Areanna have been helpful with anything I needed during my lease. Super professional staff and accommodating. If you’re looking for a place close to down town with good management and don’t want to pay crazy money, I recommend MAA. Going to sign my lease for another year. 🙌🏻

A special recognition to Christine, Areanna and the managers for bringing back a smile to my face during my emergency, you are all amazing and most importantly, you helped me found an awesome unit, with a big closet, and with sunset view on the top floor !!! Thank you for welcoming me in your beautiful community and for making me feel special, and understanding my needs and priorities. You truly care for all the residents and future residents!!. You are the best!Also, I was so lucky to get approved after I applied in just minutes!, I was not expecting to be able to move on the same day!! This was totally a big deal for me due to my emergency, work commitments and business trips coming along...You saved my life and I will be forever grateful for the prompt action.The SoLa location is great! Walking distance from a lot of fun places! The roof top of MAA is my favorite thing so far, the view over downtown is breathtaking and the couches are so comfy to read a book or meditate! Having a covered garage and elevators is supper convenient so I can bring groceries to my apartment without getting wet if is raining, and no more lifting heavy bags to 4 floors through stairs (like it used to be at old place). I love the distribution of my apartment, the view, the gyms, the dogs parks, swimming pools, and business center with free coffee at any time! I am still learning how to walk inside the buildings without getting lost LOL but with the map you provided me, I think I am improving in just one week.

I resigned my lease for a second year but had to break it after a couple months to move cities. Overall I really enjoyed my apartment and the location!Pros:- Live in phase 2 of the complex. The building is nicer and apartments are renovated- The location is great- 3 pools and a good gym- Maintenance was quick to respond whenever I had a problem- Everyone I met that lived in the complex was super nice- I lived on the first floor and always felt safe. I never had issues with packages being stolen.Cons:- The dog park areas often smell bad- They offer trash valet but there were multiple times that my trash wasnt picked up- The fire alarms randomly go off and it sometimes lasted for over 10 minutes- The walls are very thin. I could hear my neighbors next to me, above me, and the people in the hall.

Had a great experience with Larry and Paul. They quickly fixed my maintenance requests and have followed up on multiple occasions to make sure everything is running smooth. When we moved in there were issues in the first week that lasted for months (dryer not working, ac leaks/not working, broken shelves). We were considering breaking the lease to move elsewhere, but things have definitely turned around recently, so big props to those guys!!!!!

So where do I start.....I LOVE this place so far. I love the fact that they have a dog park for my dogs to run and play. So working from home it can be hard to get out sometimes so it nice that they have one on property. When I get a break and can just walk down and let them have a break too. One of my other favorite things is that they have a well kept coffee maker that makes you whatever you want. (which helps when I need a boost) among many other things the staff, both Maintenance and Leasing Staff are Amazing! Beyond helpful. And I couldnt ask for a better place to choose as my home. Been here 3 months so far, and have no complaints.Thank you MAA South Lamar.l!!

Im not sure why this place has so many mediocre reviews, but its wonderful here. The folks in the office are super courteous and professional every time Ive spoken with them. My move-in process was made very easy and simple. The maintenance staff has been SUPER fast to respond to requests, even when theyre just little things that arent emergencies. You cant beat the location, the prices are comparable to other contemporary, mid-rises in the area, and the building is less than a decade old so in great condition. Remember that spoiled Karens and Chads out there like to complain about frivolous things more than other people will take the time to share positive experiences, so definitely be aware that any negative reviews on here do not reflect the majority of residents here. The amenities are great too: three pools and grilling areas, a rooftop terrace, a couple rec rooms with pool tables, a couple gyms, and a dog park. Theyre all maintained very well too.My only complaint, if anything, would be towards a few of the other residents, not the property or the management. Some of them are so young that they look like they just stopped breastfeeding yesterday, and they treat the hallways like its a dorm because theyre obviously the center of the universe and more important than the rest of us. Other residents are in their late 20s or 30s and understand how to be respectful and not self-absorbed. You might find beer cans lying around the halls sometimes on weekend mornings, but management is good about cleaning that up pretty fast. Its not most of the residents, so dont take this out of context. Just some. And this is a college town too, so that kind of thing happens anywhere you live in central Austin. Other than that, this place rocks and has some wonderful people and adorable dogs living here. Its a solid 5-stars for me!

This place gets a lot of bad reviews, but honestly it’s been great living here. The location is prime and the prices are great. The office staff is really nice.Definitely have heard seen some issues with car theft, but you have to keep in mind, that happens when you live inner city, anywhere.I recommend this property to anyone looking for something close to the city but wanting to save money.Nice pool gym and other amenities.

MAA South Lamar is a comeback story 2 years in the making from Post South Lamar. Office staff like Areanna, Daniel, Christine and the 2 maintenance staff Larry and Paul were a major factor. Theft, vandalism and faulty fire alarm noise is now near zero due to the initiative new management has taken. We receive frequent email updates, have hired security and also seem to have a much stronger emphasis on maintaining the amenities. Ive renewed my lease and may look at doing it a second time. This place has always looked like an upscale apartment complex, glad its starting to feel like one as well!

I moved here in July of 2017 in the new phase and Ive had a great experience with the staff. There were some new construction issues but Lucie, Michelle and the manager Lauryn have been outstanding to say the least. Any issue I have they are attentive and considerate! As far as the apartments, well, they are great but the walls are very thin and you can hear your neighbors. Aesthetics are nice and location is great, service requests are handled swiftly.

Ive lived at the Post South Lamar for 2 years and have very much enjoyed my experience! The complex recently brought on a new property manager named Angel and I cannot say enough kind words about him. He brings a level-headed approach to addressing any previous issues and is incredibly personable.Aside from usual and expected minor issues that may pop up here or there with every apartment complex, this place truly has been awesome. My roommate and I could not find another place that offers so many amenities such as parking, multiple pools & gyms, package lockers, smart home technology and is in this location for the price we pay. I had an issue with power in my room. I spoke to several people at the MAA hub and in the South Lamar office, until I came around Daniel.Daniel from the front office was extremely helpful with my issue. He did not only streamline it and take specialized personal attention to it, but he also constantly followed up with updates on the status of the apartment and the maintenance team.I would also like to note Larry’s work, who was the member of the maintenance team that went into my apartment and fixed the issue.Thank you very much Daniel and Larry for the involvement and attention to my issues.

This is by far the best apartment management I have ever had! The leasing agents and managers all go the extra mile to help you out. They are patient, always smiling, down to earth, but also make sure they get things done! I have spoken extensively with Angel, Tania, and Isaac and they follow through! PSL Phase 2 has a nice interior, smart climate control, lighting and door-lock, and the double-paned glass is really great for energy efficiency and noise suppression, also came with Google Fiber pre-installed. The value is great for the location: I was able to walk to Austin City Limits, Zilker Park, Ladybird Lake, South Congress, and tons of nearby restaurants.The amenities are really great (lounge, gym, pool, skyline view of Austin) and I really liked the vibe of the place. Community is really lively and can get rowdy. Expect a full pool with music and drinking. Garage is a bit tight but I guess it cant be helped, just drive carefully!Service was usually next day and valet trash was pretty nice too. Never had any pests or issues with utilities. You can hear your neighbors if theyre being loud but the community is pretty friendly. Although it is not advised to confront people for whatever, people were cool about noise in the late-hours when I asked for quiet; I think now they have a courtesy officer you can call.Staff is nice and helpful as they can be. Overall this place is awesome if you like being close to the action! Enjoy Post South Lamar Phase 2.

I am writing this review in order to praise the staff and property manager for making my move in smooth and with out any issues. Once I toured the property I knew that I wanted to call this place home. So I decide that I wanted to transfer from Colonial Grand at Onion creek. When I notified the staff at Post South Lamar about the transfer that were quick to getting me all the needed Information. I do believe with the new management and a few new staff members that have been brought on this property will be the best property that I have lived in.

I’ve only been living here for a month so far but I’ve throughly enjoyed my experience with the staff here. They’ve been very kind and quick to address my issues upon moving in. I had a couple damaged appliances that were replaced within a day or 2 of my maintenance request. Parking is ample, amenities are nice, and I haven’t had a noise issue yet.

Nice place to live if you want to be in a good area just shy of downtown. The apartments are clean and have nice high ceilings. There’s a great gym in each building and three pools to chose from on a hot day. Would certainly recommend.

I just moved in and am delighted with how responsive Nancy and the entire property management and maintenance team are. The apartment has a wonderful vibe and important advantages over the past few places that I have lived. Our unit has hardwood floors, high ceilings, lots of light, and is very spacious and pet friendly. Besides being in the middle of the fun side of South Austin, the apartment is also super close to downtown. Also, this is a great location for a small family because you can ride your bikes into the Zilker neighborhood. And its in a great AISD attendance zone (Zilker Elementary, O Henry Middle, Austin High).

This review is solely for the two maintenance crew members, Larry and Paul. Not only did they responded quickly to an issue I was having in with my unit, but they also checked in regularly (via phone and in-person ) for weeks afterwards to ensure that it had remained resolved and to see if there was any other things that they could fix while there. They were awesome so five star to those two.

Management and staff are very nice and always willing to help you out. Feels very safe and residents are always informed of things happening within the apartment and community.

I just took an amazing tour with Christine. She was extremely knowledgable and super fun to tour with! I loved the vibe throughout the entire Phase 2 building, minus the unit next.to the models, with the obnoxious dog. It was hard to talk and hear Christine tell me about the amenities and perks of this property. The unit I saw I have decided against due to this inconvenience. But, in all, Christine was amazing and my overall experience was fun and interesting.

The staff here have responded timely to maintenance and accommodation requests, and I appreciate all the things they do day to day that are not always noticed, too. The occasional minor holiday or just-because-its-Thursday bit of communal outreach is nice.

I’ve been living at the post for a few months now thanks to the help of Smart City. Tj was awesome and very helpful during my move. Honestly I couldn’t be happier. The location is prime not too far from DT but not too close either. I haven’t had any issues with neighbors, everyone seems to be really friendly.
