Post Move Out ReviewWe lived at MAA for about 2.5 years. Overall we had a very positive experience for apartment living.Maintenance: The team is amazing and VERY quick to respond. The general turn around time for us was about 2 days, but we also had a few times where we submitted things in the morning and they were there in the afternoon.Staff: They were always pleasant and helpful, we never had any issues. They also like to throw small community events which were great to stop by just to say hi and grab a snack.Amenities: We didn’t choose MAA for the amenities and didn’t use them much except for the pool. The pool is on the smaller side and gets used a lot during the summer. It also can get dirty very quickly but the maintenance tries their best to keep up with it daily.Cleanliness: The maintenance team does a good job of taking care of the community from landscaping to picking up trash. The only place that can get out of hand is near the trash bin or in the pool are from resident use. In general this never really bothered us.Safety and Security: We never had any issues, if there is something going on that the staff wants to address you’ll know about it. There is a patrol car that drives through occasionally and there is an after hours hotline you can call if there are issues. Your car will get towed if it’s not registered and you or your guests park in places where you shouldn’t.The Apartment: It is an older apartment in terms of “upgrades” but that was fine with us for the price point. We appreciated the tech upgrades, the garden tub, having a garage, and the high ceilings. We were on a second floor, never really heard our neighbors. Our building was pretty quiet.Overall we would live here again, it’s the staff that make the biggest difference!

I loved living here! The office staff is incredibly friendly, and helped me out so much during my tenancy at Onion Creek. My neighbors were some of the friendliest people I know. You can rely on the office management; unlike other complexes. I lived in a 2x2 and it was incredibly spacious, and had great amenities! They’re strict about parking (a plus), they’re pet friendly, and the complex is right up against a green belt so you get a lot of cool encounters with some friendly animals. I will say, when you’re setting up your internet, get a tech to come out because the internet is a little wonky due to the age of the building’s infrastructure. Otherwise, it was a great place to call home, and I highly recommend!

I just moved in with my boyfriend and our 2 pups. Let me say this is the best Ive seen maintenance in any apartment complex living in Austin. Super spacious & a nice tub/shower. Great price and 1 month free! The front staff has got you covered, so patient and willing to go out of their way to really make you feel like this is the home for you! 🥰 I couldnt pick any other place to talk so highly of but here. Oh yeah! Also its so close to Buda, restaurants & shopping areas! Its literally a dream.

I thoroughly enjoyed the time I lived at MAA Onion Creek. Kayleigh walked me through the entire move-in process. Shes very professional, knowledgeable, and was so helpful in answering all of my questions in a quick manner. As someone in the industry, I recognize all of her hard work and see how integral she is in the office. She would make a wonderful property manager one day. The maintenance team was also very professional and quick at work orders. The property is well kept, landscaping is beautiful, and the trails behind the apartment are great for dog walking. The apartments themselves are spacious, high ceilings, and modern furnishing. Great pricing for their apartments and you will not regret living here!!

POST MOVE IN UPDATE: Love my new home!! Nick, Marcela, Kayleigh & the MAA team truly went above and beyond to make sure any small imperfections & small upgrades were done at the time of move in. I was worried about noise being so close to 35 but it’s super quiet and safe. The property & pool are well maintained and gorgeous with beautiful plants through out the property.Thank you so much Nick, Marcela, Kayleigh & Team for making me feel right at home!MAA Onion Creek apartments are beautiful! Super excited to move here in a few weeks. Marcela went above and beyond to make sure this move in process is smooth and easy. Staff is professional and quick to respond. If Anyone Wants a Place that’s Nice and In a Good area. The People are Nice, safe Area about 18 min Out of Downtown. Such a Great Crew of Ppl that Work here. They Have a Nice Pool they keep up with, a Gym u Can Use that’s 24/7 by the Pool, also A Grill next to the Pool for those Savey to BBQ.They are Good in keeping up With maintenance, washer & Dryer in Each apartment. Love this Place so far about a Yr in, best Appt Ive Stayed in hands Down. Love the crew of ppl and Nice environment living here.

MAA Onion Creek is a great place to live! It’s quiet yet close enough to comfort to go do different activities in the Austin area. The complex is kept relatively clean and neat, and the landscaping and maintenance team are friendly. I like that I never struggle to find parking in front of my unit, and the complex is safe to where I don’t have to worry about my car at night. While I feel there could be more preventative maintenance/check ins done they do a great job to right any wrongs. For example: My AC unit needed to be replaced honestly prior to me moving in, along with some of the flooring; however, the team hopped on it to replace the AC and refunded me part on my rent to make up for the difference. I also wish that the guest parking wasn’t so tight as a majority of my friends that visit cannot seem to fit in the spots; or cannot get out of their vehicle when they have (and have to climb through their trunk lol). Overall, the office team does a great job at communicating and keeping residents updated on things happening in the complex whether it’s safety, repairs, or events- and they also follow through on requests. Marcela and Jeremy do a wonderful job at taking care of their residents; great on responding to emails and voicemails with very professional yet friendly communications. I look forward to living another year here!

The staff is THE most helpful of any complex I’ve ever lived! (Special thanks to Kayleigh). So kind and genuinely go out of their way to help you solve your problems. We love these apartments we were with this company in Nevada and loved them so much we applied here and have stayed with them for over 3 years. We have had a few hiccups but still the staff was always helpful and quick when correcting any mistakes made. We are now transferring to a 3 bedroom for more space for our growing family. We almost left to somewhere new but the staff was just absolutely amazing throughout the process keeping us informed with any decisions we made. We decided to stay for a bit longer! Thank you most of all to the ast. Manager Kaylee for hearing all of our concerns and helping us through it and also the rest of the staff Marcela for helping make it a smooth transition and Nick the manager. You are all appreciated !! 😊

Since the first time that we met Nick Palomino he has been a pleasure to work with. He helped us all way through to the actual date that we moved in. Every time that we have had a request it has been filled promptly and accurately. We moved on the third week of May and thanks to Nick and his wonderful staff everything went and is still going nice and smooth. His staff works very hard to keep the promises and everything nice and clean. Its not an easy job. His staff is friendly and willing to help every time.So far it has been the right move for us. Living in a big house all our lives, the decision to move here was not made lightly. We commend Nick and his staff for helping us from the very beginning.We look forward to live here for years to come.

I will always appreciate her taking the time to listen to me and help me.

I love living here. The office employees are always really helpful, and remember you by name! Any time I have had an issue with a light that needs replacing or anything work order related, they are on it. Im even on a first name basis with Mike, the maintenance guy. He always asks me when he sees me if I need anything. Everyone who works here is super nice.The grounds are beautiful and there are plenty of places to walk your dog. They even supply doggy poop bags for you to pick up after your pet. Its quiet, pretty, and the pool is nice and big with plenty of seating and tables. Theres also 2 gas BBQ pits for you to use free of charge. Did I mention the 24 hour gym? All in all, theyve been exceptional during my experience here.

I have lived in this community for nearly three years. This is the first complex I have renewed leases in and thats because I have truly enjoyed my experience. The office staff is quick to answer questions and get back to you. The community is clean and landscapes are well kept. I love the style of my apartment - great size for my son and I. The appliances are fine. There is a great community of dog owners that frequent the dog park. Walking distance to a convenient store and short driving distance to HEB and South Park Meadows. I would recommend this place to anyone! Thanks for having us!

Overall, I had a very good experience living here. I would recommend this place to anyone. Beautiful place to live, gorgeous pool and spacious gym, family-friendly environment, close access to the highway, extremely good at responding to service requests quickly.My only drawbacks are:Price is a bit higher than what Ive seen, given the distance from downtown. (However, this distance also means you see fewer break-ins and package thefts).Limited parking / app requirement to log each time a visitor parks. Ive had issues with the app at first, and my friend got towed. Make sure that the app is working properly beforehand and be very careful when entering the license plate information - this tow company tows frequently.

MAA at Onion Creek is such a nice community. It is set right off the highway in SW Austin. The community is quiet and well kept. Maintenance is quick to handle your requests and keeps you updated every step of the way. Management is very nice and friendly every time I contact the office. This property is more than just an apartment complex-it truly is a home.

I currently live here and love this place. I have not had problems with the management or maintenance staff. All staff have been helpful with all my requests and questions. Under a new manager and Angel is great to work with.Before moving in I saw the reviews and was skeptical of the lower score but this has turned out to be a good place to live. Many reviews were mostly about limited parking but that is everywhere in Austin. I feel I got lucky with where my building is located because I have a garage and parking is always available around me with extra parking by the front office and the side of the road. I am aware it’s may not like that across the whole complex but it’s something to plan for when you move in. Towing is most definitely enforced in resident parking and if not registered for the visitor parking but it’s no secret. Anyone that gets towed should have already known their car wasn’t going to be there in the morning and it’s not anyone else’s fault. Many apt complexes have this as a default and tell you from the beginning.I’m on first floor and do have to update that little bugs do get in through the cracks mostly around the rainy spring time. Maintenance tried to help with pest control but nature happens. As this complex has a lot of nature around it and deer and other animals can be seen around the land. The sunsets are beautiful with the onion creek greenbelt behind the complex and I love the pool area. Close to the highway and South Park shopping center. Slightly annoyed that traffic from I-35 can be heard occasionally and taking your own trash to the dumpster can be a pain.(Tried to give a thorough updated review and will say that I am happy living here and I have renewed my lease).

We have only been here a week and we love it so far. Much quieter and cleaner than we previously were. The ladies in the office have been amazing since the first time we toured, super helpful and very communicative. Lots of green space for our dogs and a nice little dog park. Recommend if you want a quiet place in the city but further out and still close to a lot of shops and restaurants.

I lived here for 4 years, in the process of moving out (I just bought my first house!!) There were issues over the years with parking and a frustrating office BUT new management came in and it is so much better!! The maintenance crew is on top of everything, they really saved us and helped out a lot during the major winter storm in 2021. Trash compactor is terrible but I don’t think they can do anything about it. I was tempted to leave a few times but the front office really changed things.

I honestly have to say that I am really happy to be a resident here at Colonial Grand Onion Creek. Everytime I submit a work order it gets taken care of right away. The property is super clean all the time and kept up. Specially the landscaping. I love it when friends and family come visit me and say how much they love my apartment and how great the property looks. I cant wait until the pool is open so I can use the grill and go swimming! I would recommend this place 100% 👌🏽

Moved in about 4-5 months ago. My boyfriend and I had moved from a bad area where the apartment and tenants were treated terribly and nothing was ever taken care of, no matter how many times you voiced your concerns. This apartment has been nothing short of amazing for us. We used Smart City Apartment locaters to help us since we were moving from North Austin to South Austin. Once we toured the apartments with Brayden, we both fell in love. We did wait a couple weeks before making our decision, and we have not regretted it. We have not dealt with the parking situations because we got an apartment with a garage and driveway to park our cars. The office and maintenance are quick to respond and help as needed. Its a different atmosphere from before since we constantly had problems that were never taken care of. And now, our requests get fixed within the same day. We definitely appreciate this apartment complex and of course they are Pitbull friendly, which is a major plus!

The process for applying for an apartment was easy and painless. You get an immediate response and move in was a breeze. I was grateful the process was easy and simple. Brianna and the other ladies in the front office are very sweet and nice. Any issues that come up the maintenance guys respond quickly and take care of things that same day. So far I am enjoying living here.

These apartments arent bad. The staff was always friendly and recognized me when I walked into the office. The parking is terrible, luckily I had a unit towards the front so there was more parking availability for me, but there were plenty of nights where I still had to walk from the other side of the complex because there was literally zero spots to choose from. If the parking situation wasnt so terrible, I wouldve enjoyed living here A LOT more. Also, the extra fees added each month were annoying. Im not sure what extra government charges are that were added to my rent each month, but I dont think I have experienced that before.

I am moved to review this complex because I dont think the current rating does it justice! Very nice grounds. 10 miles from downtown. Zoned to AWESOME elementary school, and very reasonable. The front office is awesome and the maintenance men are also prompt and super helpful. The views are amazing and the pool area is relaxing in the evenings and hopping during the day! MOVE IN NOW!

I moved in not knowing what to expect since I was new to Austin and didnt know the area, but its been great here. Great location. I frequently travel out of town so being close to the highway is great. The property backs up to Onion Creek so it is quiet and serene. We are a mile from 2 shopping centers. One north in Austin and one south in Buda. Great place to live.

I have lived here for about a month. Yes the parking can get bad, but that is the only complaint. The office staff is very friendly. It has a great view and location especially if you need to travel south 35 you will always avoid the traffic. Rent is a great price and the amount of apartment you get for your dollar is amazing.

When I lived here 2013-2015 the staff and complex was awesome. It was under Janie and they had just switched to MAA management.The complex was always kept up nicely, maintenance was timely and the office staff was helpful.My only complaint was parking which was awful at first but once parking permits were implemented it helped a lot. In addition people speed through the the parking lot, but I believe they have speed bumps now to remedy the situation. People also left their trash outside the compactor because they were too lazy or stupid to work the door handle.The pool always looked great and the gym, though it occasionally had unsupervised children/teens was usually kept stocked with disinfecting wipes and the equipment worked.

Im surprised at the amount of negative reviews here. I only have one major issue with living here: parking.If you get home anytime after 9pm on weekdays, good luck finding a spot. There have been times where I have circled around multiple times and found nothing, Ive had to park on the other side of the complex from my apt (Im already in the back in building 19, I had to park on the other side of the leasing office outside building 2, its about a 10 minute walk...with groceries, making multiple trips....), Ive had my car towed from here bc one night there wasnt any parking available AT ALL so I parked in a handicap spot as it was my only option, Ive even decided against leaving for dinner before so as not to lose my spot. The parking situation is terrible during the week. But, although I dont really interact with any neighbors, the complex must be mostly young people because on the weekends there are almost always spots no matter what time you come home.The complaints about the trash are somewhat valid; but it has gotten better. Ive lived here for almost a full year and the first several months the compactor would go out probably once a month or so. Since about March or April I dont think Ive noticed it out at all (its now July).The pool is nice and has a nice shallow part for kids to wade in or just get your feet wet. It isnt deep, only about 4ft 7in I think? The area around the pool is awesome. There are two cabanas, lots of chairs, and even an outdoor fireplace/grill right inside the pool area. I grew up with a pool and know how hard it is to keep it spotless.. So yea, there are usually leaves or bugs in it, but its a pool surrounded by trees along the greenbelt... what do you expect? However, my bigger complaint with the pool is now that its summer it seems to be closed randomly for multiple days at a time for no apparent reason. Its been closed for the past 3 days in preparation for 4th of July weekend and higher than normal use. I dont understand why they need 3 days to prep the pool, especially when it was just closed for 3 days last week for who knows what reason.My appliances are nice and updated, I have an in-unit washer/dryer, I have ceiling fans in my bedroom and living room, I never hear a peep out of any of my neighbors- the soundproofing here is fantastic, and my carpet is in ok shape. I dont have any bugs or pests (save for the little toad that must live in the bushes by my door and greets me everyday), and Ive never felt unsafe in any way here. It is a bit of a commute in the morning because traffic in Austin is horrendous, but if you dont mind dealing with the 45-60 minute drive to/from downtown in rush hour, then I say live here. The staff is nice, the apt is in good shape, its affordable, its quiet, I am very happy here.

My fiancé and I have lived here for 5 years and have loved it! We’ve grown our family adding 2 dogs and a baby in our time here. There is tons of greenery where we can take them all out to play in. We’re close to Southpark Meadows and Buda for easy access to shopping, walking trails and parks. Management is amazing and maintenance is quick to get requests completed!

I wouldnt say the stuff here is cheaply made, its just a 10 year old complex so some of it is outdated/starting to show its wear. No reasonably priced complex is going to have top of the line products that never fail on you. Its just very generic-apartment-eyAll in all its a pretty fair price compared to some of the complexes in the same location. We got more space for less money here versus The Landing which is right across the street.The agent who showed us around the first time was great, he told us about all the extra monthly fees right up front so there were no surprises. Hes no longer here and as far as the staff now, Ive never had to deal with them which I consider a good thing. All the rent and maintenance requests are submitted online and Ive never had to complain about a neighbor because its a very quiet community.The things that went wrong here are just things that literally go wrong everywhere!- Our dryer and AC went out and both were fixed within the week.-The walls/floors are somewhat thin to where we could hear our downstairs neighbor cheering when he watched sports in the middle of the day on weekends but other than that, we had no noise problems when it came time to sleep.-You may not get the parking spot directly in front of your door if you come home after 10pm but if you get home anytime before then its wide open.-Theres only one dumpster on site which I can see why some people would be annoyed, but I lived in the back and it honestly is not a big deal to put your trash in/on the trunk and drive it down there on your way out.When it comes to apartments in Austin, you cant expect champagne on a beer budget (as my boss would say lol) so you have to look at the important things and this place hits them all for me: quiet, quick maintenance, no crime, close to the grocery and I-35, more space for less.

I’ve lived here for 2 years and I love it. I haven’t had any issues, my neighbors are all nice, I could go on n on about why I love this place but I’ll keep it short n sweet, great area, great staff, great community. Its aMAAzing

I know Ive seen negative comments but the staff is always so nice and when I send them an email regarding something they always email back. The only downfall is parking at night. Ive had to park on the street plenty of times and walk to my apartment late at night when coming home from work. Other than that noise level is normal, the rent for the space you get is great!

Very clean. Very helpful staff. Apartments are good size for the price. Close to southpark meadows, movie theaters, markets, and shops. Amenities and events in the club house area always available and fun. Highly recommended for south Austin living.

From the first time I stepped into the office to the last time when I discussed moving out day, it has been an utter delight to interact with the friendly and professional staff here. They have responded promptly to every request, whether it be a maintenace call or to print out something for me since I have no printer at home.In terms of the facilties and grounds, what can I say but beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. This whole complex is bordered by Old San Antonio Greenbelt to the south, so our neighbors are gorgeous trees and open space. In terms of the landscaping, if you like flowers and well-maintained shrubs, trees, and grass, youve found it here. I also use the pool regularly as well as the workout room. They are both terrific. The pool ambience is like a 5-star resort with all the chairs, chaise lounges, umbrellas, a grill area and more beautiful landscaping.One other thing, the realtors favorite phrase: location, location, location. CGOC is near ALL the shopping, restaurants, and grocery stores youd want. There are probably about 100 stores within 5 minutes drive at Southpark Meadows and nearby, including a great movie theater (Cinemark) to visit on hot summer days. I am so glad I chose to live here. It has been a blessing and a joy. Thank you to everyone at CGOC for making my time in Texas so awesome!

I recently relocated to Austin from East Texas, due to transferring with my employer. As this was a major move for me, I searched for apartments based upon my employer’s zip code. There were quite a few to choose from, but a coworker who transferred from East Texas told me about Colonial Grand at Onion Creek and highly recommended this property. The amenities were everything I was looking for, 15 minutes from the job, but the reviews terrified me. I called and spoke with a very nice gentleman, Brayden Beynaergs, who was knowledgeable in his job and handled everything in a professional manner. I completed the application online that morning and received approval that afternoon. Mind you, I have never in my life selected a place to live without seeing it first. My move in date was set for July 7th. First, the apartment was everything plus more than I expected. The location is everything, as it is amidst lots of shopping and restaurants. Brayden took his time to make sure everything was in order for me by the time the apartment was ready for me to move in. As far as the other reviews, the property is beautiful, well kept, no trash, I’ve had no problems with neighbors, its quiet and have seen no bugs. I would highly recommend this Colonial Grand at Onion Creek, as I have learned from past experience, you can’t always believe everything you read. Thanks Brayden for everything.

The lands and rooms are above average, the neighborhood is pretty quiet, the maintenance crew is super friendly and quick, the office staff is nice enough. Now, the pool is small and has very hot water in the summer, the staff doesnt do an amazing job of keeping it clean as its always got hair and little nasties floating in it. I would never swim in it, but my wife does because shes got big cahones... The restroom by the pool and gym is constantly out of TP and needing attention... The trash service doesnt come often enough, so every sunday theres 50+ garbage bags sitting by the dumpster and its freakin gross. The office staff doesnt do an adequate job of helping with grounds maintenance. For example, my lazy neighbors fill up the trash cans around the bbq pits with their regular garbage to the point of overflowing instead of walking to the actual garbage bin.. same with the dog turd cans and the trashcan near the mailboxes for spam mail. Office staff should get outside on a golf cart and help in this area, as well as the regular litter in the streets and in the grass. Its a shame that ppl litter as its a really pretty complex, and i regularly pick up garbage while running. overall though, i do like living here. When i resigned i found out my rent was going up, above what a new tenant would pay... i haggled them down to less than that, but the argument went something like this well its only 650$ a year. thats cheaper than you could move for .. uhumm. thx lady. recap: beautiful property, 30 min - 50 min commute to mopac and 71, nice staff, on the cusp of being top notch, trash issue, new complex going in right across the street, you can pay less for a mortgage then rent here fyi.My wife and I really do like living here out of the hustle and bustle of the stinky city, and we enjoy the spacious layout of the apt. and having a garage for our stuff. Sometimes we see cool things from nature like a skink, deer often, turkey once, HUGE stickbugs, armadillos recently, and hawks all the time. The staff that are jerks mentioned in the older reviews have been replaced with much nicer folks, BUt the mgr is still there.. corruption starts at the top and revolution from the bottom, so well see if it sticks.
