Beautiful property, great amenities. A few inconveniences such as the key fobs, the back gate being an exit-only (so you have to drive a while to get to your building if you live in the back), the annoying Amazon lockers (be aware if youre unable to go down there due to injury, they will not deliver to your door), and an annoying parking app, but good nonetheless. Fabulous maintenance team and lovely office staff.Had quite a rocky move-in, but be aware they are making changes to better this property. The new team just took over late last year (Oct./Nov. 2024?), and they have plans to do preventative maintenance in the coming months. The old owners left this place quite a wreck, but theyre making headway. It is genuinely surprising that such a gem of a community was a little neglected, so the owners and management team have a bit of a project ahead of them, but this is good for you! It means its inexpensive for the area. The team is working to return the community to its former glory and I remain ever jealous, because the owners must have gotten this community at a really good price, so you should consider renting here while its still a decent price!Oh and barking dogs are a qualm for me as well, but it isnt too terribly excessive. No loud children, no loud music from cars passing through; a few solicitors, but its not like flyers are dangerous.Do check your unit before moving in. I was a little perturbed by the lack of sunshine, but thats only because the balcony is so large (which is a good thing), its hard for sunlight to come further into the apartment. Not a complaint, just something to make you aware of if you enjoy natural light. Maybe opt for a unit with a smaller balcony.

I have been living at Sonterra Heights for the past 7 months, and I couldnt be happier with my experience! From the moment I moved in, Angelica, the manager, made me feel welcome and valued. She is incredibly attentive and always goes above and beyond to ensure that residents needs are met.Arionne, in the office, is another gem! She is friendly, efficient, and has always been quick to assist with any questions or concerns Ive had. The level of customer service here truly sets this complex apart.The amenities are fantastic, the community is friendly, and the overall atmosphere feels like home. I highly recommend it here to anyone looking for a great place to live!Thank you, Angelica and Arionne, for making my stay so enjoyable!

I been living here for Three Years and it’s been wonderful. I never had any issues with anybody, the management has helped me with anything I needed. I recently had a fridge outage due to a bad storm, and the front office did their best to fix it in time even though it was unexpected. I just got my key fobs today and the lady upfront was very nice and helpful even though she was the only one. Thank you to all the maintenance and everyone who works upfront for doing their best to make Sonterra Heights a great place to live at. Happy Holidays!!! Happy New Year!!

23 September 2024I am so impressed at how neat & clean the recycling area (and trash receptacle) look!!!It’s truly inspiring to have it be so tidy! Great job and please keep up the good work! We thought that the blinds including patio doors were beyond repair & would have to be replaced. Chuck quickly & skillfully replaced the four missing panels. Next he installed a new security peep hole on the front door. Feel so much safer now! He finished off by making certain that the non-functioning electrical outlet worked. The public sidewalk outside of the grounds used to have a lot of litter but I walked it yesterday and I could not find a bottle cap of litter! I joined him in March. What we like the most about living here are the 100-year-old oak trees, the safe location & the proximity to so many restaurants and stores. It is also very quiet here and the folks are friendly.The reason I am writing today is to express our gratitude about how maintenance requests are dealt with.The ceiling fan lights worked but the fan itself would not circulate the air so we submitted a work order.We arrived here late last night. After being gone several days & an impending thunderstorm contributing to high humidity, we prayed that the ceiling fan had been repaired When we unlocked the door, it was stuffy but we were able to turn on a brand new ceiling fan!Then this morning the gentleman from maintenance (Eddie) stopped & confirmed everything was working correctly with the ceiling fan: lights, blades & switches (able to turn on with both pull strings & wall switches).We just really appreciate the level of service here and wanted to take the time to acknowledge that your level of dedication and thoroughness is admirable.Monica R. I really appreciate Eddie on maintenance! Hes so friendly & professional, came in to help move washer that was blocking the laundry door, & unexpectedly did a wonderful job fixing my lights, they had to be rewired, in my nursery. Last time they said the whole thing had to be taken out, but he fixed it in a few minutes. Definitely would recommend him to fix anything!

I got an email as a thank you for being here 6 months, and I didnt even realize its already been that long. We have enjoyed our stay here from the friendly attitude of the ladies in the front office, to the hard working maintenance team. Each one of them works hard at their position. The large apartment gym and beautiful pool is a plus. We will be renewing another lease when the time comes.

I am writing to express my profound appreciation for the outstanding professionalism and expertise demonstrated by Eddie and the maintenance new manager during our recent emergency incident. In the middle of the night, they responded to our emergency call with urgency and diligence. Upon arrival, they conducted a thorough assessment of the damages cause by my water heater that had caught on fire. They managed to take pictures which expedited the replacement of our new water heater. It is employees like Eddie and Pelar who embody the core values of Sonterra. I was walking underneath a carport and noticed a baby bird had fallen from the nest, and was hanging from one leg on the top rafter. I took a picture to send to maintenance, but thought it might be faster if I walked around to try and find someone. Eddy and Ivan dropped what they were doing and grabbed a ladder to try and get this bird. Ivan had to climb to the top of the ladder, step up into the brace to reach this bird, push its leg out from where it was stuck, and get it back into the nest on the highest point of the ceiling. Thanks guys, you were awesome !!

I moved here 3 months ago. The apartment is in good condition and the office staff is very kind. Sarah is amazing and I wish every employee in the office was like her. Maintenance is a little slow but they take care of the request and I never need to call them for a second time on the same issue. Which is unheard of in Stone Oak. I am a happy resident:)

I’ve been here for about three months, and I love this place! The apartments are beautiful and everything is in good working order. A great affordable option for the area. The office staff is wonderful and accommodating. The Amazon Hub keeps your packages safe. I’ve never seen a bug or insect inside of my apartment, and that is saying something for living in San Antonio. We do feel safe here. The only complaint I have is that the valet trash service often doesn’t show up when they are supposed to, nor do they take away broken down boxes as agreed to. They’ve also broken my trash can and left it in pieces. That would be the fault of the contractor they work with - not the apartment. But it seems to be an ongoing problem you will want to consider. Other than that, it’s really a great quiet community. I see myself living here for the next few years as I save for home ownership.

Absolutely love everything about this apartment and community. Very friendly staff who are easy to contact and are responsive to any needs or questions we have. It all started with Destiny, she followed up with us every minute, gave us a great tour and was very helpful and knowledgeable. Any questions that we had she answered immediately. So far, everything has been as promised and Destiny is still very helpful and most importantly very accessible. Even during this pandemic, they have gone above and beyond to make us feel safe. I would highly recommend to anyone looking to move here! They are great affordable apartments that are well maintained and come with excellent customer service!

The current property manager, Dayrise, is a big improvement over Lincoln Properties, the previous management company. When Dayrise came and took over from Lincoln Properties they inherited a very difficult situation, with all previous maintenance staff gone, and during a period when it was very difficult to hire any kind of reliable staff in San Antonio, the period shortly after the Covid pandemic. Dayrise made a big comeback, and after many difficult challenges, eventually got their act together. After several initial staff changes, they have finally assembled a reliable crew. Additionally, they have made major upgrades to the property, including a complete attractive paint job for every building in the entire property, even the car ports, installed new bright lighting in all entrys, stairwells and breezeways, organized a much improved maintenance staff with maintenance men that actually know what they are doing, performed a general clean up of the entire property and upgrade to the parking situation, including upgraded entry and exit gates. Sarah Halverstadt has been doing a great job, and is a total professoinal. After seven years residing at this complex I was seriously considering leaving, but it was the kindness and consideration of Sarah that made me rethink any thoughs of making a move. I signed on to another 15 month lease just recently. - JERALD BARISANO

Marissa has the best costumer service. I appreciate how helpful she’s been throughout my leasing process. She goes above and beyond. Upon moving in my dog dead bolted my door causing me to be locked out of my apartment. She was so helpful and stayed late to make sure I could get back in my apartment. She’s very nice and friendly.Whatever you’re paying her she deserves double.

When moving in there were a couple of minor set backs, for instance the day of move in we found out that the cabinets were not yet installed, but they were completed the following business day. We also did not get clickers for the gate, because they had run out, but also received those within the first month. Overall, the apartment is great. There is quite a bit of noise being off of Stone Oak and the traffic is usually a pain especially during rush hours, but not that big of a deal. We did want a garage in our building but they dont have any available and the parking spaces can be taken. We have parked in guest parking before due to none being available. The only cosmetic issue that I think needs some resolving is the flooding right at the gate entrance to the left when it rains. Its really gross looking and it sometimes smells like sewage in the parking lot after a lot of rain. Overall, I would say its a great place to live. Its very comfortable and has a sense of home.

Sonterra Heights is a great place to live! The manager Julie is always very kind and considerate, easy to talk to, and diligent along with the rest of her staff. All the employees have always been very understanding and helpful, regardless of the issue. After nearly 7 months now, I can honestly say it has been money well spent and I will definitely be renewing my lease here!

My husband and I lived this awesome location-walk to Trader Joe’s, super easy to access 1604 & 281-for 8 years and have seen many property managers before Lorena Zamora took over. She is by far the BEST!! Always available and very good at following up if you need something and is so friendly and always makes herself available. She is very much on top of everything. Jennifer and Destinee and other staff are also wonderful, and so willing to take care of any needs and display great hospitality. I hope that they stay for a long time.The maintenance team does a wonderful job as well. I will miss you all.And I have to say this, thank you so much the regional manager Stacie! We have been working with Stacie who has been a joy! I wont forget her great help.

We love it here! Im not sure what all the crazy comments about management are for, but Julie and Taylor are some of the nicest people we have ever met! All of the staff seem to love working here, which says a lot about the atmosphere. Every person I know who lives here, has lived here for years and they have loved every one. We have had zero major problems and typical maintenance problems have been resolved swiftly. The updates to all the apartments are awesome and I am very happy that we picked Sonterra Heights as our place to live! So I just renewed my lease 3 days ago, another 15 months. Which I would not have if it weren’t for the new company that took over. The staff are friendly and try their best to work with you in every situation. Specifically Sarah.She is so patient, goes above and beyond to get answers to all of your questions asap! I know your thinking well isn’t that her job?? Yes, but how many leasing agents actually do all that and more? Not many! The other day my the battery in. Y car died and guess who offered to lend me her battery charger kit??? Sarah, not only is Sarah great at what she does but she actually loves what she does and it really shows! I hope she never leaves this complex!

We just moved in to our new apartment and our experience was amazing thanks to Ashleigh. Ashleigh went above and beyond to make sure the process was quick and easy. A few days before our move in, Ashleigh took us over to check out our new apartment and make sure that everything was to our satisfaction. Moving is stressful, but it was nice not to have to worry about the administrative aspect with Ashleigh handling everything. We are looking forward to our time here and feel confident that the managers will help us if we ever need it.

I LOVE these apartments! For the most part the grounds are kept pretty clean, the location is amazing, and the staff is THE BEST! Anytime you have concerns they take care of it/get back to you. Id say the only thing that bugs me is sometimes the trash valet comes a little earlier than the stated cut off time, but if that is my biggest complaint Ill take it! Pool is great too in the summer!

I enjoyed living at sonterra for 2 years. I had no issues with maintenance, and if I did Alex would always assist me in a timely manner. I had no noise complaints with neighbors, and the office manager Lorena would always assist me with a great attitude. The reason I did not renew my lease is because my job was relocated further away and the travel time was not fun. Other than that I definitely recommend sonterra heights for a place to call home.

Sarah was very friendly, attentive, and kind. I forgot to ask a few questions so I responded to her email the next day and she called me back within a few hours; thats almost unheard of as most complexes I contacted were non-responsive. She was patient and answered all of my questions, was informative, and I look forward to moving into this complex soon! Also, the prices on their website are accurate unlike some complexes in the Stone Oak area with false advertising prices. Thank you Sarah!

I dont know what all these bad reviews are about but I know I love living here l. Never had any problems at all. My husband even lost our keys once on the way home from a walk to the p.o box and they were returned to the office within a few hours. The office staff are some of the nicest people ever! Anytime I call I get an answer right away and someone helps me with any question I may have. Ive never had any problems here at the apartment its self either! Its a nice wellkept area as well as neighborhood! I love all of my neighbors and even the maintenance crew members are pretty awesome too, very nice and professional !

Ive lived here for 6 months so far and I enjoy it. Personally I believe the manager is a moron. She doesnt know what shes talking about half the time which is upsetting BUT those who work in the front such as Taylor or Lorena are amazing which makes up for the lack of management. Maintence does a great job when they come out, you just have to realize that your issue may not be the most pressing issue at the moment. I do wish the gym was bigger and had more equipment but it definitely gets the job done.

I’ve lived here 5 months and my only complain is parking. There are too many vehicles within the entire complex displaying no parking permits. And most of those vehicles are parked in the same space not being driven or moved. They also have expired license plates, temporary tags and some are junked causing a nuisance to the property.I’ve complained to management on numerous occasions and via email, about three to four vehicles not displaying permits. I’ve taken photos of the vehicles and provided license plates. The response is, they have a tow truck that drives through the complex nightly and tows them but that is definitely not the case. I can vouch for this because every day I walk out of my apartment to get to my vehicle and these vehicles are in my path.What is most frustrating is that these vehicles take up sufficient parking spaces leaving other vehicles to park far away, park outside the complex or in compact spaces struggling to get in and out of the vehicle and sustaining frequent door jams due to larger vehicles having no choice to park elsewhere.I know emails have been sent to residents about this issue but that’s as far as it goes.My hope is that management steps up and enforces this rule.

I wish I could give more than 5 stars to the Maintenance Staff. Frank and Tony work non-stop and it is incredible how they get everything done in a timely manner. Our water heater stopped working, Frank gave up time with his family to come out on a Sunday to repair it. A new unit was necessary, the next day first thing in the morning Tony was there to replace it. Unfortunately the night before my husbands mother passed away and we were leaving out of town. We thought about postponing the installation but Tony stayed and moved our washer and dryer. Upon our return the washer and dryer were back in their place and hooked up. This is something that goes above and beyond their responsibilities. We were so moved at this show of compassion. THANK YOU FRANK AND TONY! So grateful and blessed by your generosity.

We’ve just moved in this week and have already had a few problems that were solved or discussed the same day! (Not regarding the property itself) From the moment we stepped in to view the property we felt at home. The front office staff was so nice and welcoming, as well as helpful! The property is absolutely beautiful and I’m not sure we would move anywhere else now!
