I truly appreciate living in my unit at Northside, especially because of its location. My room faces the sunrise, providing beautiful natural light to start my day, making the space feel warm and welcoming. Additionally, the convenience of being within walking distance to my lab is a significant advantage, saving me time and making my daily commute stress-free. The staff here are also incredibly helpful and attentive, always ensuring that any concerns are addressed promptly. These factors are why Iām renewing my leaseāI couldnāt ask for a better living experience. āØļø -

My son has a smart studio on a top floor and has been there for a little more then a month only and so far experience is wonderful. He had to call service twice for minor stuff and within a few days they resolved, fixed the issue.Prior to move in my son, we were scared by the reviews but then another friend had a great experience and we decided to give it a shot.Office is responsive and friendly. Regular wear and tear is normal everywhere. -

I want to take a moment to commend Colin Hiba and Bryan for their exceptional support during my transition from Building 13 to Building 12. If I could give a score, I would rate them a perfect 10 for their outstanding service.Bryan played a crucial role in ensuring my move was financially manageable. He was proactive in helping me secure a refund on my security deposit, which significantly eased my financial concerns. His attention to detail and commitment to minimizing my expenses truly made a difference.Colins assistance was invaluable from the very beginning. He was friendly and efficient, ensuring that I received my new key for Building 12 without any hassle. His welcoming demeanor made the transition feel smooth and seamless.Additionally, Hiba provided me with an excellent two-bedroom accommodation that exceeded my expectations. She went above and beyond by supplying me with important documents that facilitated the process of obtaining my drivers license. Her support in this regard was immensely helpful and showcased her dedication to ensuring a positive experience for residents.Together, these three individuals at Northside exemplify what outstanding service looks like. They deserve commendation not just for a job well done, but for their exceptional commitment to making residents feel valued and supported. Thank you for all your hard work! -

Its the best place for a student to experience on campus living while living off campus. It has great amenities and a variety of events hosted for the residents which are quite fun! -

Rooms are comfy, everything as far as plumbing and heating and electricity has worked reliably. Neighbouring rooms can be a bit loud, but thatās no fault of the apartments. No outstanding issues. -

I have been living at the Northside Apartments(Northside Apartments offers great amenities and is very student-friendly. The facilities here contribute to a comfortable and convenient living environment, making it an ideal choice for students) for a year and have recently signed a new lease for the upcoming academic year. Extremely convenient for UTD students, has its list of problems but all communities do. Good apartments and appliances, pretty prompt in maintenance request resolution. Plent parking spaces, safe, and tons of events every month to meet new people. (PS: The community has multiple gyms and swimming pools along with a volleyball court and basket ball court). Recommended if it rent fits your budget! -

This review is mainly for Misty. I canāt stress enough how easy she makes things for moving in and also for moving out. I had issues with moving out, she was the only person who was helpful. Others on the team had no idea how to handle my case. I was moving out to another apartments near Northside and I was worried Iād be homeless for a few days, but she helped me out and got taken care of my move out process way faster than expected, saving me so much time/money and effort. Understanding my situation she paid specially attention to the details of my case. Such a soft spoken person. I canāt say the same for everyone else on the team. -

I cant express enough gratitude for the exceptional service provided by Northside. Recently, I encountered an issue, but thanks to the swift and efficient response of the management team at the leasing office, it was resolved beyond my expectations. From the moment I reached out to report the issue, Hiba and Destiny displayed professionalism, attentiveness, and a genuine commitment to ensuring my satisfaction. Not only did they resolve the issue promptly, but they also went above and beyond to ensure that I felt valued and cared for throughout the process. Their dedication to providing top-notch service truly sets them apart. -
Review 11 (2024-05-20 - Rating: 4)
Going to start off super honestly, my experience has been pretty average here. I could only complain about things being broken or dirty because of students not being able to pick up after themselves at times. But the only reason I write this review is to compliment Misty, the marketing manager, who helped me greatly last year when I had a bunch of problems with renewing my lease. Supersuper helpful and super kind -

I have never met a more patient and understanding staff at an apartment complex before, the people working there went above and beyond supporting and assisting me and my roommate to the best of their abilities. I never write reviews about anything but the service I got today made my day. Special thanks to Hibah for doing her best to assist us, genuinely grateful. -

Hibba, The front office girl has really helped my son new Northside rental application process and went out of her way to make the process smooth and got it done. She is very helpful, caring, Knowledgeable, and made the Northside rental in UTD application process look very simple and smoothly without any issues. Thank you Hibba !!!! for your excellent service, support and without your help we wouldnāt got his rental application process done that quicklyā¦ Anytime I would love to work with her and she is being so nice to us. Review 15 (2023-05-25 - Rating: 4)
UPDATE: the situation is resolved, Northside offered me my original renewal which is from July 2023 to December 2023.Ive lived here for two years and my experiences with resident services and maintenance have been great. However, a recent experience with the leasing office has made me hesitant to recommend Northside to others. My current lease ends in May 2023. Back in February, I was offered a renewal lease from July 2023 to December 2023 through the Northside rent payment portal. I signed it because Im graduating in December 2023.In April, Northside emailed me saying that a renewal lease with a gap (in my case May 2023 to July 2023) was invalid. They told me that if I wanted to renew, the renewal lease would have to go through the summer. I said send me the renewal lease and registered for a summer class because it seemed like I had to stay in Dallas over the summer.Except Northside never sent me that renewal lease. In late April, I emailed Northside again asking for one ASAP. Northside said that they checked [my] renewal status, and it says complete. Right after I finished my last exam of the semester, I went to the leasing office to clarify the two pieces of contradictory information that I had (1. renewal lease had to go through the summer and 2. my renewal status was supposedly complete.). I told the leasing office that I wanted clarification ASAP because 1. I may need to cancel my summer class and 2. my parents were making vacation plans and needed to know whether or not they needed to book me a plane ticket. I told the lady in the leasing office what I mentioned here and mentioned my confusion at the two pieces of contradictory information that I had. She assured me that I could move out anytime before my current lease ended and move back in during July/August per the terms of the renewal that I signed in February. I then moved out, canceled my summer class, and am currently at home. This morning, Northside calls me saying that the renewal I signed back in February was invalid because renewals have to start immediately after the previous lease ends. The lady who called me (not blaming her in any way for this) said that I had two options: 1. sign a renewal lease that starts in May (meaning that Im paying two months of rent for an apartment that I cant even move back into until the semester starts) or 2. fill out an application for a new apartment (meaning that Id have to pay another application fee and have another inquiry on my credit report on top of not being guaranteed my old apartment).āØāØ Why would Northside even offer a renewal lease through their portal thats just going to be invalidated, and why tell me that my original renewal lease is OK only to tell me that its invalid after I already moved out?To say that I am disappointed in the leasing office is an understatement. -

Pretty good. Maintenance is getting a lot better, and the overall vibe of the area is kinda cute (e.g. a really really small dog park, the plants and flowers, most people have little balconies, areas for bike racks, a little gym area for inside and outside, etc). While it may look unkempt in certain areas (the concrete hallways and elevator areas), itās not too bad. Also, I have no idea whatās up with the pool, but Iām not sure if itās accessible (it was officially closed for a while back, and I havenāt seen anyone use it once it looked presentable again).Thereās also some bus stops right in front, and thatās really useful. -

The apartment was clean and I had no problems throughout my time living herw with the apartment itself. However the electronic lock does have a chance of suddenly forgetting your password. You then need to use an app to reset the password or use a key. Its a minor inconvenience but something that I believe should be looked at. -

Update: my son lived there for 2 yrs now and he liked this place. Maintenance crews has done good job with keeping the place in good shape - and fixed he few issues he encountered. 4 stars + 1 star for being super convenient across from the campus and foods, Starbucks, etc.. all within few minutes of walking. Changing from 1 to 5 stars.Original post from 2021:Wish we have read the reviews on this site before my son signed the lease for this apartment !! Definitely will NOT renew for sure. If you are thinking about staying here, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.I will give this place 1 star because is its location. 2 weeks after moving in my son still didnt have his own key. His key fob didnt work the moment he moved in. He went down to services desk 3 different times and they took his key and still didnt resolved the issue. He constantly have to wait on his roomate to either come home or coordinate to leave and come back at the same time. Services just give him the run around with lots of excuses about the guy are not here, only come in 1 day a week, machine is broke, blah blah .. How ridiculous is it that you dont have access to your own apartment ??? Nobody working there seems to understand or have any concerns how such inconveniences this is. Nobody seems to care and see any urgencies in the issue.I finally visited my son on Saturday and was able to talk to a more sympathetic person in Thy Le at the leasing office. She understood the situation right away and called maintenance, explained the situation and was able to come up with a solution and got them to replace my son locks with a key pad. This is exactly what a pro-active employee looks like. I am very grateful to Thy for her help and this is what services should have done a long time ago. 5 stars for Thy Le for sure. Even so, we definitely would not renew the lease unless dramatic changes are made.BTW, somebody need to pick up all the trashes and boxes that are strewing around the hallways - what a bad impression these made to my visiting families. SMH !! -

Not much to say about the apartment, but I met Hibah at the front desk and she is absolutely amazing! She helped me and my friend with so much what a great employee. -

I havent had any problems here. My apartment is small, but I love it. Very happy with the energy efficiency of the appliances; I havent had an electric bill over $40. After being in UV, Northside is a huge upgrade. The internet is amazing, no random people coming into your apartment, newer and nicer finishes, the list goes on. Staff are always friendly. The only thing that could be improved is the community which is lacking. Also the pool isnt always heated which was a bit misrepresented during the tour. The gym could also use an actual power cage with a barbell instead of a Smith machine. I can imagine that being near the phase 2 construction would be annoying and loud, but I cant personally speak to that because my apartment is not close to it, which I requested during my application. -

Room was clean however, my room mate did not even know I was moving in or who I was. Also my blinds are missing pieces and I canāt close them or have any privacy since my window shows my room and Iām on the first floor. Those should have been taken care of before move in.Update: Blinds fixed in a timely manner. -

I have had the pleasure to live at Northside since 2016. Iāve enjoyed the luxurious living experience Iāve had with the several apartments Iāve stayed at during my time here. Maintenance is always spot on in helping to complete my work orders in a timely and professional manner. The office staff is always greeting me with a smile and happy to help! The dog park has also been a huge plus especially for my fur baby! -

Review 28 (2020-01-25 - Rating: 4)
Overall its pretty nice here at Northside. Everything is much higher quality than anything on campus and its not too much farther. Maintenance is always very fast and friendly. However, there seems to be a lot more outages for internet, electricity, and this morning the fire alarms went off waking everyone up when there was no alarm. Maybe they just have bad luck with preventative maintenance, but its been pretty annoying and lost me a couple full work days (I work remotely). Electricity can also be pretty expensive because everything uses it (AC/heater/stove/water heater) and the building tracking charges you about Ā¢3/KWh which essentially multiplies my bill by 1.3 times what I should be paying because I have a plan that charges Ā¢9/KWh.Overall, Id say they do a very good job and do give you more service for the money you pay. -

I have lived here for the past 4 years and Iāve loved it. I feel like the community is very safe and great distance from UTD. The past 2 years I moved into the brand new plus apartments and I have zero complaints. The maintenance workers are always sweet and fast. I would highly recommend Northside to any incoming UTD students. -

My son has been living here for 8 months and needed to transfer units because of a water leak brought on by SNOVID. Fortunately the complex was spared from having very many units affected. I talked to Jake at leasing today and he was very professional in helping me get everything transferred over to a new unit. My son loves living here. The apartments are nice and just across the street from campus. -
Review 33 (2019-09-12 - Rating: 4)
I lived here my sophomore year and I had a great experience. These are apartments next to a college campus, so a majority of the residents are college students. The amenities are great and should be taken advantage of as Northside is definitely not the cheapest option. The location of these apartments is exceptional as well with the campus within walking distance. There are some drawbacks such as hallways being a little messy sometimes (mostly weekends), but I mean college students...All in all, I enjoyed my stay at Northside and I would recommend it to any student that wants to have a good time with other college students as neighbors. -
Review 34 (2019-05-02 - Rating: 4)
As with any apartment, people have good and bad experiences. I feel the rent is too high ($1409 for my 700 sq.ft. one bedroom), although the water and WiFi being included is a good deal. The apartments are nice though and maintenance gets dealt with quickly. Being walking distance from campus and 7-11 is a huge plus. The staff at the front arenāt very professional, but I honestly donāt mind that because thatās never negatively affected me, and most of the staff go to UTD anyway so theyāre mostly just students learning how to do their jobs. Really the rent should be lowered significantly, though. Thatās my biggest complaint.
