I’ve been living at The Met for 3 years now, and I couldnt be happier with my experience! The staff is incredibly friendly and always ready to help with any issues or questions. Angie, Lindsey, and Niles are seriously so kind and understanding. The Events held frequently on the weekends are always a blast and you get to support the community of musicians that live here. The community at The Met is truly unique. Its amazing to have such a strong sense of community right where you live – it really makes it feel like home. (I love bringing family and friends here to visit because it is simply the most vibrant community)The location is perfect, close to lots of food options and only a 10 minute drive to downtown. The apartments themselves are nice and spacious (it’s not a luxury apartment keep in mind these were built in 70’s i believe) and the rent is a great price especially being so close to downtown. I highly recommend The Met to anyone looking for a great place to live! (Even better if you’re an Artist/Musician)A few photos i took of the met a while back on my film camera! -

I moved here in October. I absolutely love it. Being a musician I couldn’t have picked a better place. The staff is super friendly always ready to help. Anytime I’ve needed maintenance they are here the day of the request. Other residents are also friendly. There’s events that are held. The staff really goes the extra mile. -

I’ve loved the 4.5 years I’ve spent at The Met! I’ve met so many interesting residents - and cats. The office staff is wonderful (shoutout to Drew & Athena), the community events are a blast, and the maintenance guy is hot - not much more you could ask for within that close a proximity to downtown, and for the price. If I didn’t have to move for work, I wouldn’t be leaving! 10/10 long live The Met. -

Amazing staff and a really great community. The apartment its self is really nice especially for the price. I recommend applying especially if you are an artist! -

Such a great apartment with awesome neighbors. It is priced really well to be so close to DT Austin, and it’s older without flashy granite and upgrades so adjust your standards to the price. Almost weekly gatherings are a great way to meet your neighbors and the folks in the office are nice and responsive and maintenance is prompt and kind. A bonus since they allow bands to play in apartments before 10 is some legitimately great music if you are strolling around in the evenings. It feels like a nod to Austin of the past and that is something that we can all appreciate. -

I moved to the Met about 1.5 years ago, and am moving out at the end of May. I had heard the reputation and the stories of the Met, but wasnt exactly sure what I was in for. I stand before you now as a believer in the power of the Met. This place is the best place I could have landed. A funky vibe, with musicians everywhere, a great front office, and free massage chairs! But what has been the most impressive has been the maintenance. Whenever I have had a problem(maybe three over 1.5 years,) I submit my request on line, and all three times, the issue was dealt with within 24 hours. The Met keeps the spirit of weird Austin, when so many places are losing it. They allow the tenants to be creative and express themselves. Some may see some of that as clutter and debris, but I see art and life. The Met wont be for everyone, but it was for this guy and his kid, and I am thankful to everyone who have made, and continue to make this place what it is. -

Lindsey helped me out with moving in! Coming out of an untenable living arrangement prior, I was able to apply and get into the apartments with ease. Im excited to be here and first couple days have been great, cool people everywhere. -

TENANT: This place is really awesome. The community is unique, full of artists and musicians. People are also pretty dang kind. Ex: When I first moved in, I didnt have any pots and pans to use. Neighbors around me welcomed me, and after hearing about the situation, gave me some that they didnt use.(And i didnt even know them!) :) Also, I really dig that you can play music here. It saves that $$ wed end up using for a practice space. Plus, bands can even play events here! Overall, its cheap, got a pool, cool peeps, & close to downtown. -

From: A tenant..I understand the main purpose of you checking out my review is because you may be considering this place as a future home. In short words, this place is definitely worth checking out, heres a couple of reasons why:1. THE STAFF - Super friendly and helpful. There has never been a time where Ive been unsatisfied with their service. Shout out to Maricela, Heavy and Max!!2. THE COMMUNITY - Equally as friendly as the staff. It was my experience, prior to moving into the Metropolis, that neighbors at apartments were just neighbors. At the Metropolis, people are friendly and actually care to communicate with neighbors.3. THE PRICE - Without a doubt, location is one of the most important things when looking for a new place. Personally, I think this place is listed for a great price in a good location. You can walk to many restaurants/convenient stores. Hell, theres even a car wash right next to us.Hope you find what youre looking for and that this review may be helpful :) -

I stayed with a friend who lives here. Older, but nice apartments. Very music oriented tenants. During the day you could hear multiple bands practicing from different parts of the building. This seems like a great haven for musicians. -

There is no other place like the Met. Very unique community open vibe sorta atmosphere. You will make friends and meet some really cool people.I do agree with the paper thin walls though so if you have privacy issues...Anyways, i love the met. -

I lived at The Met for 3 years and I never had a bad experience. If you are looking for Austin vibes this place is it. Musician/artist community. Weekly community events that sometimes offer ways to get money off of rent. There are quarterly concerts at the pool with amazing local artists and vendors. Maintenance always fixed any problems in a timely manner. Its close to lady bird lake and downtown. Cant beat all of that for the price. I couldnt have chosen a better first apartment to live in, in Austin. -
Review 13 (2020-12-04 - Rating: 5)
Just moved in 11/20/2020. Maxx Eaton is the absolute best. He had my unit ready and my tedious move-in as smooth as possible. The community is very nice, neighbors are super friendly, and the apartment itself is very comfortable. There plenty of pet areas for my dog to use the potty and plenty of bags/disposal units to keep the grass clean. I feel like I belong here.-Miguel Flores -

An affordable roof to put the people you love under. I have lived here for over a year and I could not love this place more. The staff working here is full of the most beautiful and talented people. The leasing office employees are always willing to listen to your individual background and needs and accommodate the best they can. The maintenance staff is like a NASCAR pit crew, your toilet won’t flush, they’ll be over and fixing it before you can wipe!! You can play music loud, you can play your drums louder, you can be yourself. #theMetforPrez2020 -
Review 15 (2017-02-03 - Rating: 5)
I lived here for 3 years and it really was the only thing I liked about Austin. I wish I could pack it up and take it with me. So heres the thing, this is a place for artists, musicians, and weirdos- and you will be dealing with artists, musicians, and weirdos either you chill and learn to go with it or it will be a really horrible experience for you but if you go into a weirdo habitat you cant be upset when weirdo stuff happens. On the daily there will be music playing, neighbors talking loud, dogs barking (I do hate this btw), interesting herbs and various other medicinal substances floating about, but all in all I felt like I was apart of a community more like a co-op than an apartment. The apartments themselves are the coolest youll ever see, art deco-style with concrete. If you want it to be better though, bring your own appliances and pretend its new york- youll feel rich. The walls are super thin, so put a bookcase up or two so that you cant hear your neighbors enjoying one another. The office staff is really great but dont be a bother, speak to them respectfully, theyre people. Maintenance is like no other, I give them 8 stars. Maria is the best, be nice to her and be nice to your neighbors.Oh btw, there is security. My bedroom faces a window and I see them walking with a flashlight. Im a single female, who is a night roamer lol and Ive been perfectly fine. I think the best advice for here or anywhere really is dont start no stuff, wont be no stuff -

Been living here for a long time and ive seen this place go through so many changes both good and bad buts its still home. If you decide to live here be ready for the constant drums and musoc production from all the music artists around. The metropolis is a family based community of beautiful people and lovely souls. Peace -

I lived here last year and honestly want to go back! I loved it there! Ive had disagreements with the landlords a few times but theyve always been respectful and always tried to fix any issues Ive had. Really great place to live! -
Review 18 (2020-10-06 - Rating: 5)
Thanks to the Metropolis for being so accommodating and handling me with a sense of urgency to help get a lease renewed in the nick of time and tight spots.Without this place, I probably wouldnt have a roof over my head at this moment, and its displayed in their step that they handle every action with everyone here with care!I would recommend Metropolis to anyone wanting to move to the Austin area. -

I moved here oct 25 2017 . i live in apt 429 . i loved it here. My paperwork was quick and simple sign up. I was happy for that . love that every month they got events here. Yes from the beggining Max the leasing agent told me that metropolis is a artist community . i love hearing my neighbors band practicing. Love it that is very dog friendly. Huge dog park. So far had a few maintenance issues but they was resolved asap i called in in the a.m in a few hrs maintenance is knocking on my door. Since i got dogs staff always ask to be there or to put them ona crate thats no issue for me. So far im happy with joe and leo those are the 2 maintenance worker i meet. Very cool guys and resolve the maintenance issue asap. Pest control comes on Wednesday if i request it they come . so far for me i love living here. -

Extremely unique little gem in Austin. I could literally sit outside in panties and a bra with no worries of creepers doing creepy ish. In fact a neighbor might come out dressed similar and have an hour or two long deep chat about life. You get to know most people here unless you box yourself in. This is a community! -
Review 21 (2019-12-12 - Rating: 5)
