    This is my first review of McDermott 55.I have been a resident here for1 1/2 years.I am most pleased with the professional management of this community. The maintenance crew has always responded with in hours of each request.I would recommend this community to anyone who searches for a 55 and over housing. Community. Great location..close to everything in just 3 or 4 minutes.TROY OTTWELL AUG 2, 2024.

    I live in McDermott Crossing which is another building with the McDermott 55 properties here in Plano. I love living here The staff is great The rent is reasonable and it caters to seniors and the needs that they have. Its one of the best places Ive ever lived.

    This is a nice community in a great location. The staff is friendly and helpful. Bethany and her staff work hard to make this more than just a place to live for the residents, especially by organizing several events to encourage togetherness and socialization amongst the residents. This community is lucky to have a manager who actually cares about the residents.

    Carrie was so helpful during our experience when searching for my fathers new home. She answered all of our questions and had extensive knowledge about the property and its operations. She took great care to insure we felt comfortable and right at home! She really has a passion for helping people and it shows through her work. Thanks Carrie!! Will definitely be recommending her assistance in the future!! :)

    Carrie helped me out so much, she’s very professional and hard working and did it all with a smile on her face. All the Residents seemed to love and trust her. Very good customer service. I definitely recommend going to see her. You will be in good hands.

    One is always afraid of CHANGE. Anxiety comes over us, with just the thought of moving. Here at McDermott is not where the elderly come to retire. This is where the Semi Elderly make their home. Yes we are the ones who have gone from the telephone with the operator for long-distance calls, to video calls to anywhere in the world. We have gone from slides to YouTube, from vinyl records to online music, from handwritten letters to email and WhatsApp. From live matches on the radio, to black and white TV, and then color to HDTV.We have been called the xennials people who had an analog childhood and a digital adulthood. Were kind of Ya-seen-it-all. Our generation has literally lived through and witnessed more than any other in every dimension of life. It is our generation that has literally adapted to CHANGE. So dont be afraid or nervous, pack your bag and make yourself at home here at McDermott. You will find that you will not only be welcome by the McDermott TEAM, but all of your neighbors as well. You can sign up for all kinds of activities, or be quite with in your home.

    I had the opportunity to attend one of the resident events at the community, and I was blown away at how Bethany went above and beyond to put together such a wonderful gathering! It was evident the residents were thrilled, and Bethany worked tirelessly (with a constant smile) to ensure everyone had a memorable time.

    Scheduled a tour and the property was very luxurious and well kept. The staff was super friendly, in particular the leasing agent Carrie was so personable and thorough and inviting. It was a super positive atmosphere and I highly recommend checking out this property!

    My wife and I would like to thank Bethany and her team for the events they put together every week. Bethany deals with a lot of cranky old ungrateful farts in our community. Yet she does it with a smile and does her best to make sure everyone is taken care of.

    Out of state, relocated here few months ago, Iived in a 4 bedroom home needed a 1 bedroom apt., big transition right!! I looked at several apartments all over. From the moment I walked into McDermott 55 office Carrie was great! She was patient, friendly, answered questions, great promotional package, etc. She showed me a couple apts. One she showed me immediately hit me and met all my expectations and I signed on the dotted line. I fell in love with my apartment!! McDermott 55 has everything I need and want. McDermott offers all kinds of fun and interesting activities for residents every month. Shuttle bus service is great. The residents are very friendly. Property Management does an excellent job responding to your concerns which reflect great teamwork. Property is well mantained. I really appreciate how clean and neat the common areas are, especially hallways, dumpster areas, etc. This area is very nice, easy access to all shopping and restaurants. My plan is to be a permanent resident here. There are several apts. out here, but as far as I am concerned, these are the best ones for me. This is home for me!!

    Chris came and fixed the fan on my refrigerator freezer today. He was very professional, polite and focused on the job. I am extremely pleased with Chris and the job he completed 100%.

    Awesome place to live. Very Friendly staff and residents. Convenient to many restaurants and retail stores. Daily Activities are optional. Close to my doctors and pharmacy.

    My mother was a resident of McDermott Crossing for the past year. It was a big change for her moving from a 4-bedroom house to an apartment. Almost immediately she made friends with residents and attended the social events. It was so great for me to see her enjoying herself. The staff is personable and caring, very helpful. Resort style amenities, beautiful grounds, the apartments are quite nice. The facility is clean and safe. This is the type of place anyone would like to retire to. Most residents are nice and welcoming and the complex has a lot of activity. Pets are also welcomed. Its a great community, would highly recommend for independent living.

    The community feeling here is incredible. Everyone, from day one, has been welcoming! They greet you in the halls, they stop and chat, they wave when you walk by. The management is incredibly warm and friendly! The green areas and open areas are beautiful to walk through. Something interesting in every direction.

    I recently moved here and it’s a really nice and clean place. They’re having a special offer currently that they give free rent till the end of the year (for November, December) with waiving admin, deposit, and application fees.The customer service at the office is 100%, from Bethany, Jasmine, and even the manager, they were very welcoming and very respectful.I feel very glad for finding this apartment.

    Having lived at McDermott Park for 22 months, I have observed the work of two managers prior to Shelly Johnson. At first, I was skeptical! Well is a very short time Shelly has proved she is outstanding! She and her team have improved maintenance, social activities, interaction with residence with special emphasis on asking for comments to understand what we feel are important issues so she could take proper action to improve our life experience. The pool is much cleaner, the food & beverage service at happy hours is better, the speed bump at our driveway is a big step toward better safety and the inter house mail cubbies now on order will further improve our already improved communications.Shelly has made my home a nicer place to live!Don Droesch

    My experience at McDermott 55 Crossing has been outstanding and a breath of fresh air. The apartments themselves are first class as are the tenants at the community. Management has been outstanding as well, and Shelly, Jasmine and Bethany are very professional and care very much about the security, safety and the feelings of the tenants at Crossing. Moving here was a great experience and would not hesitate to refer friends and family to come and llive at McDermott 55 as my experience here has been genuinly rewarding.Maintenance at the apartments is also 5 star service as they attend to the service calls quickly and resolve most all of the issues on the first call.

    I moved into McDermott Park last February. I havent lived in an apartment in over 40 years but I didnt want to take care of a house anymore and I was becoming a hermit after my wife died. I like it here!Ive made a lot of new friends and have a great apartment that has a terrific view of the pool. We all get together for parties, games, etc. These are nice people and Im proud to be with them.

    My husband and I have lived here since October, 2018. We looked at quite a few +55 apartment communities before we sold our home in CARROLLTON. When we came here my husband said β€œthis is it!”We love the freshness of the colors and Jennifer Sorrells helped us find the perfect apartment with a beautiful view from our third floor balcony. This active community of adults get together often even if it is just to play games or have our weekly tea and cookies. I try to meet all of the residents who live here and I have made friends with most.All people over the age of 55 are welcome! My husband and are are both 72 years young. The people we know here support each other and watch out for each other. The decision to move to McDermott Park was a great one for us!

    We have had nothing but a very positive experience thus far at McDermott Crossing. We have lived here for 3 months and it has been fantastic. We are very happy we received a flyer in the mail of this place, it has been nothing but a joy. Everyone is very friendly and helpful.
