Only been in my apartment for a few days so I really can’t give a good review, but so far so good. Staff has been very friendly and professional.Updating since I had two maintenance requests in two days. Very prompt and professional response. Fixed both issues with no problems.

Just moved in and this place is amazing! Super helpful and friendly staff, the grounds are beautiful, my apartment is up to date and looks stunning, the pools are crystal clear, and the maintenance showed up the same day I submitted a request! I imagine Ill be here for a long while.

Unlike many apartments these days, Hillside is NOT just another hideous flat with parking spaces and cement everywhere. Hillside actually has a nice landscape. Plenty of grass and scenery to walk around and take in (dog owner or not).I lived at Hillside for 1 year 2 months. In that time, my only complaint was that the community is not gated/fenced. However, once you realize you are surrounded only by a school, houses, a turtle pond, and water park (in walking distance), it really isnt anything to complain about. I never felt that the area was dangerous.There are plenty more positive notes to leave, but those are some of the highlights. Maria Amparan, the manager of Hillside, was extremely empathetic and helped my family more than she even realizes. I will always be grateful to her and Hillside.I highly recommend Hillside.Nicholas Jessup, MS

I really love living at Hillside. The folks that work in the office and do maintenance are amazing! They address issues right away with a smile and positive attitude. The pools are clean, the area is safe and quiet. Great for families with the Rosemeade Rec Center and Rosemeade Rain Forest within walking distance.

Ive lived at Hillside for a year and a half now, and I have no complaints! The office staff is always so nice and helpful. Maintenance team is great! They always fix whatever it is quickly, and always nice. I love the layout of my apartment. Walls are a little thin, but not too bad. The apartments are on the older side, but they keep up with them well.

I lived at Hillside for 2.5 years. Overall the experience was pleasant. Rarely had issues and when I did the maintenance team were quick to respond. The cost of rent did increase by 33% in the time I was here but that was more of the market rather than the property management. The community is very quiet and I never had issues with neighbors.

I have lived here since 2016 and it has been good. Safe area, kept clean, staff knows me and I wave when I drive around. Maintenance fixes problems when we call. It was a good choice for my family and I. We happen to be the noisy neighbors, with a 4 year old, but neighbors are so gracious with us and we appreciate it.It is an older apartment complex and there are some cracks in the living room, the paint on the master bedroom tub is peeling, we had a few issues with pests for a season- 2021-2022 -that were promptly resolved. Microwave, stove, water heater, AC unit all replaced promptly when there were issues. Even some AC piping removed and replaced.There are pros and cons to living in an apartment. For me the price and location outweigh the cons. We will stay here until we transition to a house.

Appreciate the quick response and resolution to all maintenance requests. The parking lot and grounds are kept neat and clean. The pools are taken care of daily, in and out of season! Amenities of the gym on premises has been a key help in allowing me to workout in all temperatures and nasty weather. The staff is responsive and proactive when work is being done in the units. Great place to live.

Hillside has been an excellent place to live and Ill remember my time here fondly. I am moving soon but recommend it to anyone. I honestly wouldnt have moved but rent was increasing (tho it happened very gradually) and I have the opportunity to move to a house, so away I go. I love the green space between buildings. Although not incredibly fresh when it comes to interiors or design, the complex doesnt feel as cramped as some other places do. The common areas (pool, etc.) are always clean and the staff is incredibly courteous and friendly. Maintenance esp has always been so helpful, particularly Israel. Very kind people. Neighbors are largely quiet and respectful. The location is also convenient - close to K-Town, Kroger, Carrollton parks and rec center, and other shopping. If you can, try to get a unit that isnt facing Old Denton, as the road can be a little noisy and people can drive a little fast down the hill. Thats my only complaint but otherwise, its a fantastic complex thats well-managed and peaceful.

Ive lived here for years, forgot how long its been at this point. There are pros and cons. Pros are the office and maintenance staff are good - especially maintenance. Issues are handled quickly & all of the staff members Ive interacted with have been so kind. Its a great area. Very quiet, walkable and close to several grocery stores, great restaurants and a nice Rec center. Very clean in my experience. Only a few problems with bugs in the past but nothing terrible. Common areas are very well maintained. Cons are the apartments are old. Appliances are outdated. Cracks are appearing in walls and ceiling, plaster is falling down. Walls are thin, plumbing is loud. You can hear every footstep people upstairs take. Rent is increasing substantially yet amenities are being taken away (ie free cable). I like living here because I love the area and my unit is still relatively affordable. The place used to be an excellent value, but definitely not anymore. Not sure how much longer Ill be living here.

I love living here, the office is amazing, maintenance is top tier, they always are at your becking call. The only thing I don’t like is how high rent has gotten. I know it’s the market, but this complex has no business charging 1700 for my unit that started at 1029 2 years ago. It’s not like the appliances are brand new and updated, everything is from 2005. Nothing is brand new and top of the line…I now have to move out because I can’t afford to live here anymore. It really bums me out.It is what it is.

My recommendation is that if you want a very peaceful and tranquil place to live at, then this is the place. Ive never had any issues with my dwelling or the property managers, the location is great and Im completely satisfied. There is not much more satisfaction than enjoying your dwelling and surroundings!

My husband and I lived at Hillside apartments for around two years, were very happy with our experiences there, and would recommend it to anyone looking for an apt. We found the maintenance staff to be very prompt and responsive, and the management fine to work with. In reading reviews, Ive noticed many complaints about Maria, but our experiences of working with her were exactly what I would expect of an apartment manager. She is professional, diplomatic, and does her best to maintain the standards of the complex. Contrary to earlier reviews, they do spray for bugs - although I think living near a creek may increase the number of them to begin with. Yes, any given apartment may have loud neighbors, but that is the nature of living in an apartment community. Overall we found it to be safe, family friendly, run well, and a very convenient location. Our biggest complaint was with how old the community washing machines were, but that is really quite a minor thing. It seems like there are not very many positive Google reviews, but this doesnt seem to be the case if you look on other sites. I know Ive heard lots of horror stories from friends living in other apartment complexes and feel confident in recommending Hillside as a place where the overall experience is great.

After a rocky start (apartment reeked of cigarette odor that couldnt be removed), the management was highly cooperative and transferred me to another apartment within a week, and the maintenance team moved everything! I was surprised to see some negative reviews, because I had absolutely NO issues, no bugs, and the two maintenance requests were addressed within 24 hours. Quiet neighborhood. The rental office team and manager were friendly and helpful, even through the pandemic.Only negative is the foot noise from upstairs units - but the construction is old... so understandable and not an issue that can be remedied.Compared to two other apartment complexes and multiple issues over 2 years, including so many bugs I lost count, Hillside was a relief.

Great staff! Family member lived at Hillside for one year and had no issues. Any request made was attended to without delay. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Place was clean. Fantastic apartments! Lived here for three years. We moved out because I got a job out of Texas. Close to Rosemeade Rec Center, dog park, Starbucks. Very quiet, clean apartments. In three years, I never saw a single bug. I hate insects, so this was a big deal for me. Grounds are extremely well kept. Maintenance responds quickly, usually within the hour (seriously, within the freakin hour). Maria, the manager, is amazing. Shes open and listens to residents needs. I will miss exchanging pleasantries when paying rent and picking up Amazon deliveries. Happy to report that we got our deposit back without any funny business (A Christmas miracle, haha).
